Torshi - Mediterranean Grill

Food was very tasty and had a lot of great flavor. The serving size was very generous, the bowls were loaded and they gave plenty to keep you full. Would definitely recommend and would go back!

I stopped by Torshi in Kearny and tried the chicken pieces over rice—WOW. I wasn't expecting such bold, addictive flavor. The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, the rice was fluffy and full of flavor, and the whole dish just hit the spot in the best way possible. The portion was generous, the presentation was on point, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. You can tell they put real love into their food here. The staff was friendly and welcoming too, which made the whole experience even better. If you're in Kearny and haven't tried Torshi yet, you're seriously missing out. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more off the menu!

I have been wanting to come here for awhile. We finally made it and it was WORTH IT. I love exploring cultures through food - and this spot is definitely a local treasure. Incredible food, and incredible people working there that guide you through all the different options. Can’t wait for summertime - they have an outdoor area! The only thing missing is ——- good Egyptian COFFEE ☕️ that you could enjoy with their incredible baklava or a homemade recipe of rice pudding ——- which the owner gave me for free to try. So good. Healthy good food is hard to find - just found it. Thank you. 😊

What a beautiful, clean, healthy place to eat! We were going to Dave’s Hot Chicken that is next door but I saw their picture of their food and convinced my husband. The beat decision ever! This bowl was soooo goooooooood, what?????? The worker was so kind and introduced every menu item. This fooooooood, come try it! Wow were about to come here often. A gem!

Today marks my second visit here. I’ve been exploring different cultures of food and the food is great! I feel like you get your money’s worth with the portion of food you get. I don’t feel rushed when ordering my food. The owner is pleasant, welcoming, and doesn’t have an issue explaining what each food item is. Dine-in if you can, there’s space inside and outside to eat.

The food is fresh and is very healthy .They also give you a sample to try. I was blown away with their high-quality service and food. I will definitely come back again. This was the perfect stop on a long day of travel home. We ordered the chicken shawarma bowl and the chicken kebab bowl that did not disappoint. The owner provided suggestions throughout and offered us to try some of his favorites one being the lentil soup and I ended up going back to order it to go it was that good.

Cool little joint. It has ample parking and fine in room. Its a relatively simple menu with all the Mediterranean options you would want. I wanted a gyro so I went with the shwarma meal. It has tons of fresh vegetables with a good amount of soft and juicy chicken on top. The white sauce is good but the red needs work. It's so watery with a Tabasco like taste. The meal comes with French fries and a drink. They freshly make the fries and add some seasoning. It was still very lightly seasoned. And they didn't include ketchup. The price is a bit more than anticipated.

My go to place for Mediterranean food. While most places advertise as Mediterranean, this spot is the real deal. I've tried their lentil soup which is delicious. Light and balanced. I usually also order the chicken shawarma rice bowl. It's filling without it being heavy. We've also tried their baklava which is amazing! If you're looking for Mediterranean food, this is the place to go.

We ordered food to be delivered from here and it was delicious. However there was way too many onions on one of our dishes. We will definitely try it again but next time make sure to ask for less onions. Thank you!

I ordered the Protein Bowl and wrap. I never recieved the wrap, but the Babaganoush in my protein bowl tasted significantly off. It had a sharp and spoiled taste and a very slimy texture that babaganoush is not supposed to have. It ruined the whole dish since everything was covered in it. My protein bowl also had chicken in it and I did not order any chicken at all. The chicken was stale, dry, and was old as well. Nothing was fresh. The reviews on yelp were fine but then reviews on doordash were often complaining about quality and lack of freshness. Do yourself a favor and do not order from here. The seasonings it has may cover up the fact that everything is spoiled and old.

They made it easy for me to build my own bowl and I love how it turned out! Plenty of parking space, there's a clean bathroom, and friendly staff.

Overpriced for something that has no flavor I paid $19.62 for a chicken shwarma salad & a soda. Chicken had no type e of flavor, the garlic sauce tasted like cheap Mayo with a pinch of garlic powder & the tzatziki sauce was bland as well. So sorry I wanted to like it but I was better off going to BJ's across the street and buying a roast chicken for $4.99

This place recently opened up by our apartment so we thought we'll give it a go. The gentleman in there was so sweet, I thought he deserved a Yelp page. We got two rice bowls one with beef gyro and one with kofta. We also tried different toppings such as the baba ganoush, tahini and this one other spicy topping that was delicious! Check this spot out if you are in the Kearny area

The food was so good, they have a delicious sauce, very delicious desserts and the service was 10/10!! The place is so comfortable ambiance. I'll come back for more

Love Mediterranean food so when I saw this place open, I certainly had to try it out. If anyone is wondering as to the type of dining, this is a better version of chipotle. The menu is very simple which is always a good sign. I ordered a chicken shawarma bowl with rice, salad, grape leaves, baba ganoush, hummus and garlic sauce. Lets just say the quality and flavor of the food here is amazing. The chicken was moist and all of the other toppings were fresh. I also some baklava, not the best I have had but it still satisfied the craving If you have doubts about trying this place, just go for it. You will not be disappointed. (Unfortunately no pictures as everything was devoured in a matter of seconds)

I had a taste for lamb and this place did not disappoint. I had the basmati rice with the cucumber and tomato. The portions size was good but I asked for extra lamb that I couldn't finish. The place was immaculate. I don't know how long they have been open, but the place was bright and the staff was really friendly and made recommendations buy asking if you like spicy or savory. Overall it was a great experience

We found this place on a whim and it was such a nice surprise! You can build your own bowl or sandwich with a selection of toppings and everything tasted great! Santiago was lovely and walked us through the menu, making suggestions and even letting us taste certain items like the soup which was delish! Would definitely be back again, love that it feels like a quick healthy option!

Came In here right after the gym, really convenient place, super clean inside and the people working are the sweetest! Man with blue eyes was very helpful. I had a bowl and I got kabob chicken and it was delicious, I got to pick what I wanted and I was very satisfied. The food was very fresh and well seasoned! I'll deff be back and recommend!

Food is good but beware I said I wanted half and half protein and they just charged me double because I said I wanted two types of meat. I also asked for pita and they gave me rice. Could have been a language barrier but they won't be seeing me again

If you are looking for delicious and healthy Mediterranean food look no more. You must eat at Torshi. The food is absolutely delicious and the prices are just right. I have been waiting a long time to have a place like this in the Kearny area. I highly recommend you come and try this place. You will not be disappointed. Also the food portions are perfect

I had the shish kabob platter and it was alright. The grape leaves, rice, and torshi were very fresh but the kabobs were a bit undercooked which made it slightly difficult to chew on them. I also found the fountain drinks overpriced. On the bright side, the staff were very kind and courteous. Overall, the quality and portions could have been better for the price I paid. I may consider giving this place another try in the future.

Food is very good, and the staff are very friendly! I got a pita wrap with shish kebab and my boyfriend got a bowl with rice and chicken kebab. We both definitely preferred the chicken, but all of it was very good! My absolute favorite thing was the lentil soup! The owner gave us a sample and I took a large cup of it to take home. Definitely recommend!

The food is all made fresh daily and the people who work here are extremely helpful. I was here today for the first time and I plan to come back often. I had the vegetable shishkebab bowl and tasty lentil soup along with baklava and homemade rice pudding for dessert.

Food was flavorful: Falafel Wrap: 7/10, could have been less dry, adding more white sauce would have helped. Overall a very good wrap!! Lentil Soup: 10/10, very flavorful!! Staff offered a sample which was very nice Staff: 7/10 Price to Worth: 6.5/10

First and last time. Build out is great. Place is immaculate. Staff very friendly and courteous. Food is defiantly good and fresh but for $22 I'm leaving hungry. The portions are "carefully measured" and reflects someone trying to accommodate a diet you didn't know you were on. I want to be fair because the owner has clearly invested money in this place. However one has to weigh the value of what you get versus what you could get elsewhere in the area for this money and this is where this place falters. If I spent $22 elsewhere I would be full. Can't say that here so with so many places to choose from no point in returning.

I had Chicken Shawarma in pita bread, it was delicious and the baklava is so good. I enjoyed my food and I'll definitely go back to this place.

Got two chicken gyros here and they were very good! Great to have another choice for fast food in the area, and the staff was very friendly. The baklava was pistachio based and was absolutely delicious.

Went to the store today to try. Never will go back. Gyro beef dried up due to overheating or has been cut for a while. The woman serving probably counts how much slices of cucumber, onion, green and red pepper she puts in the bowl. I bought 2 gyro bowls and she puts exactly 2 pieces of each. First the Gyro pieces as mentioned are dry and salty. I saw the chicken halves and it was drowning in water with oil. If they don't change.. this store will not make it. Juicy in Harrison and Athena Grill in North Arlington is a lot better. BTW.. the price is expensive. Not worth the price. Go somewhere else.

Don't waste your time here. The service was horrible. But the food was worse. Got home to eat and it was disgusting. Wrong order. Waste of my money.

Extremely over priced side orders. $5.95 for ONE scoop oh Hummus "ONE". The owner happened to be there while the poor and nice cashier was charging me 1.75 and he made her changed it to $5.95 FOR ONE SCOOP OF hummus. This is my second negative review I've ever left. I rarely criticize any business, but this one deserves it. The cashier was extremely nice and sweet (not her fault)

The food is absolutely fresh and tasty! I Ordered a chicken kabob bowl with a side of Musaka. Worth every penny! You truly get what you pay for, fresh authentic food. Definitely worth a visit!!

Love this place !!!! I met the owner Nabeel and he's so nice and the food was soooo good their kufta was to die for. This is the place to be if you're looking to eat healthy. Bowls come with salad, hummus and your protein. Will definitely be back her again!!!!

I loved the food, specially the Torshi. Shami kebab is my favorite mediterranean dish, really enjoyed all the small sides. Defiantly recommend their Baklava.

This was our first going here last night with a group of brothers from the local masjid, and let me say they did not disappoint ! The food was excellent and prepared for us perfectly on time, the owner was an excellent host and very nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and be going back soon God Willing !!

I love halal food, an I was only able to get this dish from New York.. when I was at the gym an happen you see the sign I was sooo happy. I stopped in about 2 months ago an I swear I can't stop going. I have my family friends an now my co workers an there family is going there. It's the best, I luv the staff, food always fresh place is always clean and well lit!!! 10 STARZ u guys rock

Last night was my first time trying this place since they opened. It was so delicious and tasty, my mother and I enjoyed it very much. The portions are large and the service is awesome. My family and I will be returning here for more delicious bites.

This place is amazing. I felt super full after having my chicken shawarma bowl, and yet it didn't feel too heavy and it wasn't overloaded with condiments to the point where some food might be and give you heartburn afterwards. The prices are super reasonable and the staff is so kind and helpful. If you're feeling hungry and want something healthy, this is the place to go!

This place is maddd gooddd on some G shit this place was sooo good I had to come back a second time. I ended up spending 30 dollars in like 20 minutes eating some delicious mediterranean food and trust y'all it's well worth it. The employees were really nice and welcoming props to them definitely coming back here.

So, never again, done. I didn't realize they cut up pita and give it a bath in the only fryer on site. Stopped on my way home for falafel against my better judgment since the last time I'd gone in. The lady behind the counter had just cut up an ENORMOUS amount of pita bread and said to the young kid behind the counter - gonna fry up some pita chips - and he was mad because he was just starting to prep the falafel I'd ordered. She put them in one basket and topped them with the 2nd basket. I said never mind and left. Can't go there anymore. They don't have anything else FRIED on the menu, so I never thought there'd be cross contamination with the falafel, but there it is. Gluten-y pita fried in the same fryer to make chips. So disappointed. Lastly, their toppings kept changing for a while, and so does the rice. Sometimes it is regular rice, sometimes it looks like rice-a-roni but she says it is basmati. IDK. If you were looking for GF falafel, it isn't at Torshi.
