Google
Very kind staff and amazing selection! It is so hard to find toy stores in New England with quality plush, but they have several brands including Douglas, Living Nature, and Charlie Bears 🧸

Great selection, super nice staff. Lots of STEM stuff if that's what's you're looking. Lots of other stuff if not. If you're going to buy a toy, skip the big box store and support and local business. They probably have what you need and it won't take an hour like Wal Mart or Target.

I was bummed out after going to the toy store at the mall and Target because it was so messy and uncared for. I took my son to Toyland for the first time though and it was great!! The staff was very nice and helpful and led my son to all of his favorite things. Very organized and a good selection. Will definitely become my new go to spot for toys.

This place has been around since I was a kid! It's so fun going back with my toddler daughter now. The selection of toys is top notch and there are so many quality items and educational toys. Even though it's small we can easily lose an hour browsing around. It's my go-to shop for kids' birthdays and a fun afternoon excursion for my kid.

Amazing toy store. The range of offerings was almost unbelievable. All sorts of major name brands (Schleich, Bruder, Melissa and Doug, Lego, and on and on). All of the current popular toys, plus rare items you won't find at a big box. And perhaps the best thing was the staff. They clearly love kids, and they clearly understand the toys they sell. The ease with which each employee deeply described features and options for the toys felt like a throwback to a time long gone. Can't recommend highly enough.

Store manager is a doll .. so nice and helpful! Lovely little toy store with a nice variety of cool toys that you don’t find in your typical toy store.. great for kids that are picky about what kind of toys , games and more !

I can't say enough wonderful things about this magical store. Not only is there a large selection of toys, including educational ones, it feels as if there is something for everyone. They have a huge selection of puzzles and even have a small amount of jewelry. Lastly, there are no cheaply made products in the entire store. They have carefully chosen only to sell top quality merchandise at relatively reasonable prices.

Excellent selection and pricing. Was surprised by the amount of different quality items available. They carry Bruder vehicles and Lego along with plenty of others. Whole lot of fun to stop in and browse. Staff are great! Amazing place to find gifts and items locally.

Yelp
It's a cool store to visit, and the the staff was very friendly. Nonetheless with the advent of Amazon, and eBay most everything that was available is overpriced, and easily purchased for less elsewhere.

Yelp
First time in the store and I will never go back there again! The girl in the back of the store with BLUE hair was very rude and nasty. Trying to support local businesses but I have never been treated so badly before. I wonder how she treats children after all this is a toy store. She should get a job that does not involve people! Very disappointed!

Yelp
If you're a fan of kitschy, unusual toy stores with a TON of variety, this will be your heaven. I for one, fell in love with this place the moment I stepped in the door and was greeted by a colorful array of ceiling mobiles, puzzle games, and stuffed animals. For such a seemingly small place, it's AMAZING how much coolness is packed into every aisle. Not even New York's flagship Toys R Us store compares to this place. Sure, TRU is more popular and expansive, but they mostly carry brand-name merchandise, and the stereotypically-packaged "Girl Pink" and "Boy Blue" type of stuff. This place however, meshes the boy-girl stereotype beautifully. Sure, they still carry some generally "boy-only" and "girl-only" brands like Tonkas and Barbies, but it's mostly a wonderland of unique and cool games and toys that even adults can enjoy. The middle part of the store is dedicated to a surprisingly large array of toy model animals. I used to collect those things, so it was kinda fun to browse and point out which ones I already owned. I also enjoyed their puzzle and board game aisle, consisting of everything from popular stuff like Apples to Apples to lesser known handheld-puzzle games. They had a very nice collection of DIY models as well (and paints!), which was pleasantly surprising. Upon leaving I asked one of the clerks if they had a website. They don't, unfortunately. I would have loved to have been able to browse their merchandise online after returning to NY, but alas...the only way to enjoy this fantastic place is to physically walk through the door.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise when we walked in a small toys mot expecting much, but happy with what we saw! There is something for everyone here: puzzles, board games, puppets, plush, and also not your typical toys. My son was excited with the many rubix cube puzzles.

Yelp
I wish I could have lived near this store when I was a kid because everything there is something I would have liked. I never liked toys that were just designed to appeal to my parents (Disney). I liked and still like cool multicolored patterned marbles, Legos, animal figures, musical instruments, science kits, model building kits, ornate coloring books, semi-precious stones, and anything that teaches about nature and how things work. These are toys that kids can DO things with. These are the types of toys that helped me realize as toddler that I wanted to work in the arts and/or sciences. And yes, that is where my life led and I'm glad. My husband and I shop at Toyland for ourselves (no kids in the family) and pick up nostalgic fun gifts for other adults. I totally recommend checking out Toyland even if you don't know any kids (Toys For Tots knows some, hint, hint.)

Yelp
Local operation, unique and inspiring toys, high-quality merchandise and a super pleasant & knowledgeable staff! Moved to the area several years ago and found this tiny NH town has a great little toy store of its very own! It's located in the County Stores strip mall (everyone within 25 miles knows the County Stores - duh!). This is the place to find Playmobile, Creativity for Kids, ALEX, really nice dress up clothes & accessories, art & crafts for kids, board games galore, science experiment kits and high end baby toys. You can also find very high-end toys like Haba block sets, and organic stuffed animals for infants. It's not a big store and it's not fancy, but they sure do pack it in. In fact, it's insane the scope and variety offered by this tiny store. It's busting at the seams!! Their prices aren't the cheapest around (ie Walmart), but they are on par with Toys-R-Us and sometimes even cheaper. However, the quality of their merchandise is hugely better! So here's my frequent quandry: I need an inexpensive gift for a birthday party (typically 15 or more each year), I want something interesting and unique, but I don't want to drop $30 each time (that's $450/yr!!). I can go to Walmart and pray I don't totally embarrass myself as a complete cheapskate with a craptackular toy that will break upon opening, or go to Toyland and with the help of the staff, find the perfect gift for $15 or less! I hope the big box stores don't kill them any time soon, I would be devastated!! So shop local -- you'll feel good helping the community and you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
They have unique toys you wouldn't see at the normal stores, all of the staff is super helpful in finding exactly what you need!

Yelp
Meh. Underwhelmed. Prices are high for common stock items. Staff seems friendly and knowledgeable and they do have a few harder to find items though.

Yelp
Hidden Jewell. It's easy to miss this store unless you're looking for it. Wonderful selection and really helpful and nice help. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Expensive- but unique toy selection. If you go on one of their sale days- it's a great place! But know the going rates of the toy you seek. I was looking for a fun gift for my husband one year... And bought a sea monkey kit- only to later see it at another store and realize I had paid 3 times more!!! . I understand small businesses have to mark up more than box stores- but 3 times the price?! On another side- they have an amazing selection of Breyer Horses, Thomas Trains, and unique gift ideas! Just watch the prices.

Yelp
This store ROCKS. They have everything! It is dangerous though, you go in looking for something specific yet you come out with toys that bring back memories of your own childhood. They have a larger selection of playmobil than the playmobil website so we can spend hours dissecting this section of the store. You would think it would be $$$$ because it's a boutique store but it's pretty much on target or just cents more than the box stores. The difference is Toyland HAS a huge variety and the staff know so much about the product offerings. Shop local and give this place a try. You'll be glad you did.

Yelp
Yes their prices are higher than Walmart, but they aren't selling the cheaply made toys that Walmart sells. The staff is friendly and helpful. They always have good choices for purchases!

Yelp
If you grew up in the 70s, you'll probably enjoy this place. It has an old school independent toy store feel. Every shelf is packed with toys that you cannot buy at Toy's R Us or other corporate toy stores. It's definitely not a discount store, but I don't feel bad supporting a true alternative to the corporate toy store.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME! It has a crazy assortment of unusual and old school toys that remind me of my own childhood. The prices are a little steeper than some of their larger competitors but I think that's understandable since they're a little guy just trying to survive. I've popped in here a few times after grabbing breakfast next door and easily spent an hour and a half in there just looking at all the cool things. I will definitely go here next time I need a gift for one of my nieces or nephews.

Yelp
So maybe you've never been to Toyland. And you think to yourself, "Self, you are going to take your medicine and do your good deed for the day by shopping from a local, non-chain business." That's sort of how I felt when heading there to pick up one last Christmas gift earlier this week, I'll admit it. Well, boy was I humbled when I went inside. It was Toyland who was doing *me* the favor by having such an amazing store! It was jam-packed with fabulous stuff that you just can't find at a Toys R Us or Target. They belong in a completely different category. I could barely get down the aisle to the item I came in to purchase, because I kept stopping to check out cool things that caught my eye. Suddenly I had ideas for gifts beyond just Christmas, but upcoming birthdays too. I started pondering the invention of more holidays to have excuses to buy all this stuff! The store was so diverting that I almost forgot what I came in for. And here's the punchline. When I got to the item, it was actually 20% cheaper than the price I had found online at amazon.com! I'm sure that that's not true for most toys, but it proves that not everything is more expensive there. So Toyland gets 5 stars from me. And I will be back, next time *before* I shop elsewhere and pick out stuff that is not as cool. Sad face.

Yelp
So, I grew up a town over from Milford, and still go home to see my folks every couple months. Let me tell you, there is no other toy store as awesome as Toyland. NO OTHER. This place is chock full of the most fun, inventive, different toys - lots of them hard to find, and often well made. Yeah, there's a few things here you could get cheaper at walmart, but you're sure not going to find a selection at a chain store that equals this one, and on top of that, it's well staffed. They'll help you find the perfect toy for your favorite kid, even if that kid is you. I come home at Thanksgiving and do as much of my Christmas shopping here as I can before I head back to upstate NY. If you live near Milford, you should be shopping here!! Oh, and easy parking right out front in a big lot.
