Tortilleria Lupita

Bought three burritos of carne asada, chile with meat and potatoes and a bean and cheese. The only good part was the tortilla and the potato and meat burrito had mold on the tortilla. The salsa was rancid that one of the containers was puffed up. I was just traveling through Amarillo and always like to try the hole in the wall places but the quality was horrible and the prices are ridiculous. The beans also tasted bland and tasted like canned beans the burrito barely had any cheese. It was $25 for three burritos a soda and some candy. Don’t waste your money and go to Buc-ees in Amarillo where it’s a lot more sanitary and you won’t run the risk of getting sick or wasting your money.

I ordered the Carne Asada w/ beans, cheese, lettuce, and onions. It is so massive and so delicious, exactly what I needed after 4th of July weekend. The lady that works there is always super sweet ♥️. Definitely a 10/10 spot if you’re in Amarillo. We also got the beef and potato’s with beans, chile verde with beans, and a couple of bean and cheese for the kids. All the burritos were packed and felt like they were made with love 💕!

Good food, but not a 5 star rating due to the following: The tortillas on the burritos were a little hard, not fresh enough for a tortilleria. The gorditas are not actual gorditas (thick corn cake stuffed with beans and/or meat of one's choice), rather, they are sopes (thick corn cake topped with beans and/or meat). We had fillings or beans, chile verde and carne con papas, and they were all good.

It's a good place to eat and has multiple locations around town but this one here is opened a lot more even has a place to sit down and eat on the inside. Even have some other little things like candy chips and seasonings that you can buy or look at while you're waiting for your food. I received the rojo and it was amazing one burrito did the trick for me. There's parking in the front of the building. Did they must try place if you are on that side of town

I really enjoyed my meal !! Service was fast and friendly !! My barbacoa burrito was excellent the chicken tacos were good too. I’ll be back to try the rest of their menu. Very cool place that makes their own tortillas too.

I came in as I was driving cross country from LA and got two burritos, one chile rojo and one barbacoa. Two were pretty filling, the flour tortillas were thicker and chewier than the ones in L.A. They were AMAZING. Thr corn tortillas were ridiculously good as well. They were also thick, chewy and had a very strong but delicious corn flavor. These are the best tortillas I have ever had, period. I've eaten so many different types in L.A especially the ones that compete annually in the Tortilla competitions. The food was awesome and the lady who helped me was super friendly. I can't wait to drive back through and stop here again.

burritos meat has flavor here not spicy like other lupitas their burritos way too spicy kids cant enjoy here perfect taste flavor one bell overwhelm chili all feel tongue hot cook needs taste own food no use them give hot ssuce they smother it chili give name lupitas look bad they need cook same main lupitas

Their burritos are VERY GOOD, highkey recommend the child relleno con frijol, BUT when you call it in with time, they won't start on your order until you get there (not the best when your on lunch on a time crunch). Also someone needs to tell the señoras in the back to not take their time y ponerse las pilas. si ven que hay muchos órdenes, pónganse a jalar huevonas.

Chili pork Verde, bean and cheese burrito absolutely delicious. The chili pork Verde is very spicy, so I order my chili poVerdeburrito with refried beans and cheese. They also have breakfast burritos. Service is fast and friendly, the food is absolutely delicious. Tamales on Saturday and Sunday.

You have got to stop here for the best breakfast burritos! Everyone knows that Lupita's is the place to be. I saw many locals coming in for breakfast, including a whole fire truck full of workers. Truly love this spot and am so grateful for the fresh tortillas and tasty food. Chorizo all day Al every day for me!

I had been back and forth from OKC to ABQ 2 round trips in like 8 days. We were filling up with gas at Bud-ees and using thier PP. but was not going to spend 10 bucks for their overpriced freaking sausage on a stick. So i was like some chica got to be close. I found this. Easy to get to. Ordered about 6 things. Read the newspaper, and felt fulfilled and good for getting the chili verse. The chicharons are the softer fleshier ones. So YMMV. Go here gringos.

Literally, the best burrito I ever had! I was so impressed with the shredded beef Barbacoa burrito. Shredded beef was so delicious and was very tender. My wife has the beef and potato burrito. That was also very good. My daughter had the egg potato bacon, which is also very good. Tortillas are homemade. You must try the spot they even sell Masa to make corn tortillas

Whenever we are in Texas, we always go on a mission to find the best Mexican food. Since my wife is originally from Texas I always let her vet the spots. This place was excellent! Authentic is the best way to describe it. We sampled a few of the tacos and a burrito. My personal favorite was the beef and potato burrito. We will be back next time we're passing through Amarillo.

Parking is a bit hard to navigate through. This joint gets packed with people! They sell fresh tortillas de maíz and harina. I came here for two burritos and it took an hour. Turns out they handed my order to another person. For the time, price and size of burrito I wouldn't visit the location again.

They burritos are delicious, and I suggest making it a quick lunch stop if you're passing through. We received our burritos in just 5 minutes, and taking a 10-minute detour off the highway was totally worth it. As a burrito enthusiast, I was pleasantly surprised by their quality. Food so good it will bring happy tears to your eyes. That is not just a saying, but what actually happened. So. Freaking. Good. This place is doing it right. Handmade tortillas, actual authentic flavors, everything is muy delicioso. Tourists, gringos, visitors, people new to Amarillo, or anyone who hasn't eaten here yet...please take a moment to eat this food. Yes, it's in a modest part of town. Yes, it has bars on the windows. Yes, they do speak English as well as Spanish. Come. Eat. It is the best food! We have been traveling for over a week now and have eaten out at lots of highly rated places. This? This has been the highlight of the trip. Also, it is very affordable. We ordered 3 burritos and a Gordita, plus bought 4 grocery items (spices and pumpkin seeds) for $25 which is unheard of in these inflation days. Husband ordered carne asada and described it as "phenomenal." I had the chile verde and got upset at all the other places I've eaten at that calls their product chile verde. A new standard has been set. This is incredible

Traveling through Amarillo and looking for Mexican food and found this place. And it was pretty good. Plus they sell homemade tortillas. I knew this place was going to be good bc there were several people ordering food. I ordered the Chili relleno burrito with beans, it was excellent. The homemade tortilla took it over the top, very good.

Found this spot a few years ago by happy accident. We stop here every time we pass through Amarillo - if it is open of course. The ambiance is like the name suggests. It is after all a Tortilleria and produces fantastic corn tortillas. I can't stand the popular store brand. They are dry and crumbly and these are moist and flavorful. The menu is small, tacos, burritos, etc. the food is tasty and filling. Last time I ordered the chile relleno burrito and to my surprise there was an entire chile relleno in there along with more cheese and beans. So filling and delicious. It is a walk up counter, place your order and they call it out when done. Everyone is very pleasant. Stop if in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Wow talk about fresh tortillas! Making them right in front of you. My son and I got the chorizo bfast burrito. It was good I wish it had green chili in it is only complaint.

This place was small and selling a fixed menu. The tacos I chose were the Chile relleno burrito. It is a Chile filled with cheddar cheese over refried beans in a flour tortilla. Delicious. Worth the trip.

You bougie? Don't come. You like to criticize how a place looks? Don't come. Your expecting 5 star restaurant? Don't come? Don't come. No pinche negativity allowed! This business works hard and they are literally are always packed. This place to me and my husband is amazing! The people work hard and get their orders out fast. The young lady at the register was super nice and very helpful. The burritos!!! Coming from Oklahoma this def reminds me of Cali style cooking. If you get a burrito ask for no lettuce and add beans... CHEFS KISS! The carne con papas was also on point. The meat was sooo tender and you get a papita with every bite. They are a little spicy. Don't expect some watered down tomato sauce. The burritos are not huge but enough to satisfy your belly without being overly stuffed. Las tortillas de harina . Shit I'm getting the chills just talking about them lol! But be aware that once the sell out of tortillas... that's it. Don't get butt hurt. I would call ahead and let them know how many tortillas you plan on picking up so they can put your name down. Tortillas de maiz come out early in the morning and the tortillas de harina come out late morning from my understanding. They do tamales and carnitas on Saturdays but it's first come first serve. I hope y'all enjoy this place like we did

Amazing food, every time I visit here! Quick and efficient service made fresh to order. I absolutely recommend this authentic Mexican cuisine to anyone looking for fresh food with various tasty options. Also has a meat market and various other Central American items for sale.

In town for a quick visit and was looking for a good spot for breakfast. Found this gem. The burritos.... Muy Buenos! It gets busy but 100% worth the wait. I had a super good barbacoa burrito and my mom had the Chile relleno burrito! A true Hispanic establishment... loved it! We came back before leaving and grabbed some flour tortillas to take home. Check it out!

Chile verde burrito Carne asada burrito are all delicious. Love the blend of spices in their chile verde. Don't be scared to go in and give it a try.

Be prepared to wait for food a little bit. But the wait is worth everything. With limited inside seating, this restaurant is known for amazing home made food. I had three breakfast burritos which was less than $13 and I could only eat two and I'm not a small person.

Food and service are good but found something weird in my burrito! I got a Chili reheno burrito and they only have cheese inside so this isn't right. And it can't be the stem of the chili causes it's as hard as a bone.

Awesome spot with great food. I try an Asada Taco everywhere I go and these are awesome. Shells were great, meat is well marinated and tasty and tender. Wouldn't mind going back again!

Chile Rellano burrito EVERY SINGLE TIME. FILLED with cheese. My favorite thing on the menu. A little grease never hurt anyone.

This place is FANTASTIC! We were in town at the fairgrounds for a horse show and stumbled upon this great place on yelp! Had breakfast burritos and authentic Mexican cokes. The servings were huge! Don't forget the hot sauce in the little fridge by the door on the way out. Everything is authentic; the tortillas are some of the best I've ever eaten and I'm from south Texas. The workers were fast and friendly!

Best tacos ever! Hubby and I were road tripping to Vegas from Dallas. Stopped here for lunch on our way. We arranged our trip back home the next week so we could stop here for tacos again. Don't miss it.

Excellent Chile Verde. Excellent. Great pricing, great burritos, just don't worry about the atmosphere because you will want to take this homemade grub to the car! I believe this is the mother ship of a larger chain of Lupitas. I have eaten at several and the all have the same Chile Verde and thats all I need.

It is good AF you haven't had it your missing out Mijo lady in the front a little bit rude on the register or I'd give a 5 star food it good though no doubt

Maybe it was an off day at this place - but we ordered two chili verde burritos, and we got two extremely messy bean and cheese burritos. The cashier seemed to not care that our order was wrong. The burritos that we did receive were sloppily thrown together and too messy to eat without a knife and fork - and honestly did not taste very good. The shop/kitchen was also messy and staff seemed unorganized. After reading all the positive reviews for this place, we were very disappointed.

Worst customer service in Amarillo. We got there at 7:58 they open at 8. We waited around till 8:15. They kept saying to wait they didn't own till 8am at 8:15

No limes, no salads, card reader wasn't working and they didn't inform us before we ordered. Tacos were okay but the cheese is just Americanized and they messed up my order.

$4 for a knock your socks off Chile Verde Burrito with enough spice to get a good man's blood going. This place is awesome. Fantastic food and super friendly people.

To be perfectly honest I don't know if the food is good if it's a great or bad, I left before I got a chance. To be fair it does look like it could be good but the customer service for me was horrible. It does seem like the staff does Form a connection with the customers which is great, but if you're a new customer or an outsider they treat you like dirt, at least that's how I felt. First, the woman in the front tells me that they're out of a certain item, OK no big deal, but the person right after me orders that very thing no problem. And the following two people do the same. I figure while maybe the item was made no big deal, I try to change my order and she ignores me for 5 to 10 minutes because she's on her phone and she's chatting with a so-called customer. I left, hence why I don't know if the food was good.

I had a chili verde burrito and a shredded beef taco. Both were very delicious and reasonably priced. The tortillas were freshly made and perfect. I will definitely be stopping by here on my travels through Amarillo.

If you're from Amarillo, you already know about Lupitas. If you're not from Amarillo, this is the real deal. Real homemade Tortillas and authentic Chile Verde. The Tortas are amazing. This location also has a "mini mart" inside where you can grab a bag of chips, a Mexican soda, or a tea. Genius! This will always be my "go back to" location for real Mexican food to go in Amarillo. This is NOT a location to go sit down and eat at, however. Go to Lupitas Grill on Western if you want to sit down. They have a few tables, but it's like sitting in Allsups ...

Lupitas has the best green burritos , the tortillas are made fresh. I love them, I recommend them. The staff is always friendly:)

Really great spot! I had the steak & potatoes burrito. The flour tortilla used in the burrito was homemade. They also sell homemade corn tortillas, which you can see them making in the store.

DELICIOUS! I ordered tacos with pork. Some of each green and red. Wow, so good. Spicy but I am not a big heat person- that said, if I lived in the area I would order from there all the time. Gorditas were tasty-I ordered two with green pork. They were nice and friendly. Quick service too. I picked up a bag of fresh made corn tortillas that were still warm. It's definitely a take out place.

There are so many taco choices in Amarillo, but you will definitely regret it if you pass up the chance to check out Tortilleria Lupita. Hands down best gorditas outside of Mexico. 100% will be back when in town again.

This unpretentious spot has alot to offer! Tacos were delicious! Burritos are also delicious! I haven't had one bad thing here. Everything will be excellent. My tip is that you go ahead and oder a extra burrito with the order as you will need it.

A must when I'm in Amarillo visiting family. Their chile verde is my favorite. So delicious. It is spicy so if you aren't into that skip. They have plenty other choices. Food is always fresh and delicious.

Would kill to have these close. We stopped by half way through our roadtrip, and the bag of tortilla flours almost didn't make it out of town. They are absolutely authentic. The burritos themselves were ok. We stopped by on a Saturday before Christmas so it was HECTIC- crazy long line for ordering tamales. So I'm guessing those are delicious too. I'll definitely stop by anytime I'm in town.
