On the Grid : Toronto Dominion Centre

"Smack in the middle of Toronto’s financial district, TD Centre's towers, designed by the legendary Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, cover 4.3 million square feet and house Canada’s largest and most dynamic business community. "The Pasture", created by Canadian sculptor, Joe Fafard, consists of seven life-sized cows that populate the grassy courtyard and create the perfect setting to take in the striking architecture. This green space nestled amongst the urban setting offers a refreshing sense of calmness. TD Centre is also home to an Inuit Art Gallery, Design Exchange (Canada's Design Museum) and an impressive art collection consisting of entirely Canadian artists." - Jacknife

Update - January 28, 2025 After FIVE WEEKS of treating me and my daughter like criminals, TD returned the money that was stolen by their bank machine to my daughter's bank account! TD hired a third party to "investigate" what my daughter and I have been telling them all along. The proof was visible all along on the cameras at the bank, but instead of thoroughly investigating the matter, they made us jump through hoops! I suspect they thought we would give up!! It's unfortunate that the TD bank made us feel like criminals, when they are the ones being charged with money laundering!! A simple apology or acknowledgement would have gone a long way in keeping us as customers!!! Update - January 6, 2025 I received a call from the "Customer Care Manager" (Office of the President). I was initially pleased that TD was offering me assistance in this matter, however the entire conversation was a waste of time. This was an attempt to placate me, but it backfired! They refused to assist me since the matter related to my daughter (hello, did you read the review??) I accepted that fact and suggested they contact my daughter, but they refused! So why the @#$#% did you even contact me???? January 4, 2025 BEWARE - DO NOT deposit cash into the bank machines! My daughter deposited her rent money into the TD banking machine in our neighbourhood and a week later it still has not shown up in her account! She called the phone number on the banking machine when the funds did not show up in her account and an investigation was opened. We visited the branch in person and was told that the banking machine was operated by a third party and they had NO access to any of the transactions that occurred at the banking machine! We have to wait for the investigation to be completed! This is incompetent, deceitful and wrong in so many ways: - I had to borrow money so both me and my daughter could pay our respective rent! - Why are the transactions that occur at the ATM at the local branch not available to that branch? -Why am I paying service fees for the bank's mistake? -Where is my daughter's money? Now I know why people don't trust or use banking machines!!

Highly recommend if you are archutecture fan! MVDR is one of my most favourite architect, and it was amazing to see one of his legacy works in real life. Stunning building, especially at sunset. Try to catch the atrium with their yellow squarw lights on, creating a modern but liminal effect. Also, find and read the memorial plaque about Mies Van der Rohe.
