Yelp
ToSokChon is open 24/7, and they specialize in pork-based stews. Their menu is pretty extensive, offering items such as soondae gook, dduk mandoo guk, hot pots, noodle dishes (such as kalgooskoo), soondooboo, and even meats (such as bulgogi, jaeyook bokeum, etc.). They also have seasonal items, such as bibim and mul nengmyun, offered during the summer.
Since most of the restaurants were closed, we decided to give ToSokChon another try and stop by for a late night meal. We ordered:
+#3 - Kimchi Jeon - aka, kimchi pancake; this was really good - could have been crispier, but it was filled with well-fermented kimchi, and the yangnyum ganjang to dip it in was a great complement
+#20 - Gamja Tang - stew with pork neck bones and potatoes; I took all the pork out; the stew itself is thick and hearty; wished there were more potatoes in this
+#27 - Kimchi Chigae - kimchi soup with steamed pork rib; the kimchi soup was okay, but the pork rib had an off-putting/pork odor to it that it had to be removed
The banchan was fine, but limited; nothing worth noting.
They serve hot barley tea, but you can request regular iced tap water, too.
The service was friendly, but not attentive - we had to wave our server down to get containers and the check.
They added a small refrigerator that held warm canned coffee.
Ample parking in the shared plaza lot, but can be tight.
