The Best Burgers Minneapolis and St. Paul | Eater Twin Cities

"The Brewer’s Double — consisting of two quarter-pound beef patties, American cheese, and pickles all on a pub bun — is the standout on Town Hall Tap’s extensive list of burgers. The best part? It’s also available at Sidecar, Town Hall’s next-door cocktail bar, and at Town Hall Lanes bowling alley. Wanna go veggie? Opt for the wild rice burger — a Minnesota veggie burger if there ever was one. Yes, it’s available for takeout." - Cinnamon Janzer

The Wisconsin cheese curds paired with the Milk and Honey blood orange cider was a great pairing. The place was charming and the staff were attentive and kind. Highly recommended if you're in the area!

Great Neighborhood spot! Food is always amazing and the service is truly wonderful! From the beautiful hostess that greats and seats to the fantastic bartender this place makes you feel like family… I will definitely be back! Thanks Micaela and Ellie keep up the great work

We ate here for a quick meal at the bar because we were going to a show next door. I don't know what people in the other reviews are complaining about. I asked the bartender if she'd order a burger or chicken sandwich, and she decisively said chicken sandwich, so that's what we went with. And I thought it was really good! The drinks and food arrived quickly, everything tasted great, she checked in with us, and bill came when we requested it. Everything I would want into a neighborhood bar.

The food is very delicious, I’ve been back several times! The jalapeño cheese pretzels is delicious, so is the wild rice burger, the fries are a must! It’s super cute inside but when we went it was super busy, the service was great but it was a little loud! Definitely will be back.

Town Hall Tap is a consistent stop for us during the summer. It's got a great back patio and when the front is opened up during beautiful weather it has a great summer atmosphere. I have yet to order anything that I didn't like. The fried prickles are unique from the typical fried pickles and are a fried cream cheese pickle sandwich that has been fried and served with a lingonberry sauce. The beer list is also full of local options that rotate. The only thing that prevents the perfect score is that service can be slow at times, even when it does not appear that busy, but don't let that deter you, because this place is still a really solid option.

Hi, Town Hall Tap! Fellow neighborhood customer here. Would love to see more vegetarian and vegan options on your menu. I see so many opportunities to partner with local Herbivorous Butcher (I don't work for them nor am getting paid to say this) to fill this gap on your menu. Examples: you could easily offer a substitute for a buffalo "chicken" sandwich or your "chicken" salad, tots with "bacon", more vegetable-heavy soups relying on lentils or beans for protein & meatiness (in place of heavy creams), an Impossible or Beyond burger (yes, I see you have a wild rice burger), veggie tacos with black beans, avocado, "ground beef" or roasted sweet potatoes. Your veg patrons out there are looking for flavorful filling options that include the basics of protein + fat, just like your other offerings provide. Due to your lack of veg options my husband and I rarely visit your business. Should your menu become more inclusive we would love to make you one of our walkable neighborhood staples!

Quite good beer! The Blood Orange Lager was a delightful surprise - refreshing and unique! The sweet corn nachos paired great with all the beer we had. I would definitely return for another round! 🍻

The all female (semi friendly) staff don’t seem to like their jobs very much. Maybe they feel overworked and underpaid!? Didn’t get the impression that any of them wanted to be there. The Poutine burger patty was super chewy and lacked flavor. Although I must say the fries were excellent. Regardless, will not be going back.

Yelp
This was a first time visit for a buddy and me when we stopped in for a Monday lunch on a very cold (big surprise!) February afternoon. The place was virtually empty, which was a bit of a concern, but our server's (Nel?) arrival quickly put us at ease. The menu was offers plenty of options for guests and we went with the Walleye Tacos and Ragamuffin Chicken Sandwich. I went with the sandwich after our server assured me the breading was applied in the Town Hall Tap kitchen. I'm glad she did. Our food arrived promptly, looking good (sorry, I didn't get a photo) and at good temperatures. Nel stopped back regularly to check on us and engage in friendly, pleasant conversation about the history of the restaurant and other nearby businesses. It was a pleasure to find and enjoy Town Hall Tap. We'll be back and hope to see other Yelpers during future visits.

Yelp
Cool old timey bar. Burger and fries were good. Jalepeno cheese pretzels were good as well. Service a little slow.

Yelp
Great service, good vibes and yummy food and drinks. A group of 10 of us came in for happy hour and had a great time! We actually tried to get into the Side Car next door, but they couldn't fit us all and asked us to come here. Highly recommend the Tenderlion Bites If you love cremini mushrooms, crispy onions and teriyaki glaze as much as I do. It was a bit pricey at $17 but it was delicious. I really love coming here in the summer when they open up the windows that function like garage doors.

Yelp
Town Hall Tap was fine. They have some of the best cheese curds I've ever had - they melt in your mouth. Unfortunately, that was the only good thing. The Eggplant Panini was bad, which was frustrating because it was also overpriced. It was dry and tasted burnt, and was a thin slice of eggplant on thick, dry ciabatta. Most of their menu is fairly overpriced (~$18) for being bar food. Our server wasn't very attentive, but I'm not sure if that was their fault. We were seated at roughly the same time as another large party. I might go back for the cheese curds, but otherwise there are way better pubs in the city with better food, service, and prices. My partner enjoyed their overpriced burger.

Yelp
Coworker friend and I had Saturday night drinks and dinner here before a show next door. Street parking is tough when it's busy, but we luckily found a spot in the lot across the street. We were greeted by the hostess and got our names on the list. Had a short 10 minute wait next to the bartop. Just enough time to get a drink placed with the bartender and a sip or two down before a table was available. There were so many good things on the menu, and reviews here on Yelp. I decided on the Burger of the Moment: the Juicy Lucy. Omgosh... Top 5 hamburger I've ever had. The cheese was melted perfectly. My mouth did not get 3rd degree burns. And the bun was toasted yet soft on the outside. Fries were perfect too. Friend is a light eater and requested a kids hamburger (smaller patty). She says it was tasty but was disappointed it didn't come with a fixing (lettuce, tomato). An accidental assumption, misunderstanding. Waittress was friendly and quick with food delivery and bill. Private one room bathroom. Clean and stocked. Great ambiance in both bar area and dining room.

Yelp
Thank you for the personalized service. We were heading to another restaurant up the street and were not happy with the vibe. We decided to try Town Hall and are pleased with our experience. ROBBIE was an excellent server. He was attentive and kind. This was just what we needed after leaving the other place hungry and disappointed. It wasn't easy finding a parking spot and we really didn't want to drive around looking for another place to eat. The food was great. Check was presented in a timely manner. Thanks for saving a night that could have been a disaster.

Yelp
Stopped in for a beer after having dinner at nearby Heathers. Long selection of craft beers. Good service. A large number of people enjoying themselves on the outdoor tables. I will be back to check out the food.
google avatar

Yelp
All the food here is amazing. 10/10 recommend the fried pickles and the wings. Friendly staff and great drinks at a reasonable price. If you come in the summer they have lots out outside seating in the front and back of the restaurant. Bathrooms and clean and well maintained. Over a great place to stop in for a bite. Or even some drinks and appetizers. I would give 6 stars if I could.
google avatar

Yelp
Not a brewery, but a great craft beer house (with a couple of dozen offerings) serving elevated pub grub too. Their version of (house-made) tater tots is sublime. Burgers are aces. Friendly, knowledgeable servers. Terrific neighborhood. Perfect place to drop in before/after a Parkway Theater entertainment!

Tyler B.

Yelp
The host was very kind and pleasant to talk to. They really made sure we would get a table as soon as possible. The vibe of the entire place is so comforting. It just feels so good to be here. I got the Boom Burger. 8.4/10. I could taste every ingredient separately and as one. I also ordered the fried pickles with cream cheese. WHAT A COMBO! 8.1/10. Tasted like something you would get at the state fair.

Yelp
I visited Town Hall Tap on a Friday evening with 3 other people. As far as I could tell there was only street parking which is fine. We got a table easily which I always love! I got the orange blossom cocktail and I highly recommend this drink if you enjoy fruity cocktails! I ordered the Mediterranean gyro and it was the most disappointing gyro. The meat was not cut like gyro meat and it was incredibly dry. There was maybe one slice of tomato on the gyro. I also asked for no onions and still ended up with onions on my gyro, not the best. Two of my friends ordered the Burger of the Moment. This burger was a "surf and turf" style burger. As it was a spontaneous choice to choose the Burger of the Month, it just wasn't a great burger. The patty was overdone and dry. The shrimp with the Cajun flavor did not work well with the burger. However, it is important to keep in mind that this was the Burger of the Moment so hopefully it will not be on the menu for long. My friend who ordered a salad, enjoyed the dish but it is difficult to mess up a salad. I gave this restaurant 3 stars because our waiter was very nice and attentive & the atmosphere was enjoyable. However, at the end of the day I will not be coming back to this restaurant. I came to this restaurant to enjoy a tasty meal with friends and I was beyond disappointed with the food.

Yelp
Just went here for the first time and there was no parking lot however the street parking was easy to find. I really loved the chicken tenders and fries. My friends and I also split the cheese curds and fried pickles and they were good too, however I personally prefer my fried pickles without cream cheese. Our server was very nice and attentive as well. Will be back soon.

Yelp
I had dry rub chicken wings last night. I couldn't eat more than three. They were so salty! I was up must of the night with painful indigestion. Dealing with diarrhea this morning.

Yelp
Townhall tap is at offshoot of Minneapolis town hall brewery. For the last few years, I found that it is fastly superior. The food is pretty much the same, and the beer selection is much better, because their guest beers are very well selected. On this visit, I was especially impressed by the waiter Robbie. He was in constant motion, moving really fast, but didn't skip a beat in the service he provided. The booth next to me had two groups were chatty and the time I was there. Robbie gave them what they wanted and recognized that I wanted to work in my computer. Although we didn't communicate much he was always there when I wanted something because he was keeping his eye on me and everybody else. Simply couldn't be better.

Yelp
Great local spot for a beer and a burger and the chicken strips are some of the best I've ever had.

Yelp
Just decided to give it a try since we needed to kill some time and so glad we did. WOW! The service is excellent, super friendly and had zero problems getting samples of beer since we didn't know what we wanted. The food was amazing and so fresh. We got one of thier burgers and it was one of the juiciest burgers I've had in a long time. The ambience is super cute and reminds me of Wi. :) I wish we lived closer so we could come here more, as I feel we could easily become a regular here. But we will for sure be back! Oh and the brunch on weekends has $2.75 Mimosas till 11, how can you go wrong.

Yelp
Went to Town Hall Tap on a Sunday evening. We were seated immediately and our service was good. Here is a breakdown of what I tried: - Fried pickles: 10/10 best fried pickles I've ever had. Love the cream cheese in them and lingonberry sauce for dipping - Cheese curds: 3/10 they were almost cold and tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. A few were still doughy. - Sweet corn nachos: 7/10 the queso was good - overall a solid dish - Tenderloin bites: 5/10 the meat was cold and dry, I liked the dipping sauce.

Yelp
I found Town Hall Tap on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. Not only do they serve their own beer, but they also have a full bar and I get to drink wine while my BF drinks his beer. The restaurant has a really cozy feel which must be nice during one of those long Minnesota winters. It's a little on the dark side but I did not mind. We were seated right away in a booth and the server was with us right away. We ordered our drinks and we each ordered food. I went light with a house salad and grilled chicken; the BF went with the pulled pork and instead of fries, he ordered the soup of the day. I really liked the salad and for a measly $3, I got a HUGE piece of chicken on top of my salad. The vinaigrette was housemade and well seasoned. The pulled pork sandwich? Well, I think he ate it in about four bites and said it was absolutely delicious. I tried his soup and neither of us was that gung-ho on it. It was chicken with vegetables, kale and couscous. Sounded delicious. Was very bland and he did not finish it. I would definitely go back to the restaurant. As we were waiting for the bill, I saw a server walk by us with an order of the cheese curds. OMG they looked so good. Maybe that will be the appetizer we start with next time.

Yelp
Way over priced for the food. Small plates. Everything was Spicey. Our waitress wasn't friendly since we came in with kids.

Yelp
It was Fourth of July and my wife and I finished the town parade and there was hardly anything open on the Holiday. I have been wanting to try Town Hall Tap for a long time, they have been open since 2010, so 7 years. The garage doors were open on a perfect day, we sat right by the open doors. Amazing. I ordered an Indeed Peach IPA and the Cubano. Our server was super nice and checked on us often, but not annoyingly so. They were pretty busy, so it was a small wait for the food, so i ordered their flagship beer, Masala Mama IPA. The Cubano was a ton of juicy pork with the perfect amount of cheese on a lovely Ciabatta roll. So tasty! I subbed the side salad for fries for $1, SO worth it, you definitely get a solid salad with your meal. Not just crummy iceberg. It also comes with some awesome cheesy dipping sauce, which is wonderful. The deco is full of old beer signs and overall very cool. Highly recommended place.

Jeremy L.

Yelp
Very reasonable prices and good food! I had the BLT. It was quick, simple, inexpensive, delicious, and with great service!

Lindsey B.

Yelp
Pretty good overall experience. The cheese curds were amazing. Boom burger sub fried chicken was excellent. The restaurant smelled very strongly of fish, though, and it was really hot because everything was open. Beer was great. Wish they'd had bottles of the quad or scotch ale to take home.

Yelp
Casual little spot for late night bites and beer. My date and I stopped in after an after an evening airport pickup to grab a quick pint, dinner, and catch up from his latest trip. I like the neighborhoody feel of this place. No particular bells and whistles, but quaint and perfect for conversation. Another table was enthusiastically cheering on the bowling tournament televised in the corner. Gotta love it, dude. Service was prompt, beer was tasty, and our meals were a solid step up from typical bar food. My only complaint for my grilled cheese with fries is that it could have used a bit more melty cheese for the large quantity of bread. That aside, I'll still be back.

Steve M.

Yelp
The Tap is great this time of year with the big open windows/doors. A nice lovely vibe. The burgers are delicious with large portions to share. The servers are on the ball and attentive with nice suggestions. It's great to enjoy outdoor dining!

Yelp
So... it's that time of year again... and I'm on... {gulp}... a diet! But I really wanted to go out to eat. I asked the BF if he'd be down for Town Hall and he said of course - he loves their menu variety - and I do too. The last time we visited it was Summer. (Remember those days???) And the cool thing about Town Hall is they have these garage doors in the front that that open to their patio seating. We could bring the dog, relax, have a few drinks and enjoy the sunshine. This time we visited during the polar vortex. And it was still nice. :) Garage doors closed, heat on. Even though this wasn't my first time visiting, this was my first time counting calories. And I was pleasantly surprised with my options! (BTW the calories aren't listed on the menu, so you have to know your nutrition.) One of my favorites - you can sub fries for a salad OR asparagus for a few bucks more! Anyway, I ordered the Black Bean Burger, the BF got the Northern Cubano. I loved mine - inhaled it in record time. The BF liked his... Cubanos are his favorite, so he fancies himself as a connoisseur. He spent a few minutes telling me about the amazing Cubanos he could get back in Ohio (???) but ended the story with, "I mean, this was good...." 4 stars for the fact Town Hall doesn't have a full bar liquor license. (Though, personally, I don't care - they have Pinot Grigio. I will be back for a glass or 3 come summer!) And I will say, my feet were pretty cold. They are definitely trying to keep the place warm during this cold snap - it's nature's fault, not theirs. But still, I wasn't 100% comfortable. BUT - you should go anyway! They have yummy guacamole! They have Naan Tacos! (What?!?!) And they have fried pickles! (Obviously, this is why I'm counting calories these days...) But I also learned they have lots of healthy-ish choices too! And a great beer selection. Try it - you'll like it!

Yelp
What a cool little place with sidewalk seating, friendly staff, and from what I experienced excellent beer. I ordered the cask Oktoberfest. I was really shocked when it came out with a thick creamy nitro looking head. Most cask beers I have had are very low carb. This thing was incredible. I could have stayed all night sucking that beer down. Man it was good. I didn't eat but I saw several plates come out to others and the food looked really good. Overall this was a great experience.
google avatar

Ethan H.

Yelp
Very efficient and friendly server/bartender working during happy hour (~4:30) on a Monday afternoon. Their twist on fried pickles is unique and delicious! Beer is a bit pricier than other places but it's pretty good.
google avatar

Hnou V.

Yelp
Extremely busy on a Friday bought. Lots of families here, friend groups, and couples. I highly recommend their chicken curry naan tacos. It's just freaking delicious and amazing mix of textures. Be careful though, it can be spicy with all the jalapenos. Their sides weren't that great though. Namely the chips and fries. Beer selection was great. Service was fast and efficient.
google avatar

Katie V.

Yelp
Very glad to have this place in the neighborhood. It's not reinventing the wheel in terms of the menu, but it's a more-than-serviceable pub. Food I have tried has been pretty solid - burgers are juicy and flavorful, fried chicken sandwich very good (and large!), cheese curds good but wish they came with ranch instead of marinara. Fries are kind of a letdown; and if you order a salad, I would steer clear of the homemade Hope & King maple vin- it's too sweet, basically maple syrup. Prices are a tad high for pub food but not surprising given the area. Burger and a beer plus tip will run you about $20. Beer/wine only - kind of odd but I'm sure tied to their taproom license. Still, a Bloody Mary would taste so good with their Brewe:burger!
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
I'm all about this place. Food is decent and the beer selection is outstanding. The thing about this place that I really appreciate is what JP and Todd offer up behind the bar. They really know their beer and will offer up a sample that's in the flavor you enjoy (everything from IPA's, sours, ales, and ciders) if you are having a hard time deciding what to swill. When beers are going for $5+ a pop, you want to enjoy whatever it is you are getting and sending back a full beer, well, screw you for being that wasteful person. A lot of their beers are rotating so anytime you go in there, there will be something new. For example on Saturday night I had Founders Rubeus on nitro. I'm a huge raspberry beer guy and this was sooooo smooth and yummy. I'm usually an appetizer guy when I go to this place but last time I had the walleye tacos. Excellent taco's and the pico de gallo that comes with it is tasty. Also love the little Hot Wheels people slide up and down the bar when they are bored.
google avatar

Yelp
Neighborhood gem alert! Classic pub featuring your favorite bar food, beers, and wine. Super cozy spot featuring dark wood paneling and dim lighting. It is lively and gets pretty busy, so make a reservation if you're coming at prime dinner time and want to be seated immediately. We ordered the burger and it was juicy and flavorful, along with the ahi tuna salad, which pleasantly surprised us! Left happy, though I felt the prices were a little steep for the quality and location.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Derek made the best mescal manhattan. A very delicious and unexpected alternative to a traditional manhattan. Definitely worth a try!

Michelle L.

Yelp
It is in my hood so I am there a lot. I don't drink brew, but I hear they have a great selection. Let me just tell you; The Town Hall Tap has THE BEST stuffed pretzels, anytime, anywhere, anyhow.

Yelp
Skiddaddled our way over to the Town Hall Tap last Sunday for a quickie. Been meaning to drop by since ole Veej and Ye Wife are in the neighborhood. I went with the Patty Melt and Ye dialed in the Chicken Tenders Flight. The food was good but didn't blow me away. Solid beers on tap to get wiggity wild on. Takes an army for a 5-star VJ Spinner review so don't fret. We will be coming back in the summa when it's nicer out and they open their doors for the open air seating. Go Vikes!

Yelp
THFY! Thank God For Yelp!!! When searching for a place today I read the reviews for Town Hall Brews and was intrigued and decided to bring my family here as our first stop on our mini trip to Minneapolis. We were not disappointed. We were able to drive into a cute neighborhood. The ambiance here was perfect. Gave the feel of a home off. The menu selection was great. I strongly recommend everyone try the beer cheese soup. It tastier the. Anything we've had before plus served with popcorn. We also chose food from their brunch menu. Everything from the names to the ingredients to the taste was fantastic. Beer ... WOW!!! Loved everything i sampled. If they have the sun honey its a must. Im a porter girl but couldn't get enough of this light and crisp beer. The service was quick and friendly!

Julie K.

Yelp
The food is good. Every single time I come here the service is not. Servers/bartenders are crabby, dismissive, annoyed. I don't get it. We live in the neighborhood and only stop by when it's been a long time since our last time and we have somehow forgotten the bad service.
google avatar

Yelp
A crowded restaurant at 8 pm on a Friday night is always a good sign. As a true craft beer sob I originally came here for the vast beer selection but decided to make a trip of it and eat dinner as well. They have everything from in-house beers, nitro brews, ciders, cask beers and everything in between. I loved it because there was an option for every type of beer drinker. We ordered the buffalo wings as an appetizer which were more of a dry rub seasoning than your typical buffalo sauce, different but good. My boyfriend got the Northern Cubano and loved it, quite a hefty portion of pulled pork and ham. I ordered the walleye sandwich which was decent. The hoagie bread was a little overpowering in relation to the size of the walleye but still tasty. Each sandwich comes with an ample amount of fries that are perfectly crispy. The other menu items consist of only burgers and sandwiches so if you're more in the mood for an entree dinner you're better off going somewhere else. My boyfriend loved this place and I thought the atmosphere and food was okay. Might have to give it another shot sometime.

Yelp
Have been visiting sporadically for nearly three years after moving into the neighborhood in 2015 and have yet to order anything that makes us fans. As residents of the neighborhood it's convenient enough to walk over when we're too tired or lazy to cook or head out somewhere good that requires a drive but we have learned to keep our expectations low with THT. The truth is that there is noting here that is truly terrible but also nothing really good either. The value is in the space when the weather is good and the big garage doors can be open but otherwise, there's not much to really get excited about.

Nathaniel J.

Yelp
Town Hall offers a nice variety of beers and has a full spirits bar to back it up. Food is certainly bar food, but delicious all the same. I like the open wall concept and staff and patrons have all been welcoming and kind.

Yelp
The the opening of the Town Hall Tap has been long awaited for the South Minneapolis folk, itching for some decent beer. Well, itch no more, The Tap is open and everything you hoped it would be! The dining area is gorgeous! Mostly made of wood and covered in vintage beer parifinalia, you have your choice between tables or booths which all (or most) look to be antique, refurbished furniture. Complete with wood floors, you almost get a cabinesque-dive bar-old Euro feel to the restaurant. The bar itself was also refurbished (1890's, Ireland) and very fitting for the environment! The beer list gives you more options than you need! (Never a problem.) They have a good selection of beer from within and outside the U. S. They are also carrying some original, hand-crafted beers from Town Hall Brewery. The house Java Porter for you coffee/dark beer lovers wraps all of your vices into one drink, supported by Sovereign Grounds coffee. If you like hoppy beers, try the Marmalade Sky-citrusy and refreshing. The food was great! The fried pickles appetizer comes in a close second to the brie bites-my favorite. I also had a Heidleburger that won't keep your arteries clean, but sure tastes delicious! Word has it you should also try the fried chicken sandwich, the homemade Reuben, or get the beer cheese soup in a bread bowl from Turtle Bread Co. Service was good! Since it is new, they are still working out some kinks. However, the service staff was very pleasant and efficient, and the manager came around to check on our experience. The bathrooms are clean, but single only, so plan accordingly-there are always lines. This is a must try for South Minneapolis folk. Quality beer and bar food! Good Atmosphere! I'm not really sure what else you would want?

Yelp
I'll start off by saying my husband loves this place! I love their beer, but to me the food is just ok. I've been here twice now. I had the same burger the hubbie had, the brewers burger with goat cheese, I thought it was alright he on the other hand wants to eat it everyday. We started off with the brie curds, how do they get them into a square!? That's served with jalapeno jelly. I had the Northern cubano, personally I would have like it better without the ham but that would just be a pulled pork sandwich now wouldn't it. The sauce they gave me was old and had a film on it - eewww. All the beers we had were Surly furious on cask, yes on cask - the best! Dortmunder - yum! And the verbalvine (not sure on that spelling). The bartender was our server, he was really attentive and not to bad on the eyes - hubba hubba...

Yelp
This is one of the better tap rooms in the Twin Cities. Not a Brew Pub, but they brew 4-6 types of their own beer, very good Masala Mama IPA, porter, and a really good Pale Ale. Not a tavern even though they have a good rotating variety of taps and bottles from "guest" breweries. The guacamole was pretty tasty, and they have garage doors that open up the space in nice weather. They also have a nice outdoor sitting area. Definitely worth a try as you work your way through the gastro/brew pubs in the city!

Yelp
There's very little that Town Hall can do wrong in my mind, as I'm a big fan of the mothership location in Seven Corners and Town Hall Lanes in Nokomis, so it's no surprise that Town Hall Tap has quickly become one of my go-to's in my new neighborhood. As one would expect from a Town Hall location, beer is going to be the focal point. They usually have a handful of tap handles serving Town Hall draughts from the Seven Corners location and the rest of the twenty or so taps are rounded out by a number of local and regional craft brewers (and generally a pretty good selection of ciders). Also, wine and beer only here - venture on craft cocktail aficionados. Food-wise, Town Hall Tap is similar to the rest of the Town Hall family, it's bar food with a little bit of extra effort and flare, but it's not breaking any molds. Expect a lot of burgers, fried foods and usual suspect sandwiches. The Cubano and various burgers rarely disappoint, even if they are pretty standard fare. Service has always been very friendly regardless of the hour on the clock and the ambiance is inviting - definitely a welcome spot in what is overall a pretty residential part of town.

Yelp
One of the tastiest chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time! Fresh chicken well seasoned and prepared. They have an excellent beer selection and you can order a flight of different local or seasonal drafts. yum! Nice Neighborhood place and worth trying out. The food is a bit pricey for what they offer but nice to have in our neighborhood.

Yelp
I love this place! The beer and wine selection is great and the food is delicious. They could do with a few healthier and/or smaller portioned meals but I can't complain about the quality. Their chicken sandwiches are my favorite entrees and the pork wings are to die for. Some reviewers need to lighten up...they opened less than two months ago and the conversations I've had with a couple of the waitstaff and bartenders show they know about the drafty door and are working on it. If you aren't into kids you may want to wait until after 9...this is a neighborhood place so there always seems to be at least one annoying brat in the place. Overall I think once this place has worked out the minimal kinks they have it is going to be my new hang out. Great food, great beer and great service. They've got me hooked!! Just found out they support a few local businesses which is great for the neighborhood. They've done some promo stuff with Rue 48 Salon (also had some bathroom stuff in the men's and women's restrooms which quickly vanished), Spruce Floral, Soverign Grounds Coffee House (they use their beans to make the Java Porter which is DELICIOUS) and they use Turtle Bread for the optional bread bowl you can order with their soup. Very classy, THT!!

Yelp
Well let's just jump into. Two stars are for their beer. Their selection and freshness is excellent. You have a selection of cask beers, nitro beers, and your standard CO2 from MPLS' vibrant craft beer scene. Will always hit them up for beer if I am in the neighborhood, and you should too! Town Hall Tap lost two stars because they apparently can't cook a hamburger, and the server was aloof at best. I usually ask for my burgers to be medium rare because most often they over cook them at restaurants (except for Red Cow which is awesome). With this logic I usually end up with a burger that is medium or at worst medium well. I take a bite of my burger and found out it was served completely well done, and quite frankly devoid of any type of moisture one would find in a burger. The server asked how is everything and I said this burger is way over cooked. She took my burger and brought me another. Which isn't a big deal...things happen. Sadly the second burger served was well done as well, but not as dry. She came by and asked how it was, and I said it is the same as the other. Her reply was "sorry, I am just the server." I left it at that. It wasn't worth the effort to continue any conversation with her, or discuss this with mgmt. If you can't cook a burger the way you ask to have it prepared, why ask? I will be wary next time on what I order, or at least go into the pub lowering my expectations.

Yelp
Good beer - had chicken fingers and fried pickles. Have to have the fried pickles they are a house special and amazing! Beer is legit, give it a shot you won't be disappointed

Yelp
I've been here several times now, and I must say that my 3 star rating is based on an average between the food and the drinks. Food alone would get 2 stars, while drinks alone would get 5 stars. The food is blah, whatever bar food. Heavy, fried, salty stuff that tastes none too fresh. However, the beer and cider taps are great - tons of rotating stuff you won't find other places in the twin cities. Try the beer or cider flights - I always discover something new, and they change their selections up almost daily.
