Toum - Review - Mayfair - London - The Infatuation

"Toum’s burgundy dining room is the kind of cool place we’d want as a backdrop for a thirst trap after a six-month posting hiatus. It’s where we’d want an ex to see us through the huge windows, sitting at the counter, skinny chip in hand, mid-catch-up, with a fresh blowdry. The buzzy, romantic-feeling room is a good mix of date nights and friends splitting a whole rotisserie chicken—and by 7pm it’s lively, without being too loud to have a conversation. The Lebanese menu sounds exciting but lacks oomph, with things like the musakhan rolls being too light on the sumac, and chicken that relies on the accompanying dips for any flavour. There are some stand-outs: the hummus is creamy and smooth, and the samboussek is a crispy pastry pocket of peppery beef and lamb that should be on your table. Food Rundown photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Hummus Hummus that’s so creamy it looks like it’s been piped with an icing bag, this thick, tahini-laced dip is topped with a herby green olive oil and crispy chickpeas. Get this. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Musakhan Rolls These pulled chicken rolls needed more sumac. More salt. More onion. More zest. More tang. More of everything please. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Rotisserie Chicken The rotisserie chicken is nice and tender, but it needs the garlicky toum dip to be interesting. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Samboussek Skip the pitta bread and dip these meaty pastry pockets in the hummus instead. They’re perfectly salty and moreish. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Slow-Roasted Lamb Shank On The Bone This is a hefty piece of lamb, and sure it could be softer, but if you’re stuck between the chicken and lamb, we’d go lamb. video credit: Rianne Shlebak Fries If you’re a fan of skinny, crispy McDonald’s-type fries, these are for you." - Rianne Shlebak

Toum - Review - Mayfair - London - The Infatuation

"Toum has opened its doors in Mayfair, where it specialises in rotisserie chicken and fun twists on classic Lebanese dishes. There’s a fun counter, a terrace, and a basement listening bar called Encore. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Food was great!! The chicken is tender and juicy, roast potatoes are very nice and crunchy, hummus is also very tasty. We would definitely come back again for the food but the service is a bit off, 2 of the waitresses were a bit unfriendly and forgot about our drinks orders also kind of rushing us to go once we paid the bill. But worth a visit for the food!

Finally, an affordable gem in Mayfair with outstanding food! It’s such a rare find these days to enjoy a great meal in this area without feeling like you need to take out a loan. This place delivers on quality, flavour, and value. We had a fantastic meal and were lucky enough to try several dishes from the menu. The chicken was a standout, perfectly cooked, moist, and full of flavour. A whole chicken was very reasonably priced and easily fed the four of us. We also ordered a few sides and a fish main, all of which were executed beautifully with flavour. We left feeling full and genuinely satisfied. I’d happily return and would highly recommend this spot for a midweek dinner or anytime you’re craving simple, well-prepared, and delicious food.

Absolutely incredible experience! I would give it 100/10 if I could. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, friendly, and attentive. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh and high quality. The chicken was unbelievably juicy — easily the best I’ve ever had! Every bite was full of authentic Lebanese spices and cooked to perfection. Honestly, this is the best Lebanese food in London, hands down. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. If you’re craving real Lebanese cuisine, this is the place. Can’t wait to come back and bring my friends!🤍👌🏻

We tried almost every single dish, and all of them were delicious. It's the best beef tartare I've ever tried. The chicken is roasted to the spot. The beef rib is OMG. Nice portions, especially the pasta from the main ones is for share. Definitely I'll go again and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Everything we had was delicious: half chicken, tomato salad, hummus, chicken Milanese, fries, and chocolate mousse. Service from Annabella was excellent. Gorgeous cocktail bar in basement open until 2am on weekends The restaurant just opened a few months ago, so I think some of the other negative reviews are a bit unfair. Londoners can be a bit too demanding. I’ve seen people get upset at waitstaff during a restaurant soft launch and the place wasn’t even a week old. Restaurants take at least a year to get into their groove

I had a last minute dinner at Toum on Saturday evening, I sat at the bar, the restaurant had a fun atmosphere with good music! I went straight for the main course of half a chicken with fries and green beans, it was delicious! I can’t think of a better rotisserie I’ve had in London or anywhere. The fries were super hot and crisp and the geeen beans were a lovely accompaniment. I also had the tarte tatin which was huge! Will definitely share it with someone next time! Thanks for a fun dinner, I will be back.

Excellent spot - the decor in here is lovely and plenty of sunlight, no loud music and spacious which is rare in soho. We ordered a few starts & the chicken. The large aubergine plate was wonderful the textures and freshness of the salad all worked really well. The Musakkhan rolls were light and crispy. The fries were v good. I think the chicken was a bit underwhelming to be honest. The house bread was delicious but v little zaatar and olive oil… chicken was juicy but a bit bland! I’ve had much better Lebanese chicken. We didn’t try any of the dessert but I’ll definitely be back.

Rotisserie chicken was an 8/10, packed with flavor and the jus was delicious, although the toum could have been better. The food came in quick and was delivered by a silent angry Lebanese chef, I have to say that added to the experience and didn’t take away from it. Overall a good experience.
