The Best Boba in Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley

"Torotea is a mom-and-pop tea shop that doesn’t serve traditional boba. Owned by a medical doctor with a deep appreciation for tea, the menu has some of the most unique selections you can find in California. During its first few months in operation, lines stretched up to two hours, and the shop now uses a Yelp waitlist during busy periods. Torotea stands out for its unique drinks and house-made toppings, including tapioca mochi and jelly, which are made daily. Tea leaves are sourced directly from farms in Taiwan. The signature popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi features a blend of Assam black tea, creamy milk, and caramel-like brown sugar tapioca mochi. For something refreshing, the tea mocktails, such as the mulberry oolong — made with real mulberries and freshly brewed light-roasted oolong tea — are also standout options." - Kristie Hang

Google
To be honest, this is the most unique and BEST TOPPING & TEA store. It’s incredibly refreshing, light, and flavorful without being too sweet or heavy. Their seasonal drinks are so good like the bamboo jade oolong milk tea is my favorite milk tea. I especially love their tapioca Mochi. It’s slightly chewy, but not too much, and it doesn’t harden like boba after a while. I even tried leaving it in the fridge for a few days without ice, and it was still great. The topping still had a nice texture. I recommend going on weekdays because the wait usually doesn’t exceed 30 minutes. Definitely join their Yelp waitlist online before you get there on the weekend, I like that I don’t have to stand in a physical line in the heat or cold anymore. Personally, I like to get 2 drinks just for myself so that I don’t have to come everyday. 😂 I’ve never been to a tea shop this many times consecutively for months. Highly recommend trying it out!

Google
New boba shop in town that went viral. So aesthetic and their drinks are so fresh! Highlights of the menu: 1. Dalgona cloud top Koan-in oolong 2. Jasmine matcha latte 3. Popcorn milk tea with brown sugar

Google
Ordered the Roasted Barley Ice Tea with Black Tea Tapioca Mochi. This was a refreshing cold drink with the default "perfect ice" and "perfect sugar". The barley taste is distinct but not bitter or distasteful. The black tea tapioca mochi are nice bite-sized toppings that add a slight sweetness to the drink. This location recently opened so there was a line even on a summer weeknight just before closing. Please stay within the marked line areas in line because they do not want to disrupt neighboring businesses in this plaza. Parking here is accessible with sufficient space.

Google
good for uniquely flavored drinks and house made mochi/jelly. their mochi tastes more like jelly though. not bad but their jasmine oolong didn’t taste like either tea. ngl it’s cool to try but i prefer regular boba shops with tapioca pearls.

Google
Torotea is easily one of the best boba drink spots I’ve experienced in the USA. The tea was exceptional, and the unique jelly added a delightful twist to the drinks. I also loved the vibe and atmosphere inside—it’s a great place to relax and enjoy your drink. The only downside was the long wait; I ended up waiting about an hour. Also, there’s a limit of two drinks per person, but both of the drinks I got were fantastic—perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Despite the wait, it’s definitely worth it for such a quality experience!

Google
Best boba I have ever had. Reasonable price. Doesn't take like sugar water and feeling real tea.

This may be my new favorite tea shop in all of Southern California. I got there on a Sunday afternoon and had to join the virtual queue which took about an hour. They're very upfront about this so there's no long line waiting in front of the store. I got the creme brulee milk and the Jasmine milk tea with osmanthus jelly and both the drinks were absolutely delicious. Their default ice and and sugar levels are is perfect ice, which is less ice, and the drinks were automatically ✨not too sweet✨. The creme brulee milk was my favorite out of the two I got. It had a nice thick custardy topping with a bruleed sugar crust on top. The milk goes perfectly sweetened and the brown sugar Mochi squares were exactly as they are described. They are soft, deliciously mochi tasting, with Brown sugar flavor shining through. Every favor worked so well together ..in harmony with one another. The custard flavor was unique, I've never had a flavor quite like it before. The Jasmine milk tea with osmanthus jelly (+0.50) was nice floral notes and the jellys had a nice bite. All in all I'm definitely coming back here again! I highly recommend :)

Google
Most aesthetic milk tea place in OC! Located in a small plaza with convenient parking, I visited on a weekday and had no issues finding a spot, but it seems like it gets busy during peak times. It's a cute shop with a beautiful, Instagram-worthy interior! The staff were so friendly and gave me helpful recommendations! I tried the popcorn milk tea, and I was impressed. The sweetness was perfectly balanced, and the popcorn flavor was subtle--neither too buttery nor too syrupy. The Brown sugar tapioca mochi had an excellent texture! Fresh, with just the right amount of chewiness. I loved it... I'd say it tastes like luxury milk tea! This place is better suited for takeout or a quick stop, as there isn't much seating, and many people come and go, so it's not ideal for sitting and chatting with friends. If Torotea were closer to me, it would absolutely become my go-to milk tea spot! Highly recommend giving it a try!

Yelp
This laces really lives up to its name my god my friends and I got the Popcorn Milktea w/ Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi : 11/10 absolutely delicious and reminds me of the popcorn jelly bean Ember Milk Tea : 12/10

Yelp
Took about 40min from the time I put my name on the waitlist around 8pm on a Saturday to the time I got my drink. I really don't think a drink is worth waiting 40min for but I do not live nearby so begrudgingly waited. They closed the waitlist on Yelp so I couldn't even join it until I got there in person. Ordered the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca since it was the most unique offering and seemed to be the most popular. Got it less sweet and as someone who doesn't like overly sweet drinks it definitely is on the light side of sweet. I didn't mind it at all but I think the perfect level would have been fine too. They don't seem heavy handed on the sweetness here. The popcorn flavor is subtle and interesting, I enjoyed it but I wouldn't say it's a super standout amazing drink that was worth the wait. I loved the brown sugar tapioca much more than boba. Very nice, chewy texture. The drinks do seem like quality, handcrafted drinks with quality ingredients. As a lover of nutty, roasty oolong and barley teas, I'd really like to come back and try their ember and koan-im oolong teas and barley tapioca next time I'm in the area. Maybe on a weekday during non-peak hours. Ain't no way I'm waiting 40min for a drink here again!

Yelp
Wow! Amazing drink I was wondering why it was crowded on a Wednesday night Inside cute! Has Japanese decorum with some benches to sit against the wall I ordered cassia milk tea with tapioca mochi. Has a slight coffee taste without the caffeine. Unique flavor! I would come back

Yelp
The wait is long, but very manageable. You can place yourself on the waitlist via Yelp from anywhere. You'll get a text when it's your time to enter the store. The parking lot is quite limited, so I would try to arrive once you're like ~15th on the waitlist. Once inside, the process is relatively quick, from ordering to receiving your drink. The store has a clean and modern aesthetic, very nice vibes. Samples are available, and the staff also explains their teas well. We got the Popcorn Milk Tea and the Ember Milk Tea. Even through the Popcorn Milk Tea was the signature, I liked the Ember Milk Tea better. The Ember is a mix of oolong and barley tea. It has a strong roasted flavor that perfectly complements the creaminess and sweetness of the tea. The roasted barley jelly is also delicious. The Popcorn Milk Tea is pretty good too - I think it tastes more like a wafer ice cream cone rather than popcorn. I still like it though. And the brown sugar mochi is sweet, so it goes well with it. Actually, we liked Torotea so much that we came back the next day. This time, we got the Matcha Einspanner and the Pinewood Milk Tea. If you go right now, they might still be giving out samples of the Pinewood Milk Tea. I really liked it. The Matcha Einspanner was also good. I would pass on the straw for this - you get a better ratio of vanilla cloud to latte if you sip through the lid. I probably wouldn't get matcha here again though because their other teas are just so much better.

Yelp
4.5 stars. After a long day of work in the diamond bar area, I drove over here for a drink. The worker greeted me and invited me to try their free sample drinks. It was my first time so I asked for recommendations. I decided to try their best seller, the popcorn milk tea. I asked for extra sweet and more ice, which they gave me in an extra cup which is okay. Some places don't add extra ice to the drink as to not water it down. They don't have boba, but instead this brown sugar topping which was pretty good. The drink itself was good, but even though I asked for extra sweet I would say it's normal sweet. All in all not bad at all. If they had a large size and could add extra ice and actually make it extra sweet then I believe they would have a winning drink.

Yelp
This has to be the best tea in SGV! I love the aesthetic here, there's seating and the staff are great handling the waitlist, offering recommendations, and are quick with drinks. My favorite drink was seasonal it was the Bamboo Jade Oolong but, they replaced it with Pinewood & it's just as good w/o being overly sweet. Will be coming again to try new seasonal drinks!

Yelp
AHHH this review is way overdue!! Torotea is a MUST TRY for those in the area (or willing to make the drive) for some bomb ass craft milk tea! The flavors, the uniqueness, the atmosphere, the vibes-- I will admit, it is a little pricy but it's definitely a positive memorable experience. Sooo, something worth noting is that they don't sell boba here-- as in the little black pearls. I understand that milk tea as a drink is universally referred to as "boba" but just wanted to make that clear. Instead, Torotea does tapioca mochi, which they make fresh in house. Similar texture but slightly softer with a different shape. You've also got a couple flavor options to choose from. My favorite is brown sugar. Honestly, I wish all boba/tea shops had mochi as a add-on option because it's literally so good! I love the texture so much, it pairs really well with their milk teas. In my most recent visit I ordered a popcorn milk tea with brown sugar mochi, and it was bombbb ughhh I wanted to order a second time lol. Not too sweet and you could taste the freshness of their house brewed tea and the layering of flavors. Obviously a place like this (especially since it's been going around on social media a lot lately) has the potential to grow a long waiting line, so it's really hit or miss on how busy they are. When I visited, I didn't experience a wait, but my friends who are frequent customers have told me they've waited over half an hour on one occasion. Parking is also somewhat limited because the location of the shop is tucked into a tiny, unsuspecting strip mall (??) Either way, if you've got the time to kill and looking for something new, I'd say it's worth it. Will definitely be returning in the future!

Yelp
These days it seems like very few places live up to their hype on Instagram or tiktok. But Torotea kept popping up constantly- after hearing rave reviews from several people and being so close I finally decided to give it a try. There is a parking lot so finding a space shouldn't be a problem. I had remembered seeing ridiculously long lines when I would pass by (the main reason which kept me from stopping in) but they started using a Yelp waitlist which eliminated that issue. So I joined and waited my turn. Once inside, I immediately fell in love with the aesthetic! It's SO modern and chic! The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful, handing out tea samples and answering all of my newbie questions. The tea quality here is in point! I normally HATE any type of flower tea, but the ones I tried here were amazing! Since I visited with other people I was lucky enough to try a few different drinks- the Matcha einspanner and mint teas were all SO, so good!!! Exceeded my expectations so much that I ended up going back the next day and two days after that (LOL)! Anywho, I have talked to people who literally drove over 30 minutes to come get their drinks here and now I completely understand why! DEFINITELY give Torotea a try if you haven't already- you will NOT be disappointed!!!

Yelp
Make sure to waitlist on the system to order!!! Very cute aesthetic interior but a small place. They have an efficient process to order and pick up though. Misty Oolong reminded me of a bit of green tea and chrysanthemum and is light and not as a deep flavor as expected. They have cool cloud tops like Crème Brûlée and toppings like Tapioca Mochi(jelly texture) .

Yelp
Torotea in diamond bar. Lines out the door. Especially on weekends. Lucky I was near when they opened and it was still pretty busy on a Tuesday. Cute Little shop. I liked the decor. Display of toppings that you should not skip. Lots of options to adjust ice and sweetness. Got the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca. Excellent. Unique. Nice tea flavor and yes it did have essence of popcorn. I love it. The toppings are legit. Really sets this place apart from the others. Misty oolong milk tea. Also very good. Black tea tapioca milk balls was great. Excellent texture. Very fun unique drinks. I really love this spot

Yelp
Drinks ordered 1. Popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi 2. Dalgona cloud top Koanim Oolong Latte 3. Cassia milk tea with Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi × 2 The store ambience was really clean and nice. It was interesting how they had a waiting list to enter into the store. Service was exceptional where they answered all our questions and suggested their recommendations. In terms of the drinks, I personally didn't like the popcorn milk tea. If you like popcorn as a drink, I would recommend. But it wasn't my cup of tea. The Cassia Milk tea was good and had a nutty flavor. Maybe I was thinking of the mochi like rice cake balls, so the initial texture of the tapioca mochi caught be off guard. It is more like sticky pudding, and interesting. I would recommend trying ToroTea at least once.

Yelp
After only 2 visits, I can proclaim Torotea to be my favorite boba place! Here's my reasons why: Ember Milk Tea w/ Barley Jelly - the cashier mentioned that this was a mixture of 2 different teas, and the flavor was like, roasted, and nutty, with the earthy notes enhanced by the barley jelly. This one was my favorite. Mulberry Oolong Tea w/ Osmanthus Jelly - the two cashiers both recommended this, and it reminds me of a slightly tart and refreshing tea. The tea has a more medicinal taste, which I totally did not mind at all. The jelly also adds another layer of depth. Matcha Einspanner - Very creamy , good amount of matcha flavor, and not too crazy on the cream, which I appreciated. Popcorn Milk Tea w/ Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi - The milk tea itself tastes just like popcorn; very nutty, which I love. As for the mochi, the brown sugar flavor really comes through. All together, it reminds me of a boba milk tea, but much more elevated! Overall, I highly recommend both the Popcorn Milk Tea w/ Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi & Ember Milk Tea w/ Barley Jelly, with the Popcorn Milk tea being the standout. Also as a note, all my drinks I made no adjustments, and they were all the perfect amount of sweetness. The environment is very modern aesthetically pleasing, and the workers are also super friendly and easy to talk to. Note though that if you visit on the weekend, there will be long lines (can be more than 1 hour!). You'll have to add yourself to the Yelp waitlist before being able to order. My first visit, I was able to be in and out around 30 minutes, but my second visit I was waiting for 1 hour & 30 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend planning ahead of time!

Yelp
Torotea is a tea shop located in Diamond Bar. Make sure to sign up for the waitlist through Yelp because there's always a line. The store itself is super cute and aesthetic, very minimal and earthy. They have an organized system with their line and even samples when you first walk in. The service was standard and the food came out pretty fast for how busy they were. Drinks We ordered the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi for $7 and the creme brûlée ice milk with brown sugar tapioca mochi for $7.50. Both drinks were amazing. They were super creamy and not too sweet. The mochi are square shaped and less chewy but more light than boba, which we really liked. The popcorn milk tea was buttery and tasted exactly like popcorn with a mix of creamy milk. The creme brûlée ice milk had a nice burnt vanilla taste. Overall, we definitely believe the hype is worth it. Overall | 4.8 The ambiance + service: 4.5/5 The soft serve: 5/5 The price: $

Yelp
Service was really nice & helpful. Decor inside was a vibe. Wait was kinda long but we decided to wait to check out the hype. We got the popcorn milk tea, jasmine matcha latte, & pinewood milk tea. Popcorn milk tea w brown sugar tapioca mochi: I got it less sweet so it tasted kinda watered down. Popcorn flavor is like the buttery flavor, which is very interesting. But texture of tapioca mochi is soooo good!! I would recommend getting this full sweet. I'd give it a 6.9/10. Jasmine matcha latte - Got this for the next day to try and it was really good the next day. I felt like the flavors paired well together, but it did kind of taste like a green thai tea. I'd give it a 8.5/10. Pinewood milk tea - This is their seasonal drink and it's really freaking good. They gave samples for it & it sold me. I'd give this one a 10/10! Overall it was interesting to try the drinks, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back. If I was in the area/friends wanted to try it then I would though!

Yelp
Thankfully the line wasn't too bad and it moved fast. Service was friendly and efficient. Their teas are very light but yummy. The jasmine oolong and cassia milk tea were both delicious.
google avatar

Young L.

Yelp
The mochi "boba" is so unique and delicious. If don't finish my drink in one sitting and leave my drink in the fridge, the mochi holds shape and texture without getting soggy. I had the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar mochi and it was delightful. Popcorn flavor is perfectly subtle and not overly sweet. I had the pinewood milk tea sample and that was delicious too. Waitlist at a boba shop is weird but it makes it so much easier for parking since lot would not be able to accommodate the demand for this shop.
google avatar

Yelp
Matcha einspanner was very goood 9/10 the cream was very good! The place smelled good and clean and the decor is very minimalistic which fit the vibes. They were nice as well!

Yelp
Torotea is most definitely the spot right now. After seeing all the internet hype, strategically made it a point to visit at a non-peak hour and in turn, only waited in line for ~5 mins. The shop sits in a strip plaza that has been around for a long while so when stepping inside, I immediately forgot the hustle and bustle of DB Blvd. The interior aesthetic is vibey, intimate, and the neutral color palette is calming. The cashier was extremely friendly and despite the line building up, made it a point to make conversation and answer our questions. They had a couple samples out which made it easy for me to make my drink selection: Uva Milk Tea less sweet. Skipped the mochi boba this time around but will not let that happen again. Drinks were out pretty quickly and was able to snag some seats inside to enjoy our cute little bevy's. Will absolutely be back to explore more of the creative Torotea menu.

Yelp
Don't fret when you see the massive clusters of people outside the shop, or when you see the 2hr+ wait on Yelp waitlist -- the wait is WORTH it! The staff (including front door bouncer) are welcoming, friendly, and well-informed. Ensure to stay nearby when you're in the Top 2 of the queue. Parking can be difficult (no street parking) and this establishment requires patrons to be within 10 miles to enlist. My favorite part is the take-out friendly nature of the drinks due to the mochi "boba" innovation. Slightly more chewy than their tapioca equivalents, these concoctions retain their original form even when your drinks have been in the fridge overnight. Writing this review while I muscle through my 78-minute wait to get my drink!
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Came by again today and was lucky to not run into any waiting time! I got an osmanthus citrus refresher with perfect ice, and perfect osmanthus jelly. It was very refreshing and a good pick me up!

Yelp
Went during a weekday afternoon, and there was about a 30 min wait! This was my first time having to join a waitlist for a boba shop lol, but it did make the whole process more organized and you can wait in your car in the meantime. I do see why there has been so much hype around this place though; good quality tea drinks with healthier boba alternatives, like their unique mochi toppings! 'Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi': Their most popular drink, I wasn't sure what to expect but I felt like this had more of a toasted butterscotch taste then popcorn, but it was still pretty yummy! The mochi topping was so soft and chewy, the perfect in between of a boba and jelly texture. 'Misty Oolong Milk Tea': if you are a fan of aromatic oolong tea flavor, including myself, you'll love and appreciate this drink! With no adjustments, the drink itself was subtlety sweet, making it all around the perfectly balanced milk tea. This place is small, with limited seats as you wait to pick up your drinks. But the staff are friendly and helpful!

Yelp
My favorite tea spot in the area, I come practically every week! The teas are high quality and consistently delicious. The toppings are also unique, my favorite is the black tea tapioca mochi. All the workers are super friendly and offer samples of the tea. Don't be scared by the long wait, it's well worth it! If the waitlist is open you can join from home and save time. Definitely check out Torotea if you're looking for a place with unique, quality teas and toppings.

Yelp
The drinks are good here. The inside is really pretty, cute, well designed, and unique. I saw that they have self order kiosk pending installation. We were the only ones upon entering so we were able to quickly order and get our drinks. They also had some samples to try by the front register. Calamansi oolong - my favorite, sweet and a little tangy UVA black ice tea - very fragrant, but has an very strong after taste Dalgona latte - not super strong flavored, but still good

Yelp
Good drinks but I wasn't blown away; maybe just what I ordered or from this spot being hyped up so much. My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday right after lunch and was quoted a wait time of about 30-40 minutes. It took about 35-40 minutes so this was an accurate quote. What we ordered: -Popcorn Milk Tea w/Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi: The popcorn flavor in the milk tea itself is pretty subtle. I was expecting the flavor to be a bit stronger, but this was still good and enjoyable. I really enjoyed the drinkable mochi. It is pretty comparable to the size and texture of a grass jelly but with a bit more stretchiness/chew. -Ember Milk Tea w/Barley Jelly: Would NOT order this again. I typically love roasted teas and barley/rice flavors such as in a Genmaicha, and it was a popular option listed on their torotea creations so I thought it would be good to order, but there is such thing as a tea being too toasted. It had a very odd flavor similar to the savory notes in a soy sauce. I don't know how else to explain it but I really did not like this drink and neither did my boyfriend. I had to pawn it off to a family member after taking a few sips. The shop seems to have rotating teas as the menu indicated some teas were still being processed and temporarily not offered on the menu. There was also an option being offered through samples that was not listed on the main menu so it seems they have different tea variations depending on what is in season/available to them. The mochis/jellies were really enjoyable but the teas can be really hit or miss depending on your preferences. The shop and parking: The shop itself is pretty small and there is limited seating inside. I liked the minimal wood/straw style and the bathroom was clean. There was an employee waiting near the entrance who asked for our group size and quoted us with a wait time when putting our name on the list. We returned to our car to wait until we got a text from the shop. Once inside, we ordered then waited an additional 10 minutes for the drinks to come out. Parking was easy to find right out front despite there being a long queue for the shop. Spots are shared with the other businesses in the small strip mall. Overall: I enjoyed one of the drinks ordered and would return to try other drinks offered.

Yelp
Had to check this place out after hearing about it. I joined the waitlist since it was the weekend and heard it would be extra long. Luckily, we waited only about 5 minutes once we got there. I was surprised how small the place was which made sense of how easily the place can fill up and create a line outside. Since it was my first time there, I wanted to get more info on the drinks and where to check in but as I approached the front, the girl working there saw me and just passed me by. She then went outside to talk to another worker who I realized was checking people in. After several attempts to catch their attention, I checked in. Order: popcorn milk tea and crème brûlée milk tea. I was not blown away by either but can acknowledge the subtle flavors and smoothness of both. The mochi jelly was a delicious change to the traditional boba and the cream on the brûlée was like a pudding dessert on top of milk. This place runs on the pricier side with each drink averaging $6.50-7.50 but I guess that's becoming more of the norm nowadays.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon, and the line was insanely long. It took us two hours to get in and order, but the drinks came out in less than 10 minutes. I tried the Matcha Einspanner and Popcorn Milk Tea, both were decent, but were they worth the wait? I'm not so sure. I'll have to come back on a weekday to try more of their teas and see if the experience is any different.

Yelp
Finally able to visit this tea time favorite. Wow! It was definitely worth the visit. I should have listened to Kimberly, we arrived without joining the waitlist and had to wait about 15-20min just to go in. From there it's another wait line inside before ordering. Not too bad but if you're pressed for time it may not fit your schedule. Friendly staff all working together keeping customers happy. Offering some tea samples while we waited was a nice touch to keep our patience at ease and amuse bouche our tastebuds. We tried the Popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi. Clean flavors that resound to velvety perfection, with hidden morsels of slightly sweetened tapioca mochi. A delight to slowly sink your teeth into. Osmanthus citrus refresher was just that.. a brisk, clean spritz of citrus, like the gentle misty spray from the white water of a wave. Perfectly sweetened was indeed perfect. Not overly sweet and not too watered down. They know what they're doing. The house made jelly's were amazing! I wish I could purchase these on their own they're so good! Vibes inside reminded us of a modernized Tatooine. With the chill tunes and buzz of customers we enjoyed our few minutes of being able to sit and soak it all in. Can't wait to try more of what they have to offer. Will definitely return!

Yelp
I came to Torotea on a Saturday, and the waitlist was so long. We waited for hours! I've never waited that long for boba before, so I was expecting the drink to be mind-blowing because of all the hype. I had the Cassia, and while it was good, I wasn't completely blown away. I enjoyed it but wished it had a stronger tea flavor. That being said, the interior is super cute! Walking in, it felt like stepping into a luxury store. The shop smell really nice and it really added to the experience. Overall, it's a nice spot, but i wouldn't come back on a Saturday.

Yelp
I love how their tea flavor is strong and you can adjust the sweetness of the drink! They do offer samples first and you can go from there. The employee was very kind and helpful with all the recommendations. I'm not really a topping person but you have to try the jelly and mochi they have to offer!

Yelp
My wife have been wanting to come try torotea after a recommendation from her close friend to try her colleagues tea shop. Lucky for us it's near us and we stopped by yesterday after dropping off our oldest at school. Torotea is located within a multiunit single level plaza. From the outside it looks like a typical shop, but once you step inside you are transported to a calming serene retreat with wide open space and integrated style bench seating along the right wall. The hostess was very welcoming and offered us a sample of their new drink, uva milk tea. Tried the sample and instantly knew i wanted to get the uva milk tea. The milk tea had a well balanced floral note that was sweetened just right. It was not overly or under sweetened. I paired the drink with their black tea jelly with the recommendation of our hostess. She was spot on with the pairing. Highly recommend. My wife got their matcha tea since she wanted something caffeinated. She enjoyed it and thought it was well balanced in flavor. My wife mentioned they are known for their popcorn milk tea and will have to come back to try that. Will definitely be back to try their other flavors.

Yelp
Unique! The popcorn milk tea is so different and interesting. Is it buttery, is it nutty? The question we get when we bring our friends and family to try this drink. Aside from the drinks that their homemade mochi topping is amazing. I've tried the black tea and brown sugar mochi so far and both are really good. I love the two gives. I prefer this over boba. From the tea, I really liked their seasonal drinks that they sample by the front. My favorite so far has the bamboo jade tea and I hope it comes back one day because I really enjoyed that one.

Yelp
My initial thought was, "wow this place must be really good if it has a Yelp waitlist." It was, in fact, really good. I ordered the Misty Oolong Milk Tea w/ Brown Sugar Mochi Tapioca with perfect sweetness and another milk tea, which I forgot the name of (it had bamboo in the name). Both drinks had a bold tea flavor blended with a creamy taste. Nothing was too overpowering. Their topping selections are also incredibly unique and tasty! It was perfectly chewy and not too sweet, which, by Asian standards, is perfect :3! The interior is also incredibly aesthetic and minimalistic. I would definitely say this place is more of a grab-and-go rather than sitting down and having a chat -- they don't really have tables, just one or two benches for you to sit on and wait for your drinks.

Yelp
I was really excited about this place after hearing all the buzz online. We drove an hour from LA and waited another hour after seeing all the hype online, but unfortunately, Torotea didn't live up to expectations. I got the popcorn milk tea and the crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was a little better, but both mostly just tasted like light milk with jellies. Another letdown was the lack of alternative milk options. I was so sad! Overall, not really worth the long wait. On the plus, aesthetic inside was very earthy chic, and they also offered some samples.

Yelp
Recommended by my friend's sister as "WHY HAVEN'T YOU TRIED THIS PLACE YET?!!," we sped over to try Torotea! Where else sells popcorn milk tea? Pro-tip: Join the waitlist via Yelp before you arrive. The wait time online was 85 mins around 3pm, don't let that's scare you! Check in with the kind staff outside and they informed us that many people didn't show up, so we were promptly let inside. Their interior is super aesthetic! I had a hard time deciding between teas versus milk teas (iykyk). The popcorn milk tea tasted like sweet corn with a tinge of salt and their boba was cooked to perfection, nice and chewy. My friend got their rich matcha and loved it. Her sister usually gets their jasmine green or oolong teas with their black tea boba-jelly. I'll definitely try that next time!

Yelp
Cute ambiance, it's like minimal and artsy Know for their jellies and signature drinks. They give samples of their jellies. tip: Join the waitlist while you're eating lunch somewhere else! They don't want to block the other businesses with a line. on a busy day, needed to wait 40 minutes on the waitlist and then another 15 minutes for ordering and getting our drinks. Tried their calamansi tea with passion fruit jelly- tart and the jellies tasted unique. roasted barley tea- order if you want something healthy and don't want caffeine. Sweetness level was good to my liking!

Yelp
Really unique boba experience that is unlike any other chain. The boba is more like mochi and the interior is very trendy and aesthetic. The wait time is crazy (longest I've had was 2+ hours), but the online check-in makes things super convenient to plan around. The popcorn milk tea is my favorite, but their seasonal drinks are worth trying as well, and they always have samples of them. Would recommend!

Yelp
I tried two drinks and thoroughly enjoyed both, though I do wish the portions were larger. Manor Milk Tea: This was described as the closest to a classic black milk tea, and it didn't disappoint. I opted for the brown sugar jelly cubes, which had a light chew--not the same as boba but still a nice texture. The flavor had a nice tea flavor, and I found myself wanting a bigger cup! Mulberry Oolong: I paired this one with barley jelly cubes, which I loved, even though the osmanthus jelly was recommended. I'm not a fan of floral flavors, so the barley jelly was a perfect choice. The drink itself had subtle notes of chocolate-covered berries, making it a delightful and unique experience. Both drinks were flavorful and well-crafted. My only wish? Larger portions! :P

Yelp
This is one of my favorite boba places which is odd bc they don't sell boba they sell mochi in their drinks which is even better!! It's so soft so bouncy I love it. Their service is also great as they offer free samples when you get in. The interior is also very aesthetic and clean. I do recommend going at specific times bc sometimes the waitlist for this place can take hours.

Yelp
This is currently one of my favorite tea spots! There's almost always a wait here, and for good reason. The drinks here are great and unique. To order, you have to first join the Yelp waitlist outside. You can also join it in advance virtually. Then when it's almost your turn, they'll invite you inside to order. My favorite is the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi. It sounds strange, but it's so addicting! It's described as "buttery popcorn," but I wouldn't exactly say it tastes buttery. More like a creamy toasted flavor, and the mochi gives the drink a bit of a sweetness. The mochi texture is not like traditional mochi. It's more like a soft jelly, and it doesn't get hard like boba! They're not too sweet either. I also like the roasted barley tea when I want something a lighter without milk. The dalgona cloud top koan- im oolong latte was highly recommended by others, but I thought it was just okay. It gets a little sweet and the sugar level for this can't be adjusted. If you like tea-forward tea drinks, Torotea is worth a visit!

Yelp
I've heard about Torotea and really needed to give it a try. I could tell it's really popular, because there was an hour to two hour wait on the waitlist. Fortunately, I was able to get inside right ahead on a Sunday around 9pm. Upon entering aside, I could understand why there was a wait, since the store is small. It was more of a grab and go boba spot, since there wasn't necessarily a great spot to sit and chat. Despite that, parking during the time wasn't an issue. There's a shared parking in the plaza. My friend and I both got the Misty Oolong Milk Tea with mochi jelly. The tea tasted very fresh and it was perfectly sweet. Admittedly, I usually don't get mochi jelly, but this was a good addition to the drink. Excited to come back and try their other drinks in the future! Note: They do not accept cash.

Yelp
This place is a diamond find, although it's well discovered already. Let's start with the drinks... The drinks are made to order and are indeed "perfect" as made. Less ice and less sweet isn't necessary and these drinks are made perfectly as ordered. The flavor profiles across the different creations are diverse and I understand they make the jellies and mochi throughout the day fresh, and it certainly tastes that way. I love the Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly...it's my favorite. It has notes of charcoal and earth...very good! I haven't had a drink I don't like. However, if you order drinks for the following day, I wouldn't get the calamansi twist as the burnt citrus overpowers it by the next day. But one the day of, all drinks taste perfect. Now ambiance- this place is a winner. It's clean and simple decor with no place to hang out...you order, get your drinks and go. It feels a bit like something out of Studio Ghibli and the font on the name makes me think Totoro...maybe, maybe not. But the vibe is chill and not overhype. There is usually a long wait, so join the wait list or go early. Staff is all really friendly. I think they hired well because everyone seems to be happy about their job. Quite a contrast from most tea places. Also random- we were getting sushi in a different city one night and saw someone with a Torotea carrier..we asked if there was a location other than Diamond Bar and it turns out the person we met was the owner of Torotea...she told us her story about starting the shop and it made us like the place even more. Torotea for the win

Yelp
We drove 30 minutes to get torotea after reading about the hype around the place. We joined the waitlist while in the car, and by the time we parked in the parking lot, it was our turn to enter the shop. The inside was very vibey - the decor was minimalist and cute. We tried a sample of the pinewood tea which was delicious. I ordered the jasmine oolong based on yelp recommendations with the brown sugar mochi, and my friends got the pinewood milk tea and the crème brûlée milk. Honestly, I am sad to say I was disappointed. The jasmine oolong was far too mild - I could pretty much only taste milk. My friend who got the crème brûlée felt that hers also just tasted like milk and almost nothing else. The pinewood was tasty as expected, but it was disappointing that 2/3 drinks just tasted like milk. Theres definitely better milk teas in LA that are less overhyped I'd prefer to this place.

Yelp
Man... was I skeptical at first and tried to avoid this place due to the wait time but this spot definitely lives up to the hype! The mochi boba was a game-changer for me lol. I have never had anything like it before. It's soft, chewy, and holds its texture even if you leave your drink in the fridge overnight (but dont do that). Such a unique and fun alternative to traditional boba. I ordered the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Mochi, will be my go to moving forward. The popcorn flavor was subtle but had a nice buttery, toasty taste that paired perfectly with the creamy milk tea. The mochi added just the right amount of chewiness without being too dense. It was perfect. One thing to note, this place is always packed. They have an online waitlist system, so you can reserve your spot ahead of time and check in when it's your turn. Since it's near a supermarket, I just ran some errands while waiting, which made the whole process super convenient. If you're a boba lover looking for something different, this place is a must try. Parking is not really an issue as it is shared within a large plaza.

Yelp
Came here from the SFV after watching a video reel claiming this was one of the Top boba places in LA. Popcorn and boba: two of my fave snacks? SAY LESS. Placed myself on the 90 min yelp waitlist. Drove down when it was my turn. Ordered the popcorn and crème brûlée milk tea. And honestly.... was disappointed. Both drinks tasted just like watery milk. Had there been more flavor and a creamy milk tea consistency vs milky ice, I would probably give this place an extra star. Granted, the place gave Tulum vibes and was incredibly clean. But would I come/wait again? Probably not :(

Yelp
I have never heard of a boba shop that has a yelp waitlist before but after trying this place out, I understand the hype and why there would be a long wait. The staff take their time to explain their drinks to you and make sure all your questions are answered. It was my first time visiting so of course I felt a little overwhelmed but they were able to answer my questions and even suggested what drink I should try. I ended up ordering 3 drinks: * popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi * osmanthus citrus refresher with osmanthus jelly * roasted barley ice tea with black tea tapioca mochi I liked the osmanthus citrus refresher the most out of the 3 drinks. It was perfectly refreshing and the osmanthus jelly went really well with the drink. Only thing I don't like is how they don't offer a less ice option. It's either regular ice, or no ice.

Yelp
Just. Wow. Easily top tier boba tea shop. I ordered: Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea Popcorn Milk Tea w/ Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi And tried samples of their seasonal bamboo jade oolong milk tea. One sample convinced some of us to buy two drinks each. All the drinks had such fragrant and unique flavor profiles and not too sweet. The tapioca mochi had a great jelly and chewy texture and is a new favorite topping for me. Staff were friendly and helpful. No seating inside; order and go. You have to join a yelp wait-list to enter the store but it's well worth it.

Yelp
I have been seeing Torotea so much on social media which made me so curious about what makes Torotea special. I live in 626 which is one of the tea/boba/bubble tea mecca and its so hard to find a spot that can top another spot. When I was heading this way to check out Torotea, I did see a waitlist option on Yelp but felt really confused as why would a boba spot have a waitlist option for. When I arrived, I realized I should have joined the waitlist. The waitlist helps them allow you to go inside to place your order. Due to them being super busy so it help both the business and the customer. So I joined and waited for my turn patiently in the comfort of my own car. When it was finally my turn to come in, I really liked how they decorated the interior as the inside was really mellow and calming. Ordered: Dalgona Cloud Top Oolong Latte Creme Brulee Ice Milk with Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi Osmanthus Citrus Refresher All three drinks I got was super tasty! They were also giving out samples of the Osmanthus Citrus Refresher and let's just say my kids kept asking for more samples hence why we ordered one for them to share. Staff were really nice and organized. I do appreciate that they treat customers really well and are so organized for a new establishment. I definitely will return when I am in the area next time. This Yelper gives 2 thumbs up! Tips: *Limited indoor seating. *Credit card accepted *Restroom available for customers. *Make sure you join the Yelp Waitlist

Yelp
Torotea is my new fav boba shop! I've visited multiple times to try different drinks and every single time I love what I order. Their drinks at "perfect" sweetness are genuinely not too sweet but I still like getting my drinks a little less sweet. Their mochi jelly toppings are what make them stand out. I've never seen another boba shop offer this kind of topping before. I would definitely recommend ordering their popcorn milk tea if it's your first time. There is a bit of a wait at peak times because of how popular this place is but you can always join the waitlist ahead of time. Interior of this shop is so modern and nice with limited seating but I always take my drinks to go. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Feeling overwhelmed by the 10 chain boba shops within a block of each other in Berkeley, Torotea was like a breath of fresh air. It comes off as Diamond Bar's new hot spot considering there's a Yelp waitlist that can be really long, but it makes sense considering the small space they're working with. Service is super friendly and they have great recommendations for their menu with unique options more exciting than the typical flavors you see. They also offer samples of their tea and various toppings. I opted for the Manor milk tea with brown sugar mochi (more cubed and chunky than the traditional sphere tapioca pearls, but they are homemade and really tasty). It kept me up till 2am which I'll keep in mind next time I need a caffeine boost and I'm not in a rush
