Is a Trader Joe’s Coming to Uptown New Orleans? | Eater New Orleans

"At 2537 Tulane Avenue in Mid-City, recently filed building permits show a store of identical size to the Uptown proposal — 13,000 square feet — and suggest that this other potential location could be completed later this year, though Trader Joe’s has not confirmed that site either." - Clair Lorell

Came for the grand opening. I have a great feeling about this store. The employees are very passionate and ready to help you. Store is decently sized, organized, and clean. Everything in stock! I’m so happy that this new location is here so we don’t have to go to Metairie. Also, an extra star because all of the plants and flowers looked healthy. I got a Monstera there for $12.99. You can’t beat that! Blessings and good luck to this new Trader Joe’s <3

I have loved Trader Joe’s since my first visit to the original store in Pasadena, CA. From the speciality products to great pricing, this is a must shop store. Take your time, walk around and be patient. The TJ’s culture is laid back 😎 Favorites: frozen fruit for smoothies; corn/flower tortillas; strawberry & white chocolate chip waffle/pancake mix. Great fresh vegetables.

Love it!! Parking was great. Store was spacious and great selections. Staff was polite and loved that it had security. Everything was clean and organized. They had samples on a random Thursday at 2pm which was bit unexpected but a good unexpected. Definitely will make more trips to Traders Joe's now that I do not have to fight the traffic in Metairie.

I love trader joe's! I drove all the way from Pascagoula Mississippi! Please build one in Gulfport! I got to this place half hour before they opened and there was a standing line when they opened the door. One of my co-workers just went there over the weekend he said it was packed he could barely find parking he had to drive around for 15 minutes. Trader Joe's is wonderful this location is wonderful. Please build one closer to me!

So glad they opened at this location. They are still stocking and the store is medium sized. I hope we have more options soon.

Trader Joe's is so awesome that I was willing to make to take the trip from gentilly to vets. And while the crowds were still intense, what you get for the price made it all worth it. Now that we have this mid city location, all of my complaints are gone. Love this location and am so grateful to have easy access to a nice grocery store! Trader joes has hooked it up and helped me out getting home from long night shifts more than I can count. I'd give them 10000000 stars if I could!!!

If there’s one thing, I know it’s that corporate does read these reviews. And I’m only leaving this to bring attention to corporate and other customers. I like the store and the products it sells. That being said, recently there was an incident in the Parking lot where I was exiting In my car and the Lot entrance was unlevel and my car was damaged Underneath. I reached out to the store and they promised that it would be followed up & handled .This has been over two months ago and I haven’t heard a word From corporate. When I call the store, I get a runaround . I Truly thought Trader Joe’s was better than this

Even on a Sunday after the Saints game, this place is pretty crowded but still manageable to navigate in a reasonable amount of time. Parking lot seemed small and pretty full but we got parking very easily. Staff are eager to help you and checkout was fast. A handful things like heavy cream were out of stock but most things seemed available. Love this location!

Yelp
Everyone that knows me, knows that I do not play behind TJs. Their snacks are top-tier. This location opened a month ago but I had not been because I wanted to give it a little time. Well today, that time was up! Upon entering the store, I was a little lost because the layout is not like the Metairie store. I took my precious time going down each aisle. Pros: Aisles at this location are a bit wider than Metairie. Employees are nice. Customers here actually say "excuse me." Parking lot is great. Security guards are at the door and near the cheeses. Cons: I think the prices for some items here are a little higher than Metairie. Metairie store has more items/ things I shop for but an employee told me that they were working on that. Overall, I am glad that TJs has decided to build more stores in our area and I am looking forward to the Uptown location. I hope this addition has eased the crowds at the Metairie location. Bring one to the Bestbank please .

Yelp
The store is clean, well organized, and fully stocked. Security was there, so I felt comfortable and safe the entire time. The employees were not friendly, they were not rude, but don't expect excited friendly behavior. Lol. Listen, I'm not that familiar with Trader Joe's, so I was a little skeptical about buying their oatmeal (because I really love oatmeal), but I tried it yesterday and baby...... it is DELICIOUS! Lol.

Yelp
New Orleans' very first Trader Joe's! What a treat! The parking lot is spacious with plenty of parking slots. At less than one week old, my shopping experience was very nice! The store was clean and generally well-stocked with several security guards on-site. I did see a couple of produce, refrigerated, and frozen items that looked like they needed to be replenished, but it was overall nicely stocked. I saw one crew member helping a customer, and the person who checked me out was super friendly! I will say, something about the store is lacking that Trader Joe's...sparkle, lol. I've tried to put my finger on it; it could be because the aisles are straight, it feels like your average grocery store. Maybe they just need to slant the aisles and turn the music up a bit...Get us in the mood to spend our money, lol. And have a couple more crew members out on the floor greeting customers and being available for questions...I believe it would enhance the shopping experience! The store is a wonderful addition to our community, and I hope it remains well-maintained.

Yelp
I wasn't completely sold on this new Trader Joe's location just yet, but I do love that it's the first one planted in New Orleans proper. For nearby residents, it's more convenient than driving to Metairie. I stopped by just three days after opening, and it showed-- an employee mentioned not everything had been stocked yet, and the shelves reflected that. The vibe felt a bit more Rouses than Trader Joe's, which caught me off guard. Still, I'm a loyal fan, and I'll definitely swing back once the "new store" kinks settle.
