New Orleans finally has a Trader Joe's of its very own. I'm thrilled that I no longer have to drive out to Metairie for my favorites, like their very affordable toasted sesame oil, quality low sodium soy sauce, sprouted tofu, fresh-squeezed OJ/tangerine juice, oat milk aaaaaand all that wine!
This one is a bit different and I like that they don't have those wacky angled aisles. I don't love that they don't section wine according to region, but I'll live. They were out of a few of my favorites but that's the TJs way and the good thing is, I won't have to drive to Metairie to get frozen fruit bars anymore (god, those are good but melt so quickly). On that note, a plea to TJs to stock sorbets again.
Ok, but the best part? I was shopping here at around 6pm and lo and behold the entire flower section was not bare. If you want fresh flowers in Metairie, you must get there at opening. It's kind of crazy.
The parking lot may not be as big as the one in Metairie, but we found a spot. Not sure 6pm is prime time, but I know that a half hour before closing is most certainly not, so that's when I'll be planning to do my shopping.
That TJs staff is as always, top tier. Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear hawaiian print shirts.
