The 32 Best Restaurants in Oaxaca, Mexico | Eater

"This cart has been a staple for more than 25 years on the corner of Jardin Conzatti, where it prepares puffy, loaded tortas in every combination you can imagine: quesillo, picadillo, pork milanese, tasajo, ham and pineapple, plus breakfast versions with egg and chorizo. The pickled peppers and fresh vegetables put each sandwich over the top. Grab an agua fresca and find a spot at the nearby park to enjoy it. [$]" - Omar Alonso

The Best Street Food in Oaxaca City, Mexico | Eater

"A busy torta truck by the park that churns out sandwiches from about 11 until mid-afternoon; torta options include chile relleno, ham, and beef or chicken milanesa, all assembled on circular, puffy white rolls pressed on the grill to a crispy, panini-like finish and dressed with quesillo, salsa, pickled vegetables, and black bean paste — perfect for eating on a fountain edge in the plaza." - Sarah Menkedick

I love a stop in the park to have a torta. They’re delicious and affordable. I get the pierna or milanesa. Their escabeche and pickled potatoes are tasty. The people are nice and get your torta made pretty quickly. Expect a line when they are busy. On Wednesdays, when there is no street food, you can find them a block north and around the corner. Get a drink with your torta and enjoy it in Parque Conzatti.

I love tortas to be dripping and down right messy. This, was just ok. Toasted bread and ok stuffing- lacking some salsa. I had the chille relleno and hormiga cubana, they were dry and flat. Flavor is good though. It’s affordable- get it as a snack from a cute food truck.

Awesome Torta place that has been around for 30 years. The tortas are big and so good! We shared one a few times as they are quite big. The chipotle sauce is super Smokey and adds even more flavour to your sandwich. Super worth it and always delicious. Oaxaca is a good lovers dream

Hmmm, everyone mentions that this food truck served the best tortas In Oaxaca but we’ve had Don Chilios in Guadalajara so this was an interesting comparison. There was no contest, we had the Cubana and the huevos jamond. They were both a bit dry and the jamond didn’t have much flavor. The chorizo in the Cubana was better but I’d Don Chilos is a 10, this is a 3, it needed a much more substantial dressing or aioli sauce. The chorizo was flavorful and the buns were warm and crispy which was a good thing.

Best torta i have ever had...and I cant believe i am saying this but the chicken is our favorite. Have to get a jamaica with it. Load up on the condiments and have a nice conversation with the cook. They are a good time. It was my sons favorite stop on our trip we went back multiple times.

Visited Nov 2024. Delicious tortas, friendly people. I had a Chile Relleno de picadillo - and it was amazing 👏.

I love the Chile Relleno tortas served here. Sometimes you have to wait 10-20 minutes, but the delicious sandwiches are worth the wait. The prices and friendly staff are excellent also.

La Hormiga’s restaurant wagon, parked on the southeast corner of Jardín Conzatti, in Oaxaca, is my go-to destination for a tasty, quick and inexpensive lunch, in tranquil surroundings. It’s parked here most days (I think that there’s one weekday that they take off). As another reviewer mentioned, pay attention to the number your given after your order is placed, because it’s not on the receipt.
