Google
Regular go-to for teriyaki. Our faves: spicy chicken teriyaki and tofu veggie stir fry. Always consistent and good. Nice family business too.

Google
I’ve been to a lot of restaurants. This is the best teriyaki I’ve ever had. Great lunch special too!!

Isam Al-Abssi

Google
This is specifically for the location close to Seattle Children’s Hospital. The food was a nightmare. The rice was overcooked and mushy, my chicken katsu was dry and seemed to have been cooked then reheated. The “Tangy cabbage slaw” was a warm garden salad in a pool of mysterious fish piss. My friends beef skewer tasted burnt and chewy. The teriyaki sauce was far from anything signature and tasted more like run of the mill soy sauce. For what you get, it is way overpriced. On a positive note, I’m still alive and have probably introduced a few new pathogens for my immune system to fight. One last thing, the food was ready when they said it would be, so I’ll give them that.

Google
Toshi’s is a great place to go if you’re looking for a good asian cuisine. I highly recommend their teriyaki chicken the sauce is delicious and go’s well on the rice and the chicken. It’s in a nice cozy spot with plenty of seating(normally pretty empty. Normally when I go there I do pickup but that’s just me. The only downside is it’s a bit expensive but the portions definitely make up for it.

Google
Got the chicken teriyaki and chicken fried rice. The teriyaki was alright, though not marinated and didn’t actually taste like teriyaki. The fried rice, however, was almost inedible. The rice was mushy and wet and made my wife nauseous. I am not one to put down businesses but this was really disappointing.

Google
Exceptional chicken teriyaki. No sauce like usual, just super well seasoned and flavorful chicken, different than the norm. Next time I'd request an extra sauce on the side for the rice.

Google
Dry. Dry chicken. Dry short ribs. Over $80 for 3 orders of teriyaki...2 short ribs and 1 mix of chicken and short ribs. I will pay $25 per order for excellent take out stand teriyaki, but I won't return to pay that much for dry white meat chicken, less than one breast worth, and a few ribs rendered stringy from poor preparation. I was hoping I'd found a place to grab a simple meal near my parent's for convenience. No go.

Google
Solid place for teriyaki and gyoza at a reasonable price. We went during dinnertime rush hour and our chicken was a bit overcooked and dry, but the flavor was still good. Extra sauces at the front!

Yelp
Had to try teriyaki while in Seattle and - dang, it didn't disappoint! I can't explain the difference, it's just... really freaking good. We ordered the chicken and beef combo along with the spicy chicken. The chicken and beef combo is the way to go, hands down. I would make this once a week if I had the recipe (wink wink, hint hint - you can absolutely DM it to me!)

Yelp
When you go to their website, you'll see this disclaimer: Although this location uses the "Toshi's Teriyaki" name, it is NOT affiliated with our company Toshi's Teriyaki Grill®. Dang... what's the tea here? I need to knowwww. Chicken is nicely charred and juicy. I didn't like the gyozas because the dough was quite thick and the fillings were hollow. Pretty standard teriyaki spot but I've had better.

Yelp
Top teriyaki spot! This is the OG style teriyaki from the good old days. It's the way it should be, tender thigh meat chicken, grilled over a flame, perfectly charred, and that sweet savory syrupy teriyaki sauce. Over a bed of fluffy rice, and you have heavenly old school teriyaki. There are many so-called teriyaki places, but this spot is how it was meant to be. To top it off. It's run by a sweet older couple.

Lilly T.

Yelp
Honestly such a classic little spot. It's a smaller restaurant but with great food - simple but well done. I recommend ordering online instead of in person, it's taken a significantly longer amount of time when I ordered at the restaurant.

Yelp
Seattle is known for their teriyaki so we wanted to check out one of the more talked-about teriyaki places in the area. Toshi opened the first location in Mill Creek in 1976 and is known to be the Seattle area's first teriyaki shop. He still cooks at that location but there are multiple locations that have opened throughout the greater Seattle area. This location is near U Village and the University of Washington with a small parking lot that is utilized by the other shops in the plaza. We got the chicken teriyaki ($13.49) and we thought it was okay. The portion size could've been bigger with more chicken, especially for the price. The chicken didn't have a ton of flavor (although I did like the char marks) and the teriyaki sauce was the saving grace to that. We definitely could've used more of the sauce. It is a chain but this shop felt like a mom-and-shop between the person at the cashier and the person cooking (they look like a married couple?). This is a decent casual spot for a quick meal.

Yelp
The menu offers a wide variety of teriyaki dishes, I tried the beef teriyaki, and it was cooked to perfection - tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. The couple was attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. If you're in Seattle and craving some amazing teriyaki, I highly recommend checking out Toshis !

Ken W.

Yelp
will never go again I order the combo. the beef was tougher than shoe leather and chicken was super dry. must have bern cooked hours before. had the Yakisoba. good lord , sauce way over powering. I am very disappointed. was looking forward to eating some comfort food. I the mos of it out

First Name L.

Yelp
For $16.54 (pre-tip) I got the spicey chicken, which was a filling meal, even for someone like me who often eats two meals at a time. The spicey sauce doesn't have any heat, but not a big deal, it's still good. Would have been nice to have a bit more salad to balance the meal more, but i can see most people thinking they were getting less if the two squares just had cabbage. The price isn't way up there, but teriyaki used to be an affordable meal in Seattle for people living on a tight budget, and it seems like that's not a thing anymore. I would eat this weekly if prices were like they used to be.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
I called for a takeout order and was greeted by a nice gentleman when I went to pick it up. There is a LOT of food in one order of spicy chicken! The meat was nicely grilled and tender/juicy. It's a staple for us on nights when we don't want to cook and it also saved us during the recent bomb cyclone when we lost electricity for four days!

Yelp
I came to rest their chicken but left loving their sublime and tender sirloin skewers. So dang good!

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Amazing spicy chicken!!!! Fair price for the amount of food you get! The old couple that owns it are very sweet

Yelp
Went in on a cold rainy Thursday. I was able to order my food and have a seat. It's definitely a walk in and out kind of place with seats if you want to eat it hot and fresh. After about ten minutes, my food was ready, as I waited I could see the flame of the grill working on the chicken. The restaurant was filled with the great aroma of grilled chicken that kept me hungry. The chicken overall is well balanced in teriyaki flavor. It's not too sweet but it's also incredibly savory and addicting. I'm glad they provided such a large portion size. I'm glad they placed it on a bed of rice so the rice had that fantastic flavor. The salad had a great vinegary-type dressing that was a good refresh. Overall it's a fantastic value and I would love to come during lunch as it looks like they have an even higher value meal.

Yelp
Foods amazing but marcus is even better. This guy is an amazing human and deserves all the tips ever. Marcus works super hard and is such a nice guy, this guy also has the nicest mustache i've ever seen, the food here is definitely made with love, my man marcus needs a raise. Says he played baseball growing up i bet he was a stud, he provided perfect tips on the food and what was good for us new timers. We love you marcus!
google avatar

Yelp
My wife and I get the chicken teriyaki at least once a week. It's a no frills teriyaki spot, with great portion size and always perfectly cooked chicken. The rice hits the perfect combination of cooked and sticky to mop up the sauce. I've tried a lot of teriyaki, but this one wins.
google avatar

Yelp
Looks like I found another go-to teriyaki joint. After a super long day, all I wanted to do was get food and go home to decompress. I was craving Teriyaki and scouted a new teriyaki restaurant in town. The teriyaki was super flavorful and tender. I thought the portions were super generous for the price of old $10.95. It's a score in my opinion! Get you some Toshi's Teriyaki if your in the area! :) Also, I noticed they have a really good lunch pricing special! I defineitly wanna stop by for lunch one day!
google avatar

Gustavo G.

Yelp
Worst teriyaki we've ever had. Chicken was not fully cooked and it had a bad smell. The rice was overcooked. Terrible salad the sauce was pure mayo. Me and my friend couldn't eat it, we had to throw it out. The tables weren't clean. Won't be a place we'll go back too.

Sepp S.

Yelp
juicy teriyaki chicken. Fresh ingredients. Nice char on the chicken. Super sweet owner and a very cute location. Ordered spicy chicken teriyaki and beef yakisoba. A must try!
google avatar

Hernan L.

Yelp
It's hard to conduct this review in English due to the sheer excess of the word "Fuego" that is running through my head. 7 wonders of the world but if it were up to me I'd make this dish 3 more times to be left with a perfect 10/10.
google avatar

Candy T.

Yelp
Mom and pop shop that offers generous portion and great tasting teriyaki! The meat has a nice charcoal aroma with their secret recipe teriyaki sauce! Def recommend the regular chicken teriyaki!
google avatar

Janet S.

Yelp
Always good and great value! Love it! It's lots of food, and they are courteous and friendly. Definitely a neighborhood favorite!

Mobee A.

Yelp
So satisfying. Unique and original presentation of chicken. They give you a hearty and generous portion of chicken teriyaki. The rice is perfectly cooked; it could be your thanksgiving dinner. Surely Seattle's best. 5 stars
google avatar

Kris P.

Yelp
Got the lunch special it was the best teriyaki I've had in awhile. Spicy and sweet. Salad dressing was super light but overall good. I usually can't finish my plate, but I couldn't stop eating

aaron o.

Yelp
I have had hundreds of teriyaki meals, and this place ranks in the top three of all time! Large portions, tasty, well cooked chicken, and friendly staff. My new favorite.
google avatar

Shay W.

Yelp
Lots of teriyaki in Seattle, but this one is in my top 3. Nice people, amazing food. I come here at least once a week and I always look forward to lunch at Toshi's!!
google avatar

Nancy T.

Yelp
This restaurant is ran by very nice people. The portions are great for the cost and the chicken is super flavorful. It's not overly dry or drenched in sauce. It's also charted which gives it an extra depth of flavor. I definitely would come back when I'm in the area. Also bonus points for their compostable containers!

Sage C.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was incredibly tasty, and very affordable. The staff was super friendly, and the laid back atmosphere made it a great experience. Will definitely be coming back for more!!
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible and disgusting. Parking just happen to be OK because it was right in front of the building it was slow on this specific day otherwise parking would've been difficult the owners were very short with conversation the food tasted not like any other teriyaki and not for the good either then when I ordered my salad they had like an oil and vinegar dressing not the regular creamy dressing that you have on your side salads that come with it honestly I gave the side salad back and walked out I didn't want any of the mail I will not be returning

Cassius E.

Yelp
awesome!!!! come hereeeee boba insanethe service is really good and the staff are nice. they have a variety of boba toppings and flavors
google avatar

Dave V.

Yelp
So I came here once, then twice, and now it's probably by 9th time. I've really grown to love Toshi's. The yakisoba is great. The gyoza is crisp but not burnt. This locally owned joint is a gem in the Sand Point area. Bonus, it's kids kid friendly and my son loves the gyoza, egg rolls and rice!
google avatar

Ian H.

Yelp
Nice old folks running this joint. Surprised how far it was from university village. The amount of food they give is ok for lunch special, but praising it would be pushing it. I went for dinner and the price is quite steep for the amount and quality. I googled best teriyaki in Seattle and this place showed so I figured I'd see what the hype was about. The food could have been better. It seems the food is cooked to order since it took 10 minutes for my entree to come out when I was the only one there taking out. The replay value of taste lacks in this one.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
Wow Toshi's... we love you. This small business has been for a long time and they have such a generous charm. I have always loved their teriyaki, but more recently I can't get enough of their fried rice. If you want to support a genuine restaurant, then you need to check out Toshi's!
google avatar

Marifel G.

Yelp
I usually order the short rib plate - comes with rice and salad in the regular sized to go container. Amazing food, you can call to order, no deliveries but I think it's a little pricey. My partner and I usually order the short rib plate and chicken plate and it's around 35? Ish dollars maybe to keep up with how expensive this area is? I would definitely order it again though. Parking: parking in the back but spaces are so small. Rare that I don't find parking.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
The best in this area. The menu is short and sweet, and you really can't go wrong here. This place does their menu items like a high quality sushi restaurant does sushi, just a couple choices done exceptionally well.
google avatar

Joey L.

Yelp
Best grilled beef I've ever had at a teriyaki place. And when I mistakenly ordered chicken skewers instead of regular teriyaki I was confused and disappointed, and they gave me a huge bowl of delicious dark meat chicken for free, and the lady chef's big smile made my day. You can tell they really care about quality meats. I will definitely be going back for their dark meat chicken and beef combo.

Jonah W.

Yelp
The food and portions are all good. About as expected. Prices could be a bit better but a great location that's never too busy if you live in the area. Some times they're out of certain meats so be prepared to change your order. This has only happened to me once here. There's plenty of parking in the mall parking out back.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
This is a WONDERFUL little place I absolutely love the king pao chicken! Perfect a lunch break during my busy work day. The service is always very prompt and polite. I never go anywhere else

Ranz M.

Yelp
Straight forward teriyaki place. No bells and whistles but serves good food. Would order to go meal here again

Laura R.

Yelp
I haven't had a teriyaki place that I like lately because they usually use way too much teriyaki sauce in the chicken, but Toshi's really impressed me. The way they cook the chicken is delicious.. not too much sauce and amazing flavor and way of cooking it.
google avatar

Firsto C.

Yelp
Many people see the name Toshi's and think that a good teriyaki chain around the town. Especially the original added to the name. I was excited to see one near my house since I move into laurelhurst area. I decided to give it a try since previous experience with other store Teriyaki here is very good but not what I was expected. Usually when I think about teriyaki I think about a lot of meat over rice with sweet sauce. This one came with 1-2 skewers depends on what you order and below average amount of rice. Overall Good to try but I will not be back there are so many good alternative with same/lower price within 1-2 miles radius from this store

Katie B.

Yelp
My family has been going to Toshi's for 15+ years and we absolutely love it! Run by wonderful people and has the best teriyaki in Seattle!
google avatar

Philip L.

Yelp
With the closure of Yumiko's Teriyaki, the difference between Toshi's Teriyaki and the rest of the competition becomes a lot more apparent. Toshi's consistently makes fresh food with an explosion of flavor, and the mom-and-pop duo are cherished presences in the neighborhood. Toshi's also gets bonus points for using compostable takeout containers. I would and definitely do come back to this place -- you should too.
google avatar

Lilly C.

Yelp
Recently found out that Seattle is home of the teriyaki chicken? Got the plate with beef, chicken, and shrimp. Upon inspection, the chicken looked really dry, but when you eat it, it's not dry at all. I was so amazed. The beef tasted like galbi. Overall was pretty good!

Tracy D.

Yelp
Really tasty, big portions served up by sweet, older Japanese couple. The man doesn't hear very well, so speak up. I requested extra spicy dark meat chicken teriyaki. Consider ordering extra rice because it's a lot of chicken. Their store front dining area is small, but very clean. Prompt service. Well run operation. Very good value. Definitely recommendable to all.
google avatar

Ashayla M.

Yelp
I really like this place. Its great for when I don't want to cook ahaha. I've had a good experience witth the food and staff each time.

Frenzie R.

Yelp
The two wonderful people here are still turning out consistent, lovely teriyaki. I can't find teriyaki like this anywhere else in Seattle. It is my thing. It's not everyone's thing, but it's my thing. Not sweet, not drenched in sauce. Very simple teriyaki chicken with rice. It' soo good!
google avatar

CJ W.

Yelp
Delicious food, adorable older couple, and decent prices. I love swinging by to grab some chicken teriyaki and fried rice on my way home. I called ahead and they have it ready before I can even get there. Decent price and the huge portion size makes the fried rice and chicken teriyaki into at least three meals

Christy O.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch with the family and was very pleased with both flavor and quality. Decent portions for a decent price and very kind owner's. We ordered 3 chicken katsu's and one galbi, each dish came with rice, salad ( the katsu's also had one teriyaki sauce and one katsu sauce ) the ribs and chicken were very tender and flavorful not dry or tough in the least. Marking this location as a return destination.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
When I moved away from Seattle I discovered that Seattle's Chicken Teriyaki is not what the rest of the country considers teriyaki. Now, almost every time I'm back, I make sure to get Seattle Teriyaki. Toshi's gives me exactly what I want. Lightly marinated, grilled chicken with a touch of char. Served on a bed of rice with a little side salad that has a thin (rice vinegar?) dressing. The lunch special reduces the amount of chicken a bit but adds in 3 gyoza that were also very good. Absolutely a great place for a co-worker to grab the to-go orders that everyone called in!
google avatar

Will S.

Yelp
This is probably one of my favorite teriyaki places in town. Simple menu with no frills and the food is excellent.
