Trader Joe's

Quick checkout. 1st time at Trader Joes's. Most of the vegetable section was empty. I guess going 7pm was too late. Overall they have different things but I thought they were more affordable.

The cashier was friendly and polite, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the customers were a different story. From outside to inside, people were walking directly in front of others and stopping without saying “excuse me” or showing basic manners. It made the overall atmosphere feel uncomfortable. The vibe here is very different compared to the Trader Joe’s on Boston Road, where both the staff and the customers tend to be friendly and helpful. I hope the atmosphere improves, because it really makes a difference in the shopping experience.

I am writing to express my disappointment and discomfort regarding a recent experience at Trader Joe's that I found to be traumatic and unnecessary. Normally, I enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's, visiting 2 to 3 times a month and even using their products for my recipes. However, my last visit left me feeling discriminated against and uncomfortable. When I attempted to return 2 to 3 items that I had purchased for my mother, I encountered a manager, whose name I believe is Joe (his name started with a "J"), along with his coworker, Tyler. Instead of a simple return process, I was immediately questioned about my returns. What struck me as particularly troubling was that he reminded me of a return I made a year ago involving a bag of salad, as if he was trying to imply that I was a frequent returner. In an attempt to understand the situation better, I asked him about the return policy, wanting to read it myself, even though I was already familiar with it. The questioning felt targeted, and I couldn't shake the feeling that my brown skin and youthful appearance played a role in how I was being treated. I challenged him, asking whether he would have questioned someone else in the same way, and an employee in the store later confirmed that not everyone is subjected to this scrutiny during returns. This experience has left a lasting impact on me and has caused me to reconsider shopping at Trader Joe's, a place I once appreciated for its products and atmosphere. I believe that all customers deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of their appearance. I hope my feedback is taken seriously and leads to a more welcoming environment for all customers in the future.

Traders joes is a great place to shop. Great deals delicious food a variety. We love ther spaghetti sauces. Breads and cheeses.

Trader Joe’s Central Avenue, NY I want to start by saying I’ve shopped at many Trader Joe’s locations across the country California, Georgia, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, New Jersey, and New York. I’ve been a loyal Trader Joe’s customer for over 20 years. I currently live in Edgewater, NJ, and that location is excellent. However, my experience at the Central Avenue location today was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and it compelled me to write this review. I understand this store is small and often overcrowded that alone is not the issue. The issue is customer service. While in the produce section selecting grapes, I was standing directly in front of the display with grapes in my hand. An employee who was standing to my right and talking to another coworker stepped directly in front of me, forcing me to back up. I was left standing there confused, wondering what had just happened. I had to tap her on the shoulder and say, “Excuse me, you do see me standing here selecting grapes.” She brushed it off and continued talking to her coworker. In any retail environment, when a customer is actively shopping, employees are expected to step aside and allow the customer to finish. Customer service should always come first. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve noticed an unwelcoming attitude at this location. When I’m checking on my properties in New York, I occasionally stop here, and the staff consistently seems unhappy and disengaged very different from the positive, respectful atmosphere at the Edgewater store and other Trader Joe’s locations nationwide. This behavior came across as rude and disrespectful, and that is unacceptable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. During your morning huddles, it may be worth reminding staff that personal conversations should not interfere with customer service. Whatever happens before work should stay outside customers are the reason the store operates. I understand stocking and store operations, but employees should step aside for customers, just as they do at other Trader Joe’s locations. I truly hope this is addressed, because Trader Joe’s is known for much better than what I experienced today. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Fabulous deals on great products always and super helpful and kind staff too

We love our Trader Joe’s! It’s the reason we moved to Hartsdale! It gets a bit busy but it’s still much easier to access than a lot of other stores. The staff are wonderful and we love our fave items that we can only get here. We especially love the flowers - gorgeous and inexpensive. Nancy helped me out at the register today and she was very kind and efficient. Many thanks!

Good staff, typically well stocked. Store always kept clean and orderly. Produce and food pretty fresh (if you know TJs around NYC, sometimes can be hit or miss in terms of produce quality). This is a good location, I like it better than Scarsdale location eventhough its further for me to get to.

I like this Trader Joe's, it's very convenient and parking is not an issue. The employees are really nice, and go the extra mile if you don't see something that you're looking for. They will go in the back and bring it out for you. Love that! They also seem to be very well stocked and they're always replenishing in the frozen foods. The bread section is great, and I love the half baked bread that I rely on weekly. I also love the garden vegetable soup, and the frozen Indian food is terrific.

Trader Joes no matter where I go will always have my heart. This day it was super crowded. The line still moves quickly and efficiently. I still found every item I went in for. Store was being stocked up that day as well. The people are always pleasant. I like to think Traders and Chick fil A train their people on customer service so vigilant. It was clean despite the clutter. Like I've never seen a spill of items on a trader joe shelf. They are so attentive to the ambiance of their store and are very well staffed. You can not beat the price point and quality.

Another pleasant visit to another Trader Joe's. The staff members are very friendly and willing to help you. The store is nicely organized, I always enjoy their ingenuity with the decor, and prices are reasonable. Don't hesitate to stop into the Hartsdale Trader Joe's. You'll enjoy a pleasant shopping experience and leave with great products.

This is a nice, smaller Trader Joe's, conveniently located along Central Ave near many other retail centers. On the weekends, after about 10am, it becomes very busy and can be difficult to navigate around the aisles with a cart. I recommend coming early in the morning on weekends or during the week, if possible. On weekends, I find that there are usually some of my staples out of stock, especially in the frozen section. In particular, ice cream, frozen fruits, and frozen entrees are sometimes in short supply. The staff at this location are very friendly and they always have multiple cash registers open, so you won't have to wait too long to check out!

Cashiers at this Trader Joe's have been awesome except for today. Clearly this person was not in a mood to handle my purchases and threw them towards me. Bad experience today.

Very nice store. Excellent produce at very good prices. People on the floor are very nice and helpful. The cashiers are great. Store is clean and well stocked. 4 stars, not 5 only because the selection is very limited on certain item groups. But for produce, dairy, and baked goods, it's a home run.

It's ok great products but small place I wish I could find a Trader Joe's that was larger

I love Trader Joes they have great prices, great products and all of the food is fresh always fresh,fresh. My only suggestion is avoid coming here on weekends. This store is always full with Customers. They expanded the parking lit but they should have expanded the store itself, this location is small and gets packed quickly,, however, the custard very polite and respectful. Ive never had a bad experience here. The workers are professional and helpful. There's always someone around to help. They are also prompt to restock

This review is strictly in regards to the staff not addressing animals in the store. I have no idea why anyone thinks a pet/non-service animal should be allowed in a grocery store. Dogs are in shopping carts, walking around the store, and on more than one occasion, not leashed. The entire produce aisle has few items that are in a container, free range for the pets to wander and touch. What about people that have allergies? Pets are around the store and dander flying. How clean are the carts after a dog has been sitting inside? Staff just smile and talk to the customers or each other as if nobody can see this. Just awful.

Ube season is here. Wish they had ube ice cream in stock. Sad life. Easy and quick to find what I wanted since it was purple. Can't wait to try their ube halaya when it is released! Updated: not a fan of either product (lack of ube flavor). Hopeful the ice cream doesn't disappoint next time.

Everyone loves Raymond. Same with Trader Joes! Everyone loves Trader Joes! Gets very busy on the weekends!

I typically shop in larchmont but happened to be in thr area. Consensus is the same- I seriously dislike this traders. I stopped in at 6 on a Friday eve and the following items were not available- this is now the 2nd time I stop in where several items on my list were unavailable Ground turkey Salmon Hash browns Frozen Broccoli Fruit / berry section was in a disarray

Great store very busy. Parking can be difficult because the store is so busy. Very friendly and helpful employees!! Because it's so busy they aren't always fully stocked with some popular items.

This review is just about the Produce (vegetables and fruits), not the staff. Haven't been here in a while, since I was in Fla. For a few months, and I won't be back. Walked in 10/11/2024, their fresh Produce, Veggies and Fruits looked pitiful with bare bins. There were no Cherry Tomatoes, Pink Lady Apples and Honey Crisp Apples (sold by the piece), and Organic Cucumbers were no where to be found. Honestly, the inside of this store is tired looking. We ended up going to Whole Foods in White Plains for the fruits and vegetables because they have a large selection. Also, you can tell that the Produce was fresh, not rotten. Trader Joe's does have cheaper prices compared to other markets in the area, so it pays to shop around for quality.

Yesterday was my first time in this location and I loved it just like I do all others locations. They have everything you need. All veggies and fruits are always fresh and so cheap. Their prices are the best and the quality of products you're taking home is unimaginable. The staff was so polite and super friendly, will definitely be back if I'm in the area and need groceries again. They did have a line outside in order to be able to limit the capacity but it went by way faster than I thought.

So any Trader Joe's I've been too is always a pleasant experience this one was no different. Plenty of parking clean well kept store . Lovely accommodating staff . Great delicious food.

Trader Joe's is a gem of a grocery store. They don't have the biggest selection but what they lack in quantity, they more than make up for in quality. Their prices are extremely reasonable. At this particular location, produce is not the best but their frozen food, condiments, and snacks are great. I especially love their habanero sauce, kettle corn, black pepper potato chips, and corn dippers. The cashiers and other employees are amazingly friendly and always find a way to brighten my day.

Great prices! Staff always nice. Good selection. Always clean and well designed. I go there in every city.

Another very good Trader Joe's outpost for fans like me. This one is small/ mid-sized and was crowded on a Saturday afternoon. (like all Trader Joe's) There's an outdoor parking lot which was also crowded but I found a spot near the entrance. It was crowded like a NYC TJs on the weekend. Maybe they all are; I just tend to to go to TJs in NYC. The staff here (like all Trader Joe's) are friendly, helpful and efficient. My go to items were in stock and the supply chain gremlins, kept at bay. My bill was more affordable than it would be at that high end supermarket I also frequent. With its vast organic items, Trader Joe's feels high end, workout the high end prices. Glad I stumbled upon this TJ's while shopping. I'd come back again if I were in the area.

I will start this by saying I am the biggest fan of Trader Joe's and their products. I've been living in the area for over 2 years and before I used to frequent the upper west side location (on Columbus Ave) as well as the Larchmont location when it was close to my job but this by far is one of the busiest locations that I've seen in Westchester. Staff is always pleasant, prices are great, and quality of products is still top. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is that there is opportunity for improvement although I'm not sure how management would solve. Oftentimes this location is incredibly busy, this Sunday it took over 10min to find a parking space so I guess, the lot is and isn't big enough at times. Products are often out of stock, actually almost always, starting as early as noon. Every time I've gone at least 3-4 of my primary products are out. When the store is busy, the lines don't move that quickly, often the middle of the store is congested and shoppers can't get through nor can they roam the aisles. I often have to leave my cart parked, go grab my items and then back. Out of all these I definitely think they can improve the check out experience when the store is at peak hours. And I know they restock as I see the staff doing it often but for some reason it doesn't feel like enough. Overall this TJs feels too small for the amount of shoppers that frequent this part of Westchester.

Trader Joe's has reached the point in its life cycle where it's pretty run of the mill. It's not exciting for most customers with it now being ubiquitous. One of it's main draws is it's customer service and it's crew which it pays above average to be helpful and chipper. Well, this location - not so much. Many of the staff look overworked, rundown, and dusty. And upon last visit there was a similar vibe with the store manager Luis. Had two small product returns. Both of which were products that were new and really stinkers. Asked for a courtesy return and Luis came to the register with a smile but under his breath made crude comments about the return to the team member - in front of us. I mean - as a store manager you should be professional enough to bite your tongue even if you feel like venting. Which is against policy because TJ's has always been 100% satisfaction guaranteed - and $6 in product is nothing compared to $15,000 spent annually. Thought this was a one off but it happened again on a separate occasion with a good friend, so couldn't have been just related to our experience. Suggest they do a brush-up with store management - and remind them that all kinds of customers deserve their respect and consideration.

Trader Joe's are known for great selection and prices but also a line as long as the aisles when you're ready to check out This location has really friendly and helpful staff and to our surprise, we waited less than 5 minutes to check out and it was the day before the super bowl. Really clean location and checkout was incredibly smooth

Great Store! Fruit is so fresh and there macadamia nuts were the best I've ever had. There bagged salad was the freshest I've bought. I highly recommend Trader Joe's in Scarsdale.

I used to love this TJ's but since COVID it has gone way downhill. They have zero idea what they are doing and their policy enforcements make no sense. It is now the WORST TJ's to go to. Every time I try to come there is a line down the ENTIRE shopping center to get in. I haven't seen a line like this in any supermarket through all of COVID. It's absolutely ridiculous. On top of that they won't pack your groceries for you if you bring your own bags. It makes ZERO sense. They have gloves on!! And they are touching groceries that everyone in the store has touched! But they won't even help pack your bags or put them in your cart because they have been in your home and they don't know who has been in your home, etc...You are working in a store with hundreds of people a day. If you're going to get exposed to COVID it's not going to be from my grocery bags. Today the cashier chatted with her coworker while I bagged my own stuff (which I like to do anyway) but when I'm squatting on the floor with my bags all over trying to separate my stuff and pack it and my items are rolling around and my bags are slumping over while I'm trying to put stuff in them and I'm reaching over you and your friend while you talk because you can't even hand me stuff that's when we have a problem. The checkout lines in this store are already absurd because of this bag policy and are made worse when a cashier can't even assist you a little bit.

I have been going to this location since April since Trader Joe's line in Manhattan is ridiculous. There was a time where they shut down one of the locations to clean and the other location was almost a 1.5 hour wait just to get in. The line here wasn't that bad and it moved along quickly. They remind you of the procedures while you are in line, and before you enter, they have a cart prepared that they wipe down with a cleaning wipe and also provide you a wipe and there is a hand sanitizer pump in the front of the store. This was the first location I saw that implemented the arrows to avoid crowds of people and to implement social distancing and flow of traffic. The staff here will ask you if you need help with something and will walk you over to an item if you are lost. This place always has fresh food and stocked with items and the way they assist you is wonderful. I only have had 1 experience where one cashier did not pack my food right. I was purchasing for another household and asked for 2 separate bags and the items were clearly separate in my cart for her to distinguish and once I left the store, the eggs I purchased were broken and the items were scattered. I had to repack it and luckily the person at the door saw my eggs and was willing to replace them for me and give me a new bag. Because of this service and the other outstanding visits, this is my favorite place so far. Good job!

I absolutely love coming to Trader Joe's. Food quality is great and the wide selection of Cheeses, is beyond me. Staff here is always super helpful. Wanted to buy Vanilla Unsweetened Almond Milk, but unfortunately, ran out. Asked a Sales Person, and she went out of her way to look for what I asked. No luck, though. But the fact that she went out of her way to stop what she was doing- I'll give you credit for that! Heads up- Trader Joe's gets pack. Aside from that, again... price is right and so is quality.

There is so much to like/love. Unique products, awesome, knowledgeable, friendly, polite, available staff. There are so many great things there that you can get there. Produce is always fresh, and some really good, unique baked goods. Excellence, pure excellence.

Ok so Trader Joes in general is just awesome. My favorite place to go grocery shopping, almost always find something new and exciting to try and most importantly for me, often times much more affordable than elsewhere for food. It got me through college and I'm grateful to have one near enough by to do most of my shopping here. This location specifically is pretty great I'd say. It's not the biggest of stores, but they recently expanded the store so it might be pretty close to the biggest one I know of (over in scarsdale). There's been occasions I've gone in, usually Sunday's I think, where some of the stock of certain sections is low, but I think that was mostly during the remodeling phase which I'm sure makes things a little more hectic in the store and also might be that they restock most things earlier in the week. Staff here has always been friendly and seem to be happy which does make me happier to shop there and support good work environments for others. Some things worth trying: Pepita Salsa if you want something a little different and a touch spicy. The chai concentrate in a little bottle is pretty darn good. The maple pop corn they have for autumn is dangerously delicious. Jackfruit "crab" cakes in the frozen isle is another favorite of mine for quick meals. I could go on but this review would get very long!

Where do I start? The staff is very friendly and they sometimes dish out free samples to hungry shoppers. I like coming here because the prices aren't so crazy for organic, good-for-u foods. The produce is fresh, they have some tasty meat alternatives that the company makes themselves, so it keeps the cost low. My sis bought some Soy Chorizo for me and I used it in a meatless paella. So good!! I ran out to buy some more for my pasta and meatless tomato sauce. Also got some Tofurkey Italian Sausages for my next meal of sausage and peppers. They have some well-priced vitamins and supplements that I like to get from time to time. And the cookies! Oh, my, the cookies! COOKIE LIST: (Seriously try them all!) Butter Almond Thins (great for gelato ice cream sandwiches) Almond Windmill Cookies (blast from the past) Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies (so good with coffee and not too sweet) Meyer Lemon Cookie Thins (come on, meyer lemon!!) Mexican Hot Cocoa Cookies (don't they sound like mouth love?) You can't go wrong with this place. I really wish this location had the wine section, also. I have heard that they have some awesome boxed wine...who knew?

I'm a fan of Trader Joe's - their business model is relatively simple (no sales, rewards cards, etc.), they products they sell are high quality, and the price is right. I'll be honest in saying I don't do heavy shopping here, but if I need to pick up a few quick items or browse I'll come here. I usually go to the TJ's in Mamaroneck, but I was on this side of Westchester last night and thought to stop in and pick up a few things. The store is actually very nice - super spacious with a lot of selection. Some of my favorite TJ's items are the non-healthy things like Jo-Jo's (better than Oreos), Speculoos cookies, and the sliced goats milk cheese. Of course there's the usual healthy/organic stuff, but I can't help but pick up a treat whenever I'm at a TJ's. The staff was on point and friendly - it was super busy because of the impending storm but my cashier was in the zone - bam! Overall, I may not be returning to this TJ's anytime soon, but I'm a fan of the company in general and will continue to patron them.

I've been here like 5 times and each time I've felt like I'm being watched by like 10 employees and then scrutinized again at the register. Today was the final straw. One of the senior employees ( I guess) watched me like a hawk until I made it to the register. She told the person that she'll check me out while first person just watched. It was extremely awkward and dare I say obvious discrimination. I will never come here again.

I've been shopping at this location since I moved to NY a couple of months ago. Selection is usually great and easy to find. However, almost every employee that I've interacted with seems to have an attitude. I've had interactions with multiple managers and regular employees, all of which had an attitude toward me. Keep in mind that none of these interactions were regarding something that was wrong; I was simply asking if they had an item in stock. If there were a different location nearby, I'd go there, but unfortunately, there isn't. The only exception is the young woman I seem to get at the cash register every time. She is kind every single time and goes out of her way to help customers. I'm not sure of her name but she's got black hair and glasses.

Great selection and nice staff, but it's small and can feel packed and get very hard to maneuver. I wish they had separate entrance/exit for better traffic flow. Additional parking in the back is good.

Way too small and crowded! Is it not possible to expand the store? I can't comfortably or reasonably shop without running into someone every 3 seconds. At least the store's products are good.

Always very crowded and these days sometimes some shelves are empty. But due to heavy customer traffic, products are almost always fresh and reliable (when you can find). Also I like the fact they carry some exotic product such as persimmons, pomegranate, satsuma yam, shiitake, shaved beef. Great for Asian cooking.

Trader Joes is an amazing grocery store. The food is reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly. Sometimes there is a line outside of the store due to covid but it moves pretty quickly.

The problem with this place is it's too small. They're always out of stock of food items. The left hand does not know what the right is doing. One person will tell you the foods in the back. I know the personal Taylor out of stock. I had to wait 20 minutes to be told after asking three people that they're out of items. This should not happen on a Saturday at 12.

I love Trader Joe's and this is the only location that is close to me so my girlfriend and I frequently shop here. However, the older male and female employees (who I assume were the managers) working at the customer service desk are definitely racist. We went to go pick up just a couple of items: two bags of salad and TJ's own dressing. We wander around looking at other items and come to the bread section which is right next to the customer service desk where the older male and female employee were in. I look up and the older male is staring directly at me as if I've stolen something. Feeling uncomfortable, we make our way to the check out lane. As I walk past them, I can feel their eyes follow us. When we get to the check out lane, I look up at the customer service hub and this time the older female was glaring at me! She quickly turned away when I caught her. It sucks that just because we aren't white we were being racially profiled. I won't ever step foot in this location again. I feel bad for any non-white people who "don't look the part" who come to this Trader Joe's location to be greeted by glares from those two employees.

Love this branch. They have all of the standard Trader Joe's crap, and there's never a mad panic here, like there was at the branch I used to go to on 72nd and Broadway. The staff is a bit maddening with their upbeat chattiness and gregarious demeanor (I seriously wanted to bite the cashiers lips off), but it's a small price to pay for such a pleasurable shopping experience.

Love this place but it is a journey from our home. Staff is the best, and the focus on fresh, organic and healthy choices is unparalleled. Even fresh horseradish!

I heart TJs. Reasons why: 1. Joe's O's! My favorite cereal...I actually like it better than Cheerios 2. Pizza Dough and sauce - excellent option to make pizza at home. I love the little tub of sauce they make, filled with alot of flavor and seasoning. 3. Enchilada sauce - droooool 4. Frozen Flatbread pizza - so good, but awful fat content 5. The free samples are a great way to try something new! 6. Their juices are pretty good...just watch the sugar content on some of them. Personal favs so far: sparkling limeade and carrot juice The people who work at this TJ are so friendly and always willing to help you if you're looking for something.

My reviews tend to be on the optimistic, cup half full side, because that's how I am about life. There are too many great things about Trader Joe's to be nit-picky or to post a negative review about them just to get your agenda noticed. Anyway earlier this year they completed their expansion of the store which is great because it seemed so cramped before. Also I see more and more organic and vegan choices, a big plus! Their prices remain very competitive. There are many times when I expect to pay another $20-$40 for my total, and have to put the money back in my pocket! Not to mention their cheap flowers and plants, which is always great in a pinch to make someone you know happy and show you remembered an anniversary, birthday or holiday like Valentine's day. Parking lot is much bigger than the Eastchester store, safer and less cramped. Anyway I'm a fan, will probably always be, nobody's perfect but they sure do try!

Are you kidding? What happened to the friendly-helpful employees? What happened to the sample coffee? What happened to the clean store? What happened to stocked shelves? This place is a disgrace to the name Trader Joe's. Is there a management team present? Obviously they have no experience in running a store. Shame on you.
