"Roosevelt’s craft beer specialist Toronado — the offshoot of a well-respected San Francisco classic — has decided to close its doors permanently, as first reported by Washington Beer Blog. An announcement on Facebook cited an “uncertain future” due to impacts over the novel coronavirus. The pub, which opened in 2014, was well-known for its extensive list of craft beer and whiskeys. Last March, Toronado Seattle’s original owner, Matt Bonney, died at the age of 45, leaving the bar in the care of his wife, Lynn, and his brother, Phil. In the new Facebook message, Phil mentioned that the next phase for Toronado’s legacy may be collaborations down the road with other breweries, including Urban Family, on a beer called “The Book of Bonney.”" - Gabe Guarente

Friendly staff. Really good burgers (other food looked good too). And of course a large selection of regional craft beers. Lots of events. Also an extensive collection of whiskeys and other liquors for those inclined towards that. Definitely worth a visit.

This place is a moderate sized bar/restaurant that boasts 40 taps of beer, mixed drinks and an impressive menu. Street parking is available nearby for no charge and the location is easily found off of the 65th St exit. Inside the restaurant, there are tables for dining as well as a clearly designated bar. Bartender has a friendly attitude, demonstrating expertise in drink craftsman and beer selection. Owner was present on the day of visit and appears positively involved with the establishment and its guests. A new menu was recently released and it features special fare such as beer BBQ shortribs, standards like macaroni, a fresh seasonal pasta dish and several homemade desserts. On this visit, I had the opportunity to talk with Chef Joey and learn a bit about his culinary creations and what inspired him. He was very passionate about his work and seemed to always be looking for new ideas for the menu. It was evident that all of the ingredients are fresh, local and homemade with plenty of care. The beer BBQ ribs were suggested along with some "ginger-cornbread" and bourbon glazed carrots. The ribs came out perfectly, falling off the bone. Some may say that there are some fatty parts to the meat, but pork short ribs generally have a higher fat content and these ones were cooked to perfection so it wasn't noticeable. The ginger-cornbread was full of flavour and definitely a suggested menu item. Desserts available include everything from a cast-iron fruit cobbler to beer infused ice-cream. Their brunch special runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30-2:30 and features local favorites such as homemade beerbread french toast, eggs benedict and other commonly found breakfast entrées. The bathrooms are clean and the restaurant is generally well kept. This impressive corner spot is a place I recommend for anyone seeking to try new beers as well as the well-palated food critic. Toronado will not disappoint.

They have a good selection of beer and friendly staff. We went for a Guam night and it was busy. We ordered food off of their themed menu. The ribs were really good, fall-off-the-bone and tasty. We also tried a vegetarian dish on the themed menu. It was ok. After eating, we were still hungry. Because it was busy, we had long waits between getting service. It's understandable, just a little inconvenient. We decided to get dessert elsewhere so we didn't have to wait.

Decent tap list, food was good. Don't know if I'll get the mac and cheese again, not sure how I feel about veggies in my m&c. The nachos were tasty though.

This was the worst dining experience to welcome me to Seattle for the 1st time. The food was waaaay over priced for what you get. And I'm sure our group spent well over $1000 here. Ordered Chicken BBQ sandwich which came out with no BBQ. It was small and dried out. Food was so bad the picture attached shows how much food we left in disgust! Staff was rude and blamed us for the slow service. Here the customers are never right so don't waste your time or money. Save yourself!

Probably the best Toronado location I've been to which I am sure is contrary to popular opinion. I'll admit that it was probably the time of day I visited compared to the locations in San Diego and San Francisco which were packed when I went. The beer selection is excellent and the service was very good too.

I love this bar! Build your own macaroni, yum! Been here for several events and always have a great time. Servers are very fun and personal.. always great service. Usually not too busy so you'll be able to get a table most day/nights. Many local brews on draft. Again, food is amazing. Right on bus line and has street parking.

Great beer bar and solid food offerings. They have a wide variety of whiskey, too, but I don't drink it seems while it looks top shelf I'd look to others to provide more guidance there. The staff are really nice people who are also beer fans. Great neighborhood place. Highly recommended.
