Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite grocery stores! They have a great selection of unique and high-quality products at reasonable prices. The fresh produce, snacks, frozen meals, and seasonal items are always worth checking out. Staff is friendly, helpful, and the store is usually well-organized. A great place for grocery shopping!

Haven't been to many Trader Joe's to compare, but I LOVE this one. The cashiers/workers are extremely polite and sweet in this location. I was helped by cashier Grant yesterday, and he was very professional and nice. All the workers are so fast and efficient every time, despite a long line, it will fly by. The selections there are also great with very decent prices.

I love coming here whenever i can, a lot of good options and cheaper than Whole Foods. Also the staffs are always welcoming and friendly which makes it more convenient and memorable! Also i would say this is the best Trader’s Joe in NYC with bigger space and beautiful building.

This Trader Joe is one of the best supermarkets I've ever been to. First of all - The location is the most spectacular you'll ever see for a grocer. It's literally inside an iconic landmark bridge. It feels like you're back 100 years ago. The fact that they kept the vaulted ceilings exposed, is just peak. When family and friends are in town, I take them here, and they are always blown away. What bad about TJ? It's simply too popular. It gets really uncomfortable after 11am due to the crowds. But it just speaks to how great TJ is.

I am a regular shopper at Trader Joe’s at 59/1St in Manhattan. Went today a few hours before expected snow and it was packed. CHECKIN line was wrapped around the store but it moves very fast. TRJ knows how to get you paid fast and out the door. We bought just a few items today but we really like shopping here. If you cannot find anything, any staff person will usually take you right to the item. A really nice shopping experience for NYC where many store clerks are not friendly or just surly.

The most beautiful trader Joe's I've been to! The store was very well stocked, despite how busy it was. Very chaotic, but I think it's because I went on a Sunday afternoon!

This is one of the most spacious TJ’s locations I’ve been to, they were well stocked which is always a plus. The store is quite beautiful inside I just couldn’t take pictures because the store was super crowded. I love that TJ MAXX is next door, perfect location for two of my favorite stores.

Trader Joe's at this location is my favorite. I sure wish it was near 96th Street! It's a subway or bus ride hauling groceries. My daughter loves the food. I enjoyed buying greeting cards in the past. Now my daughter does the shopping. I'm going to try their Spinach Pie for dinner tonight. I'll let you know. I'm recommending TJ's at this location for spacious isles and quick check out! We always find what we want and we love their reusable shopping bags! I've got at least SIX!

This was my first time visiting this Trader Joe's location. I'll start with the positives: the line was short and moved quickly, and they did have some of the items I was looking for in stock, which I appreciated since I was short on time. Unfortunately, the experience was heavily overshadowed by an uncomfortable situation with a security guard who followed us around the store. It was very off-putting and honestly diminished the entire visit. If I hadn't been in a rush, I would have left my items right where I stood and walked out. Security should be focused on individuals who are actually stealing, not hovering over someone carrying a tiny bag where nothing could even be hidden. Because of that experience, it's unlikely I'll return to this location. I may consider trying a different Trader Joe's someday, but this visit left a very sour impression.

Conveniently located beside TJ Maxx in midtown Manhattan. Beautiful setting under a gorgeous bridge and near the water. Gorgeous subway station styled arch ceilings - it is one of the prettiest Trader Joe's I've been to. Service was curt and rushed - but it's NYC during the holidays.

Typically Trader Joes, but in the shadow of the 59th St Bridge. The frozen mixed mushrooms look promising for mushroom barley soup. For some other stuff. There was a guy on a ladder directing traffic on the cashiers line. Surprisingly efficient!

I'm so used to the small Trader Joe's at 93rd and 72nd that I don't know what to do with myself here. I usually rush in and out because I'm on my way home and can't carry much and because it's so darn crowded. Despite the crowds I can always find what I came for... unlike the smaller Joe's. To be honest the aisles wouldn't be nearly as crowded if the checkout line didn't snake thru nearly all of them. The cashiers work like machines so the line moves fast. If you're used to finishing up your shopping while on line, you can barely do it here because the line will zoom on without you. The cashier I got today, Adrian C., did the best job packing my bag I've seen in a long time. He should be in charge of training. The staff here keeps the store moving that's for sure. I came on a late afternoon on a Monday. I have no idea if this store is ever not crowded. They say 72nd is the busiest store but this one has to be a close second.

Finally found the time last Saturday to check out this branch since we've been only going to the UWS branches and Larchmont when we want to drive. I love it, still very crowded like any other branch but massive space and still easier to navigate! Plus literally being below the Queensboro bridge, how cool is that?! I do love the product layout and found all my favorite products. And of course that high ceiling! Lines for checkout were still dual and someone still announces the counter number ready for the next customer. Would happily come back when in the area. :) P.S Yep they don't have a lot of eggs. The struggle is real indeed.

Not my go-to Trader Joe's location, but the neighborhood in which it resides is worth an occasional trek. A view of the Queensboro Bridge & the Roosevelt Island Tram gliding overhead is a not-so-subtle reminder that you're in New York City. The building doesn't resemble a typical Trader Joe's; the vaulted ceiling is an architectural thing of beauty. It's one of the bigger stores with spacious aisles but it's also considerably more crowded. My peeps & I took note of the person whose job it is to stand on a ladder & call out which of the dozen check stands are free for the next paying customer. There isn't a need for this level of organization at the smaller stores I've been to. I bought a few snacks: Pink Lady Apple Chips, Chili Lime Dried Strawberries, & Chili & Garlic Cashews; all the makings of a caprese salad; a variety of their flavored sparking water; as well as strawberries & blueberries which weren't as ripe & sweet as I would've liked. I'm a fan no matter what city I'm in; this location happens to possess an energetic, slightly chaotic vibe & a unique structural design.

Love this Trader Joe's! The building is stunning, with soaring ceilings. It's all on one level, unlike West 72nd. Still crowded, but doesn't feel cramped. Selection was awesome, although they didn't have plums. We got the pesto chicken and scallopini potatoes, plus a few other things. It's a little too far for my mother to manage getting back to her apartment with groceries, so we always stock up when I visit. I don't think that they deliver? Not sure. Pleasant experience, as always. Cheerful, helpful employees, who actually know where things are located.

My favorite Trader Joe's location in New York City. Fabulous location with amazing view of the Roosevelt Island Tramway overhead while under the Queensboro Bridge. As with any Trader Joe's, expect friendly & courteous service with all staff workers on the floor. This particular location has plenty of check out stations which makes for a quick in and out shopping experience. I am obsessed with mostly any and all of the food selections offered, especially the mandarian orange chicken and the chicken fried rice. I mostly go to any and all Trader Joe's to stay stocked up on the Spicy Chai Latte power mix which is soooooo yummy!

Great Trader Joe's location under the Queensboro bridge. It is so spacious in comparison to other TJ locations! You can actually walk around and browse. I would avoid the evening rush hour (5 pm to 7 pm) and weekend because the lines get really long.

Besides the gorgeous location, this TJ under the Queensboro Bridge is also one of the most well-organized stores around. Everything is categorized intuitively so I never have to ask an employee where to find something. The aisles are spacious enough for TWO whole shopping carts (what a luxury) and the shelves are usually well stocked. I even found some Brazil Nut body scrub still on the shelves and those usually sell out within a month. This particular location is a little out of the way for me, so it's a treat to visit whenever I can. It's within walking distance to 59th/Lex (4/5/6) and 63th/Lex (F/Q) stations as well as the M15 bus.

As a California native who used to live a block away from the original Trader Joe's, this is a staple for grocery shopping. This Trader Joe's is great: it's large, it's conveniently located, the layout of the store is spacious. Staff are extremely friendly. They have a good selection and most items are in stock. The fruit and vegetables are high quality and very fresh. I'd highly recommend this Trader Joe's for grocery shopping needs in NY!!

One of the nicest and biggest Trader Joe's I have ever been in. I love Trader Joes and can always find something I need when I see one. Fairly new to the Upper East side, It's located on 59th street under the Queensboro Bridge. The inside is beautiful with high decorative ceilings. Same Trader Joes, with the same great food selection and the same prices. I love that about TJ's, the prices are the same at all of their stores. It gets busy, but the lines move quickly. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The only thing it's missing is the wine section.

I love this place. Mostly for the architecture under the bridge- it's wild. The employees I've dealt with have always been pretty great and friendly and we all have our favorite TJs goods... I've been waiting six months for the Chicken Taquitos that say "be back soon!" Then there's my soup dumplings, the truffle bbq that better come back, their garlic whip, salted & dark chocolate covered grahams, the shumai, the burrata prosciutto flatbread pizza thing, the cauliflower gnocchi... what else!? This is the only review I request group participation; what else d we love from Trader Joe's!? Leave comments here :)

Love coming to this Trader Joe's location under the queensboro bridge. It is so spacious in comparison to other TJ locations! You can actually walk around and browse. I have gone here during many times throughout the day however I recently went at 8pm at night which may I say was so much more leisurely to shop. And without lines to pay! Most times the lines here weave around the entire store! I love being able to walk through the aisles and look around without asking people to move because they were standing in line to pay! I love Tj seasoning section, the best deals. And also I always get the gluten free bread. Hubby loves the potato hash browns, tastes just like in McDonalds breakfast. And the orange juice and yogurts (dairy and cashew) are always a TJ staple in our home. Tip: go at night to minimize the lines.

I haven't been to this location since it was previously a different grocery store, but this is one of the most unique locations of any store I have been in - because it is underneath a bridge, with these crazy old sculptural ceilings that give this store an ambience like no other! Like my other experiences at NYC TJ's, it was crazy packed. However, the aisles were spacious enough to maneuver around, and I was able to find what I needed quickly and easily. I was not daunted by the huge checkout line, because I have faith in the Trader Joe's employees, management, and the priority on having a plan and system in place - and I was not disappointed! I pretty much sped through a long line, due to a person with a loud voice who stood on a stool at the juxtaposition of the line ending and the cashier wing beginning - and she called out cashier numbers like a pro- it was kind of amazing! considering those vaulted ceilings omg! Kudos to those who stand on stools shouting cashier numbers and pointing. Thank you! I needed a couple of snacks and beverages, nothing major, but this particular area is not one that has a lot of corner stores or bodegas, so I had trouble just finding a bottle of water, therefore: TJ's was perfect. A short walk from my stay and next door to TJMaxx, I found all the necessities here.

Trader Joe's is amazing! This was my first time visiting a TJ's in NYC and it was just like the one back home in VA. The only thing that was different was the sheer amount of people! It was very crowded and there were people colliding or trying to avoid colliding. Other than than, the products are the same, layout is consistent, full of healthy options, fresh produce, etc. The prices were higher and more expensive in comparison to VA prices. That was sort of astonishing. The check-out moved quickly. I noticed they had over 25 check-out lanes. I love TJ's in any state!!!

This is probably the worst run grocery store that I've ever been to. I walked in to buy one single clove of garlic and they wouldn't let me checkout. They tried rerouting me about 10 miles around the store in the most ambiguous dogshit route ever to try and checkout. I just set my clove of garlic on the ledge and tried to leave, but the girl who was I guess routing people grabbed my arm like I had committed a crime. Unbelievable excuse for a grocer.

Love this location, but can't stand shopping here anymore because of all the dogs. Call me old-fashioned (I have a pretty serious fear of dogs), but I don't think a grocery store should be crawling with dogs who are sniffing and licking all the products while their Botox-waxen owners dawdle in the middle of the aisle completely obliviously. The staff here actively encourages customers to bring their non-service dogs in and fawns over them at the registers, and it's just really gross and unsanitary. The layout here is great, but I just can't do it anymore - leave your pets at home, it makes the whole place feel disgusting.

Every time I leave a Trader Joe's I'm always happy not only because of the unbelievably inexpensive items in my bag but because of my positive expedite the cashiers it's so weird like how are people this friendly for no reason? I love it

I am SO excited this Trader Joe's finally opened! Nestled right under the Queensboro bridge is the new Trader Joe's location which was previously a Food Emporium. This location has plenty to choose from across vegetables, frozen ready made foods, meats/ seafood, and snacks. All prices are extremely reasonable considering this is NYC and seriously cheaper than the Whole Foods that is a few blocks away. I will definitely be back- this is a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

Beautiful location. However I have never waited in such a long Trader Joe's line in my life. They're great at keeping the line moving, but be warned you will be waiting in a very long line (if you're there during the weekend.)

I am officially a Trader Joe's shopper! We started coming during the summer and kept on coming! The location is convent and beautiful - almost seems wasted on a store. Better suited for a high end restaurant.... Anyhow, this store is well stocked and the staff is very friendly. It is also very clean. I can go into my favorite products but there are enough Facebook groups to cover this. Viva la Trader Joe's!

I normally goes to Trader Joe's at 23rd street. However, this Trader Joe's is underneath Roosevelt Island Tram bridge / Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge next to TJ Max. It is quite decent side. It was my first time visiting there. As I was grocery shopping, the food seems fresh (salad, fruits and veggies) which I normally buy at Trader Joe's. Most of the aisle were full stock and organize. The check out line was quick as usual like other Trader Joe's. Though it was getting crowded since it was in the evening. So it was expected. However, I'm happy that they open one close to 59th Lexington.

Great selection of GOOD gluten-free items, plus many items that are "Trader Joe" exclusives.

Love the TJ at 59th street! Lots of street parking available as well. Even on peak shopping days, the lines are constantly moving. When you go in the evening, lots of times items like garlic aren't stocked, which is the only drawback. Always go here to get snacks and healthy grocery. Workers always helping to bring cart out to the car. Great location!

Located below Queensboro Bridge on 59th and 1st Ave. Really good low prices. Friendly workers. Unlike other TJs, however, there are only 2 wine options. But there are liquor stores around. Everything else definitely full go here.

Love coming here most of the time. I had an issue with one of the employee's earlier in the day though. They were also out of lemons, which was kinda stupid. The vibe here is ok, they ask a lot of personal questions though. Don't feel a lot of that is necessary for customer engagement you know?

I have visited a few Trader Joe's in the city, looking for the least crowded one. It's impossible to find one that's not busy. However, this location is very spacious, so it's not uncomfortable to browse/shop here. It's well-stocked and appears to have more merchandise than the other stores. Trader Joe's are popular around here because they do have the best prices in the city. The line moves very quickly and service is usually friendly. Three stars almost four.

Great addition to the area! Another good option for groceries. Long overdue. Glad to see something opened up in this space. Close to trains, buses and the Roosevelt Island cable cars. Modern setup. So new and clean inside. Lines moves fast and not as long as the ones in midtown and Union Square. Friendly staff.

Heard about this location for a bit now but didn't know it was finally open. It's a beautiful location and loved that they kept almost all of the old feel and architecture on the inside. Other than the nice architecture, it's a typical Trader Joe's. Only issue is, most items weren't stocked or out of stock. Staff was a bit rude and not as helpful as other Trader Joe's.

I love how large this Trader Joe's is and how they're (for the most part) more stocked than all of the other Trader Joe's (Union square and Kip's bay, which for some reason is always out of food). Maybe it's because this one is so spacious and the high ceilings make it such a great atmosphere to grocery shop at. Staff is so friendly! Customer service is incredible no matter how busy and bustling this Trader Joe's gets! This is my favorite and my go-to grocery store - just wish there was one ACTUALLY on the upper east side and not right at the tip.

Wow what took me so long to discover the incredible selection of delicious and healthy choices of food at a half the cost of other supermarkets and right on the block. Everything is fresh and such a wide selection and right under the gorgeous bridge. What fun to shop here and lovely staff. It gets busy of course but they navigate you well and the lines move fast.

Spacious location in Midtown East / borderline UES! Fairly new. Overall, the staff is friendly and nice. Would of course recommend going at non-peak times. I'm grateful this is my local neighborhood location!

This location feels bigger than some of the other TJs in NYC. Same interesting and ever changing selection of products though! Lines haven't seemed as bad as the other stores but I'm sure it varies by time of day.

Wow! Really impressed with this new location! The high arched ceilings give it a nice open feeling. This might be the largest TJ's I've been to in the city. It's a little hidden under the bridge at 59th & 1st Ave, but look for the big red TJ MaXX sign right next to it and you'll see it. There's a fruit stand outside too. The store is very clean and organized. Staff was great too! A great edition to the east side!

Due to the thefts at the 14th and Ave A location Trader Joe's had added "Security" to patrol the stores. The Female security guard has it out for me whenever I shop here. Which I find odd as I'm not the only black male to shop at this location and is the only reason why she's following me around; something black people especially black men have to deal with everyday The first incident she followed me from aisle to aisle. I complained to management that what she was doing was unprofessional and is the anthesis of customer service Furthermore, I'm a former Trader Joe's employee of 5 years - #510. I had to follow certain people in the store myself and was told to not make them aware. I also spend thousands of dollars a month at this chain ( not that it should matter) The last time I was here she kept an eye on me as I was removing my bags from the cart (oooh how suspicious). Honestly I'd rather that they finally install cameras in the store rather than hire second rate, discriminating, inept guards I expected better from you TJ's

I was happy to have this store join the neighborhood, giving me the option of 4 grocery stores within a relatively short walk! They have a wide variety of items including many of the specialty products that Trader Joe's is known for. Prices are fair and often less than other stores. They are busy but handle the volume well, and the store always looks clean. Highly recommended!

Love this trader joe's! The staff are always super friendly and helpful and the produce is always fresh because the turnover is so fast. I also never realized that Trader Joe's looks so different on the inside with high ceilings and beautiful architecture as it's right under the queenboro bridge. Lines can be long on weekends, but it moves very fast and they are very efficient.

All hail Rafael Guastavino because this a gorgeous location and while many city grocery shopping experiences are subterranean or split-level you're shopping like a queen here. One star deduction is that in the first days of 2024, Trader Joe's completely gutted their beer department here and left only the scantest, least-inspired basic choices. I was told that people are shoplifting beer and that crackers sells better so now there is half an aisle of Carr's-like crackers replacing the beer aisle. To the managers who may be reading this- this isn't prohibition. Please realize what a heavy drinking neighborhood this store is based in. Prior to this store opening, Whole Foods was the "cheap" grocery store on the UES. Not kidding. For example a 4 pack of Talea beer goes for $16 at Trader Joes but $33 at the nearby beer focused bodega on the UES. This seems like an especially poor time of year (Super Bowl, coldest days of winter) to remove alcohol options from shelves. Please reconsider Trader Joes managers/corporate and bring back the beer.

Great Trader Joe's, but wow the lines are crazy. The selection is a little more than usual as well. It's hard to shop around the lines is all.

Easily one of the best supermarket experiences you'll ever have. I think it's safe to say most of us don't necessarily love grocery shopping. Most people want to get in and get out as fast as possible. That of course explains why Trader Joe's with their predominantly good quality and always dependable low prices tends to attract customers who often treat the experience as though it's every man for themselves. At this location, the more crowded it is the more intensely you'll feel that sense of overwhelm as people bang into you, push past you, reach for items directly in front of your face without so much as an excuse me. What more than saves it though, is a staff that is friendly, warm, kind, efficient, and genuinely happy to help. These folks are working on their feet nonstop and still manage to provide startingly terrific service. The store is clean, the architecture is magnificent, product is routinely being restocked, and you never have to go searching for an employee to help you. They're everywhere and in every department. They're knowledgable, happy to offer suggestions, and will give you their honest opinions about their favorite or least favorite products. Lines (particularly all day on Sunday and for much of Monday) can extend up and down every aisle yet they move swiftly because the staff has a system in place to keep it orderly despite some customers who seem to think there is no one else in the world but them lol! One of the things I love is that the staff actually stops when you ask a question to walk you to the item you're looking for (a rarity these days). They'll put items on hold for you, take back returned items simply if you didn't like them(!), and best of all they genuinely love where they work. You feel it when you walk in the door. Much of the time, I find that this positive environment that the employees create tends to rub off on the customers. It's both surprising and gratifying to see busy NYers and snooty Upper East Siders (get off your phones and take out your airpods!) actually treat one another with courtesy and kindness. Some even manage to put their grocery carts away! Overall, this store more than earns its numerous 5 star reviews. I would love to see the TJ's customers at this store behave with a greater sense of decency toward one another and toward the staff. When people don't treat things well, nice things tend to go away. The sheer number of positive reviews for this location makes it clear that this is a gem that should be valued. We're lucky to have this store. I love it.

I was very impressed with my 1st visit to this Trader Joe's location today. It's a quick walk from the last stop of the Q60 bus stop (coming from Queens). The isles are much wider then my usual to-go Trader Joe's locations (i.e. Soho or Chelsea location). The store was clean and organized. The staff was also helpful and friendly today. The store wasn't super packed when I got here at 11am and checkout was quick. I wonder how busy this place would get on other days of the week. I will drop by again if I'm in the area.

Oh wow, yeah, I love Trader Joe's. There's one next to the subway when I leave work and there's one in my 'hood, too. I buy specific things there, love their chicken, salmon, fruits and veggies, nice cheese selection. The people who work there are incredibly nice and helpful. Always a pleasure

First of all what's not to love about Trader Joe's? This locale is perfect. Spacious and grand with it's high beautifully tiled ceilings. A failed food emporium from a few years back this neighborhood needed Trader Joe's for a long time. Great inexpensive quality products. So you go to whole foods for some things, your local market for others, and Trader Joe's. Am a huge fan and so happy to have a location in my hood. My favorite is the pound plus Belgian chocolate bar with almonds $4.99. Just sayin'... Also great organic vanilla bean Greek yogurt for .99$ a cup. Ya can't go wrong!

Very crowded but worth the wait. Wait time wasn't bad but I normally never do lines. I like their assortment of flowers.
