Food is good, but I have gone 3 times and its been closed even though it says open on google.

A true Downey staple owned by a mom and pop. Fresh Peruvian rotisserie chicken cooked freshly every day. My wife and I have come here since we first lived in the area.

The chicken is delicious. The fries are very good. Good atmosphere. Fast service. 3 seating areas. Very well decorated. Free newspapers available. Had the best meal of my life. Recommend if you want to try peruvain food.

They always take forever , we called ahead and they said 30’min even took extra 10 More min and my order wasn’t ready and had to wait more , we have only 1 hour lunch and now we won’t be able to eat

It's always clean and the chicken is fresh and delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The reason I don't give 5 stars is the delay; they're always busy and I have to wait 25-45 minutes for an order. My best advice is to call your order in so you don't have to waist your time waiting for your order inside your car. Toyitos should hire more staff to not let their customers wait for so long.

Toyitos Chicken in Downey, California offers delicious chicken, and the staff is somewhat friendly. While I've had plenty of Peruvian roasted chicken before, I noticed this place slightly lacks the strong Peruvian spices I'm accustomed to – maybe they're aiming for a lighter flavor. Nevertheless, the chicken soup was excellent, and overall, it's a good place to enjoy a satisfying meal.

Move over pollo loco lol There's really no comparison. Just a joke. Anyway. Work buys me lunch every Friday. And todays choice was Toyitos. Peruvian chicken? Where have you been all my life lol it was a bit salty. But not too bad. I got a half chicken with rice and salad. It came with some salsa. That was too spicy for me. Salad was fresh. Crunchy. Good. Rice was perfect. It had its own flavor. Now the highlight was the chicken. So soft, flavorful and delicious. I ate the leg, thigh and wing. Saved the breast for dinner. I highly recommend this place. If I'm ever in the area, I'm definitely coming back. And I'm bringing friends. It was that good! I'll try their beans and fries next time. Hi, We recently tried going today and no one answered the phone. We live far away, and when we saw the website with the hours it said it was open. But when we arrived 40 minutes later, there was a paper on the door that said closed for maintenance. You guys should've posted an update with the hours on the website or on Google.

Went there because of a recommendation and it did not disappoint . I only picked up the chicken but that Ahi sauce is on point. Will be back to try other things.

The service is not what you want. It takes about an hour to get your food. If you have time to waste this will be time well spent waiting for your order. Plus they don't answer the phone to place your order ahead of time. Look for a different spot.

My wife and I decided try out Peruvian Rotisserie at Toyitos chicken in the city of Downey. We have try different kind of Rotisserie chicken from restaurants we have try Peruvian Rotisserie chicken from Peruvian restaurants. Toyitos chicken is small restaurant since covid all orders are take out and still continue serving that good Rotisserie chicken that everyone enjoy. We decided to get half chicken combo it comes with beans salad and tortillas also come with hot sauce very spicy. We brought home one taste of the chicken really tender,juicy cooked to perfection with season in chicken you will enjoy it. The bean are amazing good including the salad. We need to come back again.

Food was good, fries were good. That green sauce GOOD. Everything was good. We took it to go. It was too Hot in there to eat at the restaurant. We had all intentions of eating there. I was sweating just sitting there. They have an AC but they don't use it.

THE JUICIEST CHICKEN EVER This place deserves more starts than 5! Me and my family have been coming here since I was a little girl (I'm 23) and man the service and great taste really does not change. There isn't too many Peruvian places that get that Peruvian pollo a la brasa taste just right. Personally I don't like chicken breast because it's to try but the chicken breast from here is juicy and my favorite part is the salad that comes with it the sauce for the salad the vinaigrette is honestly amazing. El ají verde Is top tier! I wish nothing but success to this place because the deserve it! I hope to see them expand!

This small non-descript place serves up one of the most delicious and rotisserie chickens ever. The owner is a sweet tiny Japanese lady from Peru who speaks perfect Spanish.

This place has the best Chicken in town , I've tried other Peruvian places they could never top their Pollo a la Brasa taste is legit , the flavor and texture is always perfect . Their green ají is the best as well .

For now, they only allow take out orders. Wait was longer than expected. It took approximately 25 minutes to get our order and we only ordered chicken. I was told that today, July 28, is the celebration of Peruvian independence, so there was a whole lot of phone in orders. We only got to try their rotisserie chicken. $15. for the rotisserie chicken, a bit high for me. The flavor was good, and chicken was moist. The green sauce is what is really good . The green sauce made all the difference . Without the green sauce... I would just probably settle for costco rotisserie. Anyway, the staff are pretty nice. Place looks clean. From what I have seen, this place is practicing the precautions for preventing the spread of the covid virus.

Never did I imagine that I would be able to find another place that sold rotisserie chicken that could offer as much flavor and juiciness as Costco's rotisserie chicken. I was a bit skeptical coming here due to the contrast of the reviews, but much to my surprise, I enjoyed it here and can see why people would drive down here just to get the chicken. They have a lot of different meal combinations for all appetite levels. || L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G || -Located on the corner of Paramound Blvd. and Telegraph Rd. -Shares the same plaza as Lupita's Express & El Charro Taco Shop. -Parking lot is quite small, but doesn't seem to fill up. There aren't a lot of tables for indoor seating so most people just grab their food and go. || F O O D || For 2 people, we opted for a whole chicken + salad meal for $17.00 which is quite affordable in my opinion. Chicken - Seasoned really well. Even the meat without the skin was quite flavorful. I was surprised how tender and juicy the meat was. The meat would fall right off the bone which was convenient. Salad - It consists of shredded cabbage and lettuce, topped with slices of tomatoes. I'm not sure what kind of dressing they put on their salad, but it was light and refreshing. It's a great palate cleanser in between bites of chicken.

The rotisserie chicken was really good! Some of the best I've had in the area. Chicken was cooked perfectly and was not dry at all. I will definitely be coming back for the chicken.

First time here. The rotisserie chicken is excellent! Will definitely be back for that! However, was a bit disappointed in the yucca. It tasted good, but the portions were small, even for the 6 pieces they give you. They are cut like fries, to give you a better idea.

Staff is not friendly and they give you what they want instead of what you order. I got home to find dark meat instead of white meat which was what in requested on my order. I called and the lady simply said we give you what we have unless you specify. I was speechless. No apology, we made a mistake, we'll make it better next time. Nothing. Definitely won't be back there.

LOVE THIS CHICKEN. Japanese Peruvian family putting their family recipe for all of us to enjoy. Been enjoying this chicken since they opened. If you know anything about Peruvian Pollo a la brasa (rotisserie) I'm pretty sure you'll love this spot. Oh and try the Aji verde (green sauce)...bananas good

I've been looking for a good rotisserie chicken spot and found this place. I am so glad I gave it a shot. The chicken is so good and not dry at all. I got the 1/2 chicken and for my side I chose beans. The beans were delicious as well. Will definitely be coming back to this place.

The food is delicious but the service is terrible and since the pandemic they still refuse to open dine in. Sorry but I'm not driving 20 miles to take the food to go. I find it ridiculous that this location isn't open for dine in. When you ask when they say they don't know. It's March 2022! Open for dine in already!

This place is a must try! Toyitos Chicken is so good and tasty! I tried it for the first time today and I ordered Combo #3 (breast & wing + rice, fries and a side salad) this included a drink all for $10.45!! Not only is that a great lunch price but also the combo was very filling. If that wasn't enough, I ordered "Salchipapas" (famous Peruvian appetizer that comes with steak fries and sausage) [also very delicious]. As someone that always wants extra sauce, I appreciate that they bring out 4 whole containers with Ají (Peruvian hot sauce), mayonnaise (for the fries), ketchup and mustard. In addition to all the goodness of the food, the staff were super nice and helpful. Can't wait to go back!

As a Peruvian I definitely approve the chicken. Daniel is a long time family friend but bias aside, I had one Peruvian chicken place I thought was best but when I came here again. I was reminded why toyitos had the best I've had. Chicken and some papas is all you need. Service was nothing to complain about and it is a smaller family run shop. If you're Peruvian, there's many candies and newspapers from Peru so you can enjoy. 5/5

Don't go to this place!!!! Chicken looks and tasted like boil nothing like our pollo a la brasa. The girl even asked me : did you ask for pollo dorado?. Wtf what kind of question is that!!! I was born and raised in Peru if you ordered a pollo a la brasa you'll get the chicken doradito. This chicken was nothing close to doradito. Not worth it!! Son buenos para cobrar pero el producto no valió la pena

Yummmm! Might be the best rotisserie chicken I've ever had. It was soooooo flavorful! We ordered the whole chicken with rice, beans, and fries. I really liked their beans! We got creative and picked up some tortillas and made our own salsa at home to make tacos :) and it might've been one of the best meals we've had! Oh, can't forget to comment on the aji sauce. Bomb!

This hidden gem in my neighborhood has been serving great quality Peruvian food for a few years now. Their menu does not have much of a selection but everything they have is excellent! The Peruvian style roasted chicken is top notch. The chicken soup "aguadito de pollo" is my all time favorites. Salad and fries are always served fresh--all for reasonable pricing. Although this place is small with only a couple of tables inside (temp closed due to Covid), its main operation focuses on take-out, thus, it gets busy during lunch and dinner times. My only issue about this place is when I ordered over the phone, they don't actually fill your order until you get there (probably for good reasons). So when you come to pick up your meal, you could wait almost the same amount of time as if you were walking in. The owner is always nice and even helpful when I thought I lost my phone. I actually left it at home, but she's gone out of her way to help me find it. A plus in my book! Highly recommended!

Very good fast food Peruvian style chicken. The menu is nice, roasted chicken and unsalted fries (which I prefer to add salt to my liking), fried plantains, beans, salad, and rice. The only downside is aji sauce isn't as tasty or spicy as it should be, it's just okay and this is very important for Peruvian dishes. If you want a quick, fault price meal, this is a good spot.

I cannot Believe this place I went to get some chicken and considering the very touchy health situation we're going through, you would think they would be a little bit more careful Healthwise I saw the cook preparing my chicken with no mask sweating and touching everything without any protection only one glove. I love their food but this is too much I ask the cashier why is the cook without any protection and she JUST REPLY HE ISN'T Sick Like if she's an expert on who can be sick or not Regardless we're dealing with the general public And one person specially that cook can get many people sick, if she happens to be wrong about him being not being sick... Only tried this place because family came from out of town and wanted pollo a la brasa. Placed an order for 2 chickens with sides, wait time was over an hour,price was ridiculous $70+

One word "MOIST" ! This chicken is so moist and tender. Just need a lil more seasoning internally or in the skin and it will be the best chicken ever made in the entire earth.

Horrible seating and service. I came here so excited and there were no seats or tables, the place is small and had like 6-7 tables total , if you are coming call ahead to see if they have space. We walked in and nobody said anything so we just walked out starving :/ im so dramatic. But to me a good employee would of said something like.... "If you would like to wait a tad bit we should have a table in a couple minutes. Or if you'd like we can make it to go and sometimes in that transition a table opens up." "No se preocupe amigo en un poco tiempo habrá una mesa disponible, y si gusta puede comprar para llevar y ala mejor se abre una mesa o sino de todos modos el pollo está tan bueno que no regresará aunque no hay mesas."

Need to update their hours. I called an hour before to place a order for my whole team at work because its someone's Bday. When i called they said no we close at 7PM not 8PM. All the worker could say is oh yeah sorry. Get more organized Toyitos!! You playin with ppl like this.

This place takes the term 'hole in the wall' to a whole new level. First off, it's TINY, holding only four 2-seater and one 4-seater table. There is a television suspended in one corner broadcasting a soccer game in Spanish. It is clean and orderly, but far from fancy. You order and pay at the counter. There are no printed menus; the menu options are posted on the wall (with pictures). Your options are quite simple, in spite of the fact there are 12 listed combos to choose from. This place serves chicken. Rotisserie chicken, Peruvian rotisserie chicken... so moist and beautifully seasoned it could change your life. I'm not joking. Basic as it seems, it is life changing fare. You can order it as a 1/4 chicken, 1/2 chicken, or whole chicken. You can order sides to go with it choosing from fries, salad, beans, rice, or tortillas. The combos are merely suggested combinations of sides. The people behind the counter were friendly and efficient, taking our order for a whole chicken with rice and beans sides and handing us our sodas (which came in the can with a straw) They brought out our chicken chopped into fourths on a real heavy duty plastic plate and our large sides in similar bowls with real metal flatware to eat with. They brought out a mysterious white sauce, a nondescript red sauce, and the traditional Peruvian green hot sauce. For those unfamiliar with this magical mystical green sauce, it makes EVERYTHING in life better, just by its mere existence. Dress up everything from plain white rice to chicken to lomo saltado with this spicy little Ambrose from heaven... But I digress. The chicken. Oh MYYYYYY, the chicken. The meat falls off the bone, melts in your mouth, and sends your tastebuds into orgasmic ecstasy. No customer restroom. Trust me, it's a small price to pay to experience this chicken. Or take your order to go and enjoy it where nobody can make you share it. We only managed to finish half our chicken, and took the rest home to Bakersfield. Even three days later the chicken was still incredibly moist and tasty. The BF says he'd be willing to drive back down to Los Angeles JUST to eat this chicken. I kid you not. Put Toyita's Chicken on your bucket list. You'll thank me.
