Tortas Ahogadas Chapala

Have been here a couple of times. The weekends do get busy, so the waitresses are running around. They can be a bit rude at times cleaning the tables when someone is already sitting down. But they are not ill intended. The food is good, the taste is there. I love pozole, it's my criptonite. However, I was somewhat disappointed. I could tell it was pozole from Saturday, and being that this was Sunday, it had the concentrated taste from the reheating. A little overly seasoned and salty. I also didn't like that it only comes with two tostadas, and the radish was too big for pozole, which makes it hard to eat. I will come back but this place could be better. Management could be better.

I really don't like Erica my wife Haz here a simple question and she replies you want me to take the plate I don't think she's happy working at this place I don't understand why people working on customer service if they don't have it what it takes definitely a big impact to your customers because if the food is really good you want to go but you remember the service it wasn't that good so you think about it

Never tried the restaurant but currently at the taco truck here by pilot. First time trying and I must say. DELICIOUS BURRITO! Chicken burritos and tacos are absolutely delicious! We’re on truck and it’s holiday so no load. I’m going again later before they close for round #2. Thank you. Hospitality is so welcoming as well.

This place is gross. I've been there twice because I wanted to give it another shot. Both times we've tried different things and both times I've been unsatisfied. This is not authentic Mexican food. The rice taste like boxed rice and the beans from a can. The fries were so dry and had no cheese, no flavor. Won't return.

My wife and I were there for the first time after watching an advertisement on FB. First walk in staff was super friendly. I had the Menudo and my wife had Camarones a la Diablo. Food was delicious! Service was excellent. Overall good experience. Only bad thing was they have tv's but were turned down all the way. Could not hear the soccer game. Other than that I highly recommend this restaurant. 👌

Very good I ordered the chilaquiles with eggs, taste was amazing 👏 the gave a big portion of rice and beans. Service was great the waitress was very nice. Definitely returning

Do not order the tortas ahogadas!!! This place doesn’t make the right type of birote necessary for tortas ahogadas! My torta has so soggy when it arrived. Would never order it again.

I was told about this place by a good friend of mine ...they just opened a new location in Victorville California and we are sitting here at the table now and I couldn't wait to make my review because everything she told me about this place was exactly as she described ...amazing food and amazing service if you haven't tried them in Rialto but you live in the high desert or on your way to Vegas you have to stop and try them on 7th Street... Hands down Chápala has the best torta! Very fresh from the bread to the ingredients and the asada just full of flavor. The beautiful waitress greeted me and sit me down she was nice. My order was done quick, clean and authentic restaurant. I recommend Chapala for all their food.

Been living in Rialto most of my life and never tried this spot, I think I have once. Anyway I called in for some asada fries, they add the works. The asada is actually solid for the IE, never thought I would say it as we have straight mid out here. The guac crema, salsa, jalapeños all paired real well the asada and the fries. The fries were average but everything else made up for it. Carne asada fries: 8.0

I usually come here during my work lunch and the food and drinks are solid, but today was a big letdown. I was craving caldo for the first time here, and honestly it looked like it was thrown together in a rush. The broth wasn't strained at all and came out way too thick and lumpy not what I expected at all. Super disappointing experience.

Great service ! Clean restaurant. The food was delicious salsas have lots of flavor to it !! My friend got shrimp tacos which she enjoyed as well Agua frescas are on point as well. I definitely recommend this place ! Will be going back to try different entrees on the menu !

I had a craving for a torta ahogada since having it at a different place in LA. This place did not disappoint! The bread was perfect to soak in all that tasty tomato sauce! I got it with the carnitas and it was very flavorful. I also got two tacos dorados de barbacoa and they were flavorful as well. Everything is made fresh and so yummy. My husband had an enchilada plate with carne asada and enjoyed every bite. He said he wants to come back. The customer service is on point too! The waitresses are very polite and friendly.

Amazing food and the ambiance was very welcoming! Went there for breakfast with my fiancé and I got to say we were content with everything our server was super attentive and the food came out fast! Highly recommend

We picked up food for 5 which was almost 100$ normal for us. But nobody liked their food, a common complaint was flavorless, my red enchiladas tasted like the sauce was chili and water with no flavor and they used queso fresco which is also a bit flavorless so my food was sooo bland. My son had green enchiladas and usually he loves them he said it was ok, and my daughters costillas she said was good flavor but had very little meat. Idk if it was just a one time thing, I don't expect food to be perfect but I may try them again, the staff was very friendly and the place is clean.

Everything was so tasty and fresh! The waitress was incredibly sweet and very attentive, which made the experience even better. And the micheladas--absolutely delicious! I'll definitely be coming back.

Found it! We have been looking for a place to eat a mocajate with great taste with plenty of variety of meats for good price and we found it! Its a little hole in the wall place, but it is worth the drive. If you ever get a chance to come out and try it I highly recommend it. The service is excellent and servants are very attentive. The place is for casual dining so no need to dress up. Give a try and it wont disappoint!

First time trying this place out for lunch and it was great. Upon entry a worker will ask if you're picking up or dining in, then you can seat yourself to any available table or seat at the bar. The restaurant was very clean, tables were cleaned, and all tables had hand sanitizer which I really appreciated. Waitress then will bring chips and salsa, chips were well salted and salsa was fresh and very tasty. I ordered a Carne Asada Torta and it was just great, the flavoring and the way they toasted the bread was perfect. My fiancé ordered a michelada, 2 buche tacos and a carne asada quesadilla, he said it was very good and that the meat was well flavored. We will definitely come back again for lunch.

Skip the tortas and go with their burritos mojados de tripa en salsa verde have never had anything like this before and they are D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!! As for drinks their cantaritos are amazing if you're looking to have a cocktail but if not their horchata is to die for!! We had a party of 11 and we were served quickly and our food came out nice and hot. The place is comfortable and tables are clean. Service was excellent! Can't wait to go back

The food here was surprisingly amazing! I had fa fish taco and a crunchy barbacoa taco and my husband had a burrito ahogado and we were not disappointed. The service was good, all the girls here were very friendly. Might I add this is a Queen ran establishment!! Will definitely be coming back here!

What an amazing gem we found extremely fast service. ‍ The chips and salsa came out right away!The waitress was extremely attentive. , and even though the place is named after their famous tortas ahogados, my culinary intuition told me to go for the tacos Dorados topped with Carnitas and the same sauce they use for the tortas, I got one cheese and one potato. they were amazing. I will be back. everything was affordable and they had a little lunch rush. I'm so glad I came here. What a great place. Don't miss it. Nice atmosphere as well, music playing but not too loud and had plenty of seating. They did stay busy tho. And i can see why now.

So update you my previous review..... Apologies to the owner. You're right, I left the review on the wrong business. We tried this place today. Not only was it good, the service was amazing. Apologies to you for the mistake and to anyone who read that review.

I love the torta ahogadas here. Favorite in SB / IE area It's our go to place. My husband orders the chorizo torta.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Only been here twice cuz I'm tryna lose weight but I have had two wonderful cheat meals here. The salsa they serve while you look at the menu is perfection in my opinion. Service has been awesome. I ordered nachos on my first visit and the server recommended doing half and half on the meats since I wasn't sure which to go with. That was super cool and the reco was excellent. I believe I got the chicharron and carnitas. That was a unique plate of nachos for me since I'd never had them with chicharrones. Loved it. On my second visit I tried the Asada Fries, which doesn't require carne asada--you can choose the meat you want. Again, really good. The nachos are better though. Burritos were served on pretty ceramic dishes, which was unexpected and charming. Drink refills are not free. There are plenty of tables inside, no outside tables, and parking is limited but you can find parking in the back of the building in the alley. This is located in a mini mall with a lot of other small, thriving businesses. Not at all fancy or trendy but great food and friendly service.

The food was absolutely amazing! I enjoyed the quesa birria tacos so much. The seasoning on the meat was perfect and exactly what I'd been craving, not to mention the consume was perfect. The tamarind agua fresca was delicious and refreshing if not a little pricey for the size nevertheless I'd 10/10 recommend.

Not only was the food amazing but so were the drinks! I had a Carne Asada plate and added some shrimp. Both the meat and the shrimp were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. I tried the Cazuela cocktail, which was so refreshing. My favorite was the tamarindo michelada! My friend got it and I ended up drinking half of hers cause it was so good and huge. Very unique and unlike any other michelada I've had before. I highly recommend this place. Great value especially for the price

I Finally got to eat here and have to say the food is very good ,so I had a chicken torta which was delicious! And customer service was very welcoming. Very nice people. The restaurant had nice relaxed atmosphere very home feeling. I highly recommend this place so if you're in the area stop by and try it.

Pedí x teléfono 12 tortas ahogadas q publican a 7.25 cu y cuando mire el recibo me las cobraron a 8.99 -- cobraron $19 dolaras mas q lo q publican - no quise llamar pues me imagino q dirán q ya subieron I don't appreciate they don't respect their advertised prices :/ I didn't notice until after I got home they charged me $19 more dollars for my phone order

Service sucks! but the food is great . I was waiting for over 35 mins for my food. I started realizing that everyone else's was gettin there food and I wasn't. So I had to literally had to get up and ask what's going on. I was on break and my responsibilities are big. I had to ask for money back. Ain't are fault your working and it's frustrating for you. But I didn't put you in that place of career You did yourself!!!!

Decided I needed to eat some actual cooked and prepared food rather than the typical fast food or microwave stuff. Found this inexpensive, small restaurant on Yelp and drove over. Decent menu picks with optional sides along with your choice of beef, chicken, even shrimp. I finally chose the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and a bottled Mexican coke. It came with rice and beans and chips. Also they give you chips and salsa to start while you wait. All in all, friendly staff, yummy food, and atmosphere. I went on a Saturday afternoon, and it was busy, but no wait. Sunday, on the other hand seems to be their busiest, so be prepared to wait. But it should be worth it:)

i was looking for a quick bite before work , and was craving something tasting like home . I was expecting much more but sadly was disappointed with the rice and beans , the rice was maybe 2 days old? You can taste it and the beans not 100% sure if they were home made or just canned I order the chicken taquitos . My boyfriend ordered the tortas ahogada and his first bite felt like the bread was stale and I tried it and it did feel a little stale. Other than that the customer service was good and will probably want to go again and hopefully the rice is fresh!

So delicious! I enjoyed everything that I ordered like the torta ahogada, tacos, tostada de cueritos plus the jericalla. The service was great on top of that.

I tried the barbacoa tacos, the rice and beans and a torta ahogada de carnitas and it was really good. My boys had the chicken tacos and had no complaints. As mentioned by others the staff is great.

Was craving a molcahete coming down the mountain and found this place along the way . Was delicious and so filling . Must try. Good for two people

If you want the authentic tortas ahogadas from Guadalajara, this is one spot you can come to. What I'm talking about is the bolillo. Other restaurants make them with regular bolillo that falls apart. Here they use the bolillo used for tortas ahogadas which is a bit harder to soak in the sauce.

Food was delicious, I ordered an Asada Burrito and my brother got the Asada Nachos. The one thing we both commented on, that was very specific, was you could taste the fresh cilantro which was a HUGE bonus! The service was great, I will definitely be back soon.

Great customer service. All ladies were attentive and eager to be of service. It was also very clean. I eat too much Mexican food therefore not craving it but my parents enjoyed their meals.

This is my 2nd time here and both times my food has been expensive and disgusting for no damn reason! I paid $19.00 for this and chicken nuggets. If the prices have gone up it should be updated as soon as possible online. Last time my boyfriend ordered the carne asada plate for $18 it came with chorizo and it was BURNT! I couldn't even break it apart with a fork! smh When I went back into the establishment I was told that's how it's always made...seriously!?! The portions and quality of food definitely are not worth the prices they charge!

The tortas ahogadas are outstanding, as you would expect since that's in their name. But the tacos dorados are also outstanding. And the hot sauce is legit hot.

Tried the new restaurant in Ontario. The salsa they give with the chips was delicious. Wasnt impressed with the tortas. Customer service was pleasant. Was really surprised that they charged .95 for a refill of my drink. I feel when u dine in refills should be free, they already charge 2.25 for a drink Would I go back

Wowzers, food is great here. I found this place randomly and glad I did. I ordered some al pastor and asada tacAs, and both were fantastic. The torta ahogada was bomb too. The place is small but i planees to do takeout anyway. I'll definitely be back to try other items soon.
