I stopped by after receiving a gift card, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The coffee was excellent and beautifully presented, and the place itself is elegant with thoughtfully crafted desserts. The atmosphere is cozy and calm, and the service was pretty smooth, allowing you to relax and truly enjoy whatever you order. I’ll definitely be coming back — a little gem tucked away in a busy area of Bethesda. ☕🍰✨

Tout de Sweet Pastry Shop in Bethesda is such a lovely place! It looks like almost like a boutique for pastries and sweet treats. From the moment you walk in it feels like just the place to indulge your sweet tooth because everything looks beautiful! I went on the weekend before Valentine’s Day, so that shop was filled with love-themed, beautifully-decorated goodies! There was a chocolate, heart-shaped piñata that when you break it open was filled with sweet treats. There was also a Valentine’s Day themed tic tac toe sugar cookie with x’s & o’s. It was adorable! Tout de Sweet also has an array of colorful macarons and pastries and of course lattes, etc. I opted for a spinach & goat cheese quiche to go. It was scrumptious. Tout de Sweet is a small nirvana of artisanal pastries and sweet treats, where your eyes and stomach are sure to overrule your brain if you find yourself in a battle of self-control. The cafe is quaint and comfortable and with lovely ambience. Since it’s Bethesda, parking can be a little challenging depending on what day of the week and time of day. Generally, you can find street parking fairly easily nearby and there are public parking garages within walking distance. If you’re in Bethesda and craving a sweet treat, stop by Tout de Sweet Pastry Shop.

What a nice local bakery and pastry shop. The shop is comfy and have a nice relaxing vibe to it. It is a nice place to just sit and study or chat with a friend or loved one. The average price of all the baled items were around $4, while the pastries sit at $7.50, which is nothing out of the ordinary for a local shop. The pastries were just right with a good balance of sweet to it, not too much on the sugar, and perfectly full of flavor. The latte and hot chocolate were good, but I would say the baked items are much more exciting to visit for than the drinks, which I can say compliment it well. The server was good and quick and definitely a place to come if your in the area.

Beautiful custom cake, very delicious! Moist sponge cake with a delicate crumb; chocolate frosting was not too sweet. The staffer taking my order was patient and helpful. Another staffer kindly stayed 25 minutes past closing time when I was delayed picking up the cake.

Absolutely breathtaking! I recently treated myself and family to a custom cake called the Paris Brest Donut, and let me tell you, it's a culinary masterpiece. Despite its deceptively small appearance, it's incredibly fulfilling both in body and soul—I couldn't resist going back for thirds! It’s a great spot for family events and holidays!! The desserts served here are nothing short of heavenly, elevating the experience far beyond what other generic sweet shops in the area offer. If you're in the vicinity, I highly recommend stopping by for a taste sensation like no other!

Sep 2024: moderate selection of some basic pastries. Far from extensive. But nice bright dining room with some patio outdoor seating on nice days. Service was just ok. Matcha was a 7/10, almond croissant 6/10, chocolate pistachio croissant 9/10.

Great french patisseries in this establishment, i especially loved the “pain aux raisins” kind of grape croissant. The quiche lorraine was also amazing. This place us a true gem for the neighborhood.

Nice local bakery with coffee shop vibes. Stopped by about 3 minutes after they opened and there were already 4 other people inside. Got the bread putting, clvanilla latte, chai latte, and a cranberry orange scone. All were great! Coffee came put quickly enough and pastries were on point!

Recently visited and was so happy. I got the London Fog tea and a pistachio mouse tart and a pistachio chocolate croissant. All amazing and so flavorful

Super yummy looking things! The pumpkin macaroon was DELICIOUS. The cotton candy one was underwhelming (but not bad). The prices were ok. The pumpkin pie filling was pretty good. I appreciated it and like the pumpkin taste it was creamy and rich. The crust could've been better, but it wasn't bad. I really like the mango raspberry except for the cake part. The mango and raspberry flavor was spectacular. Very refreshing. Very light. Very airy. The cake was too airy? It just tasted like there was a lot of bubbles and although the cake itself wasn't dry, the bubble texture made it feel dry. Kind staff, and a wide selection of items

Very cute bakery/cafe in Bethesda. I found this bakery while walking around after a nail appointment. It's small with limited seating, but was not very crowded. They also have some outdoor seating. I'm very big on tea and tea lattes/steamers. Of course I had to try the London Fog steamer, it seems to be popular at most cafes and sometimes the only option for a tea latte. I've also had the honey lavender steamer, both are very good. They have other tea lattes like the matcha, chai, and golden milk. Tea could have been hotter, but that's probably just me, I like hot beverages to be scalding hot. I don't drink coffee very often but there's a nice selection of coffee beverages (hot & iced), and they sell cakes & pastries as well. I believe you can order specialty cakes ahead of time, but they also have mini cakes, cake slices, and macarons available in store. Pastries were fresh and I really enjoyed the savory scone and pain aux raisin. I would definitely recommend if you're in the Bethesda Row area, it's about 10 min walk from Elm St. I personally felt that the pastries were better made and fresh in comparison to other cafes close by.

Ordered a specialty cake recently (dark chocolate mousse finished in white) and it was outstanding. Deliciously moist and nicely made. Still a top bakery in the DMV. Wonderful baked goods and pastries. Dependable too.

Probably the best dessert I had in Bethesda aside from Levain. The opera cake (chocolate) was good but I preferred the Raspberry Mango, which was very light and refreshing. Definitely on the pricier side but would recommend stopping by if you're in the area and want a nice treat.

The best bakery! I go here quite frequently - literally nothing is bad on their menu. The pistachio croissant & almond croissant are excellent. They also do custom cakes (which I have ordered before) - great flavor. At my party everyone loved the cake. Also have a few gluten free options. Definitely more of a food cafe rather than a drink cafe in terms of what they're excellent at. Drinks are okay, nothing special. They sometimes have free samples which is a delight. Their macarons are really good as well.

The coffee was hot, nutty, bold and the tiramisu was rich, creamy, moist; the ratio cream to cake was perfect. I wish it was heavier on the espresso or coffee flavor. The service was quick and friendly, the place was small, cozy, bright; and beautifully decorated.

Saturday 11/11/2023 Found this spot on yelp when looking for really good bread pudding. This bakery sells baked goods at a pretty high price but that's fine with me as long as the food is worth it. I got bread pudding $4.05 and the caramelized filled croissant $4.95. The bread pudding while smaller than expected was pretty good and I would get it again. The caramelized filled croissant was surprisingly very good but definitely smaller for a near 5$ price tag. The croissant is filled with a caramel praline type of filling and tastes even better when slightly warmed up. All in all, this bakery is one that I would recommend and return to if in the area.

Amazing location! Super cute! Clean. Pastry's are yummy! Latte's are delicious! I want to go back. Service can be great, just depending on who serves you.

Tout de Sweet Pastry shop opened in February of 2011. They continue to provide creative and delicious pastries. My son requested macarons for his birthday dessert and I knew exactly where to go. Make sure and get there early, because by 11:35, many of the macarons were gone. I still got an assortment of macarons: coconut, double chocolate, raspberry, pistachio, mango, and more. Light, decadent, and delicious, these macarons were worth the drive into Bethesda. Amber, provided excellent service and a warm smile. And, some kind soul was paying my meter, when I pulled into the parking spot. That really gives me hope and the urge to pay it forward. Thank you, kind soul. There are many other scrumptious pastries to chose from. The place was packed and many people were enjoying pastries and hot beverages. It was very clean and attractive in the shop. I highly recommend you stop by and try them for yourself. You will experience some Joi de vivre! ( joy of life )

Went there with my DIL and grandson we had a great time. The line was long but it moved very fast we were able to order the almond croissant and I had a chocolate pistachio croissant. We got a baguette which was $4.50. We got a green tea Matcha & latte. We tried the quiche. They say it's a new place. Delicious desserts you gotta try it

This is a cute bakery with great pastries and coffee. All the pastries I've tried here were yummy. I liked the chocolate pistachio croissant and the macarons. I liked that they had a large variety of baked goods. The interior had a pretty design and the service was good. There is inside seating if you wanted to stay and enjoy your beverage or pastry.

This shop had been on my list for some time. I had never made the time to drop in - I'm so glad I did. They had the best almond croissant I've had ever.... Wow, I will be back soon!

I have never had one bad food item from this spot! Every pastry, cookie, cake, pie I have had has been out of this world. I hope this place never closes!

6.11.22 I stopped by as I saw this bakery had fairly high ratings. The pastries are on the smaller side for the price. I purchased the Trio of Chocolate and Chocolate Crunch Mousse, each around $7.30. The mousse cake was amazing, however, the trio cake's brownie-crust base was dry. Fortunately, having the mousse and chocolate sauce helped to make it moist.

I've been to this place over the years and I can't find a cleaner more organized food spot than this one. As for the service, seriously? You're going to trash a business on some random teens talking like they do nowadays? Do you think they represent the entire company?? STOP writing 1 star reviews everywhere you go and get a life.

This place is adorable and offers some delicious French treats. Everything was so pretty. I ordered a vanilla latte and a banana bread cup. Both were great. They offer alternative milks like oat milk. The latte was smooth with a nice flavor. The banana bread cup was scrumptious and the perfect small bite to pair with my coffee. But I wish I could have tired even more. The macarons and pastries were beautiful.

The shop is pleasant enough, and the pastries and other baked goods are tasty. But the espresso is so bitter as to be almost non-potable. The shop should change to a better blend, such as Illy.

I am so happy to have discovered this wonderful cafe. Entering its doors is like walking into a genuine Italian or French coffee shop, complete with fresh and mouth-watering pastries, sandwiches, and superb coffee. They use lovely ceramic plates and mugs, and serve their water in glassware. What a nice change from the usual plastic waste. Best of all, and unlike almost every other place around, this cafe is QUIET enough to have a civilized conversation. No blaring music or tile walls where the sound bounces painfully around. I love it! I only wish they stayed open later, as right now they close at 4:00.

This dessert shop is super cute, very small and quiet. The customer service wasn't welcoming at all, the person at the register pretty much had the same attitude with everyone who walked in. No greeting, barely answered questions, etc. But if you can over look that, you should definitely stop by and get some treats. Their macaroons were the BEST I've had. I really enjoyed the orange, red velvet, vanilla and raspberry which is pretty much all the flavors I ordered lol. All of the flavors were bold but not too rich. The raspberry was the most unique. It had sprinkles on vanilla cookie (I guess) on the outside and raspberry filling on the inside. The filling doesn't have a super creamy base so the texture is a little different. I thought I already tasted the best before but this spot out did themselves with the macaroons! Love their packaging and I also like the aesthetics of their dessert case. I gave 3 stars simply because the customer service was poor. However the macaroons were so good that I would go back to try their other desserts. Plus we all have our days and I'm sure the experience is different with other staff members so I will definitely give this place another shot.

Their small cakes are really good and I think this is where they shine. Their opera cake and peppermint cake are divine. Unfortunately, the macarons were very disappointing. They were either too crunchy without any chewy texture or they were very dense. I attached a picture of a really dense macaron which was the earl grey favor. They recommended the almond macaron but it did not have the soft, chewy texture of a macaron and the almond flavor was barely there. The pistachio was disappointing too because there was also no pistachio flavor. Most disappointing was the rose water one which tasted like red food coloring. It was bright pink when I bit into it. 4 macarons were $10. I was sad to pay that for 4 macarons that were not good at all.

Ok I thought I had reviewed my favorite macaron place in all of DMV but I realize after going through my reviews that I have not! How sacrilegious and rectifying this situation right meow! Anyway like I said, I tell everyone and their mom to come here bc they make the best macarons in town and I should know. I've test tasted plenty! And even their pastries are out of this world! So of course whenever I come to the area, I always make a point to stop by especially when I have to wait for my car to be serviced. I mean it's a great excuse but not like I needed any! Today on a Thursday was no exception when I needed to wait two hours for my car to be serviced so I walked over thinking of all the pastries and salivating. I was at their door around 8:20 and looked at the new hours saying they'll be opening at 8:30 so I said sweet and waited. 8:30 rolled around and still closed so then I thought ok maybe the old hours still exist and they forgot to take the sign down. So I grabbed a meeting around 9am and was finished around 9:45am to walk back thinking they HAVE to be opened by now. Still closed. So confused, I headed to YELP page to see maybe something happened. No message of closing. Ok then I called them and sure enough, they left a message that they're on holiday vaca from 7/28 - 8/9. Everyone deserves a vaca and I totally understand that! But maybe leave a sign at the door too? As I was writing this review by the door, at least two other patrons stopped by and I let them know but one of them was worried that something bad had happened to the owners or someone they know bc duh covid. Anyway, be rest assured that they'll be back after Aug 9th feeling so refreshed and their pastries will better than ever. Not that there was anything wrong! They have pretty great lattes with nondairy options as well and the brunch food was tasty too! And I'm not sure if the summer menu has changed but usually they'll also serve macaron ice cream during hot weather. Seriously bomb.

Tout de Sweet makes the most unique chocolate chip cookie. My coworkers are chefs and they gobbled up the sweets so fast. That speaks volumes to me. Such a cute, clean little pastry shop. I literally changed jobs to work a stone's throw away from this place:) I love you guys and will be back soon!

I stopped by here recently hoping to pick up something for a birthday. Checked the hours beforehand and drove over. They were closed because of cold weather. What? Lame.

So I know I literally reviewed this place like 2 weeks ago, but I have to write another because this place is just THAT good. Since they are still following the COVID-19 guidelines, you MUST order online ahead of time. I saw a few people try to walk in and order today, but they had to walk back out and order online. The reason I'm updating my review is because I see so much talk about their macarons (which I'm sure are delicious), but I would like to take a moment to appreciate their pastry dough!! I ordered the danish today and I tell you, that is the best danish I have ever had. It was fresh out of the oven and still warm and the pastry dough was buttery, crispy, and light as could be. In fact, I've been a big fan of Sunday Morning Bakehouse for a few months, but after trying this place, I have a new go-to patisserie. We also ordered the trio of chocolate which was very good. Again, they have an assortment of macarons, pastries, cakes, quiches, and other sweet treats. My only qualm is that some of the fillings on the items such as the danish and the pistachio chocolate croissant can be on the sweet side, but hey, sugar = energy and we can all use a little more energy right?? Either way, I cannot wait to return again in the next few weeks to try some more items!

The chocolate crunch is dangerously delicious. It has a super refreshing layer that balance out the sweetness, not to mention the crunchy layer. It just has so many layer of texture. It goes so well with my americano.

Ambiance is very nice and the sweets delicious. BUT the coffee was almost undrinkable on account of how bitter it was. And for the price, I would not go there for coffee. Shame, since the staff are lovely and clearly so much attention has been put towards the food product.

This is a cute little bakery/pastry shop in the Woodmont Triangle area of Bethesda. There are some seating options inside, so it's a good choice for either a solo stop or with a few friends or a date. It's a French shop, so you'll find some staple pastries like macarons, croissants and meringues, but you'll also find lots of cakes, muffin's, and bread puddings. I tried the lemon pound cake, which was so soft, moist, and not super lemony which I appreciated. There are also beverage options, both hot and cold. Stop by if you're in the area, you won't regret it.

I held a family gathering for Ethiopian Fasika (Easter). Absolutely delightful deserts are crafted under this store's roof. The desert was so good, my guests were asking where I got it from - and the desert was finished in under 5 minutes ! It's a nice spot for family gatherings, holidays, and even events. I will definitely be ordering from this pastry again.

Best almond croissant in the DMV. No, really. This is going to sound weird... for a birthday party a few years ago, we organized a blind taste test of a bunch of different restaurants/ foods. (We had personalized ranking cards for samples of pizzas, ice creams, colas, chicken sandwiches, etc.) We did almond croissants from Tout, Paul, and one other place I can't even remember now... Tout was one of the few food categories that won unanimously. Highly recommend this place! Croissants aside, this was a fun party idea!

Ordered in person and as I went to pay for the item another Tout employee said someone already ordered that item and it's taken. Then why have it on display. Or offer me another item. She smirked at him and said sorry...rude

I am in the unusual position of writing a review for something I did not eat, as I stopped in with someone else on my mind. Then again, I suspect many people will be stopping in here for gifts as well. The mini-chocolate mousse cakes sure did look delicious, and their recipient dug in quickly. The shop is in the walkable part of downtown Bethesda (currently surrounded by construction, along with what seems like half the city). The employees dilly-dallied a bit, but I used the time to look longingly at their extensive selection. That being said, I was a bit disappointed that you could not-it seemed-by chocolate mousse by itself rather than in cake form. Notably there is a chocolate shop a block down the street, but the sorts of things they offer (more hard chocolates) are different from this bakery (macarons and mousse cakes). Both are respectably decadent.

Tour de Sweet was really good however it was pricey. The atmosphere itself was nice as well. They have different flavored cakes, macaroons, ice cream, beverages, and many other desserts to name a few. We had the ice cream and cake. I really liked the ice cream, but the cake was way too sweet in my opinion. Would eat here again when my bank allows me or when they lower prices/have deals. Pro: -Nice music, environment, and workers -Good ice cream (had real fruit chunks in it) Cons: -Pricey -Cake was way too sweet Tips: -Maybe split a cake if you just came from lunch or dinner. They look small but it'll definitely hit the spot if your coming here for dessert after eating a meal. Maybe touch it up with a macaroon for a $1.50 if you want. Better yet try the cake and ice cream. Mix and match like us.

I came to Tout de Sweet Pastry Shop on a Saturday afternoon with a friend. It is super cute inside, decorated with pastels and succulents with a few seats available inside. Pastries and macaroons are displayed in glass for purchase. I ordered the Rose Matcha Iced Latte, which comes with a Matcha shot and Rose Milk Latte. I substituted whole milk for Oat milk. You also have the option of Almond or Soy. The presentation of the drink is beautiful, the Matcha and Rose Milk are separated and after you take your 5000 social media pictures, then you can mix and drink ;) I cannot believe this is a Seasonal menu item, I will be back here very soon to take advantage of this item being available... because it is DELICIOUS! It is super refreshing on a hot Summer day and the smell of roses lingers with every sip. The staff were friendly and our drinks were made quickly, this is the perfect dessert spot! I highly recommend and can't wait to return to try other menu items :)

Amazing bakery! Absolutely the best French pastries outside of France. The croissants are incredibly flaky and the macarons are much better than the Ladurée macarons on Bethesda Avenue. Highly, highly recommend!

Tout de Sweet Pastry Shop is as aesthetically pleasing as a bakery gets. When walking in your senses are assaulted by the beautiful pastels, the sweet bakery smell, and the plethora of bakery treats. Everything looks so good its honestly almost impossible to choose. They have an enormous selection of macarons, cakes, mousses, quiche, and baked breads such as croissants. Not only do these desserts look amazing but they also taste amazing. Every bite is just pure heaven in your mouth. Con: I only have a few minor cons about this restaurant. First, trying to find parking at this store can be a little hard. There is street parking with meters but a lot of the time all of those spaces are completely full. Additionally, tout de sweet had a previous rewards program that they recently changed without allowing old members to redeem or keep the rewards that they had earned. Lastly, the line is always a hot mess. it goes in all directions and it is never clear who was there first etc. they should come up with a more organized way of controlling the people ordering.

Found this while my friends and I were in the area. And I'm so glad we found it! Got the Iced Rosewater Matcha drink and it was very airy and light! Loved the matcha flavor and rosie fragrance. They had a large variety of macarons with interesting flavors. Cassis is described to be a blackberry flavor. While the Grand Marnier was a dark chocolatey with a hint of orange zest. My friend got the Vietnamese coffee. It was a light roast and bitter. Compared to traditional Vietnamese coffee from cafes, this was watered down... Otherwise, the macaron and rosewater matcha were a hit with my friends and I!

This review is for Tout de Sweet (TdS)' made-to-order cakes - and its chef Jerome. TdS unfortunately made the worst birthday cake for our 14-year old daughter, and regrettably combined this with the worst customer service as well. On March 15, we reached out to TdS via email, requesting a 10" strawberries and cream cake for our daughter's 14th birthday, with pick up on March 22 (7 days later). We pro-actively followed up via email on March 16 and talked to an associate. On March 19, Jerome (the owner and chef) called us to discuss the options, and I sent my payment information over the email. We picked up the cake on March 22, the day of our daughter's birthday. The cake looked beautiful, no doubt. However, it was so extremely sweet, that it was completely inedible. We left the buttercream out, and just tried the filling, but that too tasted like it was infused with unadulterated sugar syrup. Even our kids took two bites and left their cake. We immediately sent an email to TdS, but did not get a response. The next day, March 23, we took the cake (with 2 slices cut out) back to TdS and talked to Jerome. Jerome wanted to taste the cake, and then explained that it was perfectly ok, and that this is the recipe he always uses. We pointed out that we had ordered this specific cake a couple of times before, and it never tasted this overly sweet. Jerome came up with various excuses: "this is the recipe," "maybe you should not eat the frosting," "I put a lot of work in this," and "I made this very last minute for you" (this surprised us even more, as we had reached out with our detailed request 7 days earlier, and had to follow up three times ourselves). Finally, he - with increasing rudeness - asked "so, what do you want me to do?" We explained we did not want our money back, but only wanted a cake that we could enjoy. As the birthday was already over, we suggested he could leave out the decorations and just provide a simple, but edible cake (note: the basic cake is 85 USD - Jerome had charged us an additional 50 USD for the decorations, excl. tax - which we were perfectly ok with to let go, as long as he would make a simple, edible cake). Jerome first pushed back ("I cannot change the recipes" - which is odd, because plenty of chefs make sugar free or low sugar pastries and cakes; mind you, even those calorie bombs of The Cheesecake Factory are way less sweet!), but then hesitatingly agreed and went to the back of the store. When he came back, he pointed out that his order book was filled, and he would not be able to make the cake anywhere soon. We noted that as the birthday was gone in any case, 1 week, 2 weeks, or even a month would not make a difference for us. This seemed to put him off (and make him even more irritated), and he retreated to the back of the store again. He then came back for a third and final encore, and simply blurted out: "I will give you 50% of your money back and no cake. Ok, bye bye." And he walked off (yes, he just walked away). We were flabbergasted, as we had pointed out that we did not want our money back, and he had agreed to make a cake (135 USD excl. tax for a normal cake, no decorations, no frills, just a plain cake). On top of this, he did not apologize even once, at any point, for the cake (let alone for a ruined birthday), and his overall manner was extremely rude, stand-offish, and clearly looking down upon as, as we had dared to bring back his cake and complain about it. We left the cake on the countertop of the store with TdS' staff, as it was completely inedible. Enjoy Georgetown Cupcakes or Paul on nearby Bethesda Row, and if you want to have a nice (not even spectacular) cake for a special occasion (as opposed to being looked down upon by a chef that cannot manage his order book, his recipes, or his general demeanor), you are better off trying somewhere else. PS Please note that the two staff members in the store were kind and helpful, and immediately apologized for the issue with the cake.

Pastries are unparalleled. Try the plain and almond croissant. Cakes, I have found, aren't the best. Service folks have a bit of a poor attitude.

I stopped in the other day to try out a few menu items. You are encouraged to order online ahead of time, there is a sign detailing the process on the front door. Currently they are pick up only, and have most of the store blocked off so only a pickup section is available to the right. I picked up some macarons, a red velvet latte, and a quiche Lorraine. The quiche was tasty, fluffy, and fresh. The red velvet latte was a bit sweet but also tasty. The macarons were some of the best I have tried in the area. I will be back to try more of their menu and macaron flavors. I only wish there was a way to request flavors when ordering online.

We stopped by today for pastries (cheesecake, macarons, chocolate chip cookies) and drinks (matcha and a mocha). Very cute store - it was quiet, peaceful and cozy. It is an ideal place to catch up with friends or when you want to escape the bustle. The pastries we had tasted fresh and carefully crafted. The drinks likewise. I have a major sweet tooth so, believe me when I say this place is worth a visit. We will be back!

Ruined Birthday! That's all I can say....... I have never written a review for any service or a shop because I like to give the benefit of the doubt if anything goes wrong! However, I have been struggling with the service of Tout de Sweet for 7 years now. Not only slow and disorganized, but very unfriendly and the opposite of "sweet". Yet, I kept coming and ordering the same birthday cake for years now because it very good. And every year there is something...... but this year its the Cherry of the cake! No cake...... my order went to their spam and bam...... magic.....no cake! I have waited for 2 years to pass the worse of the pandemic so I can have some friends over and share a piece of my favorite cake! So now, a day before my birthday (that coincides with Valentine's day) I can't find anything decent to buy.... Their pastries are delicious but can you pay the price???

It's nice! Especially it's pastries. The nutty and fruity pastries are my favorite. While the macarons are tasty - they are rather pricey. It's also lovely to have the opportunity to have great tasting chai latte's (hot or iced) that tast fresh and made fresh:) I agree that the customer service can sometimes be very hit or miss.
