This is genuinely some of the best beer I've EVER had. Staff was amazing, atmosphere is incredible and the vibes are just right. Perfect place to hang out with friends, especially outside on the patio. I love how inclusive they are & the emphasis they put on their community :)

I dig this place. There was a Kellerbier on tap, and although not my go-to style, this beer was excellent! I also enjoyed the sour and the Bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with vanilla. This weekend I was supporting queer, women and black owned breweries. Cheers! 🍻

Trace is a brewery that not only offers a fantastic product, but always a warm and welcoming experience. My husband and I live right outside of Philadelphia and ALWAYS make it a point to stop at Trace when we're back in the area visiting family. Em is an absolute gem who provided us with a 10/10 experience. Very knowledgeable & welcoming. We always look forward to our next trip back to Pitt to be able to bring some of Trace back home to share!

2nd year catering a Holiday Party here. When I came in to clean up this morning, I was offered a cup of coffee, which I gladly accepted. He asked what kind of coffee I liked, he asked a few questions about my preference and I went about finishing my cleanup. On in my way out we chatted a little bit about the different kinds of beers offered and he handed me a cup of the most delicious cup of mocha coffee I ever tasted in my life. Thank you made Em, you truley made my day with that perfectly crafted cup of love.

3.5/5 Service 3/5 tried to talk with staff felt like i was a burden and there was only one other patron there. Drinks 3.75/5 pretty good offerings above average. Atmosphere 4.5/5 cool building nice patio intimate fireplace. Warm and cozy feeling. We parked on the street but might be tough if they get busy dunno if there's much available locally? Overall I'd go here again and recommend it if someone was in the area and looking to try something new. Don't know that I'll be going out of my way to return.

Leery at first, but, now, totally sold on breakfast combo of bagels and beer here. Phat Bagel pop-up was a jam, as were both the bock beer and the hazy—both textbook. I’ll be back.

Came too late for the cafe but the Bar Tender was nice enough to still get me a nitro cold brew which was good and the Schwarzbier was delicious. Atmosphere is great and welcoming

I was having a rough morning last week and got emotional while getting coffee. The owner noticed and generously offered me a coffee on the house. Thank you for your kindness, it truly made my day.

We had soo much fun at trivia night. The place was packed but everyone was having a good time. The beer was beer so if you like different types of beer you'll probably like it but I definitely recommend trivia night.

Trace has a nice selection of beers on tap. I like their sours on tap. They have a nice size bar area with lots of seating in and outdoor. Their outdoor seating is unique. The employees here are kind and helpful. They have food trucks that come to their location. They even have markets come in. I've been there twice now and both times they had booths up with local vendors. Cool touch!!

It seems like the staff actively tries to make you feel out of place. Also, management deletes poor reviews. Super unethical, creepy, and all around bad vibes.

During our visit to Pittsburgh, we found ourselves bussing around to explore the city. While we waited for our bus, we stopped at Trace. The beer list consisted of five or six beers, only one being an IPA. I asked the bartender if that was all the beers they had and he replied with a snarky attitude. I think it's fair to ask a brewery if they have more six beers available, but not to him. Despite that, I did order us a beer. It was fine, nothing great. I think I hated it more because of his poor attitude. He recognized that he was rude and came over to offer us a free can of beer to split - so gratious. We denied his offering because that's not how hospitality works. We weren't rude and definitely didn't deserve that response. I can't recommend this place based on that experience.

I've always loved Trace for their beer, coffees, great space for remote work and DJ events. This weekend I reserved some space for a party and they were excellent to work with. They were super responsive to emails to help me plan the event. They helped me identify what food truck would already be there so I could coordinate, reserved tables and coordinated with another local business for decoration delivery. The space was an excellent size for our party of 50-60 people. It was also enjoyed by people of all ages. Many of our family members (some seniors) commented on what a great place it was and how cool the vibe is at Trace. I also picked Trace because there is something for everyone there. We have a lot of non-beer drinkers in our family and each person found something to enjoy. Highly recommend Trace for any event.

Trace brewery is a welcoming place for everyone to grab a drink. The patio is awesome when the weather is nice. They also serve coffee during the mornings, if you need a morning pick me up.

Daniel is fantastic. He made out first experience at Trace so much fun. We will return because of how welcome he made us feel. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Went to the Formula 1 viewing at Trace for the first time, and I was so impressed. The event was extremely organized, the host was incredibly helpful and one of the best perks of all, they are dog friendly! When it starts getting colder usually I have to leave my furry friend behind, but places like Trace are incredible and when it comes to them tagging along. I love that it's a brewery with options besides beer. I got an Arsenal cider in the cutest glass, they also have a wide selection of wine and cocktails. Their rotating food truck selection is a nice addition, but if you don't love what's there that day you can bring outside food. Overall, their flexibility is unparalleled and I can't wait to go back!

Fives, fives, fives across the board!!! Came here for drag brunch and WOW did the Queen's bring it. So much love and positivity in the room, as well as really impressive acts from out of town and the Pittsburgh area. My expectations were surpassed and I've watched a fair number of drag shows. Just wow. If I lived here I'd be here every second Sunday. The staff here is so friendly and nice, I enjoyed my Lake Hour seltzer, the spicy bloody Mary was good, as well as the rhubarb fruited gose. Had delicious cheese steaks, wings, and fries from Streets on the Fly food truck. The wings were incredible and they make great fries, too.

Overall: love that it's a sister brewery to Remnant in Boston! Super wide variety of choices including beer, cocktails, NA options, etc. also the food truck that they brought in was high quality. Drinks: got a New England IPA that was incredibly full bodied and hazy. As someone who doesn't really like beer and IPAs this one didn't taste like dirt and was quite enjoyable. Also got a nitro brew to stay awake and you could tell they take their brewing seriously when the nitro also has a hoppy esq to it. Ambience/Decor/Service: super open space, super LGBTQ friendly (all gender bathrooms), plenty of tables indoor and outdoor, and rapid service at the counter.

A good brewery in a prime location. They have spacious indoor seating and an outside patio that's pet friendly and it's perfect for a nice day. They have food trucks just about everyday and they have a great variety in the rotation. I have had a few different beers here and they have all been average. I'm a big sour beer drinker and they only had one on the menu at the time. They do have good cocktails though too! Service staff is always friendly and quick to serve you! TLDR; Food/Drink - 4/5 Service - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5

Great location and a very neat use of space. I recommend the outdoor area for drinks and the roll top-looking benches that face the windows for coffee, catching up on emails or reading heady books on the inner workings of 19th century American presidential administrations. The service is good, too.

Someone was doing a "trivia with friends" event when we went. Looked like fun. Service was attentive at the bar. Local wine available (2 options only). Rotating food trucks.

Awesome brewery in a super cool area. Honestly, I had been looking forward to going here for some time before I finally did. Upon arriving there was a food truck sitting in front of the building which is always cool and I thought damn this building with the layout and art work is cold af and when we walked in the atmosphere was chill af too. I saw a lot of happy faces which is always a great sign, but truly that seems to be the norm in the general vicinity, my kind of people :D I truly enjoyed viewing the clientele while enjoying my brew as well as seeing the bartender serving with a super positive attitude, but unfortunately on the day we visited the power went out unexpectedly and we waited a good thirty minutes in the early evening in dim light so we could wait for them to figure it out to have more beers, but it seems they couldn't, so we departed for the next brewery. I am a master electrician and my gf said, Help them and I was like, I would but there would be a liability issue if I did. I couldn't believe the owner or owners weren't there in minutes to see what had happened, but nope, nothing! Just people not being able to buy beers because there was no way of being able to process cards or at least from ones like us who weren't locals it seemed and we didn't have cash or were given an option to pay otherwise. We were bummed tbh! I love this place and their beer selection is superb. Things happen I get it, but I recommend installing a generator so when people like us are in from out of town we can enjoy your wonderful brewery. Also, I'd have a contractor on speed dial just for things like this. If not for the power outage and not being able to enjoy more beers and smiles, this place is a solid five stars. Btw, We did purchase a couple of their glasses before the power went out and they happen to be two of my favorite to drink beer from now. I'll see you the next time, but have the lights on this time for that five star update ;) Sláinte

Went to Trace a week ago and enjoyed it. However, it was a Friday night and I didn't realize you needed reservations. I never thought you would need reservations at a brewery. It was pretty small inside and I tried to grab a table after some folks got up but the waitress said it was reserved. Our party of 10 was ready to go to another brewery that didn't require reservations when she came back and said they had a party not show up. We were able to locate to their private back room which ended up being awesome! I had 2 of the hazy IPAs. Sooo good! I would definitely order another. They had a food truck out front which was good to grab dinner. I would definitely come back but Im curious if there is a time that doesn't require reservations? That is more my style.

Very unassuming brewery located neatlrby a residential area. We enjoyed a few of their brews, the facility had plenty of seating, and the ambiance was very nice. Service was friendly, efficient, and very helpful...

Great brewery with a fantastic ambience. Beer is reasonably priced and delicious. They often have a food truck outside, which adds to the atmosphere and provides delicious eats. Great outdoor section for when the weather is nice as well. One of the best breweries in Pittsburgh.

Went a coffee run the brewery, how cool is that I had the iced americano, I THINK they were using RedHawks beans. It was nice and I really like their atmosphere.

I had a mixed bag experience at trace this past weekend. I went for what they advertised as a "halloween fall market" event, but there were only about three vendors crowded in the main bar room. I expected a lot more, so I was pretty disappointed. Nevertheless, we decided to stay & grab a drink since we were already there. I felt that the beers were just ok - nothing really stood out to me as very special. I'm not sure if they serve food regularly, but there was a food truck outside that some of my friends tried & said was decent. The atmosphere was cool at first, but when the sun went down they dimmed the lights so much it felt like I was in someone's basement with the lights out. I liked the fireplaces, though. Also, there is no table service & the bartenders were drinking behind the bar, so I would be nervous that we would take a while to get served if it had been busy. Overall, it's an ok brewery but I think there are better options around the city. Food: N/A Drinks: C+ Service: C+ Ambiance: B-

Have been here a few times with friends and also to a private event hosted here. Every time, the beer is amazing with several diff varieties to make anyone happy. My fave is the Schwarzbier! Staff is friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating options. The graffiti wall outside is pretty cool too! Have heard they have great coffee during the day but haven't made it over there yet for that - will have to check that out soon! They also put on great events with Wicked Skatewear, and while I'm not good enough at roller skating to do so while holding a beer, it's fun that events like that happen! Overall one of my fave breweries around. 10/10.

So I have been here twice and here is my take: Ambiance: 3. when it's nice, their outdoor area is super cool, lots of plants and nice spot to enjoy with friends. Last time I went it was colder so we sat inside. The lights are cool and I was excited about the fireplace, BUT there were a million flies all over the chairs. Not sure if someone spilled beer or what but it was so bad we ended up leaving. The tables seemed dirty too which was definitely a turn off. Beer selection: 3. They only had 3 options. Not much variety when we went but we liked what we tried. Gained points for being able to bring your own food (we stopped at bitter ends and brought sandwiches in). The coffee was good also. Service was not too friendly. I'd probably skip and try a different brewery next time.

So we came here for my birthday. It was my first time here and I wish that we would have had more time to spend at the brewery. But alas we had karaoke reservations across the street and we only spent about an hour here. But it was a fun hour. The space is super open so it didn't feel crowded even if we were inside. They have an outside area that was very pretty. They have kind of a tiered seating arrangement outside that felt like it would be nice to sit on and have a beer. There were a few tables out there also. Trace Brewing also has different food trucks outside (different ones throughout the weeks) since they don't do food. And that looked really fun. I like to get a few snacks and to sit and have a beer here. Everyone in my party had a ton of fun and everyone outside looks like they were having a great time. My one friend got me a mixed drink and it was delicious. I was really impressed that they had a mixed drink along with all the beer because a lot of breweries don't have different choices. I went with a mixed drink just because it was smaller than an entire beer since we did not have much time to spend there. I think that I would come again maybe during the weekday just because it did get crowded by the time that we left around 7:30. And I would want to sit outside once it started getting that crowded. Trace brewing also does collaborations with other brewers around the area and I really like that about them. I would definitely come here and bring people here again.

Interesting new brewery in Bloomfield. I was hoping for a few more styles of beer, but what they served was excellent. There is a food truck out front. The interior is an interesting space with lots of options for seating, including a cool courtyard. The staff was welcoming.

Trace is relatively new to the brewery scene in Pittsburgh, and they came in with a bang. But, run by a team of beer industry veterans, this was no surprise. Their head brewer has years of experience brewing beer, and you can tell by the flavor profiles of his brews. But what's especially fun about Trace is the experiential aspect -- while their classic styles are incredibly drinkable and delicious, they do a lot of experimentation with wild ales. You can taste foeder aged beers, wild-fermented brews, and more. It's a great way to get out of your comfort zone and taste something new! And, though beer is great, the vibe is even better. Trace serves coffee starting at 8 a.m., (beer comes later) which makes it a great place to work, read, or hang out midday. Their architecture is really interesting -- it's like a roof was put over two buildings, then ripped off to create their outdoor beer garden. (Next time you're there, I recommend looking around the different rooms/spaces in the building.) And, they've become an important face for their community, holding events and working with new food vendors, musicians, artists, and more. This brewery is a great spot for any local or visitor to check out. They regularly have food trucks out front and new beers cycling on and off tap!

I came to Trace for the first time and I was blown away. It's such a neat spot! There's a mix of indoor and outdoor. Beer and Coffee. The staff were super helpful. The space was kind of industrial-ish. I really liked it. It's also right in the heart of Garfield/Bloomfield, so the location is great. They also sometimes have food trucks parked outside so you can grab a bite to eat and head on into Trace for a drink. I'll definitely be back!

My friend and I were planning to attend an outdoor skating event in Bloomfield but unfortunately it was canceled due to the city's air quality. We noticed the food truck, Taqueria Pastorcito, outside Trace, and stopped by to grab some tacos. Not surprisingly based on my other reviews, I ordered the al pastor. They came plain with a pick your own toppings bar. While we waited for our tacos, we walked down the alleyway around the corner from the brewery to check out the latest mural work. Once in the brewery, bar service was quick and friendly! I ordered the Bloomfield Beach gose, which is a nod to the nearby city pool, and packed full of fruity pineapple, tangerine, and prickly pear flavors. Our visit coincided with trivia night at 7pm, so seating was extremely limited to a few wet and uneven tables outside. We had hoped to participate in trivia, but with being outside, unfortunately we couldn't hear the hostess. I think that Trace could add more temporary outdoor seating for weekday events like trivia, but also understand that they accommodate a variety of events i.e. rollerskating, drag brunches, etc. I caught a brief glimpse of the Coolship Room which features a beautiful brass chandelier, I would imagine it's a unique space.

Trace is a cool vibe hangout spot, ideal for small groups 4-8 persons. There is indoor seating but also outdoor which is very popular! The staff are helpful with menu recommendations and I even offered a sample of the beer before purchasing a glass. I didn't try any food from Trace...it really seemed like the food truck on the street has a business partnership with Trace. Location is easy to get too...not the best for parking. Overall great place.

Great brewery with ample space inside and outside and they have a great selection of beers and sours. I also love that they are open early at 8am and you can stop by for a cup of coffee. They have great food truck varieties too! The only downside is the parking (all street or park in the Bloomfield neighborhood and walk over).

We've been coming to trace consistently since we discovered it. Their beer is top notch: great variety and I've never had one here that I didn't like. The service is always pleasant. It's typical brewery style where you order at the bar. They have an awesome patio for when the weather is good, and it's dog friendly! Their indoor seating is very nice too. One of the best breweries in the burgh!

We really like coming here to hang out. The inside is spacious with a huge bar. There's an outside courtyard/patio - dogs allowed. The coffee and beer are both always great. Different food trucks are scheduled out front, which is really convenient. Everyone working there is super friendly and nice.

Im so disappointed in Trace. I have been a big fan of their coffee and I drive out of my way to be a customer. Today I ordered a large oat latte. It was served in a small cup. Larger cups were available and I order 4 shots, so I requested the larger cup. I was told I can put my smaller drink in the larger cup, but they won't give me, or sell to me, more milk! I asked several times if this was a joke. I was told I could not buy more milk because it's not a drink on the menu. Ok Trace.

This is a really cool place to hang when it's not super crowded and you can actually sit and have a convo. I love the vibes here and how there actually is ample seating inside and outside. They usually have a food cart parked outside - we've been here for tacos and chicken sandwiches from Mr. Nick's. The chicken sandwich was soooo good! You order drinks inside from the counter and the menu is wide! They have their beers as well as Personal Day seltzers, a few cocktails on tap (the mojito was really good and strong), and some ciders too. They also usually have a DJ playing too. When there's a special event, it can get pretty loud and crowded and hard to find a seat. Parking does get hard around there too so if it's crowded, we park down by the beer store near there. During the day, they sell coffee and pastries.

Great service, great drinks, and great selection of food trucks! And if you go before 6 pm, parking isn't too hard to find.

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife and our twins. We both had the day off and so decided to head to Trace Brewing knowing that the weather was going to be nice and that they had an outdoor beer garden. So my wife took the kids to the beer garden while I went inside. Trace Brewing is located on Main St in Bloomfield. The inside consists of a bar that offers both beer and coffee and then they have a display case full of their food for the day. After scanning a QR code to bring up their menu and look at what they had on tap, I ordered us some beers. While I normally get samplers at breweries I have never been to before, Trace doesn't offer them. So I ended up ordering myself a Science Rules! (DIPA) and my wife an Agio (Italian Pilsner). Our beers were quickly ready and I headed outside with them. I tied my beer first and liked it quite a bit. It was a hop forward beer with a bit of fruit mixed in. At 8.2% it was pretty strong, but I would have been hard pressed to tell you that from its taste. After that I tried my wife's beer. It had a smooth start with a nice finishing flavor of hops with a bit of bitterness. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I enjoyed the beer garden and the ability to bring our twins and thought that the beer was good too. We just wish that they had a bit more of the pane e pronto food whenever we got there.

First time actually stopping in and trying the place. I've been by numerous times but couldn't find parking anywhere so I've left. This happened maybe 3-4 times. Today was the first time I actually found a street spot to park. Cool old building that has been repurposed. I like places like that. Had a food truck outside. Decent draft selection, I was hoping for a DIPA to sample but none were on tap. Place was fairly busy but I left as it was getting packed. The beer I tried was decent.

Came to Trace in the morning to do some work and relax. The space is perfect for this! I got an iced latte with oat milk and it was balanced and not too sweet. The staff here is personable and attentive and the atmosphere can't be beat whether you're sitting inside or out.

Trace is such a cool spot. They always have a great selection of beers. Their Hazy IPA's are awesome. One of the coolest parts of the brewery is the public graffiti wall in the alleyway. It is always changing and always has amazing local art being featured. I think it is great that they are so involved with the local Bloomfield community. There seems to be an event happening every weekend inside or outside of the brewery.

I have been meaning to try Trace brewing and was not disappointed. I meet a friend in a Tuesday night for a drink. The bartender was a not super friendly but it wasn't a big problem. There was also a little dog running around which I felt indifferent about but I know some people have strong opinions both ways. It was a great atmosphere - a very industrial feel. I also like that they had a wood burning fire place that made the whole place smell cozy. I got a sour beer that was really good! They also tend to have food trucks outside each night, which is fun! I definitely will be back in the summer to check out their patio.

Came here for a Sunday funday with friends and loved the vibe here! The beer selection was good, plus some great seltzers. The space is big with both inside and outside options. There's usually a food truck stationed outside for food. There was a DJ when we came and the music was such a good time! We'll definitely be back!

Visited here for a work retreat. Service was great. Started with an iced coffee and pastry then had a couple beers later in the day once off the clock. Both were very good. We had the group room (off the patio) reserved for most of the day, which was a great spot. We walked down to Baby Loves Tacos for lunch and brought it back--delicious and convenient. Parking was a nightmare until a colleague recommended the parking lot a could blocks off Liberty ($1/hr). Definitely recommend that rather than risk a 1-hr spot on the street.

What an interesting partially open space! I was there in the private dining room on a night when the main area and outside patio were doing trivia. The rum cocktail on tap was delightful. Dinner was excellent tacos from a food truck

This place was great knowledgeable staff. It was a hot day we sat outside with 2 children. There was plenty of umbrellas. We did not eat this time.

Trace is a great space to meet friends for a couple of beers! First of all, they are dog friendly!! They have a nice patio, as well as a big indoor space with tables and lounge chairs. Besides beer, they also offer cocktails on tap from Goodlander, local cider, seltzers, and wine- enough for everyone! They do not serve food, but they usually have a food truck parked out front. They have a great list of events at the taproom- dj, drag show, run club meet ups, holiday parties. It is definitely a brewery to check out!

Totally fine. It's a place in the neighborhood. It has beer, and good coffee. It has food trucks outside that are usually decent. It's nothing special, but conveniently located.

TRACE brewing is the place to go for craft beer and great cocktails. The bartender was absolutely incredible and so sweet! The vibe of this place is the real draw. Lots of young professionals and millennials after work. If the weather is nice, be sure to sit on the patio.

My party had a poor customer service experience here. We appreciated that we could reserve tables for 90 minutes... but it became really frustrating when the servers never came over to the table except for right after we were initially seated. With limited time, it was extremely disappointing to have to wait 40 minutes to get a server to come over to the table. We had to go inside to the bar twice to try and find our server, and ultimately ended up ordering drinks from another server we snagged as they were walking past. Two of our four party members were never even able to get water glasses. We finally received a 2nd round of drinks about 10 minutes prior to the end of the reservation, and an employee subsequently came over and basically kicked us out of our table. If you're going to have a time-based reservation system, prompt service should be assumed. It's a pretty space, but I don't plan on returning.
