Trabuxu Bistro

Due to my mumsnet disposition, I can’t quite make this place look as cool as it is. The food is impeccable, and the staff are super friendly and helpful at guiding you in your choices. Also very friendly and easy to order as a coeliac! Our server was Bokiii, who was absolutely class, and very patient with us four wine gals 🫶🏻

My partner and me, we were absolutely thrilled! First they gave us a nice table even dough it was all reserved. They gave us some appetizers - grilled bread with fresh paste made of beans, black olives, seasoned with garlic and pepper. Delicious! Main course was stunning - rabbit, for my lady, and veal for myself. I highly recommend it! Best regards to our waiter Boki🍻🥃🤙🏻

“Trabuxu” is an authentic Mediterranean Bistro in the center of Valletta with warm atmosphere, nice decor, delicious food and unique presentation. Friendly and welcoming staff to start the Maltese evening with Delicious food and great selection fine wines.

Brilliant little wine bar in Valletta. Great atmosphere and an excellent selection of local wines. Service was spot on. Andres really took the time to explain the platters and the wines, he really was very attentive. Angela had the cheese platter, I went for the meat platter — both were top quality and perfect with the wine. We tried a nice Maltese red wine and also a local sparkling, both excellent. Friendly staff, relaxed vibe, and you never feel rushed. Easily one of the best wine and food experiences we had in Valletta. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the food did not meet the expectations of the place. After an amazing experience at Trabuxu Wine Bar, we went to Trabuxu Bistro to continue the evening, but instead we ended up ruining it. We ordered homemade cappelletti and a bottle of water, as a starter of our dinner. Unfortunately, the dish had an unexpected, very strong fishy and salty taste, which completely spoiled the experience. After just two bites, my partner and I asked the waitress to cancel the dish and bring us the bill. We explained that it was hard to understand how that dish could have such a strong fishy taste. The waitress replied that it was not possible because the dish was vegetarian, which made us feel as though our concern was being dismissed. She tried to remove the dish from the bill and charge us only for the water. I asked her to charge the full price, as we had come for a good dining experience, not for a free meal. However, she insisted that she would not charge us for a dish we did not eat. I left €15 and we left the restaurant very disappointed, but unfortunately that was not the end of the experience. After a walk around Valletta, trying to get rid of the bad taste with chewing gum, a couple of hours later both my partner and I started feeling bloated, with stomach discomfort, frequent burping, and we end up vomiting in the Toilet. A truly disappointing experience.

Excellent dinner in this bistro with very attentive wait staff. The dishes served were delicious (fillet of beef, turbot, rabbit, etc.) and the wines, recommended by the waiter, paired perfectly with the food. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere. We will be back.

I am from Canada and I was told about this restaurant from a co-worker who had lived in Malta. It was a great recommendation as you could tell that the quality of food was top notch.

Excellent, home made pasta and the dessert was delicious. Friendly and helpful staff!
