One of the nation’s oldest freestanding aviaries, this nonprofit blends conservation, keeper talks, and playful nature spaces across eight leafy acres. It’s routinely recommended by family travel editors and remains open year-round with seasonal evening hours in summer.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! If you’re a bird lover, animal lover, or need something to do on your afternoon I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tracy Aviary. We were able to spend a few hours here. The different exhibits were so exciting, especially being able to see so many birds up close and personal. There were so many different species. We opted to do the Flamingo experience where we got to feed flamingos. Eric was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He made us feel very comfortable. He also was able to offer recommendations for the rest of our trip which was greatly appreciated. The gift shop was great, large selection of items. I would hope for more magnet options but we were able to get one we were happy with. We definitely will be coming back next time we’re in Salt Lake City.

Personally, I am not a fan of birds...they scare me a little. But my friends visiting from Florida love birds! So we decided to go to the Aviary as a fun activity while they were in town. We brought my four month old who even found looking at the birds fascinating. The aviary had a lot to see. It was neat to see the birds there and they seemed well taken care of! I definitely recommend this as a fun place to visit in SLC.

Came here to see the Kea parrots, and was not disappointed! They were beautiful and really interesting, and we were lucky enough to have a staff member there to explain a lot of their biology and history to us. She was happy to answer questions for a bit after her demonstration, too. Super happy with the experience :) The whole aviary is set up in a really accessible, shaded, and populated kinda way. The staff was super friendly and prices weren't anything crazy.

This was a wonderful place to visit. Took us about 2 hours to explore the whole thing. The animals look well taken care of and the facilities were all clean and well kept. There were lots on interactive play structures and placed to sit. The variety of birds and fowls we saw were impressive. We loved the bird show so don't miss that when you go. It's a great place to bring small children!

Excellent Aviary (Bird Zoo) with a large variety of birds from all over the world. Fun and engaged employees/staff/volunteers. Bo Carr made sure we had a fabulous experience with each grandchild we've taken there. Be sure to get a Dole Whip icy treat and visit the gift store. Clean environment and fun for kids of all ages... 1-99!

An absolute hidden gem. This is one of my favorite spots in the city. One of the only freestanding, public aviaries in the entire country. They have so many bird species, a fabulous daily show, and an incredible variety of plants all through the garden. I get an annual pass every year. It's a great place to take a quiet walk. Fun for the family or for date night. Not to mention Dole Whip at the Birdfeeder cafe. Please support awesome little attractions like this. We want to keep things like this going for years to come. Consider picking up an annual pass. It's a cheap way to ensure that the aviary can support the birds as well as the people to take care of them.

Super fun aviary! The highlight of my visit was the scheduled show and demonstration - I highly recommend catching one of the daily shows. Very extensive variety of birds. The trees and landscaping make for an especially enjoyable visit. We had two 7 year olds who loved it - so very kid friendly.

I had so much fun there. :) It's a reasonable admission price. There's a wide variety of activities, even interactive ones with the birds (for an additional cost). A cafe has light refreshments, and a gift shop has souvenirs and snacks. :) I recommend bringing a bag with a bottle for water, a hat, and sunblock. There's also decent amount of benches along the paths. :) So many different kinds of birds! My favorites were the owls. 😊❤️🦉
