"Part restaurant and part grocery store, Toutwèl offers a glimpse of Haiti, where you can find staples like djon djon, epis, and chokola, essential ingredients in Haitian kitchens. At the Mattapan gem, you’ll discover mayi moulen, a cornmeal porridge breakfast staple. You can’t leave without diving into their fritay; it’s one of the best you can find in Boston. That platter packs together fried breadfruit, accra (a malanga fritter), griot (pork marinated in sour orange juice), marinade (an herb-infused fried dough) and it is finished with a dousing of spicy pikliz. Pair it with an order of ji manyòk, a cold creamy smoothie made of blended yucca, star anise, cinnamon, Haitian vanilla, almond extract, and evaporated milk." - Ashia Aubourg

If your butt hurts please go talk about that in the privacy of your bathroom other than that when it comes to the restaurant TOUTWEL I have to say it’s by far one of the best Haitian restaurant in town. The place is clean the food is flavorful and all the workers are nice and courteous. I’m gladly giving this restaurant a 5 start and I hope to see more toutwel restaurants around. PLEASE KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !!!

The venue is clean and spacious I thought. They have signs in place in compliance with the social distancing guidelines and a excellent customer service. In terms of taste, this is not the best Haitian restaurant, but they're sure to be one of the best value for your money. The plate was heavy and can surely feed to people. In terms of wait time i think it's best to call ahead for your order as you would for many Haitian restaurants. It's not fast food, even Fritay takes time to prepare. I thought they had my food in a timely manner regardless.

First time there, I had a take out fritay and it was wayy over priced. I ordered a goat fritay which had two fry plaintain, two small Akra, two marinade, and two patate. They mixed the goat meat with beef meat. I was charged $36+ 4.90 tax. The price of this fritay is wayy overpriced and it’s not worth it. I’ve been to better places to eat such at Brazillian restaurants, Thai restaurants, Italian, Indian, Greek ect and I’ve never been charged this kind of price for this tiny plate. Sorry it’s not worth the price especially the location and the surrounding. If this place was in a high end like Fenway, newton, chestnut Hill it probably would have been okay but can’t over charge customers for this tiny thing.

I’m a regular at Toutwel and love their food, as well as the fast and wonderful service. However, this morning my experience was disappointing. My order, which was just under $10, led to a disrespectful encounter with one of the workers, who even threatened to throw me out of the restaurant. To avoid further issues, I decided to go to another staff member, a kind Haitian gentleman who usually takes orders, and asked if he could add a bottle of water. The rude worker then went over and threatened this gentleman, telling him to clock out and risk losing his job. Such unprofessional and rude behavior is completely unacceptable. Ayibobo!

Hello Thanks

Google
I order fritay taso goat 3 times a month and always get 3 akra 3 marinade 3 patat 3 banana and my total is $34.07 with tax for several months. I pay cash because as a fellow small business owner I know about Apple pay, Visa, American Express $1.59 + $0.79 transaction FEES which is why they have signs regarding $10.00 minimum I assume. If you like a small business pay cash to help keep the cost low. .... I was upset when I read post that are fake or out of spite on here because the staff will accommodate you if you ask I am sure because of the positive vibe. If you are unhappy be a HUMAN and talk to the staff instead of hating on a keyboard and hiding. I was to frustrated reading some bad reviews I think are made by haters not common sense people. I had to speak up. Thanks for reading

Today is my first time ordering from this restaurant. I had griyo and plantains. It was delicious. They gave me more food than I expected. I ordered a large plate, and was full half way through it. One thing I would say the dining area could use a little updating. Besides that, the customer service, food, speediness, they are on point

Somebody definitely needs to teach those people how to make Haitian bouyon and chicken stew, their bouyon is trash, their rice and beans are tasteless, their meats are salty. How could you make bouillon without Watercress and herbs

Yelp
While the restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, it quickly went downhill from there. Seems very disorganized as to where you are supposed to stand and receive your order. I am very familiar with authentic manje Haitian and this is not it. We had incredibly dry griot and used poor cuts, pate kode both poul and ze that were under seasoned and cheap ingredients. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Worst service ever I have ordered since 11 o'clock and I arrive at the place at 12 o'clock almost 1 o'clock and they tell me that they don't have my order and can't differentiate the orders.

Yelp
Food was amazing! They are very friendly and accommodating. We ordered several take out dishes and it was plentiful. I would definitely recommend this place. Best restaurant in the area!

Yelp
I do, love Haitian Patty and I was very disappointed for $50 worth of Patty when I called the restaurant all she told me I didn't make the party she didn't call a manager she didn't give me an answer nothing that was really rude and she wasn't professional at all please just serve the right food

Anaika J.

Yelp
Went to get some Patties, I was not even acknowledged. They took customers that came in after me and when I asked they said "he's a regular" . So I guess If you're not a regular customer you get cut and have to wait.

Robert H.

Yelp
Food is great. Out of the other Haitian restaurants their customer service is the best.
