On the Grid : Tower Theater

"Proudly standing in the heart of Little Havana, The Tower Theater is one of Miami's oldest cultural landmarks. When it opened in December of 1926, it was the finest state-of-the-art theater in the South. The theater was named one of the top 10 theaters in America by USA Today. Today, Tower is one of the best places in the city to watch independent and foreign films as well as a multitude of lectures and exhibitions. Concession prices are fair compared to the outrageousness of some of today's other multiplexes. Sneak yourself away from the music and people that populate Calle Ocho and retreat to a time when watching films was an event." - Colada Collective

The acoustics can be spotty, some bands sound good, others sound real muddled, at least at the barrier. I do like this venue though! I think it has a very neat layout, the option of tables and chairs is nice. Bottled water is $6, which should be a crime, but they will give you free cups of ice water, so I'll give it a pass. Note to owner: we would all rather pay $2-3 a bottle for Costco brand water than $6 for Fiji, and I'm sure that markup is probably better. Security was solid. There were a couple times the pit overwhelmed them, but other security guys jumped in immediately to help. They were very attentive and no one got dropped by them from crowd surfing. Staff is nice! We had a great time overall, and the venue is very intimate while still having a good capacity! Due to how the floor steps down, the area for the pit is pretty small, and will get crowded quickly. You will feel the moshing at the barricade, because it's so narrow. Still a great time though!

Went to see the "You Should Know" Peyton vs Cam tour. Good location near local eateries and had enough parking for the event nearby. The theater is old and you can tell, but thats part of the charm.

Google
Took my daughter here for her first concert. Great amenities and clear signage. Definitely look forward to more experiences to enjoy it more.

Google
My friend and I came here to watch Cam and Peyton world tour podcast and not only was the show incredible but the building itself is so unique!! It looks aged but yet new. It's a beautiful building and definitely a 5 star rating!

Google
I recently had the pleasure of attending director Kevin Smith's Aural Sects tour at the Tower Theatre. The staff was friendly and helpful and getting our tickers scanned and entry was fast. The Theatre itself is marvelous, retaining the vintage style of the Tower in it's prime. We did chose to get something from the bar and the line moved fast and the bartenders were excellent. Seating for our event was folding chairs, but they were padded and quite comfortable. I especially appreciated the rows being positioned to afford a little leg room. All in all it was a great evening. Thank you to the owners and staff of the Tower for this gem of a venue.

Google
This was a semi private event, everything was great, we enjoyed what was offered, the bar had good offerings.

Google
Pretty dope venue, service was good. No food here. Cool atmosphere and good size. Balcony sound is terrible for concerts, floor sound is way better

Google
This was a great venue! Went to the Bop to the Top tour and it was GREAT… the space is a little small and there wasn’t any air circulating so bring a fan it was BOILING HOT! And the water was expensive to have been that hot water was like $6 🤣

Yelp
After reading all of the horrific one star reviews, I'm now thankful for being unable to purchase tickets: my initial purchase attempt saw my choice of seats sold out from under me while in the payment process. Several attempts to contact the website phone number, resulted in endless ringing and ultimately a cut off/hang up from their end. It fits right in with all of the one star reviews. Buyer beware...just move on.

Yelp
Refreshingly cooler (with air conditioning and stylistically) than I imagined it might have been. I've been to some of these older theaters that are not quite up to par - but not this one. Comfortable and Kitschy - pleasantly old school with enough modern to count it relevant for a great place to enjoy good music, theater (or your choice of...) and fun! Thanks for hosting Post ModernJukebox! Wowzer and fantastic!

Yelp
Went last night to a jb party and did not disappoint!! This was so much fun. The place had so much space for everyone. Security made sure everyone was safe. There was a bar but the line was long so we went to the bar connected to the tower . Everything was good over all . Give them a try and check some of there up coming events

Yelp
Saw Sheng Wang here and it was actually my first time in the venue! It's a very cool theater and has a lot of history. Also extremely spacious stage and area - with nice lobby space. Staff and security do a great job and also Formosa Street Food & Bar is next door if you want to go there before/after a show (got their meatballs while waiting in line since they are so addicting). Highly recommended venue!

Yelp
We are here for the Journey tribute band show. Almost 30 minutes in, and there's still a not so great warm up act. Tower sold tickets for people to stand in the aisles, so none of us can see a thing...not that there's much to see. Having chairs along with people blocking aisles seems like a major safety hazard! I've enjoyed some shows here in the past, but this is miserable. One friend left and another is so mad, she says she'll never come again! Seriously, one expects a warm up act for major celebrities, but NOT for a tribute/copycat band. Last time for us, Tower Theatre!

Yelp
We went to see Cold Case Live. The show was really interesting and brought out some good info. The theatre is a nice small venue. After getting in and thru the metal detectors we walked into the theatre. There is a balcony for seating but we didn't check it out. The main area has several tiered levels that had folding chairs in makeshift rows. There was plenty of room Between the rows for your legs. They were a little close but we were able to move them apart to the side. The temps were very nice. We were in the middle tier center section back row and it was hard to see the participants over those in front of us. At the intermission we moved over to the left center section as nobody was seated there. This gave us a better view. They had a full bar set up but the drinks were quite pricey. 6 bucks for a soda or water was way overpriced. I didn't even look at the alcohol prices. The acoustics were very good as was the lighting. They use this for a lot of different events so I'm sure the configuration changes. It was a nice place and the staff I dealt with were very friendly and professional.

Yelp
My first time to the Tower. Journeys tribute Band. I don't have the words to express how awful this was. The warmup guy was the only one pleased with him! He went on and on expressing his greatness and he was horrible and played for at least an hour. Not needed for a cover band!! The Tower must have sold standing tickets because the entire center section was standing and blocking the view of us who had seating tickets. Who planned this??? So bad. It will take something major for me to ever return for another show there!!
google avatar

Mimi J.

Yelp
Would definitely come back! Attended a listening party here and it was a very fun atmosphere and felt safe.

Veronica M.

Yelp
Went to Journey Tribute at the Tower Theater last night and would give it an F- The warm up band was horrible. Since it was just a one man band I won't detail the host of reasons it was bad, but it was really bad. After paying $41 for my seat, I couldn't see the stage at all. They have some type of general standing area in the middle. So many people were there and standing out into the aisles that they obstructed the view for a large portion of the concert goers. I've been to one event at the Tower that was good, but this event was so terrible that I will never go back. I walked out after 20 minutes.

Karla M.

Yelp
Great show from The Fab Four tonight starting at 8 til 10. Doors opened at 7 and there was a long line. Sat 6 rows from the front and it was a perfect view! Fantastic music, sound and excellent! These guys looked and sounded like the Beatles! Would definitely want to see this again!

Yelp
"Safe" is the first word that pops into my mind when I think about the Tower Theatre. The Tower Theatre is a trusted establishment in the community that is not only a location for great music and dance parties but, they step up when needed. This unique local Theatre is located in the middle of Oklahoma City right on NW 23rd. The theatre was renovated and restored to showcase its original beauty. Bringing along with it new restaurants and bars to the area. The bright neon sign illuminates the busy street and is sure to catch your eye. Having attended a few concerts here the security and entrance line is pretty fast and standard. They check your bags and do a quick metal detector search. Once inside you are greeted by friendly staff members. You'll find a bar in the hallway, stairs toward the balcony, and clean restrooms. The bar is fully stocked with a selection of beers, seltzers, and other drinks at a reasonable price. For concerts they usually have floor sections where you are free to stand wherever you please. I always enjoy my time here. If you visit be sure to hop over to the bar next door to continue the fun.

Yelp
I have to say I have been very disappointed in the way tower has handled itself. I pre purchased tickets to the reverend Horton heat show. Due to the Covid restrictions at the time they were forced to postpone the show. I understand that. However it is now over a year later and the show still hasn't been rescheduled and tower refuses to refund me. They keep telling me since the show will be rescheduled my tickets will be good for that show. The rev has been to okc 2 times since all this neither show at the tower. It doesn't appear he wants to come back to the tower. I find this behavior absolutely deplorable and I highly recommend to not prepurchase tickets without knowing you will not be refunded if they decide to cancel the show even for a government pandemic shutdown.

Yelp
This is an old movie theater that's been converted into a music type of venue. It does offer balcony seating (it does have an elevator). The view is really good. The ole theater could use some updating + some other improvements but hey, it's not the Civic Center. It's a great place for a small concert or stage act. We have gone to several shows there and enjoyed every one of them. I don't believe there is any concessions, cocktails + soft drinks only. The staff seems to be fine.

Yelp
2nd visit to the Tower for a show. Small venue which is fine. Remodeled older theater which is great. I get my tickets online so I can't address buying on site. Security is good. 1st visit we went through a wanding outside before entering, presented our tickets and received a wrist band. 2nd time we presented our tickets, got wrist band and a light wanding. Entered the building and went through the security portal. Don't take a pocket knife that you always have in your jeans because they will make you take it out of the theater. Once in you have the option of going though a side entrance to the Ponyboy Club for drinks or going to your seat. They have people at the doors to direct you to your seat if you're not real familiar with the seating. Seating is folding chairs or tables. We went to a burlesque show so we had options for both types of seating. First visit we opted for the less expensive chairs. Not a fan. Close like an airplane seating without the arm rest. No place to put your drinks except by your chair on the floor and you know what happens to your drink right? You always windup kicking it over. They have some rows of chairs that have a ledge for setting things on. Good choice, but still tight and folding chairs. So far to me are the tables. They aren't bar height so you still get a folding chair, but you have a table to save your drinks. We set at a table in front of the sound board. It wasn't loud and if someone at a table around you got up you didn't have to stand up to let them pass. They have a bar with craft beer. You can do a tab. Water and soft drinks are in a cooler by the bar, but you pay at the bar. Don't forget to tip the bar tenders. It wasn't too hot or too cold, but we were setting out of the crowd. It might have been warmer the closer to the stage as it seemed more crowded. Sound was good. Could hear the music and dialogue well. It's just a quaint place to enjoy an evening of entertainment. Oh and after the show you can go through the pass to the PonyBoy. Parking is free on NE 23 across the street from the theatre. There is a cross walk with a light so you don't have to dodge the traffic trying to get across. I think there might be some street parking and parking in the back.

Yelp
It could use a good remodel and the Dr Dre symphony was basically a cover band and the dummest shit ever. Waste of $142.
google avatar

Yelp
Not to be confused with the Tower Of London Theatre which is where you get beheaded. This is a gorgeous Theatre which defines the whole Uptown neighborhood and reminds you of the old 50s style movie theaters which have been restored or preserved throughout the country. It is a wonderful element of the neighborhood and indeed the whole city. I think they could do a little bit more with it than they do - for example I would like to play a concert here one day! And see other big name acts play here. Why not. He says as if he's a big name act.

Yelp
I highly recommend this place. I went to see the CrankGameplays "I Have To Do This Show" and it was great. The venue was clean and the people working there were very nice. Not much else to say, it was just a pleasant little venue.
google avatar

Yelp
Good place for a concert. Went to the Read Southall Band show in December of 2022. The place was packed but still didn't feel overly crowded. We had standing room tickets and they remove the theater seats. It's a concrete floor so wear comfy shoes as you are standing on sloping concrete. Acoustics are really good, bathroom lines not too bad.

Yelp
I've been here for several events and concerts, and always have a great time! I like the layout of the theater, it lends itself well to all kinds of events - a big, tiered area on the floor separated by long thin bartops where you can set drinks or rest an elbow, and a seated portion in the balcony. There is always plenty of staff to check people in at the door, and ample bar staff to keep the lines moving. My experience has always been pleasant!

Yelp
This venue dropped the ball in a big way at the Willow Pill show last night. It was three HOURS of a handful of local drag queens stalling because the headliner wasn't even in the venue. Willow didn't even arrive until almost midnight for a show that was supposed to start at 8 P.M. (almost FIVE hours after doors opened!) it was straight up disrespectful to the local drag queens. These girls were doing five acts in a row trying to fill time. They were hosting the show, on top of performing, and they didn't even have a STAGEHAND for picking up clothes/tips. I can't believe how much the Tower charged for a show that seemed to have NO crew, NO stagehands, and couldn't even be bothered to mark their seating arrangements (seats were marked with a cheap, faded labelmaker and looked like it hadn't been updated in years.) No ushers to help either! They cut too many corners, and this isn't the first time this venue's hosted an overpriced shitshow; the Tower is a hot mess and is being run into the ground. I get that the flight delay for the headliner (probably) wasn't their fault. But it really felt like they did nothing to mitigate the damage. This was disrespectful and I will never attend another Tower Theater event.

Yelp
Went to my first show at Tower Theatre on a Sunday night in Oklahoma City and certainly was not disappointed whatsoever! We had prepaid tickets for Peter Murphy 40 years of Bauhaus! We checked in half hour before show. Waited in quick line and was able to stand pretty much in 2-3 row from stage, with plenty of elbow room too. Best place for a smaller concert show! Stage, lights and sound system were on point! The bartenders and staff so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this venue. Thank you Tower Theatre staff for a most enjoyable night!

Yelp
Good if your a visitor sucks to work there. The owners dnt give a fuck about you.

Yelp
What's not to love? A ragtag bunch of developers bands together to save a dying old movie palace. Concerts no one else gets, like Asleep at the Wheel, Rhett Miller, Talib Kweli. Movies are a mix of classic, independent and cult faves (Army of Darkness, anyone?). How do you like your movies? I'll take 4K digital projection and 7.1 Surround Sound system, please and thank you. Maybe you want a live stage show, based on a book by a local author, about how everyone is bad in bed, directed by a top local theatre wunderkind, complete with fly girls. You got it. Maybe you want a "get out the vote" concert in honor and for the benefit of progressive local candidates who might actually have a shot at fixing all that's broken in our state? You got that, too. Add to that a wonderful location in the heart of the city, with a dozen bars and restaurants *easily* walkable, loads of convenient parking, and team of individuals who are committed to bringing in events and entertainment that improve our community by connecting us to new ideas and different ways of looking at things. So many events here encourage community engagement and connection - I'm overwhelmed with gratitude and love for what these guys are doing. Long live the Tower Theater!

Kurt H.

Yelp
Buyer beware of this venue. The auditorium type seaing has been removed and replaced with same level seating. The results are devastating to the venue. Sight lines are now such that you have no view of the stage. About 75% of all seats in this venue have obstructed views. I attended Bruce Hornsby last night and could hear him great, but could not see any part of piano or Bruce Hornsby.I will be requesting a full refund and will never go to this venue again.
google avatar

Sandi K.

Yelp
This place is pretty legit! Acoustics are awesome. Way better than some of the other venues we have been to. Place was nice and clean as well. Can't beat that!

Juanita J.

Yelp
Nice venue... was able to attend the Lalah Hathaway concert, spectacular performance. Will definitely check out future events at this venue.

Madeline G.

Yelp
In no way wheelchair accessible. I was very disappointed to see that they didn't even have a portable ramp for the two stairs. I love the shows hosted here but I was very very upset that they didn't have an accessible option for me when the stairs are clearly simple enough for a portable ramp.

Yelp
I finally was able to go to the Tower Theatre for OKC Burlesque Festival, and I can say I was pretty impressed. Though the Fest is usually in the Plaza District and used to the room it had, the Tower Theatre did provide a more intimate setting. I was overwhelmed with the whole security just because I felt like I was walking through an airport system. You'll get your ticket scanned; then ID'd by next guy and then body examined by the last. Don't get me wrong they were pretty sweet and not your standard "Club Bouncers." They all had gigantic smiles and appeared naturally sweet while knowing they will be able to kick ass if needed. The hallway where we could buy products was a bit cramped at one point, but someone could get there early or stay after the show to ignore the cow herd feeling. I had two annoyances... One was the bar area, it was fine before the show and having just one bar area was a bit annoying during intermission. I would think that the bathrooms were going to be a bit nicer than just "club" like, but we are not for bathroom activities....right. I know that the tower theatre does many other things like concerts and even throwback movies. I'm excited to come back and see how they host another event.

Yelp
We took the girls, (teens),to see the Saturday screening of Hocus-Pocus. It was our first visit and we enjoyed it! If you're tired of the cineplex experience (I am!) give this a try! It's an old theater repurposed for both concerts and movies. The lower floor is set up for concerts (stage and open floor) and the balcony seating is for movies. Not a large seating area so it felt like we were watching the movie with a large group of friends. The staff was exceptional, friendly and helpful. When one of the girls (special needs) was at the concession stand the gentleman working it took time to answer all of her questions and was very kind! Not something we've experienced at large theaters. And the Popcorn was good! This is unique venue , be sure to check it out!

Yelp
This place deserves 10 stars, but alas Yelp only goes up to 5. They are a breath of fresh air breathing life into the Uptown 23rd District. The Tower is the focal point of the district and it has quickly become my destination for events and concerts and soon to be for movies! I used to come to Uptown for the bars and restaurants, now I come for a show and eat and drink around the show! The bar is crazy affordable for domestic beers and well drinks, I'm always shocked at how affordable when I tab out for the night. I've been to both events and concerts and this space is perfect for everything they host. Stephen Tyler has really dedicated himself to this space and it shows with state of the art equipment and a friendly staff. It's great to see the owners walking around when you visit a venue, its very on brand for OKC. I've been on a private tour before they opened and this space is something very special. It has access to other 23rd St. businesses and bars as well as office space for rent. I can't say enough positive things about the Tower so I'll just say, go see it for yourself!

Yelp
Seems like a nice enough venue, probably a good place to see music or other types of show, but attending a stand up comedy show here was a mistake. Not sure if it's the crowd (seemed to be mostly hipsters that seemed to live in the area, and came to the show without even knowing the comedian), or if it's the lack of preparation and intervention by staff that made this the worst comedy show I've ever attended. No announcements about rules, and no enforcement of any rules. People all throughout the theater talked, took pictures, and walked in and out the entire show. My 5 person group couldn't hear anything the opener said, and struggled through the main act that we paid to see. Just an awful experience due to a good portion of the crowd having no respect for the performers or the art form, and the staff's inability to control the situation. Also, the bars were slow which meant that people were filtering into the show to sit down for the first time 15 minutes into the headliner's set.

Yelp
Beer Summit event held at the Tower Theatre. The event was fairly organized, with easy to follow pamphlets and several boards put out with the times, tastings, brands, and precise directions given by the emcee. The beer flowed quite freely. Shot sized tasters of all the categories were served cold between each panel. Panels lasted about 45 minutes and had 4 experts. I wish there was more open dialogue with the attendees, when elaboration was needed. Everything from quality control to the reasoning behind hiring a microbiologist for cleanliness reasons, were spoke about in the panels. There was also an array of salty snacks to keep you thirsty. Lunch Hideaway pizza was served for lunch, the line moved quickly and there was a good variety of specialty pizzas to try. They executed the setup perfectly. Breakout sessions and tasting floor The original room where the panels were held, was turned into the tasting floor while the attendees enjoyed lunch. There were also breakout sessions with different beer tasting in the rooms upstairs. They were very detailed and would be great for anyone starting out in the beer business. The tasting floor was set up a bit strangely. There are tiered levels on the main stage floor and they set up the tastings only on the bottom two. If they would have just gone all up the aisle, I believe it would have solved some of the congestion issues. Overall It had a lot of useful information if you are in the business, but it could have been more interactive. As someone not running a craft brewery, it was above my head with some of the technical terms. I believe if they take the feedback from the public, this event will grow more with each passing year. It was an interesting experience and you get to try so many local and home brews, and that's always a good time.

Yelp
Being our first time visiting the Tower Theater, we were here to see Herb Alpert & Lani Hall. The staff are very accommodating and all in all it was a great atmosphere. The show was fantastic and the sound and acoustics were great as well. It's a wonderful venue. The only thing I didn't care for was the ADA seating was limited and in the back by the bar, which we felt shouldn't have been there. It was noisy, people were loud and made no attempt to "keep it down."The bar should be kept just outside the doors, it was too intrusive. We were interrupted by drunks from time to time. We didn't come here for that. I will say this however, security eliminated it fairly quickly which was very appreciated. That being said, we definitely will be back. Grateful we have this theater here in Oklahoma City, they're booking some epic entertainment here.

Yelp
I'm loving everything about what Tower Theatre is doing. They do so much with the space from movies and concerts to fundraisers and special events. Their concessions and alcohol pricing are cheap compared to other similar venues. Many shows and all of the movies are $10. The balcony seating is awesome and fits a fairly large crowd. I also really like the studio which is separate from the theatre. It's perfect for smaller shows. It is so great to have the Tower open again, and it's definitely making Uptown an even more desirable district. I love this space, and I look forward to attending more events here. They always have something going on, so be sure to check their event calendar to see what's coming up!

Yelp
Unless you're living under a rock, you already know how awesome the Tower Theatre is and all of the incredible events they are bringing to our city. Let's face it - starting up a new venue like this is hard work. But this team is killing it. From hosting amazing concerts to having an incredible, intimate movie watching space, this venue truly provides an entire spectrum of entertainment - run by people who care. Additionally, you can rent this space for events. The team is incredible to work with, and can help your vision come into frutition easily!

Yelp
Had a great night seeing a Reckless Kelly show on a Saturday at the Tower. The show started at 8 and we arrived around 8:30. The place was already humming even though the opening act hadn't gone on yet. There are a couple of bars in the hallway before you get into the actual theatre. Then, in the theatre, there is a large bar at the top that is well-staffed. There was a wait as the place was very crowded, but they did a good job of getting you in and out quickly. About halfway down there was another bar, although this one just served beer, so if you want a mixed drink you'll need to hit up the larger bar. I did not get closer to the stage to see if there is another bar down there, but given how crowded it was that seems unlikely. The sound is great and we had a good view of the stage even though we were not close. Drink prices were commensurate with what you would expect at a concert like this. Certainly not cheap, but not out of control either. There is a decently large restroom, although when there are this many people in a place there is going to be a line most of the night. The Tower is in a solid location near plenty of bars and restaurants, and there is a parking lot across the street. If you cannot get parking there you'll have to brave 23rd and the surrounding neighborhoods. Then again, that's what Lyft's for. Had a blast and as many others note, the Tower is a great addition to OKC. Will definitely be back.

Christian R.

Yelp
We recently attended a concert here. The act was great, the sound was good, but I was not thrilled with the venue. The doors opened later than advertised for the event, the seats were folding chairs that were touching with no arm rests or anything so I had to get cozy with the stranger next to me, and there was a bar in the hall just outside the theater. Sounds like a bonus, but the bar and its line were louder than the opening act for anyone near the back of the theater. It won't keep me from attending a show here, but it wasn't amazing.

Yelp
I've been to the Tower for a number of unique events and I must say that it is a super cool spot. From movie showings to concerts and everything in between, the Tower is quite the venue. The bar prices are in line with other venues around town and the bar staff are always friendly. The location of the Tower is also quite nice, as it is conveniently located near some exceptional bars and restaurants. I look forward to attending many more events at the Tower!

Yelp
LOVE this place for both its showings and its concerts alike. I'm not much of a drinker, but all my friends swear by the bar here. This has become not only a top drawer event center venue, but also sort of the focal point for the Uptown gentrification efforts. I love that a grand old movie theater such as this one has been renovated with love and great care.
google avatar

Michele L.

Yelp
The Tower Theatre's neon marquee welcomes you in for an electric night of live music! It's such a joy to see a historic theatre brought back to life and thriving. We enjoyed learning a little of the history by browsing around before the show started. Well done renovation and great acoustics. I'l certainly be back soon!

Yelp
Really enjoyed this venue for a concert setting. The building itself is very clean & nice, with easily accessible parking right across the street for their patrons. It gave the concert a very intimidate vibe. When they say standing, it is 100% standing only. So if you think you may want a seat at some point you will need balcony. I heard they show movies here too, which I'll have to check out sometime.

Yelp
Just moved to Uptown mid January. Went to the Tower Theater to see a show.....Mt. Joy. Looking forward to going more often especially since I can walk there from my place. Interested in meeting new people.

Yelp
The management here is appalling. Their managers are very rude and and don't have good customer service skills. If you ever have an issue here don't expect them to do anything about it. They're very lazy and need to be replaced.

Yelp
Love this spot for small shows in OKC. We recently went to both a movie and a concert here and loved them both. The movies take place in the balcony on a roll-down screen. The atmosphere is cute and intimate, but the seats are not raised enough to see the screen clearly. I'm 6' tall and I couldn't see over the people in front of me. It is like you are looking down at the screen, but the seats in front of you are the same height. Maybe raising the height of the screen could help. Regardless, there's a full bar and almost any problem can be drowned with that. The concert venue is awesome. I recommend the first row of the balcony seats, as you can have a great view, great sound, and no crowd. The sound system is clear, and the venue is small enough that the acoustics are great. Prices can be steep, and they do tend to sell out quickly since the venue is so small. I recommend buying early and often!

Yelp
1. Great venue. 2. The bar staff works hard and fast so that is great. 3. Security is ok.. you could have more people in the crowd. I have seen several fights start and finish within 5 min just within the crowd . They were the extinguisher. (That's not their job). 3. Please please please figure out your smoking situation. With that said please see my diatribe. I don't smoke but my fiends do, so if I have to hear about the re-entry rules again I may loose my mind. It's not hard to stamp hands, or something too that effect so you can have people go outside and get their fix. If you not a smoker then you cannot understand but please have a heart. If not using a (smokers heart) then use your business brain. . Three hours without a cig just looses you money. I have seen many many smokers leave after 2 hours and not come back in spending money at the pump, bunker club ect. Does money leaving your venue make any sense simply because of the smoking issue? You can charge $9 a drink (like you do) and after 3 customers you will make the money it takes to hire the staff it takes to controlled the smokers. Easy peasy. Figure that out. That's all. Charles

Yelp
The location of Tower Theater is perfect and close to lots of bars and tons of places to eat. Parking can be an issue so arrive early for a show and grab food. The venue seemed spacious and open. A piece of advice, if you're short like me, wear heels! I had to keep moving to see the stage but still enjoyed the show. I would also recommend drinking before going, as one can of DNR was $12.

Yelp
I'm going to stalk this place for shows. We paid $15 per person for an amazing show. The space is awesome, not a bad view anywhere. Clean! Show up during the opening act and you'll be up front. Never got really crowded although there were a lot of people there, no one was breathing down your neck or elbowing you. Lines for drinks looked long but the bartenders moved it along (and remembered me each time even though they were very busy) you can start a tab at the bar..which is nice or dangerous! we truly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I love the Tower Theater. For years, it stood empty and dilapidated, but some local entrepreneurs bought the building and renovated it with the original architecture in mind. I've seen local bands here and attended great food events like Uptown 23rd's "Uptown Uncorked." The Tower Theater renovation relit the once bright TOWER sign, and restored the street to its former glory. Despite being so closely located to the Capitol and i-235, the city installed a crosswalk directly in front of the theater, allowing for pedestrians to feel safer wandering throughout the area or heading back to the newly paved lot across the street. This is a great area to park and walk around. I'd recommend it for locals or others just passing through town.
