Torne Valley Vineyards - Review - New York - The Infatuation

"Walking around the grounds of this vineyard in Milburn feels like strolling around Storm King, but with grapevines instead of sculptures. They only make a couple of wines, but if you’re more interested in finding a gorgeous spot for a day date than listening to details about whole cluster fermentation, drive an hour north of the city to Torne Valley Vineyard. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Joined friends to hear live music. The band was amazing. Food average, waitstaff worked very hard that night. Outside is a very lovely setting. Inside is another story. Very rundown, not very clean, especially the restrooms. Long lines for bathrooms as there are only 2 for a couple hundred people! Unacceptable. The house could be beautiful with a good scrubbing , fresh paint and updated decor.

Went on a Saturday and had lots of fun tasting wines. The price of the tasting was $15 with multiple wines to choose from. The tasting was a choice of 5 wines. There were also options for lunch and they have specials for the day if you ask. There is parking on premises and when we went there was lots of room to park. All the staff are really nice and helpful. Overall, a very pleasant experience and were unique due to the beautiful home to take pictures with.

Google
Amazing 👏 an exceptional venue with a captivating ambiance and fantastic vibes. The customer service is exemplary, with the waitress earning a perfect 10/10. The wine selection is superb, making it an ideal spot for capturing stunning photos and enjoying a delightful afternoon. My sole critique is the wait for the restroom due to only having two toilets. Nonetheless, everything else is impeccable, and I highly recommend this place. Note: Don’t arrive late, as it gets quite crowded, and you might end up without a table.

Amazing setting. Service was amazing. The wine is very good. Food is perfect. Just to update. They have uped the game on food. The food was exceptional today. 5/17/25

Google
More of a wine bar, less of a vineyard/winery. The tastings were only $15. The wines tended to be sweet (I’m not complaining). The outdoor dining area is cute and they have live music playing. The food was good enough and the bottles of wine were cheap. Afterwards, you can walk the grounds and there is a cute creek running next to the property. The vibe was relaxed and nice. Great little getaway from nyc.

Torne Valley Winery is a fantastic escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, offering a serene atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation. I loved the Riesling wine, and the live band added a delightful touch to the experience. With great service and a picturesque stream on the property, it’s a wonderful spot to unwind and enjoy a day outdoors.

Yelp
There are times like this when I am hesitant to leave a review.....Why? Because when I find a place I love I almost don't want to share it. FULL 5 Stars here for our Saturday afternoon chill.. First off TVV offers many services: wedding, on-site catering\events, wine tasting. But keep in mind: Open to the public Sat & Sun 11am-5:30pm Plenty of outside tables covered with huge open tents; kept out the sun but not the nice breezes we had on our perfect weather day. Also a good sized tiki bar with drafts beers as well as the house wines. ( NY produced spirits like vodka, etc also sold). Plenty of servers and busboys. Food came out in good time. Water refilled fast. Simple menu like sliders, salads, bar food. What we all shared was excellent. Fried calamari was perfectly cooked. Guacamole on toasts points with chopped tomatoes & onions we very good. Even the large pretzel with beer cheese was one of the best I ever had ( the dough was almost like a hard zeppole) As for the wines.... I'm a little picky. Never a huge fan of NJ\NY wines, but they had some good stuff. I'd skip the reds but they had some very good whites. One of them called Diamond ( semi-dry) was excellent and when used in the White Sangria.... THE BEST. That is my drink up there from now on....Very good. Prices are great for both the food and drinks (Huge wine pour for only $8!!) They also have LIVE music on weekends. everything from a solo guitar player singing great tunes to well known cover bands. I know I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Service ok. Food good. Wine like. Music good. Today too many kids that are too loud. Left as soon as rushed lunch.

Yelp
5 stars for ambiance, vibes, location 3 stars for pretty good food and pretty decent local wine 1 star for service. Staff is all very young, inexperienced & totally lost. Torne could turn over 2x the tables or serve 2x the drinks and food if the staff was better. It was like a circus. I have decades of restaurant experience and this was almost comical. If I wasn't patient, I would have left after 45 minutes. Train the staff. They have no idea what's expected. If you can't manage and train them, then pay more and get experienced people who can increase your profits and make customers happier. We'll try one more time with much lower expectations. PS get a cheap website! Sorry, but yours stinks. Potential customers need easy access to your menu, music, events, etc. linking all your Info to Facebook is not the way to market yourself--this even coming from an old FB-using boomer (who happens to own her own successful business) it's a leap into a new world but you'll not gain new customers this way. This lack of updated marketing is a perfect recipe for your demise. Hire one of your 18 year old servers to keep it updated with specials, events, etc. it's easier than it might seem. Really. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm trying to help. I see your potential and would love to see you grow and thrive.

Yelp
First off, I love the ambiance of torne valley and don't mind going here. However once they become slightly busy, service takes a downhill turn. We came on a lovely Saturday when they first opened. We have been there before so we already knew what wine we liked. There was plenty of choices for outdoor seating both under the tent and in the gravel patio area next to it. The live music was good, a mix of current history and older songs. Food was OK, usually better. We tried a salad, crispy calamari (that wasn't crispy but at least wasn't chewy) and truffle waffle fries. Once our food was out I think we were only checked on once, and waited a while for our check (we were there more than 2 hours). We probably would've ordered more food and drinks, but we ended up just asking for the check so we could snack somewhere else. I'd still come back, because it's very nice to sit out there and enjoy some wine.

Yelp
Love it here! This is one of my favorite wineries. I've wanted to come here for awhile. I finally stopped by. I arrived at 11:30 on a Saturday, before the rush. I would recommend this. I was there for a few hours but it got really crowded and after 12 there was a wait to be seated. When I arrived, there was plenty of outdoor seating available. I tried a variety of white wine and Chardonnay. Everything I tried was delicious. I'd recommend trying several wines here. I also ordered a cheese and meat plate, oysters and key lime pie. Everything was made fresh and was extremely flavorful. I would recommend everything I ordered. I would order the same wines and food again but I'd love to come back to try more of their other options as well. This place fills up quickly on weekends. I would definitely recommend arriving here early. They have lots of outdoor seating on their patio and in their garden. The vineyard is very spacious too. Walking around the garden and vineyard is very beautiful and picturesque. No one else was in the vineyard when I was there, but I would recommend walking around the grounds for the great views. They have live music on weekends here too. It started up later in the day. But it was very relaxing to hear music on the patio. I can't wait to come back here again soon.

Yelp
We ordered the cheese platter and gave us blocks of some store bought cheddar cheese and pepper jack the smoked gouda which wasn't bad but still gave us blocks witch were impossible to eat with the dry baguette, other than that they gave us blocks of salami and sliced pepperoni for a price of 17$ could be alot better for the price

Yelp
Perfect Saturday outing with my girls, away from the city on our way to visit a friend in a neighboring town. Kim was amazingly knowledgeable on the wines with great recommendations. She took some great pic of us too!! The food menu had a great variety and even some daily specials. The live music and and chill atmosphere was a vibe! The only loss of a star was for not having the house specialty berry drink available in a pitcher. We opted for the sangria which was a lil weak so, we just added a bottle of Reisling to it! Purchased several bottles to take home and had some great laughs with the staff. Would totally do it all over again!

Yelp
Local winery that has other options for those that don't drink wine. Their food is fabulous and they always have great live entertainment. The servers, especially Halie, work their butts off!

Yelp
This was my first time at this winery. We wanted to do something during the day that was unique and close by and this hit the spot. This is truly a hidden gem! The grounds are beautiful. We didn't go expecting to have delicious wine and food, we wanted to have a nice atmosphere with music and this was delivered. The wine was just fine, but that is what I expect from New York wine. We had the sangria which was watered down. We split the fries, which were nothing special and the quesadilla which was surprisingly good. The only downfall was there was always a long line for the bathroom because there are only two and the place is crowded. Additionally, the service was terrible. He never came back to check on us to see if we wanted anything else to drink. My husband got annoyed and just went to the bar to order himself another beer. They had live music which played a variety of good songs and we enjoyed them because they weren't too loud so we could still have a conversation and hear each other.

Yelp
One of the nicest vineyards I've been to! This spot has great wines and lovely outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and very accommodating and seated us fairly quickly, despite being a walk-in. I guess it wasn't as busy so we got lucky but I recommend making a reservation. The property is expansive and gorgeous, with a lovely brook in the backyard. It's a very picturesque spot and perfect for a relaxing summer day. It's worth checking out if you're in the area!

Yelp
Wow, what a hidden gem! I wish I knew I had a winery so close to home. Lovely location. Food and music were great. Wine isn't my husband's go to drink so having location artisan New York beer was amazing. They also have spirits. Planning to celebrate my birthday this 'March 2024 there! A must to go winery in NJ!!!

Stacey O.

Yelp
Outdoor seating was a great place to relax while enjoying one of the winery's selection of wines. Food is also available. The grounds were beautiful! Friendly staff and live music. I would definitely go back!

Yelp
First visit to this vineyard last weekend was very enjoyable! We were fortunate that it wasn't too busy on a Saturday. We were able to enjoy the afternoon listening to good live music while sipping on wine. I prefer dry wine and particularly liked their Seyval Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. They have a limited menu, especially for gluten free. The Torne Valley Salad with chicken (GF) and Chicken Panini were good. The staff is knowledgeable about gluten free and takes necessary precautions.

Yelp
A friend and I came to Thorne Valley Vineyards twice. Each time, we had a great time. 1st time 9/26/21: We came and the place was packed. The Restaurant doesn't take reservations. It's best to just show up when it opens. There's indoor and outdoor dining. Anyway, we decided to do some serious wine tasting indoors. Kim came over to our area and gave us tasting cards. If I recall, we were able to select 10 Wines for tasting. At that time, we ordered a cheese platter too. We came home with a great bottle of Seyval Blanc. In addition, a NJ accessory shop displayed beautiful handmade jewelry. 2nd time 10/31/21: Outside restaurant wasn't crowded. The indoor and outdoor bars were packed. We decided to sit outside at a table under a tent. We ordered a wonderful pitcher of red sangria ($36) and cheese platter. Afterwards, we did have a glass of Kimmie's Crush (Semi Dry Red Wine). The wine was very good. A band named the Hip Replacements performed lively music. It was a very enjoyable day! There's parking in front of the winery and in the back. Unfortunately, I have to take one star off. The concrete stairs from the back parking lot are cracking and lack hand rails.

Yelp
This vineyard was wonderful. Very beautiful spot! The white sangria was delicious! The views are very nice. The caprese salad was ok, they sold out of the shrimp tacos but I would love to go back and try them.

Yelp
Enjoyed this scenery, food and Jazz music live band. not too far away. Definitely worth it

Yelp
Torne Valley Vineyards ~~ The entrance to the 19th century country estate with its Victorian mansion is quite impressive. There was 40 min wait for the wine tasting scheduled for Saturday, June 6th. We were seated on the lawn, under the tree & canopy large enough to provide us shade. We had white wine sangria, cabernet sauvignon, and Gewurtztraminer, with a cheese platter. A wonderful day to be out having wine in the open space. And it's a short drive from the GW bridge.

Yelp
Food: 3.5/5 Tried their Chardonnay and Cab Franc. Both were tasty! The Chardonnay was light, crisp and dry while the Cab Franc was dry, smooth and medium bodied. I'm sort of a wine snob. The wine here was good but not great. Also tried their meat and cheese platter, the french fries, the chicken panini and their burger. The meat and cheese was average. For $12, I wasn't expecting anything fancy. The fries were more like waffle fries with parmesan cheese. It was seasoned and fried perfectly! The chicken panini was pressed and super crispy/delicious. The burger was tasty too! Did not expect the food to be good but was pleasantly surprised! Service: 2/5 Initially we were told the wait time was about an hour but it was more like an hour and 40 minutes. Not really their fault but it did take long. The bartender at the cash bar wasn't too friendly. We had a lot of time to kill so ended up hanging out at the cash bar. I asked him two questions. "Hi, how are you" and "which wine would you recommend -the chardonnay or rose" and he said "oh you have too many questions!" I avoided him for the rest of my visit. The other female bartender was much nicer. Ambiance: 3/5 First time going to a vineyard in this location. I'm familiar with the vineyards out in the Hamptons. I prefer the vibe out in the Hamptons better but this place was quaint. They have live music outdoors which adds a nice touch.

Yelp
this was a fun day visit. beautiful grounds, live music is a plus. menu for lunch is nothing crazy but thoughtfully prepared food. we got the cheese platter which was satisfying and a sangria pitcher. they didn't enforce the two hour time limit with us but I think that's because they weren't at full capacity. we also did a winetasting which I would say was worth it though I wouldn't expect like an expertise experience. The woman pouring us the wine was very friendly and kind and definitely isn't like on top of you to buy anything or tell you the entire history of wine I'd say she more so just kind of read the description and let you taste it.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful, from the moment we got there was a nice view of the mansion driving in and free parking. We walked in. The entire staff was polite and very welcoming Very very nice and inviting place. Perfect for a sweet date or friends and family day. There were two small groups having celebrations. We started of with the wine tasting room which is $10 to taste 5 wines of your choice. I enjoyed the Rose and the Diamond (with a hint of honeysuckle) The location is very lovely and the food was spot on and tasty. There was a performer singing, the entire day felt relaxing. After brunch we walked through the vineyard and sat by the river, which was a fantastic bonus. Several other groups did the same. It's a perfect place to go with friends family or even a mid day lunch date. Such a beautiful day, we all left pleased. We each purchased a bottle of wine and left sporting new jewelry we purchased from the silver shop. Hope this review helps.

Yelp
I have been to Torne Valley Vineyards, Hillburn NY, a few times and it is a nice place to meet up with friends, listen to music and enjoy wine and food on the patio. BUT NOT THIS PAST SUNDAY 10/20/24. We usually arrive around noon and the place was already filling up. We were seated quickly outside on the patio and ordered our wine and appetizers to start. About 30 minutes later, our server announced to us that since it is crowded, the kitchen is back logged and there is a 2-2.5 hr wait for food. She also informed us that as it gets busier, we may have to relinquish our table to those waiting. WHAT? Why do we have to relinquish our table because the vineyard didn't have the foresight to staff the kitchen adequately? They have ample property to add seatings!!! It was a beautiful fall day and the vineyard should have knowledge of their busy season and plan accordingly. Our group traveled over an hour and we always ordered a few bottles of wine and plenty of food. Three members of the party were celebrating their birthday, so we were looking forward to desserts. We didn't want to wait for the possibility of having to relinquish our table, and we were hungry, so we finished our wine and left. We were very disappointed to say the least. However, we found a charming Italian wine and food bar in town and we were able to eat, drink at leisure.

Yelp
Very good ambiance. Nice service. Wine tasting was eh. $10 for 5 tastes. Covid spacing was used for wine tasting. A Bottle of wine is the way to go for hanging out and listening to the music. Was chilly out, we were able to Move under the tent when a table became available. Music was good. Liked that it was reachable from where we both live. Has a nice large outdoor area with a separate bar (cash only at the bar). Scenery is quite nice with a creek running through. Will come again. Oh. Wings were actually decent. Food fairly priced. When it's busy there is a two hour limit for table seating. No dogs allowed they stated (as I called ahead). Signs posted on the property clearly stating it. Meanwhile someone shows up with a puppy and they apparently had no issues allowing that. Go figure.

Yelp
First time visiting a vineyard in upstate NY and it was a lovely visit. The building & surrounding land is absolutely beautiful. We arrived just in time to join a group for wine tasting. We tried several whites, one rosé & one red blend. I enjoyed most of the selection and it was accompanied by oyster crackers & pretzels, an unusual pairing. Once we were done with the wine tasting, it was time to fill our bellies with food. I opted for a mushroom & mozzarella sandwich that was very good paired with a tasty chick pea salad. We also tried their sangria that was very good. It was a cool autum evening enjoying semi-outdoors under heated tents with musicians playing in the background. Look forward to visiting this vineyard during the warmer months.

Yelp
This place is outstanding. Had a great time tasting wine. The outside bar has 4 beer taps of NY beers. The staff and owner John are fantastic. Don't sleep on this diamond in the ruff.

Yelp
Came in with high expectations, left disappointed. Positive: yes only one thing. The owner Kim served us during the wine tasting. She was great and took her time with our group of 7 people. Negatives: -we got there at 1pm. We were promised a table for 7 people within 1.5 hours. Every time we checked, they kept saying "4 parties ahead of you" -can order a bottle of wine to drink at the side of the place, but you can't order food with it. Which is dumb. Most of us got there to eat while drinking. -to sign up for wine tasting, the lady says "come see me in 45 minutes". No name taken down or number give. Then when the 45 min passed, we tried to go to the wine tasting spot, only to face the same lady who didn't remember us. Telling us to come back in 45 min again. We got in after a back and forth argument. -after the wine tasting, we went to check on our table, 2.5 hours later, only to find the kitchen is closed and they're not serving any food anymore. Checked with the hostesses, they forgot to call our phones and completely skipped us. They seated and served two full pages worth of people. -spoke to the owner, who didn't handle this properly. No sincere apology, blamed us for "coming late", and she didn't even put the blame on TWO hostesses who skipped out party. Two full pages of parties were contacted and/or seated after our name on the list. Expect that treatment if you're going in "late"/aka an hour after they open. I've been to many vineyards and wineries in NY and NJ, and they're all busy during this time of year on weekends, but never was treated like that. Never going back

Yelp
One star only for Kim. Otherwise it would have been zero stars. Came here last weekend around 1:30pm. Put our name down to be seated and they told us it would be a 1.5 hour wait and that they would call us when the table is ready. We were hungry but we were only allowed to order drinks while waiting for the table. They said food can only be ordered once we were seated. While waiting, we noticed the entire place was smaller than we were expecting. The front of the building was well manicured. But while we were waiting in the Vineyard area (a little small and underwhelming), we noticed the back of the building was definitely neglected: a stark contrast from the front. The front was freshly painted but the back had peeling paint and dirty windows/paneling. At about an hour after putting our name down we checked with the hostesses (there were 2 of them) and they said there are 4 parties ahead of us. We decided to take pictures while waiting. After pictures and still no call, around 3:00pm now, we asked again and they said there are still 4 parties ahead of us. So we did the wine tasting while we continued to wait. Thankfully we were able to get a cheeseboard to hold us over (can't order any other food in the tasting area). Kim was super nice and took her time with us even though it was busy. The Diamond, a white wine, was my favorite. After wine tasting and still no call, we checked on how much longer the wait was and the hostesses tell us the kitchen is now closed (it is now 4:05pm). They told us they called everyone but when they checked their notebook they were mistaken and missed our name/number. There was a whole 2.5 pages of crossed out parties after us! They just stared at each other and kept saying, we don't know how this happened we're sorry. We left hungry, disappointed and with a bad taste in our mouths. I would definitely recommend skipping this place and going to a different vineyard/winery. Laurita Winery, Working Dog Winery and Fox Hollow Vineyards in NJ were all much better.

Yelp
Had a very nice day at this venue ! The wine was good, the chicken quesadilla was very good, service was excellent and the music enjoyable. A hidden gem !!! We're going back for sure !

Yelp
Beautiful vineyard hidden in Rockland County. The food was pretty good and the wine was as well. Will definitely be coming back during warmer months. Although, they have seating inside during colder months.

Yelp
Invited by a friend for lunch and music. She had a gift certificate that was about to expire. The hostess was, as usual, rude. Just, plain rude. She would not let me go in with my water bottle. She said there are no containers allowed. I guess she felt she needed to drill this point into my head because she said "it's on our website (it's not), on our voicemail, etc. What was the point? The food was mediocre at best and the music worse. It was too loud for a small indoor space. Our bill was about $15 less than the total amount of the gift certificate and my friend wanted to give the balance to our server as a tip. The owner would not allow it, so my friend ended up buying a bottle of wine, which she didn't want and we left a tip in cash. When we left, the same rude hostess said "love you" (WHAT?) and said "if you're bored, we're open the next two Saturdays. I've had many gift cards in my life and I've never had an establishment not allow the balance to go towards a tip. Bad customer service. Rude owners. Spend your time and money at an establishment who practices good customer service. The place was empty too.

Yelp
First visit to this very local spot. Not sure what took me so long to come here especially since I'd always heard great things. It wasn't quite as laid back as most of the wineries I've been to where you can just grab drinks and food and plop somewhere on the property. Acts more like a restaurant. There were ample tables and we grabbed 2 seats at the bar. They had a lovely mellow band playing. The ambiance is just lovely. Great view. All of the staff was very pleasant. The bartender Debbie was great! We had some food as well. Other than the Sangria being a little pricy, it was an enjoyable lunch. Great assortment of wines and a few beers. Menu is not extensive but the salad and panini we had were delish. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
$8 for 8 wine tasting! There were 6 whites and 2 reds that we tried here, and they were pretty good. Love the building, such a huge house! Large parking lot. Live music. Go to the front desk to purchase tickets if you just want the wine tasting. If you want to dine here, go to the host to put your name down for a table as soon as you get there, otherwise you'll be waiting a long time for the outdoor seating. We didn't have to wait because we sat indoors and still had the breeze and sun shining in, and able to hear the band playing outside (large windows too). Skip the cheese platter. Get the gewurztraminer.
google avatar

Michele L.

Yelp
Loved the setting and the wine tasting was fun. Especially when you are seated with other friendly folks. We sat and had 2 parties of 2 that joined our table during our tasting time. Nicest folks. Food wise my husbands quesadilla was good but the cheese platter I ordered was fair. Little blocks of cheddar, Jack and pepper Jack. A few shreds of prosciutto and lots of pepperoni. I asked for no goat cheese, but the cheese I received was like the kind you get at a cocktail hour nothing stood out. The servers, music and staff were great!

Yelp
Very decent pricing for wines and food. Absolutely hands down best paninis i've ever had in my life. I still think about it till this day. Great ambiance with live music and a great outdoor area. 10/10 would recommend for a weekend visit!

Yelp
We went on a Sunday afternoon as a party of 8 celebrating our friend's 30th birthday. Wine tasting was very good. We each got to taste 5 different wines and ordered 2 meat and cheese plates. The woman explaining all of the wines was very informative. Afterwards, we were sat outside to enjoy 8 bottles of wine we bought along with small plates of food. The food was great. Pretzels & the clam chowder were my favorite. Our waitress, who was Hispanic, was very friendly, nice, and accommodating. Whilst enjoying our time at our table, a blonde haired hostess with a ridiculous attitude, came to our table and demanded she take 2 chairs because they belong to another table. The place was at most at 30% compacity. We looked around and were surrounded by about 7 empty tables with 4 chairs at each table. We did not understand what her problem was. We weren't doing anything to deserve that treatment. It made us assume the lady was just racist because we were a diversified group. The bill was a bit over $400 and we did not let that hostess, with her atrocious attitude, affect the nice waitress' tip. Won't be spending any money at this business anymore.

Yelp
We arrived at noon on Father's Day. We wanted to get there early since they don't take reservations. We went to the host stand and the lady explained we couldn't be seated in the main tent but there was a table on the driveway. There was at least ten tables open right in front of us. I asked if the tables in the main tent were reserved and she said no we don't take reservations but those tables were full. I still don't understand how she's telling us a table is full when we are looking at it and it's empty. I asked if we could wait for a table in there and she said no. On one hand I get that you don't owe me an explanation but it didn't seem fair. At least come up with a better way to express it to customers. It just seemed discriminatory. She said this is her instruction from management. We begrudgingly took the table outside the main area. The service was excellent, wine yummy, and food was delicious. Our server was so nice and everything came quickly. Best lobster roll I ever had! The live musicians were excellent. It was like jazz style covers. Very talented.

Yelp
Wasn't impressed with service or the hostess. Soup was served cold and they never bought out silverware or napkins.

Yelp
Amazing experience at Torne Valley Vineyards. Upon entering I was immediately greeted by a friendly host who encouraged us to do the wine tasting ($10/ person) that allowed you to choose 5 out of many options of wines to taste. I didn't get the woman's name that tended to us for the tastings but she was so hospitable! Super knowledgeable about the wines and an absolute sweetheart. Kimmy, the owner, was also super sweet and came by our table to say hello. We learned our favorite red wine "Kimmy's crush" is actually named after her! My favorite white wine is the seyval blanc with sweet summertime coming in second. Live music was a bonus. Now let's talk food! The chicken wings were perfection! Cheese platter was a great started as it came out pretty quickly... the sweet cranberry vanilla goat cheese was divine! Ordered some shrimp tacos that aren't on the menu but was offered as a special.. not bad but also nothing to write home about. Saw a couple burgers come out to tables near by.. would definitely order one next time! Also the paninis were pretty enviable! The grounds are open for you to walk around, no grapes as of yet but definitely plan on returning in July/august when they are harvesting. *COVID* staff are all masked. Social distance in effect. Clean bathrooms. Thanks Torne Valley! We'll be back!

Yelp
I was searching for a nearby winery and this was the only one open on Easter Sunday! It is only an hour drive from the Brooklyn/Queens area. I came here with my fiancé and his family. We started with a wine tasting by the bar, which is $8 for 8 wines. There are more whites than reds available. I was able to swap out one of the sweeter wines to taste a new rose that was available, since I am not into sweet wines that much. After the tasting we selected two bottles that we liked the most and purchased them at the table to have with some food. The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside. There is also seating inside as well as on the veranda which is covered but still gives you the outside view. We started with a cheese & charcuterie plate and then got some entrees. This is not your typical winery food but it was still tasty! There was live music playing outside. There are a few cute photo opportunities on property, including the little bear statue, wine barrels, and the beautiful mansion itself!

Yelp
It's a nice property but I'm not impressed. My friend drove an hour and 20 minutes to wait 2 hours on line. I joined her about an hour in because of bad traffic (a 2 hour drive). She was able to go in and buy tickets for the tasting. The ground has a lot of land so we were confused why the outdoor tasting area was so small. Nevertheless, we finally get seated around 4 (2 hr wait for her, 1 hr for me). We got a choice of 5 out of about 14 wines including white, red and rosé. The service we received was cold and disengaged. I don't know if that's the norm. It was a mediocre experience. P.s. if it interests you, I wouldn't say there's a particular dress code. I saw people in t-shirts and jeans.

Yelp
Very special place for a very special day. The service was a bit slow, but it was compensated with a very tasteful food selection.

Yelp
Stop no. 1 With my good close friends as party of three our adventure starts with Torne Valley Vineyards. Wine tastings of $8.00 for 8 pcs (6 whites and 2 reds). Their tasting glasses, oddly, do not have their company logo or name printed as I have a nice collection of previous wineries' glasses. I enjoyed the Sweet Summertime (semi-sweet red) and Traminette (dry red). Our female server was attentive and informative to explain the wine contents and their grape origins from Seneca Lake in NYS's Finger Lakes region. What baffled me was her unknowingly false statement of their reds "low sulfites." It is proven false claim as my friend and fellow Yelper, Marlene G. who is highly allergic and quickly developed visible red rashes. The female server opened her mouth stunning widely without a response for comment as her lack of defense to counter a false claim. Wine sulfites is sulfur dioxide (SO2), a preservative that's widely used in wine making (and most food industries) for its antioxidant and antibacterial properties. SO2 plays an important role in preventing oxidization and maintaining a wine's freshness. (source: Wikipedia) I like their tasting card as it is well organized and very detailed with photos of mini white labels. I am highly enamored with their grape descriptions as I highly desired to take it home but it was laminated and not for customers to remove. Torne Valley Vineyards' wine labels designs are very whimsical and I enamored with their autumn leaves sketches. I like the craved wooden black bears on their property. The greenery landscape is beautiful, but do not expect to see grapes growing. Business card and flyers are readily available for grabs. Our party of three were baking in the outdoor's summer blazing humidity and heat as there was live music and entertainment of a two piece band. We ordered the Cabernet Franc (dry red) and cheese with grapes platter enduring this mediocre two piece band. This two piece band (female lead vocal and lead guitar; male guitar and percussion) lack energy and lack enthusiasm as very stolid. The cheese and crackers were abundant as it was my combined breakfast and lunch. When requesting specific songs as "Mother" by Danzig and "Lola" by The Kinks this indifferent and mediocre band does NOT know these songs nor the bands who originated these songs. Whoa, The Kinks are classic rock which any musician should know. I fear to place my song requests in as this mediocre 2-piece band would not know "It's Time" by Imagine Dragons, "Best Day Of My Life" by American Authors, "I Miss You" by Stevie Nicks, "Here's To Us" by Halestorm, "No Scrub" by TLC, "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction, or "The Color Of Right" by Rush. Torne Valley Vineyards should seek quality four (4) piece bands: lead vocals, lead guitar, bass guitar, and drums, percussion, and the latter three perform backing vocals.

Yelp
Beautiful vineyard! My husband and i loved the wine tasting. Selection of 5 wines to taste. Our favorite was the Diamond wine! So fresh and subtle sweet! Gorgeous patio with plenty of tables. The food choices were good and not to pricey. Live singer on a Saturday. We will most definitely be back soon! Oh and restrooms inside (huge plus)!

Yelp
Came here for a grateful dead event. Torne Valley Vineyards is in a beautiful location for sure, a nice hidden gem! The music was good and the band and people were very enthusiastic. The prices were a bit steep though. $20 to park, all food was at least $5-6 for basic hot dogs, burgers, and fries. Wine and beer was about $7 a glass or you could buy a bottle which would be more economical. The mixed drinks were at least $13-$15 which is a bit ridiculous for an outdoor event, we're close to NYC not in it! You could not go into the building during the event. There were portapotties which is always EW. But they were fairly clean, just sucks to go into on a hot, humid day. The white wine I had was super sweet which is what I wanted for the day, I'm curious to see what other types of wine they have. Overall, nice atmosphere, but I'd be more curious to see what the place is like on a regular day, or why not open up the winery on a Sunday during the event?

Yelp
We were looking for a winery near Bergen county without having to go to the Warwick, NY area and stumbled upon this place on yelp. We were not disappointed at all. The winery is basically a small estate and the grounds are absolutely stunning. We went in the winter and it was tastefully decorated for the holidays but I imagine it would be a great place to go in the summer/spring and relax outside or on the patio. We did a tasting and the wines were quite nice. There were a few sweet wines but I'm more of a dry girl and we really enjoyed their dryer wines, specifically the reds that they had. They were pretty generous with the tasting and had chocolates and crackers to go with the tasting which was a nice touch. The winery also has an on-site restaurant (limited menu) but we enjoyed everything we had and it was great to not have to lug our own food with us like we do at most wineries. They also had a band playing. Definitely a spot I will return to as long as I am in Bergen and recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a nice winery without having to put in a big drive.

Yelp
The food prices are crazy for what you get. The sandwiches don't even come with a side of anything but they still charge an exorbitant price. The service was horrible our waitress came to take our order and then never saw her again we had to flag down random servers for water or napkins. Then they have the audacity to charge you an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 6 when we saw our server once there whole meal!! You're better off going to Warwick for the wineries.

Yelp
What a nice place for wine tasting, great wine good food, live music. There is no reservation so if you don't want to wait for a table come early, it gets really packed. Tastings are only done outside, but you can make reservations for inside you need to call ahead. Service is great and the staff are super nice.

Yelp
"Idyllic" is the perfect adjective for our experience! Perfect weather, amazing live music, delicious food and wine, and top notch service. Life really doesn't get any better! A MUST!

Yelp
I was given a gift card to use for this winery. I understand that it expired--1 year later, but it was during the peak of COVID-19. I tried to redeem it just a few months after the expiration date; however, they would not accept my gift card. I come here frequently... I am very disappointed with the management. I believe they did not handle this situation appropriately.
