"The historic building that houses Tourist Home was once a boardinghouse for Basque sheepherders who grazed their flocks in Flagstaff in the summer, but owner Kevin Heinonen completely renovated the dilapidated old structure in 2014, keeping its good bones while transforming it into a sunny, appealing hangout for breakfast or lunch. The place excels in coffee and sinful sweets, which is no reason to ignore the savory side of the menu, which includes sandwiches, quiche, fried chicken and biscuits, and arguably Flagstaff’s best breakfast burrito. Linger over cocktails or beer on the large patio." - Nikki Buchanan

Google
Friendly, helpful service from the entire staff. We felt welcomed and appreciated. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the French toast with berry compote, the breakfast burrito with sausage and the traditional breakfast. Great coffee, iced tea and orange juice too!

Google
Tourist home cafe. Great options. Sit inside or outdide, menu features New American cuisine with a touch of southwestern flair. Tourist Home is Flagstaff's ideal spot for breakfast, lunch, and of course, brunch. With locally roasted coffee, brunch cocktails, extensive outdoor seating, and the best breakfast burritos in town, Tourist Home is a no-brainer to start your day and keep it going.

Google
Coffee ok. One staff friendly and cheerful, another seemingly in bad mood and made me feel unwelcome. Mixed feelings on service. Beautiful cafe with nice patio.

Google
Lovely experience, that requires a regular visit! Staff are exceptional, warm, welcoming, friendly and fast! Food is delightful and delicious, fresh, wholesome, something for everyone's taste. Seating indoors and outdoors are cosy and ample, great ambiance and the old town setting just adds to the 'must visit' vibe. Lots of street parking. A joyful restaurant experience!

Google
100/10 for flavor. I ordered the breakfast tacos, which were LOADED! I could only eat 1 of 3 but it was amazing. My daughter got the classic breakfast and the wifey got the french toast, all of which were also amazing. The service was fast and friendly, would definitely recommend.

Google
Great place, beautiful patio, music and food you don't regret eating!!! The best staff too.

Google
Delicious local breakfast/lunch location. We ate breakfast here. The fresh pastries, steak and eggs and breakfast burrito were all delicious. Plenty of space inside and outside. Outside areas have fire pits/warmers and space for kids to run around. Dog friendly. Clean bathrooms with a changing table. Very friendly staff.

Google
We had a wonderful Father's Day breakfast out on the patio! Food was 100 and Shelby was an awesome, proactive and helpful server. Such a cute and friendly spot!

Yelp
My friend and I were staying in Sedona and everyone kept telling us to get to Flagstaff at some point. Only about 45 mins away, we decided to drive up on our last day to get some breakfast. This spot alone had me looking up housing prices to see if I could afford to move here. The donut. Get the donut. Get all of them. It was like a homemade French Cruller. Best donut ever. And the lavender lemonade? Again, best ever. I was seriously having such a good time just between those two things. I also got a typical breakfast plate, sunny side up eggs, housemade sausage patties, and crispy potatoes. THE SAUSAGE patty was probably top 2 I have ever had in my life. Incredible flavor. I will never not stop talking about how good this place is. Perfect corner to eat out on the patio or inside. My friend got this mimosa flight that looked delightful. An older lady passing by actually stopped to chat with her about it.

Yelp
Our FAV breakfast spot in Flag. I get the chicken and biscuits every time and it doesn't disappoint. My husband always tries something new and it's hit or miss. This visit he got the steak skillet and there was hardly any steak. So we wouldn't order again. Last time he got the Benedict dish and it was YUM. As much as we enjoy this place - it bothers me that I have to order from the counter, self serve drinks and they still expect 18% gratuity. IMHO if I'm not getting full service you haven't earned 15% so setting your minimum default tip to 18% is unreasonable. The service is also hit or miss - no one checked on our food until we were done - when we shared feedback she stated 'you should have said something, I could have fixed it.' She should have asked sooner.

Yelp
Waited 50 mins for our food to show up and they forgot my bacon. Ordered a breakfast burrito and T Bone Breakfast meal. The barn we sat in, 2 of the heat lamps were out so it was just cold No service to ask for refills or anything during that time Potatoes were partially uncooked in the middle.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Best causal breakfast in Flag! The vibe is cute and fun, and the food is very flavorful with perfect portions. We love that the breakfast burrito is with tater tots - they are cooked to taste like rice but with a fluffy texture! Don't sleep on Tourist Home!

Sarah D.

Yelp
One of my go to spots in town! They may be my favorite almond croissant ever. Lattes are spot on... Definitely one of my favorite breakfast burritos ever... Overall basically you can't go wrong here.

Jenna N.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the mimosa flight was fantastic, not to mention super cute! Very relaxed atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and kind.

Mannie S.

Yelp
It is a little hard to decide whether to go for a 4 or 5, but I think Tourist Home would get a 5 as a breakfast spot and a solid 4 as as coffee shop. As of 2024, I think their French toast has improved significantly compared with the pre-pandemic era. Very well made with just the right consistency. The churro cruller my husband got was also on point - especially good when it's just made. The latte was good - for sure better than a Starbucks latte if that matters. Not quite a specialty coffee shop standard, but very solid for a breakfast restaurant. The service was also very good, especially for a not-waited restaurant. Would definitely be back for their food.

Frana C.

Yelp
Hubs and I came here and are happy we did! I forget to take a picture of his breakfast tacos, but he inhaled them. He said, "They were good and he liked the flavors. The carne asada was tender too! Oh! I loved the salsa Verde!" I loved how well every part of my burrito was well seasoned, but not overwhelming. The burrito had enough carne asada in it! I didn't feel cheated at all.

Colette A.

Yelp
The only reason I gave a four star was because the soup was just about cold ): maybe they leave it that way because it's only intended for dipping? Maybe it sat out too long? Not sure, but overall I LOVED the taste of everything, we added bacon in the grilled cheese, no regrets! The yogurt was very luscious, I like their outdoor seating area, tons of options, inside was also very cute.

Kassey T.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! You walk in and order at the counter- they have lots of specials and additional items than what's on their posted menu. There is seating both indoors, and on the front & back patio. You put a number on your table and they bring it out to wherever you choose to sit. We liked the back patio that had lots of space for my toddler to run around, as well as a giant connect four game! Food was good, nothing amazing but I'd like to come back and try something else on the menu since they had so many options!

Dean B.

Yelp
Had breakfast here today. They do lunch also. Nice vibe, big dog-friendly outdoor seating area and some indoors. Good service and overall great food. I had the steak and egg skillet. It was well-prepared and featured a delicious green chile hollandaise with just enough heat. Good coffee bar selection as well and my cappuccino and espresso were both just fine. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes and we shared an order of beignets, which were fantastic with the raspberry sauce. Solid breakfast apart. Would recommend and will go back.

Yelp
This little spot was busy but seemed to be in rhythm when my husband and I visited on a Sunday morning around 9:30. It's open seating Which is nice but also a little anxiety inducing when trying to lock down a table at the same time as everyone else but when you order, they give a number so they know where to bring your food. The menu is pretty basic, not a whole lot but had awesome options. I read a review for the carne asada breakfast tacos so naturally that was our choice along with mimosas. Took awhile to get our food but we expected that with the busyness of a Sunday morning but we got our drinks right away. Mimosas were as expected...more bubbly than OJ :) hard to mess that up, and tacos were fabulous, so much so that we placed another order of 3. Carne Asada was seasoned well and the toppings complimented the tacos for a nice and tasty breakfast/brunch fix. Needless to say we will be back when in the area!

Yelp
This little gem is located in the historic Flagstaff. It's not a full sit down restaurant because you have to order at the counter and self serve with the cutlery, water or drip coffee. We went there for brunch at around 11 on a Saturday so naturally the place was rather full and we had to wait a few minutes for chairs to become available. It's one of those place where you have to linger around a group that's about to leave; a downside to the eating experience. However, the food makes up for the inconvenience and expensive parking ($12 for 2 hours at the lot across the street). We ordered fried chicken sandwich, steak and eggs, and the traditional breakfast. All was really good. The fried chicken was delicious and not dry at all. My steak was very flavorful and tender. The homefries were super crispy. But of course you have to try the churro donut....which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside!

Fannie H.

Yelp
A wonderful cafe with outdoor seating made for a great morning. I tried the gluten free Cruller which to my surprise came with sprinkles and to wash it down I celebrated the day with a simple mimosa. Both were delicious, both should be sampled

Ashish N.

Yelp
Had the lavender lemonade and granola parfait. It has a nice welcoming vibe and I really liked the granola parfait. Lemonade was too sweet for me and I didn't like it too much.

Zubir E.

Yelp
Came here on Sunday morning at 8am, no lines and lots of seating available. Tried the French toast which was amazing the steaks and eggs skillet, this was just ok, lots more potatoes than steak. The latte was really good. Will try the break burritos next time which was highly recommended.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Love this place! Menu options very unique. We wanted to try the breakfast burritos and they were amazing! I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

Mr C.

Yelp
People are nice. French toast looked good hence 2 stars. I didn't order it. Prices are atrocious and that's coming from Bay Area. $20 for two eggs and drip coffee breakfast. Chicken biscuit with two eggs was gross. Mostly breading barely any chicken and eggs overcooked despite asking for over easy.

Gabi M.

Yelp
Tourist Home was on my list of places to try in Flag for quite some time... and I finally made it there this summer. And I liked it so much, I went back again, again and again! I've now done take-out, dined-in, and eaten a couple of times on the patio of Tourist Home -- My husband joined me there twice and my puppy joined me once as well! Needless to say, I'm a fan! I recommend the Cobb Salad, Grain Bowl, and Quiche, but those are also the only things I have tried. The sandwiches, burgers and fries, and baked goods also look delicious. I need to return for those things and for breakfast too -- TH is supposedly known for their breakfast burritos! I do wish they offered an iced green tea option, but the Arnold Palmer with black tea is the next best thing... I'll be back!

Steven K.

Yelp
This place went downhill in my book. I've been coming here for the last several years and have enjoyed their breakfasts but recently their breakfast burrito was not that good. The hash browns were very soggy this time and the salsa was very sweet with no spice at all. They also drastically decreased their pastry options and their cruller wasn't very flavorful and needed some help. It's also super expensive. A breakfast burrito, cruller, and coffee for almost $25 is criminal. They need to step up their game.

Stephen H.

Yelp
Lost our order but no one noticed. After watching people who arrived after us get served for 30 minutes, I went to the manager, who was very apologetic and fully comped me the meal. However, when we finally got our order, it was wrong! One more try and we finally got what we wanted, but it wasn't good. My turkey sandwich was tasty and the fruit salad was fresh and delicious, but my husband's egg sandwich wasn't edible. The croissant wasn't a croissant. It was crescent shaped, but that was about it. The French fries and fried potatoes tasted like they were previously frozen, and in no universe is cocktail sauce a suitable replacement for ketchup.

Elaine Y.

Yelp
Visited Tourist Home Cafe on our way out of Flagstaff as they were one of the only spots to open early and two, CHURRO DONUT. When we arrived, it was pretty chill. I liked that they had some outdoor benches along with the option of sitting inside. I think their kiosk ordering system is also efficient and the ability to place the resulting pager on the table to signal the staff where you are sitting is super cool! We ordered a couple small plates to share including the breakfast burrito with green salsa, two variations of donuts, biscuits and gravy, and French toast. Everything we had was really good! The breakfast burrito was chocked full of eggs and smashed tots and the green sauce went perfectly with it. The biscuits were buttery and fluffy and the gravy was creamy and savory but also wasn't too salty. The French toast had that envious crispness on the outside with a deliciously fluffy interior. But really back to point 2 because that's why we came. The churro donut was really really good! It's more like a crueler that's dusted with cinnamon sugar but it was crisp, light, and perfectly spiced! We also got a glazed version with bacon but we all agreed it was a little too heavy even though the bacon did provide a nice little smoky bite to it. After finishing our meal, we actually went back in for a second churro donut - yes, that's how good we thought it was!

Marie A.

Yelp
We were recommended this place from a barista at Late for the Train. We wanted to come early just in case it was busy. The interior is really nice, very hipster vibe. I ordered the traditional breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, country potatoes and 9 grain toast). My boyfriend ordered the steak skillet. My food was really good. The bacon was thick and cooked just right. The country potatoes were salty and crispy, as they should be. They gave me a lot of eggs. My boyfriend enjoyed his skillet. It was all piping hot and fresh. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Toni S.

Yelp
Great food! Friendly staff. It was pretty empty when we went in so it was quiet and we were served very quickly. Would definitely return. I had the chicken biscuits and they were very yummy!

Mike D.

Yelp
We did lunch .. crullers were great.. sandwiches were just ok.. chicken pesto ok. Ruben not - meat was too chewy. Service was good. Ambiance was hip coffee shop.

Pam M.

Yelp
Cute restaurant in the downtown area of flagstaff. When you walk in you order your food at these kiosks while somewhere is near by to assist if needed. They have tons of seating inside or outside. I ordered a granola, fruit and yogurt bowl and my hubs got the chicken biscuit. We both enjoyed what we got.

J C.

Yelp
Exceptional food. Quiche, French toast, chicken and gravy, and Benedict were all loved by my family. We also got fresh squeezed OJ and some drip coffee. All were great.

Jodi G.

Yelp
A nice mornings walk from any hotel. This is a definite YES. The place has a very nice vibe to it. Well decorated inside as well as outside. The only con is that there's not much table space inside... outside, yes... weather may be a factor of the overall enjoyment experience. The service at the counter was at first... slow... then became upbeat upon a friendly conversation. The breakfast meals were spot on! Taste... texture...everything! Cost... a tad high but overall a winner in a small town of numerous places to choose from. Enjoy!

Andrea R.

Yelp
Breakfast hash was so good. Chorizo, sweet potatoes, beats, 2 eggs with chimichurri. So savory! Cozy, rustic vibe.

Wendy H.

Yelp
Waited 30 minutes for a grilled cheese and soup. It wasn't even busy. When the grilled cheese arrived it was cold and the cheese wasn't melted. I also ordered a glass of bubbly and they brought me a little glass, telling me they were out and would take it off the check.

Barbara L.

Yelp
Great food, kitschy setting! Gets busy during lunch. It's an order at counter place and self seating

Elyse H.

Yelp
We enjoyed our breakfast here! Staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. We'll be back for sure.

Mike L.

Yelp
Burnt. So much burnt. Everything burnt. Eggs ordered over medium. I didn't think there was a level beyond over hard. Turns out there is. I'm calling it over crispy. Yes, the whites were so burnt they were actually crispy. Not just the edges - about half of the whites were literally crispy. The country fried potatoes were black. The skin was black, the flesh was black. Most of the plate was some shade of black. The sausage was the least burnt, but it was still overcooked enough as to be chewy and burnt-tasting. I'm 54 years old, and this was the single worst plate of food ever put in front of me...by some margin. Plates like that are mistakes. They should be thrown away and started again. That plate of food never should have left the kitchen. I normally don't leave bad reviews. Things happen. Kitchens get busy. Things end up a little under or overcooked sometimes. I totally get that. But this was so egregious that I can't ignore it or overlook it. You can't waste people's time and money like that. It's disrespectful and a slap in the face to your customers. I won't be back. But please do better for others.

Julie S.

Yelp
Great little fined after a 6 mile run , came from out of town , always hard to find vegan/vegetarian food, this place was amazing , well staffed , indoor out door seating , busy , nicely following , walked in order , waited a little bit , but a good time to chat , prices are great , lots of food for your money . Place was clean , no music blasting in your ear , so easy conversation. A must tried

Dave P.

Yelp
From the moment our party of four walked in the door, we liked the place. Welcoming and helpful staff, great food selections and fairly priced. Especially enjoyed the huevos rancheros and as a side dish, a fresh French Cruller! Will certainly return on our next visit to Flagstaff

Megan A.

Yelp
Tasty breakfast and very friendly service. It's a casual, order at the counter spot so it was easy to get in and out for a delicious meal pretty quickly. I had the Benedict with smoked pork and my husband had the classic breakfast. We were hoping to try the churro cruller but unfortunately they were out today. We'll be back again to try and snag one!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Came here because the menu and reviews mention gluten free. Before ordering I asked the staff at the front if their potatoes on the gluten free dishes were cooked in a shared fryer, rendering them not gluten free. Yes, they are cooked in a shared fryer. One of the women behind the counter said GF means "gluten friendly" not "gluten free." What does that even mean? People who aren't able to eat gluten aren't friendly to gluten. She said their food is cross contaminated so it's not safe for Celiacs. I have Celiac and asked what I could have that is safe for Celiacs and they said the granola bowl or the ancient grains bowl that contains FARRO - a type of wheat! Wheat contains gluten. Clearly they have no idea what gluten is if they suggest a dish with farro. I said, "if it's not safe for Celiacs, it's not gluten free. I wish you'd take off these gluten free markings when it's not gluten free." People who have a wheat allergy or Celiac like me depend on accurate markings. Having a shared fryer but falsely marking your food gluten free is like marking your food kosher or vegan and cooking it in lard. It's false advertising that could make someone sick. Gluten free isn't a fad or a marketing tool. It's a necessary designation that people with medical conditions rely on to eat safely. August 2023

Lucia C.

Yelp
With all of my allergies (gluten, eggs, diary, and nuts) I was only able to try one thing, but it was very good! I had the vegan eggs, beans, and tortillas! was defintly missing spice, but the vegan eggs were very good!!! Was pretty big portions (two servings for me). My family does not have all the allergies I do and said that thier dishes were delicious! With respect to allergies (gluten, dairy, eggs, and nuts) here are my thoughts: - Gluten: Many GF options! If this is your only allergy, you are definetly going to be able to find something that you like!!! * Note: I am NOT a celiac, just very intolerant, so I cannot speak their cross-contamination procedures!

Amanda R.

Yelp
The restaurant was very clean, staff attentive, the food looked amazing I am only dropping it to 4 stars due to the flavor, both our meals were very bland, definitely had to add salt and pepper to the gravy. I would be willing to try it again though! The French cruller was amazing, I actually got two extra ones to go! We went for breakfast so I would be willing to try it again for lunch! The seating is kinda limited, might be a little hard with kids. We had a baby in a carrier and ended up sitting by the front door so we could set it on the counter with us, it was cozy and worked for us!

Pamela P.

Yelp
I wanted to update my review since years after COVID. Tourist home used to be our favorite until they tried to stay relevant with the times and make everything computerized. We stopped going because we missed the community feel and the beautiful pastry case. We decided to give it another try and it was like being transported back in time, only better. There pastries were back on display and we shared a churro crueller. Great brunch and best mimosa flight ever! With a whole bottle of bubbly and 3 different juices it was enough for four. Highly recommend!

Jason A.

Yelp
I'm sorry to say I did not like this restaurant and will never return. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant. We sat on the patio. 30 minutes passed, no food. The servers passed our table over and over and never thought to ask us or tell the kitchen that we had no food. We had to ask at the cashier. They lost our order, so had to reorder. My breakfast sandwich finally came. It was terrible. It was a false description because it was not a croissant. It was awful white bread with the top shaped like a croissant. The bottom was so thin that the cheese had gone through it and it stuck to the plate. The potatoes were terrible, too, and could not eat them. I could not drink the orange juice because it was so bad. Moreover, the flies on the patio were terrible. I left hungry.

Kimberly G.

Yelp
Good option in Flagstaff for brunch. HD the pastrami sandwich which was tasty. The portion of pastrami was small. Light sauerkraut and most importantly, it was not soggy. Fries were hot and crispy. Cobb salad was very good. BLT was great and burger was good. It's a solid choice every time.

Diego R.

Yelp
Best Gf breakfast I've ever had. Hash bowl was unique and truly one of a kind! Not normally a beets person but this may have changed my thoughts.

Codey F.

Yelp
Stopped in for a couple lattes and Crullers! We had the plain and churro crullers. Booth were so delicious, big, full of flavor had to come back a couple days later for another dose. The lattes were good. Had vanilla with almond milk, the other was whole milk with caramel (iced). Very smooth, good taste, not overly sweet. Lots of seating, inside and out. Open, clean and easy to get in and out.. It looks like it can get crowded fast. Parking was ready for us. They had a pay lot next door, but also limited on street free parking. Their automated ordering wasn't working, which I don't really like anyway. So had to order at the counter, which love. I picked up an almond croissant on impulse.

Ashley T.

Yelp
The food was great, great gluten free options (including a donut). The staff was also super nice. We will defiantly be going back

Daniel G.

Yelp
First the good. The outdoor seating area is large and shaded. It is aptly named, because they must be tourists in the kitchen. Don't come for the food. The menu is written in chalk, please just erase what you're out of. The sauce on the huevos rancheros tastes more like it belongs on an Italian dish. At the very least, heat up the can of black beans before plating.

Katie W.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! From The lovely people working here to the fantastic food they serve. You can't go wrong with anything in the menu. This will be a regular stop from now on when we come through Flagstaff!

Rafael H.

Yelp
I had a steak and egg skillet with potatoes, onions, and green bell pepper and it was good ambience, music, and nice outdoor seating arrangement, as it was Flagstaff during the summer!

Erika K.

Yelp
We had breakfast here. My husband got a breakfast burrito and I had the green chili pork and eggs. Both essentially had no flavor. I got a latte that was decent and the churro curler was great. But food was worse than hospital food.
