Trader Joe’s Salads Recalled Due to Salmonella and Listeria Concerns | Eater

"This grocery chain has pulled a variety of fresh salad products from shelves in nine states (Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and New Mexico) over possible Salmonella and Listeria contamination; the affected items carry best-by dates from October 15 through October 20. The company says no illnesses have been linked to the salads, and the action follows an earlier salad recall in August that was tied to an intestinal parasite." - Chris Fuhrmeister

Trader Joe’s is my go-to for most of my groceries! I love all the unique products you just can’t find anywhere else. They have a great selection of organic and vegan options, and they’re always bringing in new items. The seasonal products keep the store feeling fresh and fun every time I visit. Their canvas bags are the bomb, and I always end up grabbing a plant or flowers on my way out — such great quality for the price. Overall, just a consistently awesome place to shop.

I like shopping here, it’s a solid option for getting my groceries. While it can get pretty busy, they always seem to keep things running smoothly. The shelves are usually well-stocked and the veggies are usually fresh. The meat selection is good too….with a nice variety to choose from. Even when it’s busy, the cashiers do a great job moving the lines along quickly. Overall, it’s a good location.

Google
A very nice Trader Joes with a good selection! They even have my favorite cocoa truffles! Good prices and lots of neat things to try.

Google
The fall leaf tortilla chips are crisp and light, with a pleasant crunch in every bite. Their leaf shapes give them a seasonal touch, making them stand out on the table. They taste great on their own and pair well with dips like salsa or guacamole. They’re simple, tasty, and add a nice autumn feel to any snack or meal.

Google
Just like all the other trader joes. This one carries all my essentials. Free parking, though it can get a bit busy in the lot. The store handles the volume for its size very well. Never have to wait long to check out and employees are always friendly and helpful.

Google
Always a good experience. Employees are really polite, very helpful, and bring a general vibe of good mood. I've never found any of my favorite items to be out or unspoken. It's always exciting to see what new items are on the shelves! I notice how minimal their ingredient lists are on their frozen meals.. most everything is just basic food ingredients and not filled with a bunch of chemical gibberish. I haven't been to many other Trader Joe's locations, just a few, but I always have a good experience. Parking can get a bit tight after 4pm on weekdays, and afternoons on weekends, but I still find a spot every time.

Harley C.

Google
The friendliest staff. Great selection of produce. Usually can get everything I need here on a grocery run. I live closeby and rarely use the parking garage but have never had a problem finding parking in the garage. Love the selection of flowers at the front. Bring your reusable shopping bags. Or reuse the paper bags you get here.

Google
Hector was very friendly at the checkout! We stocked up on some items that have become staples in our home. They had an Idaho state bag and we got that as well to go with our Washington and Arizona state bags. Score! Now I don’t need to go to Idaho! lol Tight parkade but appreciated the free parking.

Yelp
Was just in an although they did not have three items I needed, Christine was so professional and with grace shot me down three times. Lol nice to encounter and employee who is cheerful and knows her stock and cares about customers!

Yelp
Most Trader Joe's that l've been to are located in the suburbs or in the middle of the city. This one is the closest to Downtown Seattle right in Capital Hill on East Madison Street. Fall Season is definitely coming up soon as the summer heat is calming down while tree leaves are turning from green to brown in the neighborhood. Picking up groceries was mainly the purpose of the day. From breakfast items, snacks, salads to basically anything you might have forgotten in your toiletry bag. It seems that fresh strawberries and blueberries were a popular item at the time. A clerk came by to replenish a lot of them in an almost empty refrigerator case. Price is always right, service from all clerks and cashiers are very consistent whenever you visit any Trader Joe's in any state. What I didn't expect to see was crowds and crowds of customers during my shopping visit, and the store clerks were extra friendly. Trader Joe's is always a must go whenever on the US Mainland.

Yelp
Trader Joes is always amazing. All of them. Its like the working man's whole foods. Healthy food at humane prices

Yelp
I love Trader Joe's! This location is clean, has a parking garage under the store with elevators to take you up, and staff is friendly and helpful. The produce at this Trader joes is pretty fresh and reasonably priced compared to other stores in the area. I also love all of their seasonal items. Right now, it's fall/Halloween time so lots of pumpkins, gourds, squash, and potatoes! I also got some mandarins which were nice and juicy. The pumpkin spice rooibos tea is great and I also got some of their pastas! Trader Joes is such a fun place to visit anytime of year because their items are always changing!

Yelp
Always the go to for Omiyage for locals to bring home from Hawaii Love looking for the new items. This time it was the olive and herb mixed nuts and the granola crackers. Also love the dill pickle seasoning.
google avatar

Sindu K.

Yelp
This is my favorite grocery store. Things are priced just right. I prefer getting fresh cut flowers from here because of the price and the quality. The produce is of great quality as well. Do try their salad kits which are delicious. They also have ready to eat meal kits. Some of the favorite things to pick up from this grocery store are juices, coconut water, fresh produce, ready to eat salad kits, frozen Indian food, canned fizzy juices, potted plants.
google avatar

Yelp
Trader Joe's has long been a go-to store for certain items, including water crackers, Cuban-style black beans, tulips, alstroemeria (flowers), triple-cream brie, low-salt roasted almonds, chocolate covered ginger, coffee filters, cat food, frozen Indian dinners (lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka, etc.). In the last few months, they've cut two of our most sought after items: they no longer stock Cuban black beans or chocolate covered ginger. That means there's much less reason to visit Trader Joe's, as those items kept us coming back. We can easily get brie, flowers and almonds elsewhere. While we like their frozen Indian dinners, they are an incidental purchase, not the reason for a visit. Add to that the miserably tight parking garage spaces that Trader Joe's is known for, and we're now going far less often than we used to. In short, Trader Joe's has been streamlining their product offerings, but in the process has cut some of the key products that were "must have" items, that both differentiate them from their competition and were a reason to go ("we're out of water crackers and chocolate covered ginger -- let's swing by") -- so we no longer go anywhere near as often.

Yelp
I love TJ's in general, and this TJ's selection is just as good as my local store. There is a small parking garage, and you take the elevator to get to the store. There is also a entrance from the ground level if you park on the street (but I do believe it is all metered). Stopped here to satisfy our vegetable craving after days of eating out. Got what we came here to purchase & then some. Friendly staff.
google avatar

Lyle M.

Yelp
We are a TJ family! My son has opened 4 new stores for TJ in 4 different states! My Son in Law also works for TJ for 12 years, and my daughter, nephew, and father in law all use to work for TJ. Why do we like it, simply because of their employees are all always eager to help you, eager to take you to the section to find something and above all you will never find a TJ employee not letting you try anything you want in the store BEFORE you buy it! I absolutely love this location of TJ for each and every other location that I have been in, and that's a lot! TJ is clearly the best supermarket out there! If I had one complaint, it would be that we need the location closer to our home!

J S.

Yelp
Place is great but would be nice if they could automate some of the checkouts. The folks at the register are nice but you can't get in and out quickly without a self checkout. I've rarely shopped here, but this is the second time they've shuttered up the cold/frozen food section, maybe due to an electrical outage issue or coldness issue. Couldn't buy what I wanted.
google avatar

Lara L.

Yelp
We love TJs! Always looking for one in whatever state we visit. This one, located in Capitol Hill- it has a small, very tight garage. We rented a large SUV and immediately regretted turning in. After about 15 minutes, we were able to park (yes, it is small and stalls are small!!!!). Once we got over the parking, we headed in....of course, we weren't disappointed with the variety the store has to offer. The lines weren't long at all and the staff are (as usual)- AWESOME. :)

Yelp
Customer service is a hit or miss at this location. Their layout mirrors other Trader Joe's locations, but it seems to have a bit more spacing in their aisles so you're not consistently playing bumper cars with people's carts. Street parking is mixed in with apartment buildings in the area, so you may end up circling the block a few times. This location has security guards (Queen Anne location doesn't), so I guess this location has dealt with a lot of theft? There were two there today, which seemed a bit excessive but to be fair they were nice. When I was there they stuck to the entrance/weren't actively walking around the store to intefere with anyone's shopping experience. Well stocked location, but I only stop in if I'm already in the area for a meal or whatnot. Their hours of operation for the weekdays are changing to, I think the sign said 9am-10pm.

Teresa P.

Yelp
Here to say thank you to, I believe it was Rio, for being such a great cashier! Super friendly and sweet. Usually I feel a bit uncomfortable here talking to cashiers but he made me feel at ease. Thank you!

Yelp
Really a nice store in the middle of the city. Clean, friendly and decent public restrooms.

Yelp
1. 5 stars for checker today who handled my cat food return. Okay, i have a picky eater cat. I had bought a few cans. She refused to eat it. I brought back one and they refunded me the two with a smile..i didnt even ask, but it came out in my story and they took the initiative. 2. smaller store but they kept numbers down so felt safe enough. 3. just right selection so in and out fast. 4. parking in the building, can be tight. Take stairs down or elevator but you will need to wait in line if there is one. It moved fast. 5. Okay, so only 4 stars for the wait in the rain (not their fault). 4 stars for not having more open ways to go from parking lot to store (elevator or stairwell). But on average you get 5. Thx TJ.
google avatar

Paulina H.

Yelp
There was a long line waiting but didn't wait for too long, probably 10-15 mins which is not too bad. Unfortunately I think it was too many people inside and it is hard to maintain social distancing for this crowded environment. I have to recommend this can wine, I was skeptical about it at first but my friend was highly recommended it and since he also works at TJ so I was like why not give it a try. This drink definitely did not disappoint me and I highly recommend it! It is so good and taste like mango juice sparkling, like wayyy better than white claw! So go try it out

Yelp
This is a really nice Trader Joe's. If I had to pick one word to describe this place it would be happy. The store is clean and well stocked. But the best thing about this store is the people that work here. They're always really friendly. I know it's just a grocery store but the people that check out my groceries are always really nice and helpful. They've always made me feel welcome and usually thank me for bringing my own bag. Who does that? Also, the people that work here seem to genuinely like their job. It's a really nice environment, even when it's crazy busy. Sometimes I hear them ringing a bell and I think it's because they don't have one of those annoying PA systems. I think it's a call for assistance but whatever it is, it reminds me of a happy bar environment and who doesn't like that? There's another grocery store a block away but it doesn't have a nice vibe and the workers don't seem very happy. Trader Joe's is my favorite! Oh and the prices are really good. Keep up the good work Trader Joe's! You are awesome!

Yelp
I love the Trader Joe's always very clean and helpful people it's good quality and I can found what I need thank you Trader Joe's

Yelp
Hawaii is a gift-giving culture. Many here practice the act of omiyage - giving family and friend gifts when traveling abroad. While this could potentially be a tedious task, gift shopping can actually be a fun and rewarding experience if Trader Joe's is involved. I stopped here on Day 1 on a recent trip to Seattle for an Orthopedic course. Trader Joe's has never let me down and this time they had a full array of spirits for purchase. The service, as always, was EXCEPTIONAL!!! This particular location was a bit on the smaller side, but there was plenty of parking and everything was easy to find due to the standard Trader Joe's layout. I walked out with the requisite amount of gifts (chocolates, dried fruit, scones, etc.) If I'm in Seattle again, I won't hesitate to visit.

Yelp
great store. super friendly employees. great prices. lots of vegetarian and vegan options. always new stuff coming in. free samples. im a big fan.

Yelp
Maybe my review is bias since we don't have Trader Joe's in Hawaii so we always look forward to stopping by any Trader Joe's during a mainland trip. No complaints about this location. Amazing selection as always and the employees are so friendly. Can't list all my favorite items as it would take a week but definitely love the frozen breaded pretzels and Trader Jose beer.

Corinne L.

Yelp
TJs is the best! Great selection, quality, and fair prices. Their snacks are addictive. Please never leave.

Yelp
Here's what happened today. I actually love shopping at Trader Joe's, but what happened today got me thinking. As I approached the counter, which stocks fruit juices, yogurt, and other dairy products, an employee from Trader Joe's appeared, making his way to the rear employee storage room. Before entering the rear storeroom, he noisily sucked up mucus from his windpipe into his mouth and spit it all into a trash can located inside the salesroom, opposite the counter where you can choose items. Another woman, who was also selecting merchandise at the counter, turned aound to look at the man with the noisy disgusting behavior. Neither she nor I said anything to him. After spitting in the trash can, he disappeared into the rear storage room. I found this behavior inappropriate from a grocery store clerk and decided to report this issue to a manager. There were three managers I met and reported this to. Somehow I had the feeling that they didn't want to hear it or didn't want to be bothered with such a complaint. They didn't thank me. On the contrary, I had the feeling that they thought I was from the moon. Well, maybe I didn't interpret their behavior correctly. In any case, I think that the clerk should not do this in the sales room and that clerks are advised to do such gross things more discreetly and not in front of customers and in the room where customers are shopping.

Yelp
I love this Trader Joe's. Ever since i have been trying to become more focused on being a vegetarian (eating way less meat) and just in general eating healthier, I have found Trader Joe's to be my mecca to go for produces (fruits and veggies) and some cleaner items like organic unsalted almond nut butter (this thing is yummy in a smoothie by the way!). The prices of the produces are very reasonable and they are fresh! The employees are also helpful and friendly. Whenever they saw me looking around for something, they always asked if they could help or if I found everything alright. Overall, a wonderful place to shop for my weekly produces/groceries! Bonus: free but tight parking structure available...and oh...that free sample station in the back of the store seems to always have yummy samples to try! :)~

Yelp
Capital Hill's Trader Joe's store is an interesting one in which it has it's own garage parking. Parking here seems to be a nightmare, at least on our (my husband and I) visit last Sunday. There was actually an employee in the parking garage trying to direct traffic. Once you park, you can take the elevator downstairs to the store. This store has a similar layout as all the other Trader Joe's I have been to, in other states. Everything seemed to be in order and adequately stocked for the most part. I only came here to stock up on bottled water. I was disappointed that they only bottled water they had cost $2.74 each, which is pretty expensive (you can get a gallon bottled water for $0.99 at Safeway). But since we were already here, I chocked up the price and purchased 2. And of course as the impulse buyer that I am, I also decided to get a box of the Maple Leaf Cookies. There are a seasonal item that is only available during fall time. Although I love the ones in Canada much more, these still do a good job as the next best thing. At the check out, all the registers opened had lines. But we didn't wait too long to pay. The employee who took care of my transaction was nice. Then back up the elevator to our car. And a drive out of the garage, back to our vacation rental. Overall, a nice store but would probably try to stay away on weekends to avoid traffic.

Yelp
This review is a long time coming. Capitol Hill TJ's: The. Best. Store. On. The. Hill. Service and attitude. Or attitude and service. Great staff who appear to enjoy when this long-time customer has a question (where have all the biscotti gone? Ans.: we moved them; let me show you where) or their help at check out. The check out process is so damn pleasant, without being patronizing. I've gotten great service from young 'uns who have just started working up to seasoned managers. I congratulate senior staff who must do some very smart hiring and then customer training. In terms of TJ stuff sold there...much of it is very good to great (shout outs to: clementines, eggplants, cheeses, cereals, hummus, jars of condiments, oils, balsamic vinegars, ice cream, those almond biscotti). Only sadness: sometimes the TJ corporation chooses to discontinue a great product (we mourn the loss of that hawaiian macadamia nut honey). But, so it goes. Bottom line: just a super store that helps make one's day a bit brighter, easier, and well-fed.

Yelp
Conveniently located in Capitol Hill on Madison and 17th. They have a free parking garage. I love Trader Joe's because it's a unique grocery store. They have everything from produce to premade salads to dairy, grains; also dairy and grain alternatives. They have a plethora of dressings/sauces to include hummus of many kinds, and other fun dipping concoctions. Trader Joe's is known for their unique edible options and choices. It's much more fun to shop here than a traditional grocery store because of all the interesting finds.
google avatar

Britt H.

Yelp
Friendly/efficient customer service and best selection of products of any Trader Joe's I've been to. I'll definitely be back here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Visiting Seattle after a week on cruise. Convenient place to get small portions of veggies and cold cuts for hotel refrigerator. Fruits were fresh and delicious. We got our snacks for ourselves and friends back home. Good selection of wines.

Yelp
This is my go-to! Why I love it here: --Private parking lot (when it's busy, there's people that direct the parking traffic) --Cheap and high-quality produce --Free samples of whatever food they are providing free samples of --Free coffee! --Pretty tasty Trader Joe's cheesecake The only con: hipsters shop here.

Yelp
I honestly can not tell if security is staring at me because I am not a white soccer mom and therefore, in their eyes, must be a thief or if they're pervs who stare at all women from the time they enter until they leave. I do know that it's getting tired, and if you'd don't want POC, particularly WOC, in your store hang a sign so I can spend my money in peace at a different location. This seems to be a trend in all the comments I've read from POC in the comments, and it makes me uncomfortable, and downright sad, that this is what this location is known for. This has not been my experience outside of Seattle, and, unfortunately, it proudly breeds here. Besides blatant racism, the produce selection at TJs in Seattles is horrendous. The one from where I just moved from as an excellent selection with fresh vegetables that are long-lasting. All the ones in Seattle rot by the time you get them home. I don't understand the lack of quality here.
google avatar

Debra W.

Yelp
It is nice to know that I can travel to another state and visit a Trader Joe's and get all the same things I love at my local Trader Joe's. This store had a great layout and pretty spacious. Which was surprising because the parking garage was a cluster you know what.
google avatar

Evelyn S.

Yelp
I enjoy shopping at this and most other Trader Joe's! The prices especially on the produce is very good and great selections! I also like to buy the frozen packs of chicken breasts that are only 2.99 lb for the store brand! I also buy the ground beef 80/20 at 3.99 lb, which is a great price! I even get some of their greeting cards which are around $1.00! Customer service is great and everyone is so helpful! Some of the packaged nuts are a great price, as well! In the summer, this is where I can find whole watermelons at a great price and they are usually good! Overall, a great grocery shopping experience and many varieties and assortments of many items to choose from! It's a fun grocery trip!
google avatar

Kari R.

Yelp
I really wish we lived Here as we Don't have a Trader Joe's in Juneau Alaska. The produce is so beautiful and fresh. The selection and quality is alway awesome
google avatar

Nicole Z.

Yelp
First, you have to park in the parking garage which is SMALL. If you have a big vehicle, good luck lol. Then when you walk up to the elevator, there's a sign that says "If you can, please use the stairs" Well, I was fine with that so I walked over to the stairs. I started to go down and then noticed it was a quite few floors and I don't like being alone in staircases. I lived in Vegas for 15 years and people would hangout in them when they were up to no good. I freaked out and went to open the door and it was locked! I couldn't go back up and to the elevators. Talk about a panic attack. I had no choice to go all the way down the stairs. It takes you out to the street. Not even inside the store. Being freaked out about the situation, I wanted to talk to a manager about the door locking but I decided to let it go and try to shop. Once I was done shopping, I went to the elevator to go back up the to garage. lol. Being new to this city, I have a lot to get use to. Anxiety and all.

Yelp
They need to get it together. I called about a new seasonal item to ask if it was in yet. They told me yes and said a lot of people had called about it, asking if I would be in that day. One could gather from these comments it was flying off the shelf and I better haul ass if I'm trying to partake. I hustle over and don't see it anywhere so I ask an employee where it is and he explains it will be in the next day. WTF. So I plan accordingly the next morning to get there before work, stand in line before opening the whole shebang. I've never been at that hour, the shelves were scarce. I didn't realize they dipped at 9 sharp the night before rather than stocking up the next day as most grocers do. I ask about my product again and it's in the back but they can't get it out for another hour or so. Cheesus crust guys. Guess third times the charm...maybe....if I'm lucky.

Brontë W.

Yelp
Michael really knocked it out of the park. Give him a raise. He deserves all that and more. He is precious Trader Joe's cargo.
google avatar

Ken R.

Yelp
Everyone is so friendly....Everyone. The food is top quality. And the prices are extremely reasonable. The meats are a little bit more expensive than other places but everything else is so awesome that it cancels out the high meat prices. Besides, I can just buy meats elsewhere.
google avatar

Sheila B.

Yelp
Great value and produce is available organic as well as regular. Strawberries always sweet! Great stir fry veg mix with Kale, Brussels sprouts, carrots. Their own brands are likewise good value. Can't beat the wine prices and quality for price. Not to mention the chocolate candy!
google avatar

Thao N.

Yelp
Thank god they have their own parking garage being centrally located in Capitol Hill, it's kind of tight, but better than parking far and walking around with heavy groceries. Staff was very nice. Same great selection like any of their other locations. I buy wine for my clients here, try the peach bellini, it's a hit and only for $6 per bottle. There's a missing kangaroo here named Trader Joey, help find and bring him back to his mom. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
This is the best grocery store in the area! I guess people who work there don't take their job seriously so they had to close down. Happy to see the store open up!
google avatar

Daisha N.

Yelp
This is where you will find me WEEKLY purchasing my groceries and what not. I love this place. I enjoy myself all the time coming to this store. They have samples in the back, delicious wine selections, and a section for "new items". I also have to browse all the above. I use to shop only at Safeway and missed coming here, but I have recently moved onto Madison and here I am ONLY hitting up Trader Joes, or sometimes I do both. Oh my forgot someones birthday present. you can get a bunch of flowers for 4.99 plus a .99 cent card. OHHHH myyy the deals go on here. I love this spot. Defiantly my favorite one. I even went to the Queen Anne one and let me tell you I think I'm ok with just this one.

Yelp
Amazing, satisfying and great experience anytime of the day. TJs has figured the formula for a perfect size store that carries most groceries. I don't need to walk through long aisles at QFC or Safeway or Whole Foods or Albertsons. And, realize I am in the wrong aisle and start all over again. May be that just me. Or, wait in the long lines or even after using my bags, tell the smart machines that I Do Not Need any bags. It's convenient and practical for me to walk to TJs get what's on my list, perhaps try a coffee sample use Apple Pay and walk out in few minutes. Meats, dairy, produce, pretty much everything is fresh and one can count on it. Often I have seen rotten produce at some other grocery stores and pointed out to the staff. Do the do anything about it? In a small space TJs have great selection of cheeses. Wine selection is pretty good as well. TJs carry the freshest seasonal blooms compared to most places. And if you are price conscious, TJs is the place for better prices on fresh-cut flowers to Orchids and seasonal blooms. TJs Team is extremely efficient, friendly and always eager to help. Way to go TJs!
google avatar

Shelly D.

Yelp
Here are my thoughts about this Trader Joe's. Everything here is great except for the produce. I can't tell you how many times I've purchased avocados just to cut them open and find them rotten. That goes for 70% of produce...they usually stay fresh no more than 2 days. As for their pastries, they stay fresh no more than 4-5 days. Frozen food here is the BEST. This is why I come, for the frozen veggies, frozen prepped meals, frozen fruits, ice cream...the best.
google avatar

Steph J.

Yelp
Selection: good Service: amazing (like all TJ's) Oh TJ's, how I love you. I travel for work a lot and this is my go-to spot no matter what city or state I'm in because I can get my favorite items no matter what. The store layout of this location is different than most of the ones I've been to so I struggled at first when I starting coming here. The staff is amazing though and helped me find everything I was looking for. Favorite items & steals - Herbal Infused Water: both the ginger and spearmint flavors are bomb. - Mac & Cheese: the regular, jalapeno and even guilt free are all LIFE CHANGING - Prosciutto: my best steal, so much less expensive than QFC/Kroger - Avocado Oil: next best steal, also way less expensive than my other store

Yelp
Trader Jose's. Home of 2 Buck Chuck, Buffalo Burgers and hummus smooth enough to spread on the bare chest of Zues himself. Also an excellent place to get quinoa, almond milk andother super foods such as 206 Vodka and Cookie Butter--a revolutionary new spread that's a hybrid between cookie dough and pure butter fat--100% healthy obviously. The workers are hopped up on trader joes cool aide and I think they're convinced they're volunteering for peace corpse and have 0 idea that they work for a national grocery conglomerate driven by profits and shareholders. All good though as long as they keep stocking my brown rice and buffalo burgers--I'm not going to be the one to tell them Santa Clause doesn't exist and I'm sure not gonna tell them they're any less valuable to society than an American Red Cross volunteer, the Navy SEALS or the good hippy dippy folks of the peace corpse off fighting AIDS and teaching villagers on other continents the upside of drinking and defecating at different points along the slip n' slide. Keep up the good work of guarding the winter wall Trader Jose Hipsters--you're bravery is the thin line of resistance between humanity's survival and a Safeway/whole foods apocalypse !

Yelp
As far as TJs go, this one isn't my favorite to go to, but it'll do in a pinch. It's also pumpkin season now, so if you go to TJs (any TJs really) you'll be visually assaulted by too much orange. It also means that some of their other seasonal products are out of rotation, but I guess that's the tradeoff when you are selling 20+ pumpkin products. The layout is a little weird with all the fridge stuff down one side in separate cases (there's one for veggie burgers/dips, one for cheese and ready-to-eat stuff, one for other dairy), and they're staggered so you can't always see where something is, which means you have to wander around for longer. That said, customer service was pretty good; because of the weird layout I guess we looked a bit lost and had a staff member offer to help us. I asked where a few things were (since it wasn't set up like my regular TJs) and he didn't just say where it was, but he led us to the stuff we were after to make sure we'd have it. And this was on Saturday afternoon when the store was pretty busy; after he helped us I saw him go up to someone else and help them too. The produce didn't seem too bad when I was there; I know other Yelpers have mentioned that it seems to go off super quick, but it's day 4 and our bananas and avocado are still going strong. Parking is super crazy here; the TJs has its own little parking lot but it's insanely cramped and the marks on the walls and bent poles are good evidence that it's not made for all cars/drivers. It's also not a huge lot so you usually have to wait. You're better off finding a park on the street and then walking in.

Yelp
Yeah, I am a fan of this store but not a fan of that parking garage. So don't trade your pants to Joe for a parking spot. From research, unlike normal grocery stores, which may carry about 50,000 items, Trader Joe's stocks about 4,000 items, 80% they stock is their own brand names...more focus on environmentally friendly and organic produce. They sell gourmet foods like caviar, organic foods, vegetarian food, unique frozen foods, imported foods, domestic and imported wine & beer. They have the normal stock "alternative" food items, and staples like bread, cereal, eggs, dairy, coffee and produce. I think they stock the best snacks...cookies, candies, and sweet treats. I come here for the organic produces, the specialty cheese, english muffins, organic milk, wine, treats for my daughter, and anything I crave at that moment of weakness. My daughter's favorite treat is the Trader Joe's Milk Chocolate Crisps...melted Belgium milk chocolate in the shape of potato chips, a unique tasty sweet treat. The creamy smooth chocolate "chips" is sprinkled with puffed and crispy rice, which added the crisp and crunchy combination texture in every bite. I don't know why they always ring that bell but it is cool I guess. The mini shopping cart is small enough to get around traffic from the aisles but big enough to hold your groceries and an amusement ride for my daughter (see pic). Now if they just fix that parking garage...it will be a 5 star.

Yelp
Shopping here is the worst part of my week but the food is so tasty that I can't resist. Not a fan of the crowded parking garage full of overly passive and/or elderly drivers. That parking garage director dude seems to do his best, but it's a tight space and parking can be very very difficult at peak times. But the lady we ran into last week really took the cake as far as weird Trader Joes patrons go. For reasons I can't understand, she brought her big dog, no service dog vest, and two kids under 5 shopping with her during rush hour on Sunday and was letting her dog sniff unopened bags of dog food and hang around the sample counter. I guess none of the employees had the balls to tell her to leave. TJ employees: there's a little thing called health regulations (no big deal, but kind of great if you don't want dog germs all over your food) that don't allow animals besides service animals in businesses that serve or sell food. I love my dog but I'm sure as hell not going to bring him into a grocery store and let him sniff a rack of bagels.
