"It should be illegal to call those little plastic bags of dehydrated noodles you heat up in your microwave ramen, especially compared to the delicious, chicken broth bowls with tender pork, spicy sesame oil, and soft eggs you get at Totto. Most of the bowls are around $17 and there’s a good menu of small plates to go along with them at this casual spot with anime murals on the wall, so come with some friends for an affordable night out." - dan secatore

"Totto Ramen is a small chain with locations in Boston, New York, and Taiwan. We should feel privileged to be included in such an exclusive club, because this is some good, chicken-broth ramen with thin but still chewy noodles. You’re obviously coming to this casual, mid-sized spot with anime murals on the wall for the ramen first and foremost, but if you want something other than noodles, the fried octopus cakes are a good bet." - dan secatore

"Totto isn’t the best ramen in the city, but it’ll do the trick when you get that ramen craving that hits you roughly four times a week between November and March. The noodles are thin, the broth is chicken-based, and the spicy paitan with sesame oil is always a good call. There’s a small menu of decent appetizers too, but you’re coming to this casual spot with anime murals on the wall for the noodles." - Dan Secatore

Their chicken bone ramen is my favorite, but be aware that its broth is creamy and rich, if you don't like strong flavor definitely don't try that. Their fried chicken is super tender, and takoyaki is good and tasty as well. However they only accept cash, I went there without knowing it and that's the reason I only give it four star. Can you believe that it's 21th century and there are still some places in America won't take credit card?

Definitely not a must do- however the staff was friendly and attentive. Food came out fast. The place was clean. Food was a bit pricy for the limited portion they gave you. ($12 for the normal bowl, $17 for the larger bowl). No extra sauces /peppers to spruce up your Broth- what comes out of the kitchen is what your stuck with. Noodles and Broth were ....not the best I’ve ever tasted at a Ramen Establishment. I enjoyed myself here and would definitely say it’s a decent Ramen Shop. For a Quick Bite , Friendly Service, then this is the place for you. If your looking for an authentic Ramen Shop- move on. They accept credit cards btw...😊

Will always be in love with any bowl of noodles, but this bowl has my heart. I got the Spicy Paitan Ramen and it was perfect for a cold night like today. Their spicy oil went perfectly with the scallions, ramen, bean sprouts and nori. I highly recommend you get yourself a bowl of heaven because I swear it warms your soul with every bite ♥️

We both ordered the spicy paitan. The broth had no flavor. The pork was dry. The onigiri ( Japanese rice ball) was not good. The pull pork was dry and no flavor. It's mostly rice and no meat. We did like the side kimchee($5!!!) and the fried chicken bun.

There was only one vegetarian ramen on the menu, so I was prepared to be disappointed, but it was actually delicious. There was a lot of variety in the flavors and textures, but they all went well with each other and the savory broth. The bowls are large so be sure to come on as empty of a stomach as possible. It's a cash-only place, but the service was really fast, and the staff and our waitress were friendly.

Americanized Japanese ramen. (Details see below) ✅Pork: The taste of pork is very good. Mega has shredded pork and 2-3 big pork cube. Appropriate fat and thin ratio. ✅Noodle: Appropriate level of chewy and it absorbed enough flavor from the soup. Sadly mega doesn’t have enough noodle. (It focuses more on amount of meat) ❌Broth: I feel like it’s trying to go for the tonkotsu thick base, but the flavor is not strong enough. It’s like drinking water + umami. Good tonkotsu base is very thick, strong umami flavor and smell, oily (like drinking a bone marrow soup). If trying the light base (like shoyu), then this is too thick. ❌Onion: The onion in ramen was too strong that it covers other flavors. Scallion is normally what ramen use, but onion is pretty rare … if you want to put onion, maybe find those with weaker taste and slice it (rather than dice it)? ❌Seasoning (put in middle): Sadly I’m not capable to tell what the seasoning is. But just be careful (if you are reading this). It’s super spicy (it’s the onion/wasabi kind of spicy) and my mouth was dead. Either dissolve it into the soup or take it out, your call. ❓Egg: The color was dark so I guess it’s not that fresh. But I didn’t get stomach problem so debatable. $25.68 spent. Not cheap

Pro: service is kind, char siu and pulled pork is delicious, noodles are cooked aldente. Grean tea is refreshing. Takoyaki brings back nostalgia so thats a plus. Con: Broth is very thick, almost gravy like. Not that its a huge problem but it can make you feel a bit greasy. Raw garlic topping im not too much of a fan of, couldve cooked it. What i got: mega ramen, spicy, and paitan.

Totto was a surprise to both of us! They're the only place in Boston that offers a seafood ramen option, and their paitan broth is creamy and warming, and has a great, deep flavor. Solid noodles and a variety of toppings (plus a vegetarian broth!) makes this a fine choice for a meal if you're in the area, but we both felt like the ramen and broth weren't quite good enough to make us want to finish our bowls. We'd be happy to go again, but depending on the evening, might just make the trek to Ganko instead.
