TLDR: JD WAS AMAZING AND I HAD THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN YEARS Full background: I went here a few years ago, wasn’t impressed with anything. I wrote them off til yesterday when they had my keg way cheaper than BevMo. Yesterday was a completely different story. Ordering the keg was super easy. I noticed the difference in price between what I paid online and what was on the keg board. I asked about it and JD said it wasn’t updated. Definitely thought that’d be the end of it and I was out of luck. However, JD said I could get a refund or a gift card for the difference. Just got a 12 pack and it was a bit above the difference and he comped the difference. Wasn’t substantial but I’m used to nothing so it was super nice. Jd also helped load it and was really cool. Anyways I’ll only shop here for all my alcohol for now on. Thanks JD!

YASSSSS QUEEN! Listen up, my fabulous darlings! Your girl just STRUTTED into Total Wine in Mountain View while my chariot was getting her new stilettos (tires, whatever) at Costco next door, and I am GAGGED and GOOPED! First of all, the RANGE, honey! The VERSATILITY! I saw more bottles than I have wigs, and that's saying something! The staff was serving HELPFULNESS realness - not a hint of shade when I told them I was just browsing and don't even drink alcohol. They didn't bat a falsie! Even though Mama doesn't partake in the spirits (keeping this temple FLAWLESS), I was living for their non-alcoholic selection! It was giving OPTIONS! It was giving CHOICES! It was giving "we see you, sober queens!" I'll be sashaying back with my gift card that I left in my other sequence purse, because this queen needs to stock up on some booze-free realness for my next viewing party! The library is OPEN, and Total Wine has ALL the books, darling! TENS ACROSS THE BOARD!

The store portfolio is just amazing! Both for wines and spirits. I have to highlight the bourbon consultacy that I had from Larry. He was very attentive abd knowledgeable about liquors

Total Wine has a large selection of products for all your needs. They have a large selection of wines organized by grape and region. They also carry every type of spirit including some nice premixed cocktails. Lots of less common items here also, such as Amaro Nonino and creme de mure. They also have a large selection of beers. They also carry some products that they source directly from producers that you may not find elsewhere. Most importantly, they have a friendly staff that will help you find what you're looking for, even if you only have a vague idea of what you want.

One of the best stocks of common and hard to find liquors, wine, and beer in the Bay Area. Whenever I need something for a special occasion or even just to try making a new cocktail, I always come to this location. They’re well stocked, store is clean and safe, the employees are knowledgeable and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. They have everything you can think of when it comes to liquor, wine, beer, and cigars. They also sell a variety of glassware, mixers, utensils, and other necessities for your bar. They also have a “chiller” which can make the bottle you’re buying cold within a matter of minutes. I always meet knowledgeable people here who share my passion for good drinks. Both the employees and fellow patrons are always a joy to talk with. Highly recommended visiting this place, especially if you’re looking to try a new liquor or wine not typically stocked at big box retailers.

You really can’t beat this store for your liquor needs. It has soooo much of everything! It sure beats our alcohol stores back home. 👍😎

I've been a member for quite a few year and now at grand reserved status. Overall the experiences have been ok. This is my first time trying to understand the birthday benefit since I didn't get any notification. Larry, one of the supervisor had been very helpful and understand what good customer service means. He not only help ensure I got the birthday special but also recommended some good spirits to try. There are quite a few Total Wine stores. I would come here because the services over others.

Very nice staff, but list prices are high, just so they can mark them down. Also, quality IPAs that should remain chilled are left at room temperature. This place is 95% corporate and maybe 5% artisan. Zero soul to this operation.

I came here for one thing: the mozart dark chocolate liqueur! And they had it, when it was out of stock everywhere else nearby. Yes, I'm picky, and was not willing to settle for an alternative. There was plenty of parking on a Sunday night (when Costco next door was closed). The store was clean and organized, and it was easy to find what I was looking for. Plus I saw they had a wine bar where they offer tastings during certain hours... how cool! There was no line at the register, and making my purchase was quick and easy, with help from friendly staff. I'm more used to Bevmo due to convenience of location where I live in the south bay, but Total Wine & More is more my style, and this particular store in Mountain View did not disappoint this past weekend.

Wine tasting is appropriate. Sample before you buy is the best. Server is very knowledgeable.

I alwasy shop here and the sales rep have been super helpful. My recent experience was even better. I called and asked them to put a 200 ml blue label whisky on hold. Once I got there, I found a few more items and was ready to check out when JD stopped and asked if he could suggest a different bottle of blended scotch whisky . We had a conversation about the blend and how it was more complex in flavor. At the end, he strongly advised that if I could afford to pay $20 more, I buy the 500 ml blend since it was superior. I went with his advice. Suffice to say, he was spot on. This can be had neat, with ice or made into old fashion. Super grateful for his recommendation.

For this location, I would seriously consider giving zero stars if I could. Placed an order for one of their premium selection bottles of bourbon, which was $150+. Per their policy, I had 7 days from my selected pickup slot. Shockingly, I received a text one evening saying my order had been picked up. Called the store and the manager was perplexed. I inquired how this error was possible, do they not double check names and IDs for orders before handing them out?! Manager said they would have to check the cameras and ask the person working, lol. Yeah right, okay! Couple hours later, still sounding unsure as to what exactly happened, I was offered a refund and told she would set a bottle aside if they happened to receive additional bottles. What a joke. That highly allocated bottle may never see that store again. Good riddance to this place. What a shoddy operation. I would drive 30 miles out of my way and pay above msrp to avoid this place!!!

I wish I could give zero stars . Employees are very unprofessional. Manger was unhelpful and very unprofessional. Threatened to call 911 on me for wanting to buy syrups (NOT EVEN ALCOHOL) I will never come here again . Also was my first time going there . What a great first impression! Will be calling corporate . The behavior displayed tonight has me in disbelief .

The staff are helpful and polite. Great selections and a variety of different options, flavors and the ability to chill your beverage for an impromptu lunch picnic nearby.

This place is like Costco for alcohol. They have all kinds of wine, beer and liquor. They give out samples too so you can try before you buy. I've been to a few of the tasting classes before the pandemic and it was fun, informative and I learned a lot. Today I bought a red wine from Chile that they recommended in the top 20. This tasting is available on YouTube. The second bottle was the cremant. These are champagne sparkling wines that are not from champagne but are wonderful and much more affordable. They have a lot of beers too. Plenty of choices for Oktoberfest. Great store with something for everyone. They have very inexpensive to luxurious items.

Very comprehensive wine store with lots of selection from cheap to expensive. California and France are where they really shine, with multiple aisles devoted to the various varietals and regions (respectively) of these two places. Their selection of Spanish, Italian, and Southern Hemisphere wines is also not bad, though their German section is a little disappointing. They also sell beer, liquor, and non-grape wines, though it is clear that they are first and foremost a wine shop. You can also get wine accessories and gift bags here. The staff is quite proactive and will ask you if you need help. They are often able to make helpful recommendations.

Great place to pick up your wine, beer and liquor at great prices. I believe this place has the most alcohol products you can find.

My aunt, sister and I went to this location to grab some beverages before we leave on our cruise and it just amazes me how bad customer service is now a days. We walk in and the store is empty for the most part and there are at minimum 5 employees standing around the front and not one welcomed us in. As we walked around shopping no one asked if we needed assistance. These were not only managers but also cashiers. We had been there for about 15 min and we finally found everything we were looking for more people started to come in. One group of Asian men the Asian store manager immediately welcomed them in and started assisting them with what they were looking for. Another middle eastern couple came in a different employee welcomed them in asked if they needed anything. Only difference we were black. I am a Director of Housing and services in San Mateo county and my aunt is executive assistant for a well known tech company in the Bay Area we both make well ok $100k so if it's not about money then it has to be race . This location needs to treat all be equal and not put everyone in a box bc of race. I wouldn't recommend this location

5/5 stars thanks to the attentive customer service provided by EACH AND EVERY EMPLOYEE we came across. My guy and I were in need of a few bottles and stumbled across Total Wine & More. Located conveniently right next to the plaza containing Costco, the bargains to be found in the area is more than enough reason to stop by and browse. Pick your poison when it comes to liquid courage because this place is sure to please. Yes, it can be downright overwhelming. Alcohol beverages, snacks, chasers, & whatever else you need to ensure yourself a great night can be located all under this one roof. The store is extremely clean and all aisles were fully stocked. Employees are located all around the store and they are quick to greet and ask if any assistance is needed. No need to hunt people down here!! Im a fan. Too bad this location is pretty far from home but I wouldn't hesitate to come back again if need be.

This review is solely for Oliver. Oliver is just a gem. He's extremely helpful and very knowledgeable with excellent customer service. We came in to purchase "Clase Azul Reposado" and a few cigars. As Oliver was helping us to unlock the bottle, he educated us on other tequilas that he thought we should try. He got us so excited with his upbeat personality lol, so we decided to purchase a second bottle of his recommendation, called "Mi Familia Flores Cristalino Anej" He also took the time to educate us on different cigars as he helped us pick a few with just great joy. Gosh, I just really wish everyone had his level of customer service and expertise when it comes to where they're working. I can tell he loves what he does! Thank you so much, Oliver. I'll know exactly who to come to when I need help in making decisions. I found my go-to guy. His recommendations were excellent, and we enjoyed it.

Went there to purchase an expensive bottle of Liquor as a gift and had a few questions on my purchase. Floor staff was too busy scrolling on there smartphones to assist customers. I noticed customers walking around and not getting help, while the floor staff (not cashiers) were too busy on there cellphone. I left and went to Costco. Corporate needs to have a policy of no cellphones while on the job. Staff should be helping customers .

I love walking around and browsing Total Wine and More! They have the biggest selection of wines and whiskies I've ever seen in a store. I no longer go to BevMo because the selection is so much better here. The employees are very helpful and usually have tried or know someone who have tried the bottles I'm asking about. Of course, with whiskies, it's all about personal preference but it's still nice to hear a second opinion. The store is well organized with their spotlight or targeted items right when you enter. The whisky and bourbon section is huge! There are so many I have never seen or tried before. Located in the busy Mountain View Costco plaza but there's usually parking in the rows near the store.

The guy with keys to open up the cases is so rude. He asked us if we going to buy before showing us an expensive limited edition whiskey bottle. This expensive limited edition bottle was inside the box so we want to see it before we buy. What kind of customer service is that? He should be fired from this discrimination. Who do he think he is! We would never go back and never want to see this guy again. Dear business owner, if you prove to me that you will fired this guy with the keys during 2/4/2023 at 6pm with discrimination. If you cannot prove to me and your customers that you will do anything to this guy, We have nothing to talk about. This guy will ruin your team so nothing you can improve if you keep him in your stores.

This is my second time coming in. Both times I've been very happy with the booze I have found and purchased. Today they had some wine tasting going on. Omg let me tell you, this wine is incredible. I bought a bottle on the spot. Looks like the hubby and I might have to make a date to go wine tasting. I recommend the winery. Especially their white wine. I'm not a huge fan of red wine but I did like the red one as well. The alcohol here is reasonably priced. I've bought a few small bottles of hard liquer and the hubs is trying different beers. Definitely a place we will come to often. Will be back for more wine tasting too. Need to find different wines. I do recommend the winery that was there today.

This is a smaller Total Wine but it's got the bells and whistles i.e. it's got a classroom in the back and it's got the bar in the center (for free samples). So it's worth checking the times for classes (which are cheap, like $20/person) and it's a $.01 for the samples.

Move over, Bevmo! Total Wine is where it's at if you want quality libations for a good value. Their store is neat and orderly with SO many options! One time I was looking for a particular cider and their employees were very helpful in trying to locate the item for me. I've also ordered online; very straight-forward and ready for pickup ASAP. They occasionally have coupons available which makes their prices unbeatable. There's also wine and beer tasting for a cent! Need I say more? There are so many reasons to shop here, the list goes on.

I love total wine and more in general, Tend to make one or two stops every week. Today the 4th of July I wanted to bring some champagne over to celebrate at my parents home, I was with my 18 year old sister and her 18 year old boyfriend as we were planning a Safeway stop as well not thinking too much they walked into total wine and more with me, Once I reached the cashier he asked me for my ID and everyone else's ID and stated if we were not able to present all ID's I could not make the purchase, I drove 20 minutes just for this and had to DoorDash, The drinks to my parents home, Wasted 40 minutes of my time just to be told no, Time is valuable and I won't be able to enjoy the champagne to celebrate due to being short on time, Total Wine should change this and should be considerate along with management, I was not offered one solution to my problem rather just no's, A sorry we cannot proceed with the sale does not make up for a waste of time and the inconvenience.

MY FAVORITE STORE! It's like Toys R Us for booze-lovin adults. I'm sure it's great for 21-year olds that love E&J and Corona, but it's even better when you appreciate a huge selection of top-rated beer, wine, and spirits. Here's the thing. As you get older, your palate gets more refined, your tolerance goes up, you're borderline alcoholic (those government standards are ridiculous!), AND you have more money to spend. Not that you WANT to spend more than you need. Either way, you need to find all your options, compare ratings, and get better prices to afford your large collection of vices. Let me tell you why this store is amazing. I went to a job interview around Mountain View. Hour long presentation in front of 3 executives. Didn't think I did that well, so I was forced to come here to buy booze and relieve stress. Strolled in and found a coupon for Racer 5 IPA. $11.99 for a 12-pack! It's $16.99 at BevMo. Saw tons of beers rated 90+. Some hard-to-find reserve collections of Belgium beers. Stumbled upon a free wine tasting event. Well, $0.01 for legal reasons. The friendly employees gave awesome recommendations on wine and beer as we tasted some sparkling, reds and white wines. Staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They recommended a $30 bottle of Beaucanon Cabernet Franc 2014. It's hard to find a 100% Cabernet Franc this good for under $100. They were spot on! Ever since, the price has risen. Even at $35 or $45, it's worth it. I say buy a whole case now. They have my favorite single malt whiskey, Aberlour 16! I'd been paying about $20 more for it at BevMo. They have about the same selection of beer that BevMo has. Refuge, Sculpin, Erdinger, Chimay, Firestone, Stone, etc. They have some pretty cool events like wine and cheese pairings, beer and cider tasting classes, etc. On top of the huge selection of wine, beer, and liquor, many of their wines and spirits are directly from the producer so no middleman. The workers told me they actually don't make a profit on some of these because they need to maintain an edge over Costco and BevMo. If you buy 6 bottles of wine or more, it's 10-15% off. I believe you can mix and match. I've seen a lot of other weekly deals, too. Frankly, a 10% off coupon means you spend the same but get 10% more booze, right? Best of all, I ended up getting that job in Mountain View, so looks like I'll be here every week!!

It's kind of like a BevMo on steroids. While I could get on my soap box and talk about the evils of big box corporate stores I will refrain and simply evaluate them on their merits. This is the first of their outlets to pop up on the peninsula. Taking the place of the old Pet Depot , it's a huge store. They generally have a huge selection and it may help you to do your research ahead of time otherwise you can get bogged down by the sheer volume of selection. The wine selection is extensive but I'm a creature of habit and will stick with my old standby K&L Wines. It's the same story with the spirits and beer selection. They have almost everything. You also can get all your mixers and snacks there as well. From a price standpoint it's pretty much the same as everywhere else except sale items. The staff is generally friendly and I have not needed any assistance so I cannot speak to their expertise. Also it's next to a Costco so the parking can be rough.

Oliver has absolutely outstanding customer service! He always greets me and my company with great positive energy! Oliver is great at getting you to buy more than you planned on! I love it here!

COVID19 review: Tried out their curbside pickup. Placed the order 30 min in advance and on the website they are able to get it done same day if you order before 5 pm. We waited by the entrance for 20 min, lots of shoppers in and out and getting their drink shopping needs quickly resolved. Finally no one comes out and I get a text saying order is ready. Defeats whole purpose of curbside pickup if we have to end up going inside to pick it up ourselves. Recommend just going inside and getting it yourself.

Oliver was extremely helpful locating the brandy I wanted and for offering an alternative to another brand of Irish cream I was searching for today. So very helpful, knowledgeable ans pleasant!

Damn you Campbell beer walk! I went in December and fell in love with a couple new brews. I am slowly moving away from drafts and into crafts. Is that even the correct terminology? Well, this little finding had me traveling quite a way to get what I was looking for. 2 pitchers brewery. This was the closest place to find it and I was glad they had a good amount in stock. I grabbed 2 of each to make sure I had a decent amount of supply. I love total wine, as the prices are always right! No comparisons needed.

Debra was my check our clerk and she was the nicest lady! I came here because I heard my favorite wine came in a bigger bottle! Stella Rosa Black comes in a big bottle?! What! I have to see for myself. And they were right!!! Cheaper than the other places i get. The workers here are very nice. I came after work i left early and went during my lunch time they had wine tasting too, which is only for 1 cent. I'm def coming her to get my alcohol cuz i feel it's cheaper than other stores. So huge too! And the biggest reason is cuz my big Stella Rosa black bottle!!

I've never heard of Total Wine before this store opened in MV. What have I been missing all of my life?? The best way to describe the store is Bevmo on wine steroids. I'm primarily a wine drinker so I didn't spend as much time in the other sections but, not only is the store huge, it's also very well organized. There's a walk in fridge for the kegs and big 30 packs of beers, and there's even a cigar humidor! The employees were all eager to answer any questions I had. One of the best things about the store is that they offer wine and craft beer tastings for 10 and 5 cents respectively. Don't leave your change in the car! Total Wine also offers various classes about wine, beer, spirits, etc. right in the store. I think most of the classes were around the $20 range.

This place has a good selection of everything, I am giving it 5 stars because they were the only place in the N-Bay that had what I wanted and inventory was accurate. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Yes, it's a chain store, but it's undeniably extensive and good. It's a consistently better experience than any Bevmo I've been to with lower prices and an interesting selection. I went to this location specifically because they had a melon liqueur I couldn't find anywhere else (and the online inventory was accurate!)

Wow. I am impressed. Mostly with Pam. GO PAM! I am an alcohol newbie and I wanted to get a friend a really really nice bottle of scotch for his 40th birthday. I wanted to get a 40 year old bottle and I had no idea what budget or what type of bottle to get for him. I called and Pam helped me on the phone... and then when I showed up in the store she helped me even more. Amazingly, the store had the bottle but did NOT have the box and papers that I want for the gift. Pam OWNED my problem, and she sourced a complete set from ANOTHER STORE OVERNIGHT and now I'm incredibly happy and I look forward to drinking the 37 year old Linkwood with my friend for his birthday this weekend! Pamela is amazing. She stayed late after her scheduled shift to ensure I got my bottle properly and she gift-wrapped the beautiful box and made sure I was taken care of. I wish all customer service was at this level, all other companies (esp BevMo) need to look to this store and Pamela as a shining example of how to treat your customers! I think Total Wine & More should should hire more employees like Pamela. Don't go to BevMo, go here!

The worst service at this total wine. I usually go to my Blossom Valley Total Wine and never have to venture out, but mine ran out of an item that I was looking for. This, I came to this one because they had what I was looking for, but at the same time I had a instant regret. I had the most terrible service. No one knew anything seemed like they didn't want to help anyone on a Sunday afternoon. Just to say I will never come back to this Total Wine. I am staying at my Blossom Valley Total Wine. Avoid this place like the plague.

Since moving up to the peninsula, this has become my go-to place for everything from novelty alcohols, birthday/Xmas gifts, and of course, for wine nights. Their selection is incredible, and I haven't found other places that are as affordable as TW&M. Although they have since stopped selling Hibiki Perfect Harmony, I enjoy their whiskey collections, specifically Tullamore Dew 12 year and Redbreast 12 year (both under $60). Price-wise, their Mix 6 where you can mix and match 6 or more wines and get a 10% discount is a great way to try different wines. Also, their customer service is fantastic - I'm always asked if they can help with anything, and for the most part, I have enjoyed their recommendations. Shout-out to Margeary though, because I've never had an employee hold a meaningful and endearing conversation with me at check-out. Protip: Join in their e-mail list and membership for even better deals!

What a selection! They have all things beverages - liquor, wine, glasses, bar ware and even a place to wine taste. Friends and I hung out in the whiskey section and you could spend quite a bit of time there. The aisles are long, the shelves are full and the top of the shelves were also piled high. Parking lot is shared with Costco so it could be busy. Try the Vietnamese spot next door.

Overall pretty friendly service--and they carry the very hard to find Stone NOFX lager brew! Ordered/Paid for it online for an in-store pickup--and ABRACADABRA--it was ready at the time they stated online! Seemingly simple to place an order online, but I've experienced my share of retail store screw ups. Thankfully this place is doing it right--and they carry the Stone NOFX beer. Although the beer is a bit hoppy (as the can says), I absolutely CAN'T turn down a NOFX branded brewski. Every time I see this beer, I have to play some nostalgic NOFX. Great job Total Wine! (Plus, a big thumbs up for their clean bathrooms that my kids get to use after wasting a few bucks at the nearby comic shop---but of course we buy something to use their john.)

Zero stars, for discrimination. Was checking out on Aril 5th. I'm European and my wife is Taiwanese Came to check out, my wife asked a question and cashier just stepped back and made face like he was not happy. I came over and cashier was more friendly and nicer to me.

I needed a bottle of French Alsace Riesling for my Gourmet recipe for Coq au Vin which normally calls for a red wine, but this used a dry Riesling that lends to a deep richness to a quick meal that has the depth of a slowly simmered stew. When I asked where I could find one the person I contacted took me right to the place where they were and recommended the Anne de K Riesling as he had sampled it himself! I bought it and am excited to report it was worth the trip to get it! Great customer service!

Think of this place as BevMo, but on steroids. It pretty much does everything BevMo does, but better. Larger selection, better prices, better staff, the works. The problem with this place, is you really don't know where to start. The selection is huge! You will almost instantly feel overwhelmed. Still, that might be a good thing, if you like the kid in Candy Land feel. (I like that feeling) Staff are incredibly helpful, and you will really feel satisfied with you experience. At the end of the day, probably one of the top spots to buy alcohol related products in the Bay Area. Pretty hard to top.

If you have a kid steer clear of here , Everyone in your party has to be 21 otherwise you'll be denied. Was very excited to come back to this store since it has my mothers favorite wine ,which I planned on getting last night with my sibling. I also got some wine glasses as well as martini glasses for my restaurant. Once I got to the to register I got carded and so did my sister who is obviously underage . I told cashier I was her older sister , and I was purchasing the wine and glasses but cashier insisted she needed her rightful guardian with her in order to continue my purchase . Now I did explain I was her older sister thus being her guardian but I felt targeted simply because we are of different skin colors, I'm much darker than she is. No where I'm the store or at the doors does it say everyone in your party has to be 21 and I was her guardian but I guess according to them I'm not. Fine whatever, I asked if I could purchase the glasses atleast, they said no cause my sister is under age. Fucking ridiculous, never coming here again

Total Wine & More is along the lines of BevMo, but has vastly more choices. They also offer wine tasting on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays for a dime per person! I believe they also do beer tastings from time to time. The selection of beverages is vast, and the store layout is very organized. The employees are very helpful with suggestions, or helping you find that special something you may not be able to find elsewhere.

Wine aficionados tell me most of their wines are off-brands, but I just buy liquor here. This store doesn't always have what I'm looking for, but they have a pretty darn good selection compared to other liquor stores. And the staff is always helpful and polite.

I love booze. Spirits, libations, liquid bravery, call it what you will, but I can't get enough. Total Wine is my new best friend, easily replacing other local chains with their selection, service, and prices. It's like a toy store for adults. The selection is wonderful. I've found spirits from around the world, many of which I've never seen before. I'm a big fan of scotch, tequila, rum, and bourbon, all of which they have plenty. There are many hidden gems which are quickly becoming part of my home bar. For example, I usually add Grand Marnier to margaritas and some cocktails. Total Wine had a special on Grand Imperial orange liqueur (about 1/3 cheaper than Grand Marnier). I tried it and loved it (it's a bit sweeter, but has a brighter orange flavor, ideal for mixed drinks). They also have rum from Hawaii (coconut), alcohol from local distilleries, and glass cases holding rare finds from around the world (Nice to look at, but no, I won't plan on dropping thousands of dollars for a bottle of scotch from the year of my birth). Oh, yeah... they also have a good wine selection. The beer selection is nice, but that's the only area where BevMo seems to surpass Total Wine. PS The staff always seem to be friendly, an added bonus for your visit.

TL:DR The customer service here sucks and we couldn't check out because one of our friends (who was 26) didn't bring her ID with her from the office. We left and ended up going to Costco. The cashier and the manager who we encountered were extremely rude, unhelpful, and dismissive. Pretty much the worst. Wasted 30 minutes of our time. See you never. At first, we thought this place was awesome. Great prices on beers, awesome selection of beer & wine. But then... When we went to check out, the cashier was having a casual conversation with the customer in front of us for a minute or two even after the purchase was completed. That's okay, lady. We got all day. We'll wait. Then the cashier rudely asked us ALLLLLL to show our IDs. One of our co-workers left hers at the office, and the cashier said we can't buy anything. She said she would need to call the manager to see if we can check out. The manager came, was very dismissive, and said there's nothing we can do. We would need to go back to the office, then have her come back with her ID for any of us to ever buy anything. He said it's "posted on a sign outside," so we should've known. I told them we're just going to go to Costco and never come back here. We walked outside and it took a while for us to find this "sign." The "SIGN" he was referring to was a little notice under their business hours which read something along the lines of "You must have a valid ID to enter the store." This wasn't a separate sign, and this sign also didn't let people know that you can spend 30 minutes looking around for stuff at the store, only to find out you can't check out because your friend was just tagging along for fun (she's 26 by the way). I suggested they get a bouncer if the policy is that everyone in the store must have ID. I also suggest they improve their customer service because the two employees we had an unfortunate encounter with were extremely rude and dismissive. None of us are ever coming back because our friend, the one who didn't bring her ID, is never coming back. And the manager said none of us can ever purchase from this store unless she comes back. Hahahahah like we would come back to purchase something after this terrible experience. Helpful tip because this place sucks: You can go to Costco and say you're buying alcohol at the entrance, go straight to purchase beer/wine/liquor, and buy alcohol at the register without a Costco Card. :) Yay! To the manager who comments on these posts: Whatever. Thanks for your copying and pasting the same response. If you're not going to put up a huge sign or have someone check IDs at the door, I really don't care about the 10 seconds you took to comment on my review.

I've been waiting for them to open on the peninsula forever. I got to go to the grand opening party, where they had the mayor, someone sabering champagne, and lots of samples of wine, beer, and food from local vendors (Alexander's patisserie, Oren's, Pokeworks, Chez TJ, Sakoon). I've always loved their selection... - They have some hard to find liqueurs for cocktails - Prices are also much better than at Bevmo (for example, Vya sweet vermouth is about half the price here) - They also have TONs of wine, including the fancier Bordeauxs if you're looking for theirs - They do lots of wine tastings - People who work there are genuinely interested in helping you and are usually pretty knowledgeable - There's a cigar humidor Again, I'm excited that they're finally open so close to me.

I was put in charge of the task to procure all the wine for the company holiday party of about 75 guests, working with a specific budget. The professionals at Total Wine Mountain View were there to guide me in selecting wine that punched above their weight class! Not only was I able to fit the budget, but was also able to get some good wine! Big thanks to Tuan, Kevin and Pam for the outstanding customer service. A couple of weeks back, I was going back and forth on whether or not I would go Bordeaux shopping. Jenny and Daniel were really patient with me and I ended up leaving happy with what I got.
