Parasol’s Bar and Restaurant Loses Its Liquor License Over Unpaid Taxes - Eater New Orleans

"When the old Parasol’s owners sold the bar to the Hogans in 2010, former manager Jeff Carreras opened Irish pub Tracey’s down the street in response, generating a nice bit of Third Street drama and roast beef po-boy competitiveness." - Clair Lorell

Wow, my brother in law says he loves traceys and boy is he spot on. The ambiance is just perfect. Old cars you can sit in, checkered floors and stainless steel booths. Just awesome. I got the pastrami sandwich and it was perfect. The house made mustard was yummy! He swears by the chicken wrap and it also looked very good. I just ordered the banana cream pie and took a bite. WOW. Traceys nailed it. So perfect. Stop on by and tellem matt sent you. Hes a regular with a special pallet. Great job and well done. 👏

First time trying this place and will NOT be back. Long list of issues. First thing they did not have steak. Not a huge issue since I would not order a steak from a diner however many people do. Second My wife ordered the breakfast burrito, but no bell peppers and salsa. The waitress came back and told her that the bell peppers were already mixed in with the potatoes but she could have the hashbrowns instead. Having been a professional cook for the past 15 years I know That those potatoes are old. And then the server comes back and tells my wife that the salsa is not ready because the cook is just now starting it. You are a breakfast restaurant this is Sunday morning 9 o’clock how do you not have prep done? I ordered the hot mess with the over Easy eggs. My eggs were medium hard and my hashbrowns were undercooked. And my bacon tasted like it had been cooked the day before. Then the icing on the cake was when we were paying we noticed that the upside down cakes that they had in their pastry display had mold on them. I told the server that was cashing us out about it. He had a very nonchalant attitude towards it. we then waited outside to see how long it would take them to throw them away and after 10 minutes of them not throwing them away we decided to leave. And conclusion, the food was disappointing at best. The service was barely adequate, and after seeing the mold and their lack of concern over it, fill the food, safety and cleanliness of this restaurant is questionable at best. I highly advise people staying away from this establishment.

The place is beautifully decorated, like something you would visit at Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm. It is huge inside with a circular counter where you can sit and order a milkshake or a piece of pie, but the counter is zoned off now because of social distancing. The only complaint is the food wasn't that good. The breakfast food was okay, but it should have been much better. We came back the second time for lunch, and as we were waiting for our food, we saw a cockroach beneath our table. On top of that, there was a tiny bug in my orange juice, which was watered down and tasted stale.

Walked in and thought this is the cutest place ever. We had a great breakfast, my mom and I both ordered #1, it came with bacon or sausage, 2 egg's, hash browns, toast and a small glass of orange juice. The owner came over and chatted with us for a few mins, really nice guy. He noticed that I was taking pictures of the place, I couldn't help it, its such a cute place. We had a great service with a nice lady, she was so sweet. Go in yourself, sit down, and enjoy the atmosphere. You'll leave smiling, full, and happy.

Tracey's Diner is a hidden gem in Marysville! It will transport you to back to the 50s! I took my family on a rainy Saturday for diner and they had live music outside along with some venders. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was really nice. The food was absolutely delicious! They serve breakfast all day and have a good variety of meals to choose from. I can't wait to bring my family back to dine there again!

Morning breakfast is great. But dinner no go for me not happy with my order. Fun and Friendly 50's style diner in historic Marysville. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Disabled section in parking lot and in restaurant. Lots of parking. Large parties welcome. Children high chairs. Restrooms clean, as well as the restaurant. Sat. Very busy wait about 10 minutes give or take and service to receive your order between 10 to 20 minutes. Well worth it. All are welcomed to enjoy this excellent diner for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I guess I will try out dinner another time and give Tracy's Diner another chance. Well we went back for breakfast this past May month, and we we're very happy with our order.

The ambience is wonderful. The tribute wall to firefighters and Veterans of the armed services is great. The service was good. The food tasted good. Unfortunately when the soup came it was not hot it was warm and had to be reheated. The onion rings were over cooked very hard, dark ,dark, almost black. I got the fish sandwich and I wanted to try the desserts because they make them there but I was too full. I would give it a shot, like I say the food is great when properly prepared.

Google
Hubby and I had the Prime Rib for 2 @$30. Definitely worth it. Soup or salad, appetizer to share-we chose onion rings(excellent!), baked potato(very good) veggies and rolls/butter. We have had better prime rib at more expensive places($30 each) but, have also paid more for not as good. Veggies were broccoli and lesser amount of carrots. No seasoning. No butter on them. Kind of bland. Overall, we were happy . Will try something else next time and do an update.

Yelp
We've been here quite a few times! Good food... fun things to look at. Special Mustang car setting up as a table. Service recognition for military, fire and police. You sit feeling like you are in the 50's and 60's somewhat. I waitressed back in the 70's. It felt comfy for that feel as well. I don't think very many people will put any bad marks here. We will go back again .... And again!! Try it........ you'll like it!!

Yelp
Service is find. The food is good but the price is high for what you get. Be sure you check your bill before you leave a tip. Frequently it has already been added. This is true with a lot of places.

Caryl S.

Yelp
This was the worst French dip I've ever had. The meat was complete mush like canned meat or way over cooked who knows. And way too salty. Horrible. We could not eat it
google avatar

Jesse R.

Yelp
Good lunch filling, tea and diet dr. Pepper reasonable portions. Service was good too. Will try dinner and that will round out the selections and updates to follow

Bellena F.

Yelp
Amazing diner. The ambience, the food, the service, the price - Wonderful waitress. The French dip & Au Jus was one of the best I've ever had.

Deborah A.

Yelp
If you want watery pancakes uncooked or raw sausage for breakfast go here. Either this place has a lousy cook or they just know how to hate and choose who they serve. Never going back..

Yelp
I walked into the restaurant and only saw a group of Guys in a back room- looked like a bowling league party. That's all I saw nothing else: no people no servers no welcome signs. I left. No outside seating. ??

Yelp
Gosh, I wish I took pictures but I was with my family and decided to just enjoy our time together rather than take photos. Upon entering, we were amazed at the ambiance!! There were 50s red sports cars with red seats/tables in them. It was your typical classic 50s diner, black and white checkered floors, 50s music and it was clean!! The service was okay. It took a while to get our food (maybe 20 minutes) but we didn't mind especially when we are living in a time when we want everything out right away so our family just enjoyed doing crosswords in a free ambassador newspaper that was at the entrance. We all ordered cold sandwiches with fries/tater tots. The food was not bad. You could tell they are trying to cut costs by only providing only one type of bread and they ran out of one of their side options so the food could have been slightly better had there been more options. It's definitely a great place to check out at least once!!

Yelp
Rating for ambience, service and whole pie take-out. Didn't actually eat here sit-in. But, that looks to be a cool experience also. My chocolate cream pie was a huge hit with family in Oroville! Interior of restaurant really retro-cool. Wouldn't hesitate returning for dine-in. Prices for whole pie take-out quite reasonable, comparatively speaking. Can call ahead for pie + takeout orders. Thank you Tracey's.

Norma E.

Yelp
waited 25 minutes to be seated then another 60 minutes to get our food.. Understaffed equals poor service. Overpriced, too. Won't be back.

Yelp
Yikes. Came in for Sunday brunch. Husband ordered country fried steak, they were out. Ok. I ordered eggs Benedict. He ordered chicken and waffles. Wait person came back. No hollandaise sauce. No chicken. No regular steak. Time to find a new place.

Yelp
Husband and I stopped here on a road trip from Elk Grove to Colusa Casino. He had come across you on Yelp, sounded good and we didn't feel like going to a chain. Walked in, sat quickly, drinks ordered, great so far. When ready to order I ask for the six piece chicken strips basket. Oh we're out of chicken sorry. I don't have a quick backup so I ask for another minute. She comes back and I ask for the steak and eggs. Ohhh we're out of steak. I grew frustrated because this should've been told to us when we were sat so we weren't making decisions on what to order when it was all out, and she didn't bother to tell us what else they were out of when she told us they were out of chicken and I needed another minute to choose something else. I asked ok well what do you have? She asked like I'm insane, you want me to go through the whole menu? I asked what else are you out of and she said pastrami and some other items. Husband ordered a ham and cheese omelet with fruit-- because they were out of hashbrowns. But they still upcharged for the fruit. The omelet came out very small but tasty, and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The burger had zero taste, no juiciness to it, was very overdone. The fries desperately needed some salt. This meal was extremely mediocre and it wasn't even what I wanted to order. Very lame, we won't be choosing this place again. The fries were also very slimy and limp, I don't think cooked thoroughly even though they over did it on the burger. While finishing up a large table of six came in and I overheard the same issue. She came back to take orders, everything they asked for they were out of and one lady finally asked in frustration ok well whatcha got? If you're out of food, customers need to be informed when being seated. Or better yet, have enough you don't run out!

Yelp
I'm a Marysville native and used to love Tracey's. However, the last 3 times we have ordered from the restaurant have not been pleasant. A few housekeeping suggestions- please update your hours on social media and Yelp. Says the restaurant is open until 8, but that's a lie. Breakfast served all day? False. Called at 2:08p on a Sunday and wanted to order a Belgian waffle, to be told, "We stop serving breakfast at 2." The pandemic has hurt many small businesses in the area. But small businesses- please let us know all business updates so we can accommodate them, still support you, and avoid disappointment for customers.

Yelp
Ordered 2 piece chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn. The chicken pieces were very small. The mashed potatoes were instant. Yes, I said instant potatoes. They were disgusting. I even asked the waiter to ask the cook, yes cook, not a chef. A chef doesn't serve instant potatoes. Anyways, I asked him to ask the cook if they were instant. He said yes. 1 small tablespoon of gravy. 2 bites of corn. I'm not even sure why I'm giving it 1 star to be honest. I won't be returning, that's for sure.

Frank C.

Yelp
The decor is amazing. The food is also good. I sent pictures to 20 people amazed at the decor. Service was also good and fast.

Lisa K.

Yelp
Food was good but the service was very very slow. Ambiance was nice as always but need improve on the service. Not the first time we had slow service. Not sure we will be back
google avatar

Todd B.

Yelp
It's really too bad. My wife and I used to love going to Tracy's. It seems however that they have not recovered from the pandemic closure. The last two times we were there the service was very poor. I do not blame the server though. I have noticed there was only a single server working. There was not a host or cashier either so the solo server was having to cover those positions s as well. So unfortunately the quality of service has suffered. The first time we were there we stayed even though it too a combined hour to have our order taken and food delivered with no drink refills. The second time we walked out after being seated for 20 minutes with no one coming by to even ask what we wanted to drink. So I really hope things turn around. We will definitely be back, just not for a while.

Yelp
Look I dont like giving bad reviews. But it all started with the waitress not introducing her self and just asking what we wanted to eat. So my wife ordered the breakfast special a Chorezo scramble. Ok everyone in the world knows what a scramble is right? Onions Bell pepper chedder cheese, egg and a meat in this case Chorizo, with toast and hashbrowns. Well no bell pepper no onion just Egg, Chorizo and the most gross thing you could put on eggs Cheese Sauce... and just to make it worse burnt toast. Well my wife did not eat the Chorizo Shamble, just the hashbrowns and one slice of the burnt toast. I has the #2 it was good. I do like the sausage Patties they make. So when the bill came I asked if we had to pay for the Shamble and the server said she would ask. She came back and said her manager would not credit the grossness on the plate. I asked to speak with her. She did credit the bill for $4.10 basically the hashbrowns and one slice of burnt toast was $5.89. I don't think we will be back. I would have just not posted a review if they would have charged for a side of hashbrowns. I will say that the server asked if we wanted anything else but you never send food back or mess with the people handling your meal. If you watch that movie with Ryan Reynolds called Waiting you will know what I am talking about. PS. Like a good husband I gave my wife one of my sausage Patties.

Lynette Y.

Yelp
Cute interior, good food but very slow service. Took about 45 minutes to get our food.

Seth D.

Yelp
Decided to try this place again. We went once quite a while back for breakfast, and it was decent. Today, I tried to order a bacon burger. "Sorry we're out of bacon." Tried to order fried pickle chips. "We're out of those." OK, then I'll just order the mozzarella sticks. "We are out of those too." They ran out of ranch dressing and had to make some. The restaurant keeps running out of food from what I see in all these reviews. Literally, the only reason people come to your restaurant is to order a meal off your menu. Yet they are out of everything. Super poor management, and a less than nominal meal. We will not return to this restaurant. The only silver lining is the staff who waited on us were really nice and helpful.

Tina H.

Yelp
I thought I would give them another try after my last poor experience here. Worse than before. It took over a half hour to get what they called food. Ordered a egg white omelet with tomato's and cheese. Everything was overcook and not even close to being edible, Two bites and then I left. Will not be back.

Gregory H.

Yelp
They food is okay, but the service is horrible. The wait staff are slow and non responsive. They don't check on you and ignore requests. They have lost my business. I encourage others to go elsewhere.

Yelp
I have seen this place on my drives to savemart, and I decided to check them out on a sunday afternoon. I was met immediately upon entry, and seated at a booth. There were diners present, with only 1 host / server available. The hostess never introduced herself, never asked how I was, or had any care for pleasantries; just "how many are you?" and "are you ready to order?" She was precisely professional the entire visit. The atmosphere screamed diner... with plush red booths, checkered flooring, vintage signs and music playing from an age now extinct. I took a long while absorbing the menu, and my server was very patient with me, checking in on seated guests and helping new diners to their table in the meantime. I settled on a breakfast veggie omelet with hash browns, toast and coffee. The restaurant was very comfortable, and had a very relaxed and settling feel, like somewhere you can go to escape the modern world. I toured the area, looked at the signage and checked out the restroom. Everything was clean and on point. The food was delicious, no complaints at all. I would recommend opening the veggie omelet and adding some extra seasoning. Beyond that, i embraced every bite. It was loaded with veggies, and the toast was perfectly buttered. If diner is what you want, this place has got you covered. Just remember to allow for some extra time overall and you will not regret trying this place out. I don't give 5 stars too often, but this place deserved it just for the car on display. :)

Aaron R.

Yelp
Visited this place for the first time today. I LOVE 50 style diners. Usually the service is kind, generous, and accommodating. My experience was none of the above. My cousin and I will not be visiting this place again, which is pretty unfortunate, given we enjoyed the potential of this restaurant.

Sarah C.

Yelp
As I write this, we are 1 hour and 36 minutes into waiting for our food. We have been here many times over the last five years and the last 2-3 visits have been the same. Terrible service, terrible wait, mediocre food. The only reason we have waited this long is because we are promised it will only be another 10 minutes until the food comes out. We are starving and keep hoping the food will come out soon, but are yet again met with disappointment. Several tables around us have left without eating already. We haven't seen food come out of the kitchen in over an hour to serve anyone. They claim the cook is back there alone. That sucks, but then stop seating additional tables and serve the ones you have. They claim that they are working with 15 tickets back there, but there aren't even 15 people in the restaurant. All in all, the service sucks and the food isn't even good. Update: by the end of this review, we are one hour and 42 minutes into the wait. The waiter came out to tell the table behind us that the cook got heat stroke in the back and he (the server) took over cooking. I'm not sure this gets any worse. Update: 2 hours and 6 minutes later, we finally have food, albeit cooked by the server.

Yelp
Food was fine. Just fine. Nothing special but not bad. The service though, holy cow. Not good. Extremely slow and practically non-existent. Had lunch here a couple of days ago and it took them almost 15 minutes to bring a salad and sandwich. The restaurant was half-empty. Barely saw our waitress and when it was time to pay there were 6-7 people in line waiting to pay. No one at the register. At least 5 waitresses just meandering around. Not a good place to go if you're pressed for time. I gave them 3 stars because they're new and I understand it takes time to get into the flow of things. They need to hustle though. People won't give them many more chances. Update: hubby & I went back for breakfast an the service was much better. Still a bit slow but not bad. Food was good and the price was right. Glad to report they seem to have worked out most of the kinks!

Yelp
I phoned in order of 12 piece chicken family meal. The menu online and in the store had this meal to include 12 pieces of chicken, 2 sides, and a 2 liter soda. When I picked up the food I asked about getting the soda as stated on menu. I was told by cashier "We don't do that anymore." I was not offered a credit or an apology for being shorted the soda. I am unhappy with being deceived. The chicken is good but you should get all of what is stated on the menu.

Yelp
This is our second visit here in two weeks in a row. We had a very rude waitress last week and thought we would give this place another try this week and we had a different waitress this time but just as rude and coffee was never refilled after first cup. We will never return here. This is the most unfriendly and rude restaurant we have ever been to. They never check up on you to see if you need anything. Very unprofessional establishment. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Just a few tables, but it took a long time for our meals. Had requested English muffins, never got them. Other customers were yelling, one child screaming out of control. Food was reasonably priced, but it should have been because it was very mediocre. This was highly recommended, but ended up a real disappointment.
google avatar

Yelp
so this happened... ordered the boasted chicken dinner... to go... they packed it up and i got in my new truck and drove home ... turns out they put the mashed potatoes on top of the gravy... the gravy must have been 200 degrees . it melted the top and the potatoes pushed it out into the paper bag... not seeing this I reached to grab the bag and it exploded all over my truck and me ... HUGE MESS. HUGE ... tried to call the manager ... crickets.. thanks alot for the carelessness ... it really made my night ....

Yelp
This use to be one of our favorite places to go. The food was good and fair priced. Service was great. Not any more. I don't know what happened. It started out with slow service, but we still went because the food was good. Today just put and end to our visits. First, we stood a good 15 minutes to wait to be seated. There was a big group in the back and only a few other people in the main area. Why we had to wait? Who knows. I was excited to see the spaghetti on special. It's the only time they have it, when it's on special. I ordered the split pea soup. Talk about gross! I literally was eating baby food. Peas all mashed to baby food consistency. It was TOO thick. I could have eaten it with a fork. The spaghetti was only mediocre. They down sized the portions and increased the price. For $10, I could have gone to an Italian restaurant for spaghetti! Only seen the server once. Toward the end of our meal to see if we wanted dessert. All the prices have increased with less service. No more. I juat can't recommend this place anymore.

Jules V.

Yelp
Ordered French toast with a side of egg whites and sausage from this diner and wow I was very satisfied.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
Lunch was great! I ordered the clam chowder which was unusually thick but very tasty. I had heard great things about their broasted chicken so I decided to give it a try. I got the two piece meal with a leg and thigh. The menu stated that it came with corn bread which I was looking forward to, but when it arrived it had a bread roll instead. When asked about it, the server said "oh no, it doesn't come with corn bread". They really should update their menu if that's the case. Anyhow, the chicken was excellent. The thigh piece especially was very moist. My only complaint is that the seasoning could have been more flavorful, but from what I saw, their regular clientele would probably not appreciate that. The pies are amazing! I always get then chocolate but the key lime was also great. Overall there were a few shortcomings but I left satisfied. By the end of the work day I was craving the chicken again.

Yelp
I'm typically not a salad guy, but there BLT salad made me a believer in green protein flavor! I could not eat it fast enough! Julie's black bean burger was crisp and packed with spice and flavor! Best non-ground beef burger I have ever demolished! Service and interior design were both off the charts!

Yelp
I was in town filming my travel show, The American Landscape, and a local recommend Tracey's Diner. I love to ask locals where to eat rather than relying on chain restaurants. I lived in Yuba City/Beale AFB over thirty years ago and things have changed and definitely needed a local recommendation. We arrived at a slow time, so there where only a handful of people enjoying a meal. The 50's Diner theme was nice. It was nice to see Tracey's Diner honor veterans with a wall of photos. I mentioned my time at Beale AFB in the 80's to my waitress and she told me to send in a photo and they would post it. I haven't got around to that yet. I had the baby back ribs and they were great. I don't remember what everyone on the crew had to eat, but I do know everyone was full and enjoyed their meals. I do believe they gave me a Veterans discount as well. Not expected, but appreciated.

Yelp
This review is a little past due, but we were at Tracy's around 5:30 PM on 12/14/2018 and and had a pretty terrible experience. Myself, my daughter, and my fiancé had met my 2 stepsons and their stepdad for one of my stepsons birthday dinner, so we were a party of 6. This was only my second visit, and it was the stepdads first visit which he wasn't impressed with. The other adult in our party, my fiancé, has been to Tracy's many times and has never had this type of service. It wasn't very busy when we arrived. Maybe 5 tables of customers in the main area of the restaurant, but yet we were seated all of the up against the south wall of the restaurant. It took close to 30 minutes for someone to come and take our order. There was no problems with the actual food, but I had ordered a breakfast combo and had asked for the hashbrowns to be on he side in a Togo box, our waitress said that wasn't a problem. Our food took a little over 30 minutes to arrive. After we finished eating, my fiancé had went to find our waitress to ask if they did a birthday song and Sundae or something of the sort for kids birthdays and explained it was his sons 8th birthday. She's said yes so we waited. Maybe 10 minutes later half a dozen employees come over, sing happy birthday, and then walk off. We were a little surprise that they only offered a birthday song and would have had zero problem paying for a sundae. This really took me by surprise, since Tracy's markets their desserts so much and I've never been somewhere as a kid or with my kids for a birthday dinner that hasn't offered a small, complimentary birthday sundae. There were a few other things, excessive amount of time passing before being brought something we asked for like extra napkins. Also, my fiancé had ordered coffee and when it came time for a refill they actually took his cup and brought it back instead of bringing the coffee out like they had every time prior that he has been there, and like you would expect at a diner. That was very strange to him. Also, I never did get the side of hashbrowns from my order in a to go box and had forgotten until after we had left. All in all, we were there for over two hours and it definitely shouldn't have taken that long. There was some sort of employee meeting taking place and it seemed like everyone who was clocked in and working was having to participate in the meeting as well as work. We were pretty disappointed in this experience and I'm honestly not sure if we'll be back.

Yelp
Based on Yelps rating system I give Tracy's Diner 2 Stars ( Meh. I've experienced better ) We must have past this place a lot as we drive through Marysville , shopping at Save mart ETC. My wife found a $2.50 coupon ( WOW ! ) so we choose to celebrate Mothers day at Tracy's Diner 1) First impression = 3 Stars My wife and I along with our children enjoyed the old fashion decor and Games they had at the front door . We where impressed , seated right away because they did not seem busy ( No wait !) in a car style dinning table of our choice as we look over our menu they brought us water at our request didn't tell us about any specials even after we told them we where new here & left. Then took a really long time to ask if we where ready to order after she finally took our order the food took even a longer time to arrive considering they where not busy for the long wait to take our order & food to arrive and no introductory to specials I rate 3 stars in this category. 2) Bathroom, cleanliness & organization = 2 Stars I thought the men's urinals where considerable close together to be completely honest ! The Bathroom looked old, not sanitary as well as the restaurant could have been cleaner and more organized for example the specials menu should be closer to the front entrance so you could see what the specials are right when you walk in because I did not spot the specials chalk board until much later nor could I see it that clear from a far and the waitress never mentioned anything which would have made a significant difference in what we ordered. This was another big disappointment. 3) Pricing = 2 star This is really where we feel coming from the bay area where restaurants typically are higher priced because rents that most restaurants pay are outrages along with the overall cost of living. We found that the prices across all items where 1-4.00 higher than the typical restaurant in the bay area for example I ordered French Toast w/2 Strips of bacon ( Pictured ) that would normally cost 7.50 - 8.00 I paid 10.00 , we ordered kids menu items that would normally cost 3.50 - 4.50 and we paid 5.49 and my wife ordered Steak and eggs and paid 13.00 ( I later seen this on line for 11.95 at tracy's so ? ) Cost of Pie ( Per slice was 4.00 and the cost of whole pie was on average 17.00 and if you want whole pie to go they require 24 hour advanced notice ! based on the cost and advanced notice I would guess in saying they don't get a lot of whole pie request probably because of the high cost in our opinion we found pie's to be very expensive. We can go to Shari's and get whole pie for 11.95 on average and better. The Pie was just ok in taste nothing special and in my opinion not worth the cost . 4) Service & Family atmosphere = 2 stars Tracy's diner is a family friendly restaurant until I was informed they are opening a Bar adjacent to the restaurant and I think in my opinion is conflicting with the family style restaurant atmosphere and i believe in my opinion could be problematic . I also think the service could have been way better as compared to other places we have dined therefor I rate this category 2 stars In closing We found the average starting price of 10.00 plus and deserts especially whole pies to take home on the higher end along with the required 24 hr advance notice for whole pie to be a big disappointment. We normally would pay including 15% tip 27-35.00 and at Tracy's we paid 44.16 for breakfast items which on average typically are less expensive as compared to lunch or dinner items which we felt to be on the higher end for this type or restaurant which was surprising considering the area . therefore I rate Tracy's Diner 2 stars as we have experienced better.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a while now and today we stopped in for lunch. The decor was really cool, 50's themed - think Pulp Fiction and the $5 milkshakes scene, old vinyl records hanging, cut apart Mustang car for seating and loads of flair all over the walls. The restaurant was empty, just us and 2 other tables, service was slow, only one waitress on duty. food was quite disappointing. Hubby and I ordered patty melts, which arrived burnt- see photo. I doubt if we will go back in the future.

Yelp
8/30/2022 I took my family who were visiting from out of town to Tracey's Diner for lunch. I have been there many times and they always have done a fabulous job. I was absolutely humiliated and embarrassed today. The service was awful and the food was thrown an a plate just to get us out of there. 1) It took 1 hour 12 min to deliver the food order. Only after and hour and I asked what was going on... The waitress told me "It would be out soon, there was only one chef there and he had a huge order in front of us". There was not a single other guest in the restaurant! She and what appeared the be a suppler of some kind did have time to stand around and talk for most of the hour. 2) My Cousin ordered a Ruben Sandwich with horseradish sauce on the side. Only after delivering the order, was she told "We don't have Horseradish, we don't use the stuff". She was my guest and was served 8 minutes after everyone else. I was so embarrassed. 3) My order was supped to come with "a side of macaroni salad", instead I received a very old bowl of mac and cheese, it had to be in the fridge for some time because the surface was dried out and a dark orange, I put a fork in it and removed the entire contents of the bowl with a single lift! 4) My wife loves there egg salad sandwiches, they come just full of egg salad moist and delicious. Today she got the sandwich with barely a Tablespoon on egg salad. There was so little on the sandwich that you had to remove the bread to find it! No exaggeration! 5) When were mostly finished, the waitress came to the table and indicated she would like payment so she could "lose out". Then after I paid the tab, we were told to leave because she wanted to close up. Hey we would have been long out of there of the service was "up to par". Quick note to the owner... Your personal problems are NOT MY PROBLEM. You need a serious sit down with the employees that were there (I was about to say working, but I would be wrong) on 8/30 between 1 and 2:30 pm. You lost a regular, local customer for good.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't found this until now! This location is a sister to Linda's soda bar in Yuba so you can expect the same style, but newer. It's still rather unknown & hidden so during the weekdays this place is extremely inviting with no crowd. The food is excellent diner food & easily accessible. Breakfast does switch to lunch & they serve pies. With a large open floor, this is great to plan events!

Yelp
Appetizer almost burnt with a funny aftertaste. Meal was ok.. not memorable or great for the cost but not bad. I had the French toast so maybe they have better things on their menu. Key Lime pie was the saving grace it was freaking delicious. Decor is less "50s diner" and more "American flag", which shouldn't be bad but literally everything was red white and blue, from tastful blue lights in the kitchen, to really tacky red white and blue star shaped balloons everywhere. I felt we were at a political rally for the tea party/Jefferson crowd (flyers in the front for both). Waitress was nice and attentive so 1 star for staff and 1 star for delicious pie.

Yelp
9 bucks for a waffle made with pancake mix? This place gives off the 50's diner theme and can't make scratch made waffles. It didn't even come with bacon or eggs. I thought they were going to charge me for the lemon in my water. Oh, well mark them off the list.

Yelp
Love Tracey's Diner. This place a off the beaten path, it's quaint, and everyone is friendly. The 50's style with the car in the middle of the diner only adds to Tracey's charm.

Yelp
I am updating my review, now that I have been to Tracey's many times and have tried more things from the menu. This place has become a favorite for us. We love the friendly service and the food is GREAT! Their breakfasts are probably some of the best in the Yuba-Sutter area. I often order the bacon and cheese omelet.....chock full of bacon, and always perfectly cooked...with toast and hash browns on the side. My husband's favorite is the broasted chicken, which they certainly do right. Crispy on the outside, with juicy meat inside. The chicken is served with the most amazing mashed potatoes you will ever try, a side of corn, a side salad, and bread. If you go for the Monday special, it's the best deal in town. On our most recent visit, I ended my meal with a slice of their fresh strawberry pie, and OMG. It was like I died and went to heaven! Best pie ever--if you see it on the menu, order it! You'll be glad you did.

Yelp
I do not like giving bad reviews to places but in this case, it is well deserved. My husband and I went in for dinner, we were seated quickly due to only four additional customers. We ordered ice tea with no lemon when we received our drinks they had lemon slices in them. About 15 minutes later they came back to take our order. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, my husband ordered the New York steak with a baked potato. We waited for well over an hour and twenty minutes for our food and not once did the staff come over to check on us. We then asked to get our order to go. Attached is the food that we received that looks like it was something out of the frozen food section at the store. When I looked up TV dinners, I believe I saw our dinners ordered. The food was cold and my husband did not get the baked potato that he ordered. In the end, I was saddened to see that a local business that I love supporting through bad times provides such a poor service and this sorry excuse for what they call a meal. I will not be returning to this place. Very disappointing...

Yelp
Wow! What a find Great food, great atmosphere, servers were friendly & fun... we could go on Rueben was made with marbled rye, blackberry cobbler that everyone at the table had to share and commented it was like "Mom used to make from fresh picked blackberries!" The kids sat at the counter, and everyone looked at all of the various nostalgia & memorabilia and just neat stuff. We'll be back!
