12 Great Spots for Tortas Ahogadas in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Under a shady ramadita, or little thatch roof (here it’s an overhanging roof) with a Chivas emblem on the sign sits North Hollywood’s temple of Tapatío street foods. Featured dishes include shredded beef and potato tacos, pig’s foot tostadas, and tortas ahogadas made with extra sturdy rolls. Enjoy one of the best tortas ahogadas in LA, then have the fine jericallas (a custard-like dessert) in this regional Mexican oasis off the dry, cracked, barren stretch of Vineland Avenue." - Bill Esparza

17 Irresistibly Spicy Dishes in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"There are few things better than tender chunks of carnitas sandwiched between soft bollilo bread. But when your torta is drenched in a capsicum-laden chile arbol salsa, you have the sort of sandwich that turns your nose into a faucet, all while keeping you begging for more." - Cathy Chaplin

19 Amazing Tortas to Try in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Tortas Ahogadas La Ramadita is a North Hollywood treasure. The roadside stand has been working up exceptionally spicy soaked tortas for years, and they come stuffed with thick chunks of carnitas, raw onion, and lots of lime on the side." - Farley Elliott

Yummy - but, beware the tables! The tortilla is very soft and tasty. I forgot to ask if they make it in store since it tastes very fresh:) maybe you'll find out? They've been recently lacquered or stained and it's not fully dry lol

I don't know what happened to this place, it used to be good and now it's really bad food. The meat seems old, the bread is really hard. The lemons and the onions also seem like they've been sitting for a day or two now. I got my son an order of hard shell potato tacos with meat, and the meat also was just dry and seemed old and crumbling. No real flavor. Just really disappointed with this place.

Used to come here in the early 2000's. The flavors are still as good and the quality is too. Customer service is awesome. They had just closed but made an exception and served us. Potato tacos with carnitas on top, doused with delicious tomato sauce with flavorful hot salsa. It was the only business in the whole corner, but now they built large buildings so be careful not to miss it because it's pretty small with little parking and an outdoor eating. Be ready as it's cash only. I travel many miles just to eat here.

Cash Only. Pretty basic taco. Apparently this place is a hit with the working locals. Get pretty busy at lunch time. Still looking for a place that makes good Mexican pollo tacos.

OMG, Bomb. Just f**king bomb. They need a bigger place to fit more clientele but other than that, BOMB. They give you the sauce on the side so that you can add it to your torta yourself. Its real spicy so you have to do it to how you like it. I put it all in there...soooo good. Also try the tacos de barbacoa. Theres nothing else like it and if there is, LET ME KNOW!

The servers just kept laughing. No greeting. The ladies kept starring at us up and down. Didn't get good vibes. Not going back
