I visited this restaurant in Tokyo with my family after seeing a long queue during lunchtime and decided to try it for dinner.
The food itself was good and the sashimi was
fresh. Unfortunately, the overall experience was affected by poor communication and unexpected charges.
There were 7 of us, and we ordered 6 dishes along with 1 drink. After placing our order, the manager rushed over to confirm whether we were only ordering one drink, which made us feel pressured to order additional drinks even though we did not want them.
We were then served appetizers that we did not order. We assumed these were complimentary, as some restaurants do this, but when we received the bill, we were charged ¥2,695 for them without any prior explanation.
Later, a waiter served us a sashimi platter and explained that although we ordered a specific cut of tuna, but they were giving us other cuts as a compliment. However, after we had already eaten a few pieces, he returned and said that we had not actually ordered the platter and shared that it needed to be added to our bill. At that point, we had no choice but to pay.
Overall, the food was good and some staff members were helpful, but communication could be greatly improved, especially for tourists.
