Torta offers quality, authentic mexican food with selected food menu. Beef asada is rib-eye premium meat… I ordered veggie torta which came with egg, avocado, salsa, jalapeno and crispy bread with a mango drink. Flavors are exquisite, very fresh and unique to the chef’s style of cooking. Food is art at Torta GDL! The table next to me ordered a soup dish and the guy gratifyingly exclaimed “good food”. He was very happy with his lunch! I drove 20 mins to try this spot and it was worth the drive. I’m sure to come back to this family owned shop

All the food here is delicious. Authentic to the T. Clean dining area. The bathroom is definitely a long walk away, but at least they have a bathroom for customers. My family and I love eating here. Thank you for the great service.

Small shop with limited seating and the best Torta Cubana hands down. It's 20 bucks but it's huge definitely! Like 9inch sandwich and the height of half of my face. I have not shut up about this sandwich to my friends.

5/5 taste just like the food in Guadalajara (if not better). Everything is delicious. I try to get over there when I can and haven't been disappointed. Only negative is the parking is a little tricky but not impossible.

Food is good here however they need to fix their phones and store hours the signs in front of the store say Monday through Sunday 6 AM opening time on Google. It says they open at 7:30. I waited outside from 7:30 till 7:50 calling and their phone number doesn’t work And they are not open. Probably won’t waste my time again, here

The place has a bit a confrontational feel to it. I ordered the chilaquiles plate go. I told them I did not want to much sauce on the chilaquiles cause I do not like when they are sagi and they drowned the chilaquiles. Teated bland. Eggs was ok and so was the steak.

The food there was pretty good and the service was good also the only problem was that when we ordered a to-go box 3 small cockroaches came with it, just a heads up if you’re wanting to go!

One of the warmest welcomes we have received in a long time from a restaurant establishment. The ladies working at the time had happy, awesome vibes. The tortas were a bit different than most that I've had in that they only serve carnitas (pulled pork). I ordered to go not knowing what to expect but I was down for something new. The torta is huge and had beans and carnitas in it. On the side,they prepared onions and two dipping sauces one mild and one hot. I was warned that the hot sauce was HOT, so I didn't mess with it. The torta was delicious. Don't be surprised if you don't finish it and if you do finish it be prepared for a food coma.

This place is my go to for authentic good quality Mexican food. The quality of the meat is why I will always come here. Family owned and they all work there, which is hella cool. They're clean with their food prep, which I love. Very professional and the food is really really good. My #1 is always quality of meat and freshness of ingredients, and this place has that for sure! I would recommend the following (I don't eat pork so this is what I eat): Steak tacos (every week for me!) Steak torta (really good!) Quesa berria (really good, the sauce is hella good) Berria torta Steak tostada My brother had the pezole and said it was so good! Can't recommend these guys enough. ‼La Vic's orange sauce has NOTHING on this place! ‼ I always wait until I've tried a place twice before I comment cause sometimes food is good because you're hungry. The first time I popped in here I was getting my car fixed a block away and it was walking distance so I came and grabbed the chilaquiles torta. Super high quality ingredients, full of flavor and very fair prices. This morning I was craving a breakfast burrito so I decided to run it back and get one from here. Everything just tastes like it's made with love here. Very impressed by this place. They have a small dining area with comfortable seating that's always very clean. 5 stars easily! Would highly recommend and I can tell by the little amount of reviews a lot of people in San Jose are missing out! *side note: come hungry, portions will fill your belly.

I been to Jalisco and their torta aguada is beyond good! The meat in the torta is packed with flavor ! The bread is nice and crunchy so the its never soggy ! The place is a little small but it reminds me of the small joints in Mexico ! Customer service is good! Owner checked up on us and they provided us with with fast service Overall would definitely come again !

When I miss home and I want food to transport me to Guadalajara this is the spot to hit up. The parking honestly sucks, the plaza is small and it gets complicated especially during lunch time. Call and order ahead to save time. Everything is made from scratch so it takes a while but their cafe de olla is something I dream of. They add milk but man it's so good! Jericallas are also done right , not eggy but vanilla and creamy. The tortas are of course so good because the salsa is amazing. Torta de pierna should be a go to for you, also tacos dorados con carne, get that extra sauce and plenty of napkins, you'll need it. Place is super tiny inside and it's a Fonda so plastic seating all around. Small business but they pour their hearts into it and it shows.

Food was yummy. Great breakfast options all day. Service was good, friendly and accommodating. Space is a little on the smaller side but comfortable.

Food and Service were excellent! Food came out in 10 minutes. Best torta I've ever eaten. I will recommend new people to order the torta ahogada with the sauce on the side. Torta bread can get soft really quickly since it is served on a bed of sauce. I finished the Torta rather quickly so the bread didn't get soggy. I believe one of these can feed two people. The crispy tacos ahoga were great as well as the shells didn't get too soft. Definitely will revisit this spot when nearby.

This place has become a family favorite! If you haven't tried a torta ahogada before, you're in for a treat!! I recommend the torta ahogada with the sauce on the side. I prefer it on the side so you can pour it every time you take a bite, with a squeeze of lime, of course. If you don't finish the whole torta, having the sauce on the side will keep the bread from getting soggy when you finish it later on. Service is always quick and kind! There is seating inside that is always clean and in great condition. There are plenty of other delicious plates to try and menudo on the weekends!

Was told about this place by a friend. Had to try the torta Ahogada, I mean the place is basically named after it.The bread is more is a stale French roll which pairs perfectly with the sauce as it soaks it up for every bite. All the flavor is in the sauce, and it does not disappoint. The texture of the bread and meat is wonderful with the sauce, lemon juice and pickled onions. I was served by Eduardo who was extremely friendly and provided excellent service. Music was nice. Will return.

I was a little skeptical wondering how the torta ahogada would look and taste for 14.50, but I can say this was the best tortas ahogadas I've had in the U.S. and I'm from Guadalajara. They give u a good amount of salsa to let it soak, bread is really good and so was the meat. A little expensive but i think it was worth it. Come here hungry cause I was barely able to finish it.

Absolutely delicious. The thin crunchy bread is a perfect combination with the juicy flavorful chilaquiles and egg. Adding meat to it is another great option. Also ordered fresh squeezed orange juice. Would definitely recommend trying this place and will be back to try more stuff. Service was amazing as well. Everything is made fresh to order.

Had their Chilaquiles Tortas a couple of times. They are tasty, the sauce is not too hot and not too mild. Good quantity and quality of ingredients. The bread is nice and soft but with a crunchy exterior.

If you order a torta ahogada, you must eat it there. I had to assemble the torta once I got home and while everything was packed well (sealed, no leaks), the bread was pretty tough. Not sure if it's because the bread wasn't heated due to the fact that it was a to-go order. The carnitas was a bit dry, but once the sauce was poured in and on top of torta, it was just one messy meal to eat. The red chile sauce was very spicy which I liked very much. The chilaquiles w/ green sauce was more of a soup. I loved the fact that they seemed to have packed the bowl up, but it was considered a soup for me. There were no rice, but had pinto beans, the verde sauce, the fried tortillas, queso, and the egg. The egg were cooked perfectly; I enjoy my eggs a bit runny. When I ordered, the lady that took my order did not ask me if I wanted to dine there or take it to-go. Since she did not ask me, I was anticipating on enjoying my late lunch there, but it was neatly bagged when my order was brought out to me. No big deal. I enjoyed both dishes at home and it took me 2.5 sittings to completely finish both entrees. The parking sucks, but friendly service and good food.. you can't complain. They accept cards!

For the loaded asada torta with everything mayo, onion tomato guacamole. Hand down the best torta I've eaten, crispy yet chewy bread and the crunch of the fresh onions mm hmm. Asada was warm and not greasy, jalapeño wasn't too spicy what a great sandwich

Lugar donde la cajera se enoja cuando clientes llegan y hacen alguna pregunta del menú o le piden cualquier cosa si no están contentos con su trabajo para que están ahí en un lugar donde el cliente llega y pregunta algo se enoja no quiere hablar ni siquiera un hola o un gracias este es su número nada!!! nomas deja el cambio a un lado de la caja y ya jamás recibí mi soda hasta que tuve que preguntarle y hasta eso le molesto no creo nunca volver a ir en un lugar donde tengo que hasta limpiar mi propia mesa para comer!!! come on aparte la comida no es que esté ni muy buena ni barata la torta que me dieron tenia más frijol que carnitas y el burrito era pura papa así que no ni por la comida ni mucho menos por el servicio

Over all good Tortas ... fresh hot and very tasty ... today but the chilaquiles with carna asada is damn good ... the food is served hot and I Mean freshly cooked hit almost to hot (from the stove) Yes a bit pricey but well worth it would Have had a few items here and all hane been good ... the customer service is great again this place is well worth it

The customer service here was really good! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and they helped us with the menu to tell us the most popular items. We got the chilaquiles torta and the carne en suite jugo and both were DELICIOUS and full of flavor. We will be back whenever we are in town!

Empezaré diciendo que maneje 10 millas desde mi trabajo para probar las fantásticas tortas y chilaquiles de los que tanto se habla en Yelp. ¡Bueno, NO me decepcionaron!, estuvieron lo que le sigue de fantásticas. Soy de la ciudad de México y sé a lo que saben unos buenos chilaquiles y una torta. El pan crujiente, ¡no saladas!, todas las tortas aquí en N.C. saben saladas, el queso como es en México, panela, los frijoles deliciosos, un verdadero festín de sabores en la boca, y los chilaquiles al dente! ¡Ni secos ni superaguados, en concreto la comida fue EXCELENTE! La mala nota estuvo en que cuando ordene pedí una torta de salchicha (que me he estado saboreando desde hace días) note, que tenía jamón en la foto de Yelp, so, le dije a la chica que tomo la orden que no le pongan jamón, envés de jamón doble queso panela Y también pedí el recibo al señor que me atendió al cobrarme. ¡Muy entusiasmada abrí mi torta de salchicha,! y NOooooo salchicha y si Jamón!!!! tampoco doble queso. Y el señor que me cobro omitió darme mi recibo. ¡Cuando hable de regreso, la mujer que tomo la orden rebatió mi reclamo, argumentando que pedí jamón y que quitara la salchicha, (no creo que fuera el idioma porque al principio le hable en inglés y me respondía en español) me dijo que había otra persona que oyó lo mismo, MENTIRA! ¡Cuando me verifico la orden me la dijo correcta! "no jamón y si salchicha y doble queso" Como voy a equivocarme si he deseado una torta de salchicha desde casi 2 semanas! Lo que no debe cambiar en Norte de California es el servicio al cliente, no podemos necearle al cliente cundo dudas de tener la razón o no tienes prueba grabada. Me decepciono que no pudiera comerme mi torta de salchicha que tanto he deseado. En fin, la torta, ¡qué mediero, estuvo más que excelente! As for the order lady, she was argumentative, and the person who took my payment, I am not sure if he changed me correctly since he did not give me my receipt despite my repeated requests.

I honestly thought I wasn't going to like this place... I chose the standard Tortas regulares since I love tortas and wanted to compare their standard to other places.... I got the carne asada torta and it was really really good. I'm definitely coming back again and trying the other tortas. It was amazing. The one problem was that the cashier spoke no English and kept having to have the cook come and translate. Like no English at all.... But honestly maybe that's why the Mexican food here was so good ;)

Ordered a torta ahogada here and it was really good. The red sauce that is poured all over the torta definitely gives the meal plenty of flavor and pairs really well with the hot sauce they have to offer. I also ordered the Piña-Coco drink which was also super tasty. Very friendly portions as well which complements the price you pay. The service was pretty quick which is a plus, only small downside I would say is the very limited parking they offer. Definitely will be coming back to try other items.

The food here was horrible I ordered a chilaquiles and the plate had a fly under the chips , besides this the cashier lady was rude and not kind with the customers , I told her about the fly on the chilaquiles and she not even apologizes for it , I guess they used to get those kind of complaints often about the unhealthy food and services they have .. never come back to this place again, Do not go here is a potential food poisoning for the unhealthy way food is prepared..

I've never had a torta ahogada in my entire life until I stumbled upon this place. I ordered it thinking I would get a typical torta but no. I was surprised when I got a beans and carnitas torta with a bag of liquid on the side. My coworker had to show me how to eat it and I was SATISFIED!! I love me a torta ahogada from here! I also ordered tacos dorados and they were bomb!! It's a family owned business and delicious! Check it out!

Service bad, they told us not to bring any drinks from outside, that we needed to consume their products, what I suppose to do whit my drink, leave it outside and buy theirs, and they told us in a bad mode, honestly the food great, except for the lady cashier. Not coming back.

Came on a Weds afternoon for a quick hawaiana torta and mango drink - it was delicious. Quick service and amicable staff. Fairly clean establishment. Parking is very tight in the plaza and the building is off.

Easy to order takeout. Tacos dorado's come fried and filled with your choice of meat or veggie. Recommend the carnitas or potato though. If you order carnitas, they stack it on top too. Comes with an au jus and a red chilli salda that you can or pour over the tacos. The tacos are covered with lettuce, cotija cheese, slices red onions, and onion. Ordered menudo, spiced beef soup, a perfect hangover cure! Comes with lime, diced onion, cilantro and a must add to the menudo for a well-rounded flavor.

Little corner spot with some tasty dishes. Their hours are a little non-traditional (opened early, closes early), but it's worth a try.

Truly authentic Tortas Ahohadas. Feels just like Tortas Tonio I'm GDL except there isnt a crazy line. So so happy.

The food was bomb! I seen a lot of reviews talking about their prices, but they don't keep in mind the portions and supporting a local business that foods makes you feel nice and warm after eating instead of bloated and nasty. It tasted authentic and although it's small it's perfect for a brunch! muchisimas gracias! Su comida es superrrr delicioso , puede ser un poco caro pero vale la pena intentarlo.

The best tortas I have ever had and it's not close. The carne asada torta on their fresh roll was awesome and my brothers favorite. The birria torta was also elite and my favorite was the ahogadas, which is a wet torta with carnitas beans pickled onions spicy salsa and a milder salsa. We got the food to go and the packaged everything up separately so the bread wouldn't get soggy. The sandwiches were not cheap but they were hefty and every ingredient was fresh, and it was made when we ordered it. 10/10 will go again.

First time customer, will be returning! Ordered the Tacos Dorados and Torta Ahogada. Man is this place super good! The tacos were super crispy, and the Torta is made with a fresh baked quality bread. They have been really considerate with the togo orders in these Covid times. All the sauces are individually packed so that everything is still nice and crispy when you get home and you poor the sauce on yourself. I've been looking for a place that does a real Guadalajara style, and this place is close! This is a new returning customer!

I met the family when they brought their little one in to take piano lessons at my work. We got onto the topic of food and they told me about their restaurant and I love Mexican food and a good torta is harder to find than you would think in an area with so many spots to choose from so I had to give it a shot and I was impressed! I got the lonche de pierna which from what I understand and tasted was a torta with shredded pork leg meat that is marinated in a red chilie sauce with all the usual fixings that were super fresh (avocado, onion, tomato, jalapeño, crema). It comes with a sauce typically used with this torta in Guadalajara and it had a great flavor but since I am a sauce freak, I asked to try their red and green sauces which were also delicious and had vibrant colors. I also got their homemade Jamaica which was delicious. Overall, a great family owned restaurant that makes a point to make you feel welcome and almost more importantly serves delicious authentic Guadalajara style staples. I'll definitely be back and am looking forward to trying their birria quesatacos with the consome!!

Absolutely loved their tortas! The food was extremely juicy and flavorful and we enjoyed the extra toppings and sauces that come with it our sandwiches.

Authentic, fresh, delicious Guadalajara cuisine! Must have the torta ahogada! It is the most authentic torta I've had in the Bay Area! I'm from Jalisco - so trust me when I say this. Overall, everything in their menu is good to go. From the tortas to the tacos to their aguas frescas. Service was excellent and made me feel welcomed from the get go. A definite must in the South Bay!

Ordered tortas ahogadas from here via DoorDash and order wasn't complete. We were missing several items, whatever they did pack for us was strewn in the bags. It was also cold. When we called the restaurant to see if they could rectify the situation 1- give us the credit for the missing items or 2- bring the missing items they denied both. The did acknowledge that stuff was forgotten and not packed, but that's about it. Super disappointed.

The food was just soo good, when it comes to tortas ahogadas I'm picky because I'm from GDL but this place just made them so tasty and I was so satisfied, they were very friendly. Service was great. And I love how the ambiance was comfortable. 10/10

It's a little hole in the wall place but you have to try the food. Great place to sit and enjoy a torta ahogada have a Cool drink and enjoy some tacos Dorados with salsa hmmmm good Service is great and price well reasonable I recommend this place and give it. Thumbs up

Was A ok...im a BBQ guy so i know pork pretty well. Their pork is meh. Its all the sides and sauce once assembled that makes it. I had my order to go...not knowing how it came. Dont do that. I mean if you can, eat it there. You have to assemble it back at home if you get it to go. I think that was my bad for sure. Really nice young guy at the front counter was chopping up with him the whole time he made my food to go. The HOT sauce aint no joke man...you have been warned. I didnt grow up eating stuff this hot so i was all like Ai Chihuahua!! Totally goin back soon. There is plenty of parking though in the lot which is cool too. I had the Ahogadas pork sandwhich/Torta. The bread was hella good and since i was taking it home the portions were legit. I was able to make myself a mini torta with a tortilla i had at home later. #GDL #Tortas #OraleHolmes

My experience here was like Stevie Wonder @ the Flea Market..I didn't have a clue what was going on except for what I remembered reading on Yelp. I came here randomly last week on a Wednesday with my sister who was not trying to explore with me (She's a finnicky eater) The place had a little crowd already for it being a weekday mid-morning (1130ish) so it was a bit of a wait but there were 2 guys who seemed to be really busy. When they helped me, I just randomly started picking items off the board..(When you grow up in San Jose, you're part Mexican by default lmao)..I ordered 2 Torta Ahogadas and 2 Carnita Tacos (1 torta for myself to eat there and the rest for takeout for my hubby/cousin @ home)..not really knowing what to expect except that I really wanted to try this "Wet Torta" out for myself & see what all the hype was about (via Yelp) You seat yourself and they bring your items to you. I like this as it alleviates all the traffic of having to get up and maneuver your way around a really tight space. It comes with the Sauce already poured along w/ onions and lime on the side which you arrange to your liking. I added some hot sauce and voila! It was delicious! I enjoyed it and literally swalloed my torta within a few minutes! I sopped up all the sauce with my bread..and I must say, it definitely hit the spot and my craving was satisfied!!! =) A major plus for me is that it's literally walking distance from the complex I stay at. I would definitely recommend all to come here and see for yourself. Quick note: PORK IS THE ONLY MEAT SERVED HERE!!!

This is very different from a regular torta I have had but it was still very good especially with the sauces she gives you to soak the meat and bread with. It comes with a spicy sauce and a sweet teriyaki sauce

Really like their torta ahogada and lonche pierna. Big sandwich too. If you like stuff hot, this is the place.
