15 Restaurants Worth the Drive to Portsmouth, New Hampshire

"From the team behind beloved vegetarian bistro Green Elephant, this Thai restaurant focuses on Isaan cuisine from Northeastern Thailand. Sample drunken noodles, crab fried rice, and Isaan beef tartare. You’ll find pops of New England cuisine in there as well, like the lobster coconut curry noodles." - Celina Colby, Kate McCarty

Place & Taste

Google
This place deserves more than 4.4! An absolute gem—easily a five-star experience! The food? Outstanding. The service? Impeccable. The atmosphere? Truly next level. It’s become my go-to spot—not just for a delicious meal, but also for practicing my swing with my best mates before a big round. It feels like a home away from home. Without a doubt, one of my favorite venues in all of Portsmouth. Can’t wait to be back!

Held a 30th birthday party here for my fiancé and couldn’t be happier with the experience! The staff was absolutely excellent—friendly, attentive, and super helpful throughout the event. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and everything ran so smoothly. From planning to the actual day, they made it stress-free. Would definitely recommend this place for any special occasion or group event!

Tour still continues to impress us. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with sports constantly on the televisions above the bar. Tour is a golf-themed restaurant but we felt as if they catered to each guest as one of the family. The menu has a good selection of appetizers and entrees which caught our eye. We shared the pretzel bites with a mouth-watering cheese sauce. Our entrees were also equally delicious. From our table, we enjoyed the view of the open kitchen but missed the added personal touch of televisions at each table. I would recommend Tour to any of my friends or family. We'll be back soon to try more of the menu and test the golf simulators.

What a great night. The simulator was great - we rented just a regular simulator and we felt like we had a private space. Super cool place, wonderful staff, they could not have been any nicer or more helpful. Three different staff members continually checked on us throughout the night asking how we’d were if we needed anything etc. without being overbearing. GREAT food as well and a super cool vibe. Reasonably priced as well. We got two pizzas and apps- the steak and cheese egg rolls were delicious. Highly recommend

Google
Such an awesome night out at Tour! We did an hour on the simulator and really enjoyed just hitting at the driving range, and eventually switched over to some games. A little bit of a learning curve, but would definitely come back just to play gold! All of that aside, the food and drinks are amazing. I have been here for a cocktail before, but finally had some appetizers and more drinks, and they were all fabulous. Make sure you to make your reservation on Sunday’s for the simulators, and enjoy your time!

Tour Portsmouth is the best place for both fabulous golf and great food! The atmosphere is great, with every bay feeling like a private area, and great, friendly service! 💯% recommend!

Google
I've always enjoyed Tour located just south of downtown Portsmouth. Plenty of parking with a great bar, good food and a pleasant and respectful atmosphere and staff. I ove the fact that if you want to go in on a rainy day or snow day (or any day) and bring your clubs you can play a round of simulated golf, have a few drinks and lunch and be on your way. Or just come in for the games on the Big Screens and sit at the bar and enjoy the company and food. The Golf and Grill tag they are using now I think better identifies what they are and the menu has changed up as well and now serves (IMO) a more casual menu compared to the original menu (which was excellent by the way) that was more of a fine dining menu (again IMO). A recent favorite for me is the Pan Fried Potstickers or the Giant Wings. It's certainly worth a visit.

I don’t golf but we stopped in for a bite to eat. The ‘Big Pig’ grilled cheese with pulled pork was fantastic. My girl had the ‘Sweet Caroline’ and loved it as well. Surprisingly good menu for what we thought was going to be the same old pub food

Yelp
Delicious creative appetizers etc we have been here a few times, food is surprisingly creative. This time we tried the chicken marsala skewers, no words as to how delicious these little gems were, savory sauce with mushrooms over 3 large chicken skewers, wanted to lick the plate! Potstickers we have had before and as always they were yummy. We then split the turkey wrap, WOW, fresh thick sliced roasted turkey with the trimmings, awesome. Highly recommend you give it a try, great vibe in the bar!

Yelp
Food and service are excellent. The new menu is mostly lunch items but still top notch.

Yelp
Great, great, great place! The new menu is awesome. The food is consistently good. Service is good. I've been hoping for a restaurant with a basic menu with good food. They've nailed it! There is nothing negative about this place. It's a great place to watch a game or have a great meal with your family. It really is the "perfect" restaurant to sit at the bar or a table. Haven't had a bad thing on the menu yet. Nachos with chili, pulled pork potato skins, wings, pretzels all great apps. Burgers, wraps, Mac and cheese all great. Prices are very fair for the quality. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. Fingers crossed this place stays in business. It's kinda slow, but the golf simulators are usually all being used. Go...You won't be sorry!

Yelp
Tour is one of the consistently best restaurants in Portsmouth. My personal favorite is the Capresi pizza. Katie makes the best in the wood fired brick oven . My husband's favorite is The Arnold Burger. You can't go wrong whatever you choose. The service is always amazing ,and the manager Michael is right there with a friendly welcome. You can also sit by the or watch as other patrons practice on the golf simulators. Great food and entertainment, you can't go wrong.

Yelp
We had wonderful evening at TOUR. We enjoyed drinks and appetizers while playing golf. Then moved to the bar area/restaurant and enjoyed a delicious dinner. The service was fantastic. Lex made great drinks. The pizza was delicious! We enjoyed the casual atmosphere.

Yelp
TOUR Portsmouth opened fairly recently in the former Tuscan Kitchen building. The place looks very nice with a modern sports bar vibe and golfing theme decor They offer virtual golf simulators (4 spots/parties along the front wall, sort of like at a Topgolf), full long bar with high seating and plenty of flat screen TVs above, high top tables, booths (some with individual flat screen TVs), regular tables, private party rooms, plus an open kitchen, similar layout as it's predecessor. The food menu offers a variety of creative appetizers, sandwiches, salads, dinner entrees and desserts. The prices are moderate and slightly high. I stopped in at TOUR Portsmouth recently for dinner. I sat myself in a booth which had an individual flat screen TV with ESPN on. I perused the menu while I waited for the waitress to walk over to take my order.  I started out with an ice water and the Spiced Fried Cauliflower ($8), which had lightly fried cauliflower pieces, arugula, chimichurri drizzle, and shredded pickled vegetables. This was good and light, but it was not spicy. For dinner, the Wagyu Ragu ($18) had firm egg pappardelle noodles, basil, hand dipped ricotta, house-made ragu with Wagyu beef, very good and very similar to the short rib pappardelle dishes I've enjoyed at other area restaurants. This pasta dish was just right and not too heavy.  For dessert, the Apple Crostata ($10) was comprised of a hot baked firm flaky pastry shell filled with sweet & tart apples, cranberries, raisins and walnuts with a very minimal scoop of vanilla ice cream & caramel sauce. This dessert hit the spot. The dinner check for one was $40.15 with tax and before tip. I was able to pay online by scanning the QR code on the receipt. The food was solid good and the service was acceptable. During my dinner visit, I was able to relax and enjoy the laid back atmosphere and seeing several patrons practicing their golf game on the other side of the bar. They also offer bar service while playing golf. Perhaps, if I can gather some buddies, I can come back to try out the golf simulator here.

Yelp
This place is what all restaurants and simulators should aspire to. The staff is attentive, fun, and patient, especially when it comes to setting up and tending to the simulators. I've been going here since they opened and through menu and staff changes the constant has been great service, food, and a stellar environment. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
What can I say about Tour...the golf was fun and a great time. We (me +1) played 9 holes in an hour while snacking on some awesome apps (spicy teriyaki chicken wings & pretzel bites ). After we jumped over to the bar/restaurant area and enjoyed blue cheese burgers that were also delicious. I highly recommend Tour for a fun time with your buds or even as a date night. The rest of the menu looks amazing and I cannot wait to go back and try it all again!!! Enjoy.

Yelp
Hosted a rehearsal dinner at Tour Portsmouth. The Bride and Groom wanted something casual and fun. Everything was excellent. We reserved the private event room, the executive simulator and simulator 4.. The atmosphere is comfortable and has a country club feel. We had the veggie and hummus appetizers, pizza party with the cookies for dessert. Everyone enjoyed the food and venue. The manager Mike helped coordinate everything by email and phone and always replied promptly and professionally. The servers did a great job keeping up with the drink refills. I thought the pricing was very reasonable. Fun, good food, drinks, golf , family and friends just perfect.

Yelp
Best coffee shop in town, Mike the manager has the best hair a man could possibly have. And the pizza oven sets the sexiest ambience

Yelp
We were looking for a cool night with friends and we hadn't tried Tour. Last I knew it was a Tuscan Kitchen But it came and went pretty quickly because of the pandemic. Made a reservation for 5 for one of the simulators at 7:40 pm. We walked in to an empty hostess station and we're not sure what to do. After a couple minutes we kinda. Strolled in? Huge place. Excellent atmosphere, but absolutely dead for a Saturday night. I guess I am not sure when the busy days or times would be for indoor golf- dinner-and drinks tbh. The manager (super friendly and helpful guy)came over and got us set up with our simulator and gave us the full run down of how to operate the screen and everything in the simulator. They are actually VERY cool and huge sections. Plenty of room for 5 of us. There are bar tops and stools at each simulator. Almost like your own VIP box. We ordered drinks. Mimosas. A lemonade one. A whiskey drink. (Sorry I forget the names). All delicious. We ordered pretzel bites which were delish. A burger. Excellent. An order of spring rolls or egg rolls. All tasty and cleaned our plates. We will absolutely be back. A great place to do something different. Take a date. A bunch of friends. With really good food, drinks, and vibe.

Yelp
Service was friendly but forgetful. Food was below mediocre. Felt terrible the next day. Didn't use the golf simulator so maybe that's worth going for, but definitely not for the food.

Yelp
Dinner with my wife on May 20th. Food was exceptional. Atmosphere relaxed. Bacon bombs and Cheesesteak Eggrolls as App's by fireplace and then Pao Chicken and Salmon for dinner at a high top. Awesome.

Yelp
We have dined at the Tour twice and both times they did not disappoint. Food an service both excellent. We will definitely be going back. Lots of TV's to watch the game or sit in a both and have a quite talk. Do yourself a favor and try the Tour.

Yelp
First time there we were met by the bartender and he was cool. Attentive and casual. People were great. Issue is the cost is outrageously expensive. Maybe it's me but $46 for a filet is a bit over reaching. And my wife had a drink and it was $9. Yea. Not going there again.

Yelp
The food was delish! Especially the Filet medallions & Wagyu Ragú. Everything was thoughtfully cooked & our server Abigail was attentive & friendly! Definitely recommend
