The Best Restaurants and Bars in Portland’s Concordia Neighborhood - Eater Portland

"Some Portland ramen shops create ramen in subdued surroundings intended to focus the senses on the subtle flavors and textures of the meal. Then there’s Toyshop, which uses ramen as a launchpad for an iconoclastic multi-sensory party, with DJs, pinball, old-school arcade video games, projected movies, and pop culture-themed pop ups (see: a recent Buffy the Vampire Slayer event). Yet the food is good enough to not get completely lost in the sauce here, with house-made noodles, complex broths, and flavor-packed ramen concoctions like umami-rich kimchi shrimp ramen or the herbaceous clam and coconut ramen. The cocktails are even more daring, including see-it-to-believe-it combos like the gin and Gogurt mystery machine and Lego-shaped Jell-O shots." - Nathan Williams

17 Stellar Restaurants and Bars Along Killingsworth Street in Portland

"This new ramen and cocktail bar on Killingsworth’s talent-packed intersection with Northeast 30th is the ideal date night spot for those seeking something fun and low-stakes. The drinks are goofy in both name and composition — for example, the cocktails on draft are named after the Powerpuff Girls, made with peanut butter whiskey and Ancho Reyes — which offers plenty of conversation starters. The food menu can accommodate a wide range of diets, with an eclectic mix of ramens and bar snacks like katsu corn dogs. And while couples wait for their orders, they can entertain themselves by playing pinball or Baby Pac-Man. The bar is open late, as well, for those craving a bowl of spicy miso after midnight." - Nathan Williams

Delicious drinks and food, exceptional service, fun vibe! The chicken karaage is incredible - truly. I will probably dream about it. The Spicy Miso and Kimchi ramen were also both spectacular! I really enjoyed the frozen slushy drinks as well - specifically the Disco Barbie served in a disco ball cup!

Food was tasty and delicious! You have to try the chicken karaage, agedashi tofu, and spicy miso ramen. The bartender was very kind and helped us to determine which drinks would work well for our meal. It was lovely, however we couldn’t help by notice the wait staff making us feel rushed about finishing our food once it came out.

I recently met a couple of friends out here for a random late night meal. The place was pretty busy and there was a slight wait for a table. I didn't mind as they had some arcades for me to entertain myself with while waiting. The interior is pretty cool and had like this fun vibe to it. I ordered the spicy miso ramen along with some karaage and a pickle plate to share. The ramen was pretty flavorful and did its job. The karaage was pretty good with the sauce that it came out with. I didn't get drinks this time, but will try some next time.

Can’t say enough about this place! The ramen is soooo good. The spicy pork was our favorite but the vegetarian was quite tasty! Our favorite thing on the menu was the cabbage. I want it every day! There is a new chicken sandwich which was amazing… Now the cocktails!!! There are some slushees currently on the menu that are the perfect cool to complement the ramen spice. There is a version of a Campari that I really enjoyed and my husband’s Mezcal drink was really good. The atmosphere is just so fun! So many fun arcade games but also just a really awesome Japanese vibe. Will be coming here all the time!

It's a fun looking place with good ramen. We really enjoyed our meal and the service. If you finish the giant bowl of ramen, there's a fun surprise at the bottom of the bowl. I would go here again.

I LOVE THE VIBE HERE. The interior design of this ramen shop is so thoughtfully done, it really does feel like an immediate throwback upon entrance. It’s dimly lit with pinball machines and at the time I visited, Mean Girls was showing via projector on the wall. The space is small but cozy, with small tables and bar seating. The drink menu is wild, they offer so many types of drinks (the one offered in the instant ramen cup is my favorite!) — I’d definitely come here just to explore more of their bevvies list. I really wish that I could’ve liked the food more. The ramen just wasn’t it for me both with taste and presentation, but that’s okay because everything else about this place including the wonderful service is just out of this world.

Cute lil bar, decorated very well. Service was prompt and very nice. Food not worth the price, sadly. I had the spicy miso and it was too salty and smokey (like liquid smoke, in a bad way). Marinated egg was not that great either and the addition of ground pork was...odd. not spicy at all either. The carbonated green tea is literally just that, green tea that's bubbly. No sweetness or deep green tea flavor. Had one of their draft cocktails "bubbles", it was not very flavorful and more alcoholic than anything else. Overall, cute but maybe not worth the charm?
