More People Choose Whole Foods Over Trader Joe’s Thanks To Amazon Prime | Eater

"Known for an organic-leaning selection and generally lower prices compared with its rival before the acquisition, this specialty grocery chain was singled out by researchers as possibly losing shoppers to nearby locations of the Amazon-owned chain—especially where Prime discounts are stronger—though the measured shift was modest (the competitor’s share rose from 51% to 53% in the studied stores)." - Tim Forster

My first visit to a Trader Joe's and I was impressed. The store is inviting with beautiful flowers greeting you when you enter. I love the design of the aisles and the clarity of products. The snack aisle was my favorite with unique items I've never seen before. I recommend you give them a try especially for specialty items.

Went here with my daughter on a Sunday afternoon to get something specific. I browsed around and bought a number of things. I had been in Trader Joes before but a smaller one. I was amazed at the variety of items they have here. Now I love to try different foods and variants of foods, so I was in heaven. So much to look at, so I traversed each aisle. But since my wife was waiting for us in the car, I needed to not dally. I saw many things of interest, but decided to try a few. One was beef tamales. I love tamales but most are heavy on masa but light on filling. And a lot of Mexican restaurants don't ever have them. The tamales I tried later at home were great. Actually more filling than masa! And just a hint of spice - I did add some of the fiery hot sauce I also bought at Trader Joes. Rate AAA. Next were the Jalapeno Poppers. In the air fryer they were crispy outside and creamy inside. Tasty but very little flame. Rate A. Finally the Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings. I had seen these on multiple TV shows but never tried them. So forewarned about breaking them slightly on a spoon and allowing the soup to cool a bit, I did so. They were gummy but I have a friend with a Dumpling Truck (Dumpling Girls) in Charlotte that has the best dumplings, even better than the ones in China. Rate AA. It's a wonderful place and I want to go back, but bring my wife also. Just have to make some room in the freezer. And hopefully no time limit next time.

They started out strong, but the pricing has slowly been going up which sadly my husband and I expected shouldn’t be that way, but everybody’s great out of the gate. The key is to stay steady and get better not regress. We’ve been buying their New England clam chowder soup since the day they opened, we noticed our fourth or fifth trip that there was becoming less and less clams and potatoes and more broth and this past time my husband bought for last week, which was May 3 Friday Mostly broth couple clams couple pieces of potato what a massive disappointment maybe one’s a mistake but to have four of them all the same what are we paying for? You guys better make this right quick and watch your food quality that’s coming out because I’ll tell you PALM HARBOR isn’t gonna put up with us. It’s much easier to go back to sprouts for at least they’re consistent with their food and keep your prices down. I shop there because your prices are normal how they should be . They’re slowly starting to creep back up in that case there’s no reason to come to your store because you don’t carry the majority of things at most grocery stores do anyway, so why stop here and waste my time. Please fix it. I’m gonna be talking to a manager next time. I’m mad I really would like a refund on my money, but of course I don’t have my receipt. I threw it away. I didn’t think I needed to have it.

This new Trader Joe’s location is to this area. Space is clean, well organized, shelves are nicely stocked, team members are friendly and ready to help. Parking lot is spacious and easy to find a spot.

Google
This is the new Palm Harbor Trader Joe’s. It is much bigger than the St. Pete and Tampa locations. It also has a MUCH larger parking lot. There seems to be a bigger selection too. And the prices are better than most local groceries.

Google
Trader Joe’s is one of the best unique grocery stores out there. This place did not disappoint me, with their open isle setup, great prices, and wonderful staff. One of their staff members asked me about my dog I was buying treats for! Overall I recommend going here for an awesome experience!

Google
Great parking lot and nice layout inside. I’ll never go to the South Tampa location anymore. The only downside is the peculiar cashiers. I’ve had my groceries deeply inhaled once and on a separate instance I had items slammed into the scanner and subsequently dropped (practically thrown onto the ground) and then bagged without a sorry. Some of the cashiers should be stocking only, not up front.

Yelp
I love this place because there is no self check-out, only nice people with fun Hawaian shirts and kind smiles - I will drive miles out of my way to shop here.

Yelp
Wow. We are visiting from California and picked this based on the BILT credit. We were very surprised when we see how empty it was. However we found out that they just stayed to open on a Sunday as they were normally closed. Google confirms that they're supposed to be closed on Sunday. We ordered Cabornara, Wagyu papa deli, gnocchi, ribeye, and chocolate moos. I have to say the food was excellent. As a steak eater and not a fond of Italian, the food was excellent. The ribeye was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked to perfection. It's a shame if they don't make it because a restaurant like this would kill it in the Bay Area.

Yelp
Well, ya'll, another Trader Joe's has entered our lives. I like TJ's. They have the best snacks. I've been to this store a bunch of times since they opened and I don't like a lot of the people at this particular TJ's. The location of this store is great. 19 and Nebraska, big parking lot, lots of escape routes. As usual, there are fresh florals, interesting produce and such as soon as you enter. There are the frozen foods, candies, snacks, cold items of dairy, meats, eggs. They have the wines and beers and beauty products. I think this TJ's has more of a variety of stock items than the Tampa store. The difference here is the customers. I'm not trying to offend anyone here, but think about this zip code and who lives there. A generation with a reputation of...not thinking of others is the nice way to say it. And BOY do they act however they want in this store. No care given to traffic flow in the aisles, trying to cut in line because they just dont want to wait behind people who got there first, having conversations with Bridge Club pals at the tops of the aisles, blocking them fully with themselves and carts....sigh. Going early does not help. I have a feeling that LATER in the day is the sweet spot for this store. Anyway, I still go there, despite the clientele. I really love the unexpected cheddar spread, the fig crackers and the jicama slaw.

Yelp
I hate coming to this store. The employees are always so rude with their attitude and looks they give you and heaven forbid you return something, then they look at you like you are a liar even when offering proof, items, and receipts. It's been 10 months and the experience is always bad. Personality training and policy training might be a good idea. My favorite part was the cashier telling me what I have to do about a disability when I informed them it's against the ADA and they got snotty. Literally not your place and also, the nerve! The product isn't great either minus 3 or 4 things. Mostly frozen food that is never good. Amazing packaging but that's it. I've made it so I only come here for those couple of things but I'm about to stop coming altogether because I absolutely hate the experience. The community hyped this place up and it's just been a let down IMO

Yelp
Ahh yes Trader Joe's in Palm Harbor! I like this spot a lot. I'm def coming back here since I love going to this side of town for Clearwater Beach and Dunedin. The parking is just so much better than Tampa, St. Pete, & Sarasota(their first location.) I love that it's in a shopping plaza just like the one at UTC in Sarasota( the second Sarasota location. The layout is a bit different bc items like coffee and candy are above the frozen section. It's easy to look at it at the level that it is. The people who work and stock at night were super nice and helpful. For one, I saw they had kimbap(Korean Tofu rolls) in one of their boxes and I asked for some. Two, I asked if they can see if they had the breakfast chicken sausage patties in the back and they found them and brought them out right away for me. The person checking my food out was very friendly and engaging and she was understanding of how I bagged my items right away before she checked them out. It was an all around great experience. I wish I could still get one by me since it seems they are starting to open up more locations in shopping plazas hopefully bc they see how it helps with the parking issues.

Yelp
We love this store, service is awesome and ample parking, we went they first opened and have been regulars since, we love the fresh flowers and so less expensive then anywhere. We find what we need and the feel on small grocery store feels great, We love the feeling of walking in and seeing all the beautiful painting they have of palm harbor. Thanks for bringing trader joes to palm harbor.

Yelp
She's here!!! North Pinellas finally has a TJ's! It's everything you love about the brand only there's actually a great, big parking lot! (Unheard of, I know). Perfect layout, not too busy on a Sunday night. Got everything we needed and more. The best part was a delightful cashier who told us about all his favorite snacks at the store!

Yelp
Great prices. Limited selection. Small store. Some of the aisles are narrow. Try to avoid peak hours and come closer to closing.

Yelp
Received a gift certificate for Trader Joe's, bought 2 Rib eye stakes. Grilled one tonight to perfect medium rare, worst steak I ever had. Won't even try the other one, maybe it'll make good beef barley soup after I cook it for 6 hrs.

Yelp
All Trader Joe's locations are great, but the Palm harbor store feels larger than the one in south Tampa. There is also a ton of parking since this is in a strip mall. Great location, great selection. This will be my most frequented store now.

Yelp
Trader Joe's is a unique marketplace with a wide variety of items that you would be hard pressed to find in any of your local markets. This is a great place to just browse, as well as buy things. The only thing I really missed was the fresh popped popcorn that they had in their Houston store.

Yelp
Are these reviews for real? We went right before New Years to stock up on some appetizers for the holiday. My wife is vegan which is why we choose this store. We bought several frozen appetizers, a hunk of swiss, chicken salad, grated cheese, you name it. Almost everything was horrible., The shrimp bao's were disgusting. It had a tiny piece of shrimp surround by a bao which was previously frozen. The rest got thrown out. Their jumbo bag of mozzarella tasted and looked like plastic. The soup dumplings were the same as Walmart's which is a lot closer to us. The chicken salad had a hint of chicken taste but that also was thrown out after a small sandwich. I'm not sure what people expect from this store but I remember them from Jenkintown, PA when we lived there and it is just as bad as it was then. Stick with Publix or Walmart, much better.

Yelp
Got stuck in the bathroom. Doors are not ADA compliant and require much more then the 5 lbs max. Grocery stores should be accessible to all

Yelp
This is my favorite place for groceries- a very trusted vendor with unique items. From salads, coffee beans to meat & cheeses you'll find it there. Wonderful organic products throughout the store. Go early or late in the day to avoid the crowds. We waited for this treasure to open in Palm Harbor.

Yelp
Love Trader Joe" store is to small the Saint Petersburg store and the Tampa store has more variety. The one in Palm Harbor has a 4 foot section for ice cream. They could've done a better job and made it way bigger.
