Let me tell you about Tott's (Talk of The Town) Asian Diner. A friend mentioned this place a while ago, so when I finally spotted it while running errands, I thought, "Why not?" It was lunchtime, I was hungry, and it was time to see what all the fuss was about. I walked in and got a friendly hello right away, which is always a good start. My game plan was to order enough for tonight and tomorrow's lunch because, let's be real, leftovers are life - especially when you're single.
I always test a new Chinese place by their Kung Pao Chicken (it's like the unofficial litmus test - if they can do Kung Pao right, we're in good hands). I asked the guy behind the counter how spicy they make it, and he said, "Medium, like a 3 out of 5." Perfect. I ordered that and an Orange Chicken because, well, why not?
While waiting, he offered me a glass of water - solid customer service! The order was completed quickly and I was headed home in no time. Let me tell you, my car smelled so good!
For dinner, I dug into the Kung Pao Chicken. Perfection! The spice level was exactly right. The level 3 spiciness was spot on. I believe there's a fine line between spiciness and still being able to enjoy the flavor. I may be adventurous next time and get level 4 to see if I can fine that line. Tons of veggies, awesome flavor, and all-around deliciousness.
I tried to save the Orange Chicken for the next day, but... I'm weak. Had to sneak a bite. Worth it! Everything was spot-on, and the portion sizes were pretty standard, so you're not leaving hungry. The place was spotless inside, super friendly staff, and seriously tasty food. I will, without a doubt, be back again.
Next time I'm going to make a point of checking out their egg rolls, fried rice, Island Chicken.
