It's been a while since we had breakfast/brunch at Toucan Charlie's Buffet; so, on Saturday, we headed the for breakfast. We arrived at the perfect time because we walked right up to the cashier, no waiting. My niece even noted that the casino seemed pretty empty an I commented that maybe it's the lull after Hot August Nights but no, turns we were just early because by the time we left at 11, the whole place was jam-packed again. Anyway, when we entered Toucan Charlie's Buffet, the hosts informed our party that there was now a 2-hour time limit now; we were seated at a 6-top table way in the back of the room because the restaurant was "slow" according to the host. Our server, Hugo, appeared almost instantly to get our drink orders. The buffet had good variety of seafood: baked salmon, oysters Rockefeller, fried shrimps, chilled crab legs, oysters on a half shell, shrimp cocktails, smoked trout, etc. The carving station had roasted pork, prime rib, baked ham and braised steaks. There was also a huge selection of breakfast items including made-to-order omelettes, waffles, pancakes, French toast, crepes, eggs Benedicts, lox and bagels, muesli and smoothies. There was also a good selection of Mexican and Asian dishes, customizable Pho, a variety of breads, charcuterie, fresh fruits, salads and soups, plus a bevy of delectable desserts; there was something for every palate. Everyone in our party ate their fill (and it didn't even take 2 hours), just looking at all the food was a sensory overload and our eyes were full way before our bellies. I did indulge in the crème brûlée; I got a second one because it was so smooth and velvety, it deserved an encore. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meals, the experience was a bit on the pricier side but with all the food that you get to try, it's (almost) worth it. The service was great too; Hugo was consistently attentive, even though his section filled up with more guests. All in all, we had a good dining experience.
