Few tips: Book tickets online to skip queues Allow about 1-2 hours for the visit Try to see it both day and night Don't miss the engine rooms Whether you're a history buff, architecture fan, or just want that perfect London photo, Tower Bridge is a must-visit. It's touristy, sure, but for good reason. Every time I see it, I'm reminded why I love this city.

I was lucky enough to see the bridge lift, which was an added bonus. A must-visit for any London visitor!

Visited on a Wednesday in September. No waiting in line. Took the lift to the top. Fabulous views from the walkways, with openings in the glazing so you can capture photos without having to photograph through the glass. Give yourself an hour to an hour and a half to see everything. The engine rooms are interesting too, and a well stocked gift shop awaits at the end.

Tower Bridge is a must-see in London! The architecture is stunning, and the views from the glass floor walkways and through the viewing windows are incredible. The exhibition inside is very informative, showcasing the bridge's history and mechanics. Walking along the Thames with the bridge in view is also a great experience. Ticket prices were very reasonable and were available to purchase on arrival no need to book in advance unlike many other London attractions. During our visit the lifts were seemingly out of order, which wasn’t an issue for us but just be aware if you have any mobility issues that there are a lot of stairs to climb to the top. Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for iconic London sights, Tower Bridge is definitely worth the visit!

Easily my favourite place during a 1 week trip across the UK and Scotland. It is lovely at day, gorgeous lights at night and such a beautiful view and Interesting museum inside! Definitely must see the inside.

When you think of London this is one of the iconic landmarks that come to mind. Such beauty with its two towers and walkways. This bridge crosses over the Thames river. Super easy to cross, about 940 feet long. I went over it and back... even getting the chance to watch them raise up the bridge to allow tall boats to pass through. So cool! Absolutely stunning bridge a must stop when visiting London. Found a great hidden bar beneath called the vault, check it out!

Beautiful bridge in London. This should be called the London Bridge but it's not....lol I'm sure there's some history as to why Tower Bridge is much nicer than the London Bridge but I didn't bother looking it up. This is your go-to bridge while in London.

Tower Bridge is a must see attraction when visiting London... The bridge itself is beautiful and has some amazing views... While visiting I paid a 13 pound fee to go into the bridge and learn some history about it... The entrance fee was reasonable, I definitely recommend going inside the bridge.. They have glass bottoms on part of the bridge and you can see the water and traffic below.. It's definitely a great place to take some cool pictures... They have a lot of areas to sit and watch the short films about the history and making of the bridge, the admission also includes the engine room which is at the opposite end of the bridge.. Overall it is a great experience for everyone in the family to enjoy..

Most people envision Tower Bridge when they think of London Bridge and I was one of these people. It turns out that London Bridge is a very simple bridge that basically has a plaque and that's about it. Tower Bridge on the other hand is a worthy spot to check out. It's a nice brisk walk across, short drive across or a site to see riding on a boat below on the river. You can even go up to see the cars and people passing by from an area with a clear floor. There is a small entrance fee to go up the bridge. The line can get long so be prepared for the wind, rain and how chilly it can get. We walked it to get to Tower of London and it was an enjoyable walk. You come across lots of tourists and locals on the bridge. There are sites of Tower of London, downtown London and the river. Must check out if you're visiting London for the first time.

Definitely a must see at least once just because it's iconic! Boyfriend and I walked around and was sightseeing the city. Fun experience with the little shops and restaurants.

One of the most featured bridges in any shows or movies filmed in London, it's a must see for anyone visiting London. As it's popular, it can get a bit crowded in certain spots. Crossing the bridge is free but there is a paid portion in the center where there is a clear lucite floor so you can view passersby below.

Visually I think it's the best looking bridge in the city, another one of the sites that should be on your list to see if you're visiting London for the first time. The bridge is free to cross, when we were coming over from the Tower of London we noticed a sign for tickets, turns out those are tickets to go up to the top of the tower on the bridge. Speaking of the Tower of London, the bridge is pretty much a 5-10 minute walk away so you can easily check off two awesome sights within the same timeframe.

Tower Bridge was really good, we got on to the bridge and of course it was very crowded. You need to buy tickets if you want to go inside of the towers.

Pedestrians can now cross the bridge but previously there were thefts & prostitution here. Bridge tours are offered, the lines were very very long

This is not the London Bridge. The London Bridge is actually just a grey blah structure. Unlike the Tower Bridge, which is beautiful! If you're going to the Tower of London, you'll get excellent views of the Tower Bridge. You can pay to take an inside tour but just walk around it and you can get some gorgeous views!

A beautiful bridge visible from Tower of London, which is also viewable from the Tower Bridge. The crossing is wide and on both sides. It gets very busy. There are vendors on either side & amazing views all around.

One of the prettier bridges in London. Great site to check out as its nearby to big ben, the london eye, and the tower of london. If you are into landmarks, and architecture I would recommend checking it out and walking across.

What can I say, a must come when visiting London. Not sure if I expect anything different... Quality/Quantity - Tower Bridge. Cool glass floors, I spent too much time taking pictures. Some of which had me laying on the glass floor; your welcome, I think I wiped all your glass and cleaned it with my shirt... Lots of history, and places to visit here and around here. If you are into reading and learning, you can easily spend a day here. We also took the hop on hop off boat ride, and took pictures under the bridge on the river. Atmosphere - Huge tourist attraction, but the overall process was/is smooth. Most walking traffic is one way, so as long as everyone keeps moving, it is good. At the end of the self walking tour, there is the engine room. Many people forget to visit this part as you have to walk around the tower to enter through the gift shop. Service - Self service, so good. Price - 12.50 pounds per person, see picture for other price options. Big fun. Most thinks this is the London bridge which it is not. I like to bridge at night. There is also a tour on how it works. Go and enjoy it's a must when in London.

They have a great view of the Tower Bridge but rooms are dated, carpet worn out, bathrooms archaic, it has an d musty smell, and on the hottest summer London has ever experienced, no AC in our room. They offered to bring a fan in and told us they were sold out and no other room was available. We decided to cancel our reservation and go home to Surrey. But magically, another room appeared and they switched us to the other room. This was a downgrade from what we had originally. When we questioned it, they said it's the same room and "you still have the view of the bridge!". So I guess they charge for the view not the comfort of their guests. This is not a cheap room. Front desk staff not very helpful or friendly. Location is great and easy access to Hop On Hop Off, train, shopping, food, etc.

Quick and easy climb. The climb up took me about 10 minutes. (Yes, I basically sprinted up 206 steps) The view from the top is beautiful, but probably not worth paying extra for if you're just interested in the view as the view from the top of the Tower of London and the Bridge where you enter isn't a huge difference, especially during the day time. The tickets do come with a ticket to the engine room to see how the Tower of London bridge runs though. So if that's something you're interested in, might as well walk up the 206 steps as it's a 2 in one experience. There's also a spot with glass floors so you can take pictures above the water. Super beautiful! (I definitely did not post to pictures incorrectly on Tower of London, - I did) But all in all, a great experience. Make sure to check the open availabilities, especially if you have a Paris pass. Paris pass is only valid during certain times and days.

An iconic landmark that's free to walk on. You can also take one of the double decker buses to go across the bridge. It's definitely a really cool experience. It's clean. It's gorgeous and it's a famous landmark. You can also buy tickets to go up the tower and get great views and learn more about its history.

Tower Bridge is probably one the prettiest bridges in the world. The it's a working bridge so you'll find cars on it and pedestrians can cross on both sides. The access to enter the tower and visit the top is on the west side walkway. If you mess up and go on the east side you'll have to go all the way back to the start of the bridge to cross over. Book your ticket to the to in advance because it is a popular attraction.

Oh the iconic Tower Bridge. Built at the end of the 1800s, it's often mistaken for London Bridge which is actually across the way and much more anticlimactic to say the least. Tower Bridge is simply stunning and is London's most striking bridge thanks to it's Neo-Gothic architecture and ability to lift it's central sections to allow ships to pass. I would recommend this historic landmark be admired from afar and up close. On our first trip to London, we saw the bridge at night, lit up in all it's beautiful glory. On our second trip, we walked across the bridge over the River Thames and got a closer look at the towers and all the details. Highly recommend doing both if you're able. If you'd like a more indepth tour to learn about the history and go inside the towers, tours are available. I had no desire to go inside and was perfectly happy enjoying the views from the outside.

Had pre-booked tickets prior to trip for the iconic Tower Bridge online at £11.40 each person, surprisingly probably the cheapest tickets I've bought this entire trip? Tickets had included lifts to/from the top, but unfortunately on the day of my visit (mid Nov 2022), the lifts were broken, supposed had people stuck inside too SO we had to manually trek up the tower one step at a time (206 steps). Not too bad. Apparently there are two walkways up top which views tie east and west aspects of the Thames River. There are little windows you can slide open that you can stick your camera out for an unobstructed view but BE CAREFUL, if you drop it, bye bye ! In the middle of each walkway, there is a glass portion where you can see straight down to the walking people and cars below (uh not for the lighthearted, meanwhile you have people jumping and laying down on these said glass portions for pictures/videos). There is also restrooms up top too, which is nice (lucky, i needed to go too) Included in the ticket is also the engine room, which requires you to exit the other tower, following a colored pathway down under to where the gift shop is. You would need to present your ticket again as there's a perforated part they rip off. Quite the interesting sight to see (thought not functioning anymore) but I can't imagine how loud it would be down there if it were still running (for some reason, I imagined the movie Titanic and the part where the engine was spooling up and churning away)

Tour is great! Worth the price! Also, they have elevators for handicap. Would recommend to anybody visiting!

Walked the bridge, great views, tons of history. we started on the tower of london side.

It's a good time filler unless you are majorly into engineering. Go early so there are no lines. The views are good but it's just a trip to the top of the bridge and seeing the engine rooms which I said was cool if you are into engineering. There are many other cool things to see in London.

Honestly a tourist activity that could be skipped if visiting London. The entire loop of walking through the tower in the middle of the bridge and the engine room hardly took us thirty minutes total. The bridge itself is open to the public and is worth walking across for views of skyscraper buildings. Our tickets were reserved for 3:50 PM on Sunday, allowing us to skip the long line of people that did not pre-book tickets. Tickets for £11.40 each permits entry into the tower. A lift is accessible for those that need it, otherwise a long flight of stairs is climbed to reach the top where you can walk across a strip of glass floor along the Walkway. It was full of people gazing outside the glass window or sitting on the glass floor and blocking the path. The Engine Room is a separate area on a lower floor that primarily explains how the bridge operates. A diagram illustrates the mechanics accompanied by a couple of displays, of which one was not working. The end also has a history section before leading into the gift shop. Wi-Fi was not working during our visit.

Oddly enough after quite a few visits to London I recently finally explored the Tower Bridge as I had a relative with me who wanted to see it. Not sure why I waited all these years, but it was worth it for history nerds or maybe for those crossing off checkboxes on a visit. Easy access from the tube and lines are hit or miss since it moves pretty quick. I'd suggest bundling this with the city pass if you plan on visiting other tourist sites as it is included at a discount price point. Buying a ticket alone is not too terrible compared to other attractions in the city though. It's quite interesting to check out the pristine engine room or explore the uppers levels for the rare days it's sunny in London. I'd suggest at least spending an hour to possibly two hours here as it's not a massive complex. Also, one important note, this is not the London Bridge, I know many get it confused!

The Tower Bridge is iconic in London and far superior to the London Bridge which is pretty anticlimactic and just looks like a normal bridge. The Tower Bridge is beautiful and provides great views of the Thames River and of the city landscape on either side. The bridge is open to both cars and pedestrians and well worth the walk across (maybe a half mile). Not to be missed when visiting London!

Doesn't look like it's falling down to me, but then again, it's not the London Bridge, is it? Tower Bridge is the one you're thinking about, the picture you see in your mind, when invoking memories from past visits, or conjuring pictures you've seen in movies or TV shows. I know, I get them confused all the time. I almost wrote this review for the wrong one. Sadly, the actual London Bridge is far less exciting. It's one thing to view Tower Bridge from afar, another thing to walk across it, but a far more fascinating experience to descend into its bowels and see how it all works. I highly recommend the tour through the bridge's interior, which includes a stroll across a transparent catwalk near the top (not for acrophobes, or the faint of heart!), as well as plunging into its depths to stand in awe and wonder amidst the massive mechanisms that bring this bascule/suspension bridge to life. Time it right, and you might be present when the whole thing spurs to life! Truly fascinating.

This bridge is the iconic of London. It is not quite that big or long but it is beautiful. You can pay to go up there to see the inside of the bridge. I decide not to since I just want to explore the outside area. The day I went luckily it wasn't rainy but cloudy. It is cold so make sure you had a coat. There is a walking area and car driving area so you can enjoy both views. It is located next to a castle too. Overall, being here I don't think I will come back to London since there are other country near by to explore.

It is hard not to be "drawn" to this London icon (often misidentified as London Bridge). I did not do the official tour, but instead hung out in the surrounding area watching the bridge raise/lower for passing tall ships and basking in its towering glory. Makes for excellent pictures and is a must see! Even better, as the name implies, the Tower of London is steps away so you can hit 2 attractions in one area.

My boyfriend and I paid 11 pounds to go up to the tower bridge. We had a time slot for 2:30 and quickly went through the line to take the lift up the tower. Once at the top, we had an incredible view of one side of the city. We walked in a loop at the top to see the other side of the river. The tour also took you down stairs to see the old ways the mechanics of the bridge worked. It was a wonderful historical experience filled with facts. There were a lot of stairs involved which was a bit tough. Overall a fun-filled experience at one of London's main attractions.

I miss traveling so much. Especially internationally. Been thinking about the last time that I was near this beautiful bridge. The Tower Bridge, not to be confused with the London Bridge. It's truly grand and truly stunning. One of those landmarks that you mustn't miss when visiting London. Just as it's known for its' sights, the Tower Bridge is also known for its' heavy traffic. It's bustling from day til' night with both vehicles and pedestrians. The bridge crosses over the beautiful River Thames and is frequented by both tourists and locals alike. Ironically, you'll get the best views of the bridge while you're crossing over another bridge to view it (from The London Bridge). If you have the luxury of actually walking across this beauty, you should definitely do so. But if not, the views alone will still be satisfying enough. Until we meet again.

4/3/23- we did a tour to bypass the line. Took the elevator and walked on the top. Nice views. It's actually modern inside with steel but looks old. It's about 130 years old.

Outside of The Clash's "London Calling," Morrissey's "Hairdresser on Fire" is a song from the good old punk rock and new wave eras that easily reminds me of London. London has several landmarks but none more famous than the Tower Bridge. Built near the close of the 19th century, this is both a suspension bridge and a drawbridge. Spanning the River Thames, it is supported by two massive towers and the deck is accessible to both vehicles and pedestrians. Since it is the most recognizable bridge in London, it is oftentimes mistaken as the London Bridge which is actually located on its west side. We took advantage of the Tower Bridge + The Monument ticket so we got to see the inside of two London landmarks (pre-COVID-19). The tour of the Tower Bridge included the North and South Towers, the Engine Rooms, and the high-level Walkway highlighted by its Glass Floor. Aside from the amazing 100-foot top view, the panoramic sceneries through the glass walls were picture-worthy as well. Whether we were on the north or south banks of the River Thames, the view was nothing short of spectacular. The Tower Bridge is a historic piece of architecture, but it's fascinating to imagine that it's something we've seen in fairy tale books come to reality. The Big Ben was under repair during our vacation so that was a total bummer. There were no scaffolds on the Tower Bridge which made us glad we stayed in the Bermondsey area because the bridge was easily reachable...

I've always loved the Tower Bridge and I honestly don't even know why. It is an iconic piece of the London skyline and any to trip to London would not be complete without visiting and marveling at the bridge at least once! I intentionally booked a hotel in this area because I enjoyed getting to see it every day of our stay in London. You can actually pre-purchase passes to walk along the top encased portion of the bridge that has a glass floor so you can look down with some breathtaking views. If you book online in advance it is less than 10 GBP. Unfortunately, we did not have time for this during this trip but maybe next time! We did walk the length of the bridge and enjoyed some fantastic views of the Thames River and other pieces of the London skyline, such as the Shard. You can also look online to find the set times when they raise the drawbridge to let larger vessels pass on by. Yet another thing we were not able to see, but I will definitely see that on my next visit to this incredible city! TL; DNR: Really cool bridge that I like a lot and I'm betting that you will too! ;) 5 stars.

11.11.19 A walk to the Tower Bridge after 3 meals within 2 hours. Hahaha It was a very nice walk except it was a very windy cold day. I wrapped myself up like a Chinese dumpling 粽子. This is one of the prettiest bridge I've walked on and it's always nice to take a walk on it. It looks prettier during the night with the lights on but it still looked nice on a cloudy cold day.

Funny enough, this bridge is more popular than the London Bridge which is located across from the Tower Bridge. A sight to see and walk across, this bridge offers beautiful views of the water, River Thames, and surrounding buildings. Beautiful architect and not too crowded to walk across among others. Definitely stop by to walk along this iconic bridge.

Tower bridge is one of the iconic landmarks in London. The view of the bridge is best to be on the actual London Bridge so you can take a wonderful photo of the Tower Bridge. Both bridges are across from each other and the distance isn't that far away. It's a beautiful and if you like architecture than I would suggest paying the price and getting a more detailed look of it. If you don't want to than you could always just look at it from a boat tour, or on London Bridge. Some people could take a long time to view bridges but I think it isn't for everyone. So first you will have to see what you would like to do on your vacation trip and how much time you would want to spend on each spot. For us we only did a quick photo from London Bridge overlooking the water with the beautiful boats and also being able to see Tower Bridge. Hope this helps!

The infamous landmark that, arguably, can be said defines London as a city. Many mistake this for the London Bridge, as sung in the nursery rhyme, but that is actually an entire other bridge. Came here on an weekday afternoon during the holiday season and was surprised to find that there wasn't a ton of people. The ticket includes a ride on the elevator to the top of the tower, where a walkway overlooking the beautiful James river and other modern building connects the two towers. There's also a a part of the walkway where the ground is laid with glass. There you can take pictures of the activity on the bridge underneath your feet. Overall a fantastic place to visit here in London. Bonus points if you visit when the gate opens to let a ship through which only occurs 5-6 times a week.

We were fortunate to visit here on a rare sunny day and had purchased our tickets on line ahead of our visit. We walked right in, were greeted and scanned in ahead of the small line of customers. There is an option to use the elevator up or climb 100+ stairs to the walkways, we chose to use the stairs. The stairs aren't too bad but can be exhausting if you're not used to the workout. The walkways are fun and one has a glass bottom that no one wanted to walk on, including us. It was an easy walk around, some informative posters along the way with photos and helpful employees to answer any questions. The entrance fee also comes with a steam room ticket, we chose to skip this and head onto other sights. Overall Tower Bridge is a a must as this is iconic to London and watching the draw bridge raise for the boats is also a sight to see. The Uber Boat is about a 15 minute walk away and makes visiting the Tower Bridge very affordable and easier than a taxi. Definitely plan an hour here at most and enjoy!

One of the iconic monument in London is the tower bridge. Definitely truly beautiful and I was happy to be able to get to view this beauty from the upper levels. Buy a ticket at ticket booth as I bought mine from a third party site and paid more. But it's fine, as I enjoyed my visit. Prior to my visit, I was actually downstairs and was able to watch the bridge drawn up and down. And I am so lucky to be there to witness it. Being able to tour the tower bridge, both the west and east wing has a glass bottom floor. Where you can see traffic past by and the bay on the other sides of the bridge. The ticket allows you access to the engine room as well. Which is across the way. There are also short video clips to watch and information everywhere of the history of it.

From a person born and raised in NY, Tower Bridge is to London as the Brooklyn Bridge is to NYC, and something that I feel should absolutely not be missed (as a tourist or local). After a long drive from Stansted Airport this was such an exciting icon for us to see on our way to our flat. We were lucky enough to be staying close by so we also walked over the bridge and enjoyed the views from the park. You can also visit the museum here which we skipped. The walk and drive over was enough for us to really enjoy this bridge.

Construction for this bridge started in 1886 and was finished in 1894. Don't confuse it with the London Bridge -- that one is a few blocks away!
