Pulling onto the off-the-beaten path, tree-lined property, myself and my party were instantly impressed with the overall look and aesthetics of the grounds.
Sadly, our good impression ended there
Upon entering, we were met with a rather surly woman who seemed, at best, disinterested in our arrival. My party and I exchanged bemused expressions, shrugged our shoulders and continued on, undaunted, to the tasting area.
The local wine was so-so, which was no major surprise due to the region. But what happened next was truly bizarre We had just returned from a day of leaf-peeping and my girlfriend had taken along her 35mil camera. When the barkeep noticed the camera, she said "I'm sorry but if you take professional photos, we will have to charge you". My girlfriend took it in stride, saying "Don't worry, I'm not that professional ".
We had just been on the road for hours so we decided to stay, have a bottle of wine and listen to the band. The wine was ok, the band fine and the table service adequate.
Needless to say, this is a "one and done" winery for us We enjoy wineries and will visit the ones we enjoy on multiple occasions.
Not so much for this one.
Overall, a grade A disappointment.
Three are many better choices out there
Buyer beware.
