"Toulouse offers a cozy Parisian cafe vibe in the middle of Dallas with old-school dishes including buttery, garlicky escargots, beef bourguignon, and trout almandine. It’s also the center of excellent people watching in the city, with it’s location just off the Katy Trail." - Courtney E. Smith, Amy McCarthy

GREAT FOOD OPTIONS AND SPEED OF FOOD ON A BUSY NIGHT WAS TOP NOTCH They have a robust menu, friendly and attentive service, my water glass was never empty even on a busy Christmas night. Ordered the lamb shank, it was tender and well flavored - very delicious. I would definitely order it again. I subbed out the green peas for asparagus, our server Eduardo was very accommodating and great. I’m not a fan of soufflés usually, but this one was delicious! Slightly egg forward but so light and fluffy and decadent - it was well done and worth getting again!

I highly recommend the brunch at Toulouse. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a nice morning with views of Knox Henderson. We got the quiche and avocado toast and found both to be very high quality for the price point. I hope to come back for brunch again and to try their other opportunities.

Excellent atmosphere, Amazing food and wine 🤤! Calamari, squid ink pasta, duck confit, lamb shank are sooo yummy! There is an OMG 😱 soufflé that you can’t miss 👍! If I live here I will come frequently.

I made a reservation a week in advance for a celebratory lunch with friends, and unfortunately, the seating arrangement left us disappointed. I arrived early, but despite that, the host seated us at a table directly in front of the bathroom, even though there were other available tables that would have been more suitable. I didn’t appreciate that the host didn’t ask if we preferred indoor or patio seating. What made it more frustrating was that a similar 4-seater table, just like ours, had only 3 people seated, which made me feel as though we weren't treated equally. I chose not to make an issue of it at the time, as we were celebrating a friend’s promotion, but it left a sour note on an otherwise special occasion. If I hadn’t made a reservation, I would have understood, but given the circumstances, it seemed like the seating could have been handled better. It was disappointing to feel like we were given the least favorable option

Google
I ordered squid ink pasta, duck confit, and Basque cheesecake. It was quite enjoyable. The only downside was the seating arrangement. The tables and seats were quite small, which made it difficult to order more food. Despite this minor inconvenience, the food was delicious.

I had a very beautiful experience here and the food was top tier. The bread was fresh and so was my salmon with the sweet potato mash!

Great lobster bisque for an appetizer. I had their baked chicken with spinach. Great atmosphere and service made this a wonderful evening.

Every year we are in town, we celebrate Christmas at Toulouse on Knox. This year, two of our friends joined us. Our reservation was at 2:00pm and we got seated at about 2:30pm. Yes, an acceptable wait since we’re familiar with the crowds. The restaurant is similar to great French bistros in Paris, crowded and small tables. But, the food is spectacular and the service excellent. Our server, Alex, was fairly new but kept excellent timing with our food and cocktails. Go there knowing there are small tables in a crowded bistro. The food and service is what makes it great. We’ve been back many times over 15+ years.

David P.

Yelp
My wife and I always go out for a Special Christmas Dinner every years and we always make it a new place to us and try to make it unique. This year I asked a good friend of mine what place she would recommend and she immediately said Toulouse - it was her favorite restaurant in Dallas. That was enough said for me so I made reservations and my first impression was made at the bar while we were waiting for our table when the young bartender made for me the PERFECT Old Fashioned, not many bartenders today know how to make those !!! Then we were seated and Edwardo took perfect care of use from the mussel appetizers to my wife's trout, to my lobster. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful inside was well. Trust me we will return many more times. Interesting, I was waiting outside for my wife when we left and an older gentleman walked up to me and we started talking, he said he was from that area originally - he said he had seen it change a lot through the years, he said Toulouse was originally an Ice Cream Shop that he use to go to , he would get an ice cream cone several times a week. He said the area had changed a lot, he said some good, some bad, but he was glad that Toulouse was there, he said he eats there often and is glad they are keep the original building as it was. For some reason this posted as a Brunch Review - it should have posted as a Dinner Review!!

Yelp
My friend and I topped in for a late lunch. The service was excellent from the host moving us from a 2-top to a 4-top so my client with a cane would be more comfortable. The waiter was very attentive to all of our needs and made very good recommendations. The food was delicious. Starting with a split Salad Niçoise, my friend had the Bouillabaisse, and I had the Trout Amandine...both outstanding. With a tall ceiling, lots of dark wood, and a French-inspired bistro patio, it would also make for a terrific date night venue.

Stephanie K.

Yelp
A very nice French restaurant. We ordered the muscles, devilled eggs, trout dip and crème brûlée! The muscles are really good and I do recommend it for seafood lovers. Pair it with some wine and you're good to go! The devilled eggs was just okay. Not something I'd order again. The trout dip is good to share but underwhelming. The crème brûlée is amazing! I really love it! We sat at the patio and it was nice! Customer service was great and I can't wait to come back soon!

Benz J.

Yelp
We are regular here, their foods and services are excellent. Managers and servers are very nice. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant at the same time.

Yelp
Toulouse in Dallas is an excellent restaurant with consistently great food and atmosphere. However, we specifically made our reservation based on the advertised chef-curated white truffle specials, only to find no such menu upon arrival. When we inquired, we were told it was a chef's decision to cancel, but this was not communicated on their website or otherwise. Disappointing for a special occasion, as better communication would have made a difference. Still love the restaurant, but this experience missed the mark.

Erek P.

Yelp
Escargot, mussels and salads were nice. Lobster bisque could do with more flavor, but had adequate claw meat. Lobster Frittata special was very light on protein.

Marica M.

Yelp
I met a girlfriend here for brunch on a Saturday and the restaurant was so busy! I made a reservation on line and I'm so glad that I did. I ordered a Bloody Mary to sip on while I waited for my friend to arrive. It was good and made well. For entrees, I ordered the quiche of the day and she ordered the beet salad. We both enjoyed our meals and the warm bread and butter that came before that as well. Our service was decent but you could tell that all of the servers were busting it and trying to flip tables quickly. It is pretty pricey for brunch but we enjoyed our time here.

Germaine B.

Yelp
Came here for brunch today, and was absolutely top notch. Enjoyed the French food- we had escargots as an appetizer, and they were very yummy and buttery. Pro tip: hold on to the plate and use the escargot sauce as a dip for the warm bread. So good! I had a Chanel No. 6 and my friend had the espresso martini, both great. The Chanel No. 6 is like a hyped up mimosa cocktail, champagne with vodka, chambord, and juice added in. I reco the eggs benedict with short rib, loved it. Quiche comes highly recommended by the staff also, but I found it quite heavy & large. Great if you're super hungry! I ordered the asparagus as a side, it came as four stalks... but was dressed very well, and also filling. The ambiance is classy (French), but came in jeans and did not feel underdressed. Service was friendly and prompt, no complaints. Overall a stellar brunch at Toulouse!

Yelp
Good, bad and unacceptable. The waiter was in the process of opening a bottle of wine when he accidentally shattered a wine glass on me. There were shards everywhere, especially all over me. Instead of moving us to a different table they left us with the broken glass. Afterwards, I realized two shards cut me inside of my sleeve. This incident was handled in the worst possible way. I ordered beef stroganoff and it was very good, the noodles outstanding. The hamburger ordered by my husband was mediocre. The service was good and attentive. What ruined it for me was when we got the check. By that time, I had moved on from the shattered glass. We were comped $12.00 for the broken glass, 1/4 the price of the bottle. Completely insulting.

Yelp
This neighborhood bistro on Knox Henderson offers solid French-inspired cuisine in a prime location right by the Katy Trail. Surprisingly, it was quiet for a Saturday brunch, so you might not need a reservation. Our meal was consistently good, with the Mussels Marinière being a standout dish. The service was commendable, and the interior is charming, offering plenty of seating options. The patio is a highlight, with both covered and open areas perfect for enjoying the summer weather. Opt for a seat on the uncovered patio for a delightful view of the lively foot traffic on the Katy Trail.

Yelp
This place is truly like stepping into a French bistro. The open air dining style, accompanied by French music, and the most fabulous smells will have you booking a trip to Paris asap. Despite being a more "casual" dining spot, the waitstaff are some of the best I've ever encountered. They will go above and beyond to make sure everything is right for you. The experience I had here was far better than many I've had at restaurants 2 or 3 times the price. Even with all of that praise, the food at Toulouse is truly the show stopper. All the flavors are so rich and comforting, you'll feel like Julia Child is cooking for you. I was also pleasantly surprised that the portions were large - this is not a restaurant you'll leave feeling hungry or wishing you'd ate beforehand. By all means, come to Toulouse hungry and ready to swap bites with your table.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Such a cute little restaurant on Knox Henderson! The indoor seating has an intimate ambiance with dim lighting, and the decor and lights give it a holiday vibe. Cute for date night, girls night, or a semi-fancy experience. The portions were a good size and the food was very tasty. Our waiter was attentive and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely recommend making a reservation if you're planning on going on a Saturday night. Wish we tried the lobster roll, so will have to be back again.

Victoria W.

Yelp
I'm OBSESSED with this place for lunch and brunch! I've been many times over the past few years and they never seem to disappoint! It's a quiet place right off of the Katy trail with good food and great service! Always anticipating the next visit

Terri N.

Yelp
I stopped by Toulouse as a suggestion from Sarah, from Aesop which is down the street from Toulouse. I didn't go too far inside the restaurant because I was extremely hungry and just wanted to sit and eat. So, I sat at a table on their covered patio just inside the door. I already knew what I wanted so my server, Joe, took my order pretty quickly. I ordered a steak with fries and asparagus. The steak was SO tender that I didn't even touch my steak knife (also because I didn't see it :) ). The asparagus was MOST flavorful and the fries were enjoyable as well. The service was quick and attentive (thank you, Joe). The price was a little more than I wanted to pay but the food was well worth it.

Levy C.

Yelp
If you like a restaurant with really good food, great desserts and excellent service then this might be your kind of place. There are some downsides: 1. There is no convenient valet parking but I am sure that all the restaurants on Knox have the same issue. 2. This place is loud and compact. The tables are close together. I could hear the person next to me but not the person across the table. However, it was my birthday and they brought me a beautiful candle and chocolate mousse. I would go back because the prices are reasonable and the service and food met my expectations.

Carrie A.

Yelp
Saturday brunch was excellent...the food was amazing. My husband had the quiche which he raved about. I had the vegetarian omelette on a recommendation of our waiter and it was excellent. This restaurant was a great introduction to French food.

Pamela H.

Yelp
Always a wonderful experience. Service is superb which is hard to find these days. The food is consistent and very tasty. This visit I was with a friend to celebrate the holiday. We stayed with the steak tartare. It is seasoned well and comes with a quail egg on top. There are thinly sliced red onions, large capers, sliced grape tomatoes, and two large toast points. It is plenty to share. We both had the filet with mushroom sauce. The slices are cooked to order with plenty of mushrooms of different varieties. We switched to roasted fingerlings for an up charge of $6 . Also included grilled asparagus. It was yummy. You have to finish with their soufflé. They have Grand Marnier, Raspberry and Chocolate. Chocolate is my favorite but my friend doesn't like chocolate so we always get the Grand Marnier. Highly recommend this wonderful place! Filet Au Poivre Steak Tartare

Winta E.

Yelp
This place is great for brunch. The croissants are amazing and so is the French toast! I also love that this location is right next to Katy trail. You can go for a walk after brunch and burn some calorie's.

Victoria E.

Yelp
Outstanding service, Joe our waiter took such good care of our party of 7, celebrating our friend. We shared the truffle devil eggs and crispy squash chips. My entree was delicious, lobster roll came with fries and coleslaw. The roll was fresh and very flavorful. Doors open so one fly would not leave us alone.

TS R.

Yelp
Still our favorite in Dallas. Brunch and Dinner. The greatest staff. Steak and Eggs's always perfect. Love fried oysters and Tuna Tartare, And the croissants, what can I say. Great cocktails and wine.

Miranda K.

Yelp
Only reason it's not a 5 star is because after having a 8oclock reservation and being seated at 8:45. But Jamie flipped our experience around completely with his amazing attitude. Than the food came out and it was amazing! Having different specials Dailey is always something to look forward too! Tables very close together about 18 inches from table to table. I could hear both table conversations next to me when we were trying to celebrate an anniversary

Maggie L.

Yelp
i'm loath to say it, but for one of our top brunch places, it was a very disappointing day. I had my usual, classic champagne cocktail. It was very very dark in color and determined that it was too much cognac. I drank down about an inch and went up to the bar and very very nicely asked the young man if he would top it off with champagne. He looked at me like I was wallpaper paste. Absolutely no expression, no conversation, he poured it and that was it. Our server seemed very distracted, and was not very friendly. Very very slow service. After waiting about 10 minutes, we had to ask for bread and butter. quite a bit after that, our order was taken. My usual eggs, Benedict was not up to par. I asked for runny yolks and set whites. The whites were set all right, but so were the yolks. Hollandaise was set on the side. Not their usual presentation. Also, the hollandaise was definitely off tasting. All in all, a disappointing brunch from a place that we always get a good meal and good service. Today's disappointment will in no way keep us from returning.

Kristy S.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the service + atmosphere is outstanding! Christmas lunch today with a dear friend. Mussels (ask for extra broth for more bread dipping!), baked Brie, and beignets for dessert. Kevin, our server, was fabulous and on point. The manager even stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking. Don't miss this local gem!

Sheridan T.

Yelp
I had such a hard time deciding what to order when I went here for dinner because absolutely everything on the menu looked divine. We ended up going for the fried oysters, beet salad, petit filet, and cheesecake for dessert. To have such a strong menu and great execution, you really couldn't ask for anything better. I will definitely be back to try everything else on this menu. Service was also excellent. The bistro/cafe ambiance really makes you feel like you've been transported to Europe!

Alex S.

Yelp
Best freaking oysters I've had. Absolutely scrum-diddly-umptious. Perfect. Lovely. Yummy. Amazing. Thanks Toulouse!

don j.

Yelp
Came in during the day and it was very relaxing, we had the oysters as an appetizer and was very pleased. (6) count oysters. The passion fruit was delicious, way better than the all day rose drink option..wasn't worth the picture. All around very fulfilling, delectable, presentation was 9/10 and we will be back.

Ezra C.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants not only is the food delicious but the ambience is very nice and the service always on point / grrrrreat. I love walking up and being welcomed by Serge the one and only!!! He makes us feel right at home. If you haven't tried this place you need to give it a try you won't regret it.

JJ P.

Yelp
Epcot France comes to Knox Henderson! A slap in face to French bistro cooking. Totally inconsistent, dirty bathrooms, indifferent service and snooty hostesses. Wine program is a joke, I believe they store the wines above the stove as they're served almost hot. More California trash wine over French too. Most of the entrees are Italian not even French(4 of the 9 entrees are risotto or pasta??). Lobster roll? Could they dumb it down a little more?

Leanne G.

Yelp
We had a delicious Saturday morning brunch on the covered porch. To start, the cappuccinos were so tasty. They were short, so the coffee to milk ratio was right on and the foam was smooth. The brunch dishes were all really good. We had the croquet madam, omelette provincial, and the omelette nature. The croquet was rich and delicious - smothered in a velvety smooth sauce with a fried egg on top. What a decadent treat! The omelettes were light and fluffy, and filled with nicely prepared vegetables. The omelette nature was made with egg whites and still held together well. The only down side we're the sides. About 1/2 of the fruit cup was under ripe melon and only a small portion of country potatoes were served. Service was great! Overall, a great brunch!

Danyel B.

Yelp
Today was a good day! Not only did I have great convo with a great girlfriend I had the best food and service today at Toulouse! I love the bistro feel and the food was delicious! I had the quiche of the day which had sausage and onion and other goodies inside....and a bomb Chanel No. 6! Well maybe more than one lol.... Seriously a contender for my top brunch spot, a perfect 10!!!

Marcin P.

Yelp
Great ambiance, delicious food. Wide selection of cuisine. Great service, nice lady was helping us with our order.

Greg K.

Yelp
A very solid brunch option. I always love the French ambience when you walk in the door. Great energy and fun setting. Our food was what I expected, solid but not truly memorable. Eggs Benedict, a brie app and salad. Service was on top of things and let us linger after our meal. You can't go wrong at Toulouse hanging out on a beautiful Sunday morning/afternoon.

Yesenia A.

Yelp
perfect for a romantic date! we went there for a valentines date night reservation and this place made me fall in love with french cuisine! i had the salmon en croute with the sweet potato mousseline and the brussels sprouts everything together combined so perfectly in my mouth. my boyfriend had the poulet roti and ughhhh the chicken with the sautéed spinach was absolutely perfect! i couldn't stop taking bites from his plate lol also our server was the one who gave us these perfect recommendations and he was so attentive!!

Mitchell M.

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years and, as with all of Mr. Lombardi's restaurants, it is consistently delicious food and perfect service by staff who have been there for as long as I can remember. Our daughter (age 15) and son (age 13) have been going their entire lives, and our disagreements over food choices end when we all agree on Toulouse. Mussels, steak frites, the daily specials, brunch foods, the best coffee, the best bread before meals, the best orange juice.... This is our favorite restaurant in Dallas (competing only with other Lombardi staples like Penne Pomodoro, Taverna, Maison Chin.... Thank you for feeding us so well since early 2000s!

Ben V.

Yelp
Inconsistent prep and delivery of food Some items were great other items were poor or inedible Nice ambience Next we will stick to appetizers

Dipesh P.

Yelp
Great service and tasty food at a piece of France in Dallas! What's not to love. Toulouse does a great job of recreating a French bistro right in the DFW. Right down to the cute small tables facing out towards Knox so you can do some people watching. The service is outstanding. Their patio is a glassed in, and more importantly, air conditioned space of amazingness. We didn't have any drinks (lunch meal so a little early) but the wine list and cocktails all looked inviting. We got the zucchini chips and calamari to start. Both were delicious. The zucchini chips were a little rich with oil but how else can they get that amazing crunch! I got the burger and my lunch partner got the lobster roll. I've become a big fan of burgers at French bistros. For some reason, I've had some of the best burgers at these kind of spots. And boy did Toulouse not disappoint! A perfect medium rare patty (it was two I think!) served with some Swiss, bacon, and avocado! Soooo good. The fries they serve are the thin, crispy kind that I personally love. The lobster roll was just ok in my opinion. It didn't have the huge chunks of lobster I'm used to and it seems to have some filler. I can't say for sure since I'm no lobster roll aficionado but that's my 2 cents. All in all a great spot for lunch and probably dinner as well!

John E.

Yelp
Came here for brunch during summer. They have good patio seating where you can people watch. The food was fantastic. I have the brioche French toast and the eggs Benedict. 10/10 recommend. Service was fast and attentive. Service is a toss up in most places when you sit outside. Not so much here. Very casual. Great place to chill out for brunch with friends.

Greg H.

Yelp
Absolutely no complaints. The food, service and ambiance were great. I highly recommend anybody wanting a great breakfast while in Dallas should go there.

Roman G.

Yelp
I came here for brunch on Sunday with my daughter. The ambiance was nice they had indoor or outdoor seating and the food options looked really good. We started with the warm Brie, banquette and garlic purée. The appetizer was good overall. I ordered the special which was a brisket or short rib hash with, potatoes and 2 poached eggs on top. The tomatoes made the hash a little watery but it had great flavor and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. My daughter had the lobster roll on a croissant which was good. Our server was attentive and gave very good service. Overall 4 stars

Jackie C.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and can't believe I never wrote a review. I LOVE this place and it is one of my go to restaurants. The dinner is always incredible, with wonderful service - never rushed or pushy but focused on making sure you have a wonderful experience. I love the mussels, the salmon, the cheese board and so much more. Don't pass this place up!

Randall W.

Yelp
My wife and I have been here 2-3 times and have always had a great experience. The atmosphere is that of an intimate French bistro. Very relaxing. Never any hurrying you out. The wait staff is attentive. The manager is on top of things. The bartender makes great drinks. The kitchen prepares wonderful meals. The deserts are lovely. We especially enjoy the bouillabaisse and chocolate soufflé. We don't go to too many places and this is always top on our list. I look forward to returning. I recommend you make reservations as it's very popular.

Larry P.

Yelp
Great quiche definitely the best in the area. Very nice atmosphere especially on the weekends and brunch. I love the one-man band. That usually plays the service is also always top notch. I would recommend this place to all my family and friends.

Robin T.

Yelp
Great location at Dallas institution but concerned about food quality. I would not order the lobster roll or french fries. Both were terrible and inedible for all 3 that ordersd at the tabl. "Lobster Roll very fishy and served cold with hot buerre blanc. Strange chilled roll. fries were cold and had no seasoning. soufflés and burgers made up for for some short falls but Egg Benedict also fell short since hollandaise minimal, lard any flavor and also cold.

Andrea J.

Yelp
Reviewing Toulouse again, 3 years later, and during a pandemic. I will say it was nice to not have a wait at 1pm on a Sunday! My friend and I met for lunch but they provided the brunch menu (they will provide the lunch menu upon request!). We ordered a bottle of champagne and then our meals. I started with the lobster bisque, then made the steak tartare and parm truffle fries as my meal. The reason for the 4 stars is my huge disappointment with the bisque. The flavor was fine but there were barely 3 tiny specks of lobster in the bowl. Unacceptable for a place like this. My friend got the French onion and as soon as I saw it, I immediately regretted my decision. My steak tartare was wonderful. A good portion size for the appetizer price, and the flavor was great. I will say 1 more toast point would have been perfect but I just used the bread from the table to finish my tartare. The fries were awesome, perfect combo of parm and truffle. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn't leave without having beignets. We got lucky and they threw in a few extras! Overall, the service was a little slower than normal but I'm going to guess that's just due to lighter staffing. If my bisque would have actually had lobster, it would have been a home run! I will still return because I like the cozy atmosphere and the food.

Andrew L.

Yelp
I loved the Dover sole here. And the fries were really good. I think we got some other stuff too, and I vaguely remember all of it as being good. But definitely try the sole! And the fries!

Katherine U.

Yelp
Had lunch there today. It's a nice French bistro. We had calamari appetizer and it was good. The goat cheese beet salad is delicious! The service is excellent and the food is great. We will definitely go back.

Lisa G.

Yelp
I have found that the last couple of times that I have been here that the service was slow and the food is not the quality that it once was. I am not saying I'll not go back but it here are so many places that are better with the same price point.

Cactus G.

Yelp
Amazing staff very helpful and nice explaining everything I need to know about every different type of cheese on my plate WOULD RECOMMEND

Kenya R.

Yelp
We were trying to go to Knox Street Bistro, but the wait was too long. We decided to stroll down here to check it out, and we weren't disappointed. I started with that Rosé All Day Punch and Chanel °6. My husband had the spiced old fashioned and the Le Perisian. We enjoyed all of them. For apps we had the deviled eggs and the smoked salmon. They deviled eggs were good. The smoked salmon was delicious. They give you a lot, but only like 3 toasted baguette slices. For entrees, I got the quiche of the day (sausage, mushroom, and cheese) with a large salad made with butter or living lettuce, but no dressing. My husband got the steak frites and eggs. The steak was big, and my husband said it was good, but not the A5 he likes lol. Brunch was delicious, and I'll return. I'm still trying to decide if it's reasonably priced. 4 drinks, 2 apps, and 2 entrees $168. That's just a little shy of what we spend at Uchiba for dinner, so I don't know.
