Google
I shop here several times per week. It's Trader Joe's, so you pretty much know what you get. They hire for kindness and authenticity and it shows-- warmest, friendliest, most genuine staff of any corporation without a doubt. I'd love to say that the Garden Home location is special (and I guess they are because they're Trader Joe's), but honestly, you get that kind, genuine vibe from the staff in any location you visit. WHY other grocery stores don't also hire for kindness and "good vibes", I don't know, but I'm glad TJ's does. Solid group of people. Mostly great prices (but almond butter for $6.50, c'mon!). Stores (and selection) small enough that you can get in and out quickly. Love this place. And don't get me started on the whole "find the hidden mascot and get a lollipop thing" where your kids get to ring the dang bell and have everyone cheer, because that's another special thing that any other grocery store could and should do and yet TJs stands alone in offering this type of special touch.

Google
Fantastic location. Everyone is probably familiar with how great their products are. But what is so great here is how very friendly the staff is. Whoever in management does the hiring really selects nice people. And there is rarely a wait/line at the cash registers, some exceptions during holidays of course, but easy to zip in and zip out.

Google
Love TJ's. Everything is always so. good, and such variety of deliciousness. Always something new to try. I'd like to try everything in there. Also, the clerks/hosts are eager to help want their guests to be happy 😄. Gonna try the new creamed corn, today. Yummmmy!

Google
The issue I have is EVERY TIME I decide to give this place a shot and buy fresh items, without fail, I get something that has gone bad before I open it and before the use-by date. I do not have this problem at other trader joes. Its specifically this location. It must be their refridgeration systems, or perhaps the way they are stored in the back? Whatever the reason, I just will not risk buying fresh items here any longer. Just a side note.. the workers used to be a lot more customer oriented but this last time I came in there were employees blocking many customers standing around trying to get to items, and the employees seemed to not care at all. Just kept stocking, so either the customer had to push their way in awkwardly or just move on and not get that item.

Google
Always an interesting shopping experience finding some new or quasi-exotic delicacy. Taking the time to read the labels is usually mildly entertaining. The quality is always top-notch.

Google
It was alright. I shop TJ seldom now. I used to shop here regularly since 2003. They had the items I needed that were difficult to find. I was getting dirty looks from another customer while in line minding my own business and etc... I assume that it was due to their discomfort with my skin color.

Google
Always a great shopping experience. Fruit is ripe and priced competitively. Lots of organic options available. Local options for beer with a good variety. Don’t forget to pick up the lava cakes and French vanilla ice cream.

Google
Parking lot was really full and chaotic and the meat section is on the small side. That is the reason I didn't give 5 stars. Everything else was delightful, convenient, and exceeded my expectations.

Yelp
Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's. How I love thee Trader Joe's. I have to say Garden Home is my hands down favorite TJ's location. I have three that are so about equidistant from me, so GH is my choice. They always have the best floral selection and it's always fresh and I can count on that! They also have such an open store. It feels larger in the aisles, etc. The employees at this location also get my vote for happiest staff. They generally all wear smiles and are helpful. I love love love this Trader Joe's!!!

Yelp
We shop regularly at TJ`s and I make my weekly or biweekly gricery trips to this Trader Joe's because of the super conveniant location and save driving all the way to Beaverton. The store is spacious, very neatly organized and well stocked , although there have been times when I couldn't find a few of my staples . After multiple visits I believe that they don't store them and that's one of the minor inconvenience with this new location. The produce is fresh and there are plenty of options both in the frozen section and the dry goods. Staff are friendly and always go over and beyond .Surprisingly , unlike the Trader joe`s stereotype this particular location also has a huge parking lot.

Yelp
This is a really lovely Trader Joe's. They have a large parking lot which is a huge benefit for this brand which is kind of known for the opposite. The store is large, clean, and employees really live up to their reputation for being friendly. They have two all-gender restrooms in the back of the store. Products are standard for any Trader Joe's location. Layout changes from store to store but once you're familiar enough with their style, I feel like you can find what you need. Or ask their plentiful and outgoing staff. I am not in this area often but I'd definitely return to this store when I am.

Yelp
I stopped in to grab a beverage on my way to see a street concert. The store is clean, well-lit, and roomy. They were playing hip hop music over the PA with completely inappropriate lyrics for a supermarket full of families with children, which was very off-putting. Prices are high, quality of their house-branded items seem to be pretty bad, and I just don't get the fanaticism for this place. Service was friendly and ample, enabling me to purchase my items very quickly without a long wait in line. The parking lot is VERY tight, and the shopping center in which Trader Joes is located was extremely busy on my visit. It literally took three minutes for pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic to sufficiently clear to enable me to back my car our of its parking space.

Yelp
Another Trader Joe's in the Portland area. By last count this is number 9, all wishing 8-20 minutes of my house. Crazy! And lucky. I know people who make monthly 2 hour trips to their closest TJs. Since they just opened, everything is new and shiny! I like that they build a very roomy, covered entry area where you can grab your cart or basket. Inside has a unique set up and I'm not sure I'm a fan. When you enter you are in the produce area and fresh flower area. The aisles are set up horizontal, rather than vertical. With a vertical plan you immediately have access to the aisle you need and can see everything laid out in front of you. With a Horizontal layout, the aisles are blocked from view so you have to walk to the right and then go up and down every aisle. The food placement is also more random than other locations, and Traders is known for random! Yes, we are all used to grabbing our favorite candy and cookies from a shelf over the open freezer section but this freezer area is in the same aisle as the healthy, beauty and cleaning products. The beer and wine section is the smallest I've ever seen but they had my fave everyday drinking wines - MoonX and Cocobon red blends - so I'm cool with that. Unusual for a Traders, and a huge plus, is their parking lot. Lots of parking spaces and easy to drive up and down the rows. When I heard about this new location I thought it would become my regular TJs but the NE Hollywood location is still my fave. Huge footprint, great layout and near my gym so I'm in that area 6 days a week. If I'm in this part of town, I'll stop in but won't be making a special trip. That being said, for those who live and or work in Garden Home, I'm thrilled that you now have a neighborhood Trader Joe's!

Yelp
It's nice to have a Trader Joe's in the Garden Home area. They took over and remodeled part of the defunct Lamb's Thriftway that use to be there. A plus with this location is their ample parking spaces. Their layout is a bit different from other TJ locations. You'll catch the floral department and Customer Service as you come in. It is spacious, but will need some getting used to if you're used to their other floor plan. They carry a wide selection of items you'll find at other locations. Customer service isn't as warm nor friendly as the Beaverton or Lake Oswego store. Thus the 4 stars. I'm sure this will improve in the near future.

Yelp
Yay! I'm the first to review this location that just opened up a few days ago! This appears to be a bigger than average TJ, not as far as more products, but more space. It didn't take up the entire space of the old Thriftway, not sure what they're doing with the remaining space. But definitely this is a more spacious than average TJ, and I'm very lucky to be in between this one & the Lake Oswego location, both are so close in opposite directions. Of course it's extra super clean being it's so new. All TJ's are clean, but this one just sparkles! I look forward to the wall art, that's not there yet and is part of what makes TJ so charming. Please note that the greeting cards are not at customer service like they are at every other store, they're across the way in produce on a stand. There isn't much to say other than it's the same winning formula as all TJ locations. Great products, good prices, friendly employees. However, I will take a moment to say that my previous TJ reviews were removed twice before. One was for a different location (4 star) and one was for their corporate office (3 star). Yelps reasoning was that it wasn't a personal experience. I posted tons of recent receipts showing I was there, and they still removed the 2nd one too. I won't go into detail to not risk my review being removed again, feeling CENSORED is awful, so I will just say it had to do with how I felt the corporate office handled the pandemic in relation to other grocers, I mean, that does impact both employees and customers, I saw it with my own 2 eyes. The local employees, however, are amazing at every store. Hopefully I don't get needlessly flagged by the TJ Yelp police.....again :/

Yelp
I don't really understand the TJ obsession... it's okay. The produce section is pretty small and the food items I purchased were nothing outstanding. Frozen tortellini was okay, a bit chewy (I make tortellini often enough to know it was the pasta, not the way I cooked it). The bagels were downright bad, very doughy with not much flavor, I definitely would not get those again. Some prices are good, some are much higher than I expected. I couldn't make out any rhyme or reason to the locations of foods and there is very little in the way of directional signage so unless you're a regular shopper, finding something specific will not be a quick trip. There are unusual snacks and frozen foods but this is more of a "I'm having a very specific craving", "I need something for a white elephant gift", or a "let's go buy random trendy frozen food" shopping trip. I still had to find a more mainstream grocery store for actual day-to-day food. The checkouts are set up with very tiny counters so if you're doing a big trip it gets awkward handing each item to the cashier and keeping things that were already scanned separate from things that were not scanned yet. It isn't bad, I guess I am just not their target market.

Yelp
When I was shopping for a home in the area, I always made sure to check how far a potential home was from a Trader Joe's - I love this store. I was thrilled that there were two! about the same distance away from my new place that I could choose from. But then this one in Garden Home opened and it quickly became my favorite. It's spacious inside and in the parking lot. The layout is different but not awful. The employees are nice, the prices are as expected. Don't forget to check out their new product shelf, there's always something new to try!

Yelp
Everything! They are kind, helpful and informative. There is a wide selection of interesting, yummy items that can't be found anywhere else

Yelp
I live near this Trader Joe's, and I'm so happy that my neighborhood has a convenient place to shop at once again - the space previously was Garden Home Thriftway and the space was empty for a couple of years, so my neighbors, and I are so thrilled TJ's is in our community. This TJ's is like all the other ones I've shopped at: friendly, welcoming, professional, well stocked with healthy and delicious food and with fair prices, too.

Yelp
Unfortunately each store is not the same....From layout, inventory and super disappointing was the customer service!!! Definitely would not recommend

Yelp
A company that supports their employees will always be the place I choose to shop. Today I got word that when an employee was sick management took over a care package, soup, bread, medicine, water, Gatorade, his eyes watered when he spoke of their kindness, and how he felt like they were family. My goodness... yup. Take all of my money! Also this store is always clean, friendly staff, has a great selection, and the plant babies seem the healthiest, maybe they can feel the good energy of the store I know I sure can! Keep up the good work and I'll see you tomorrow.

Yelp
Great location (1st time in)! My wife and I usually shop at a different trader Joe's closer to our house. We pass this one frequently and have always wanted to stop in. It's very nicely laid out, very clean and the customer service is excellent! Check it out.

Yelp
This TJs is so nice. It's been opened for not too long so everything still looks new. All employees are pleasant and cashiers move super fast.

Yelp
When Yelp asks for a review of a store almost everyone (that I know of) likes, I wonder what to say that hasn't been said . I like the freezer section of all kinds delicious sounding entrees, vegetable dishes and desserts! I have tried a small number of these but I have like them. My husband, isn't a fan of pre-made processed goodies. That's ok. I like them even though I don't buy them. You know how it is. If you cook for both of you, the food should appeal to both of you. I honestly can't think of a negative about Trader Joe's. I suppose you could say that there aren't as many fresh vegetables there that aren't packaged might be a negative. But there are other stores where you get a wide variety of fresh veg. I think it's a fun environment with lots of tastes and dishes that you can try...or not :)

Yelp
Love having a Trader Joe's in my neighborhood. As described, it has more space than other TJs and ample parking. In every other way, it is a TJs: friendly employees, lots of easy to prepare food options, and very busy in the afternoon. The space they occupy now has an ACE Hardware next door, so it is a great place to get a few errands done.

Yelp
What's not to love? Great neighborhood addition; pretty store, great friendly staff. Thanks TJs

Yelp
TJ's is the best. Great prices, everybody seems happy that works there, and a great variety for selection. Pretty much the go to store.

Yelp
I am simple, Trader Joe's always gets 5 stars from me. I love stopping in at the various locations across Portland any time I'm in town. I find this one to be my favorite. The staff and vibe is just super rad.

Yelp
So exciting to have a TJs in Garden Home. It always looks like a nightmare, but I've gotten in and out quick every time I've shopped. The store has a different layout, but the selection is great & the check-out team is awesome.

Roxy B.

Yelp
my favorite trader joe's to go to!!! great selection and more space to browse than other trader joe's i've been to. great employees as well!
