The Best $10 Meals In LA

"We often think about where we’d be without Trader Joe’s grab-and-go meals, but then we stop ourselves because it gets too dark. If you aren’t eating a pre-made meal from LA’s favorite grocery store at least once a week, you’re either lying to yourself or have never had one of their spicy lentil wraps. Find us a better, more convenient $4 salad or wrap in the city. We’ll wait. Order: Pre-made salad or wrap, $3-$6." - brant cox

Google
Excellent store, very convenient location, and free parking for an hour and a half, which is enough time to shop more than once. Spotless inside, and when I asked the staff a couple of questions, they answered clearly and professionally, which makes you feel good. Great store with fresh products, I will come back.

Next the the Market is El Pollo Loco. Very convenient to shop at the Market and pick up delicious chicken from El Pollo Loco

6 days a week their employee starts from 7am to 9am using a leaf blower preventing people from sleeping, the store does not respond to comments, disregard for neighbors

Let me tell you about Trader Joe’s, the unsung hero of my crazy, action-packed life. Now, you might think Joe is just some guy with a Hawaiian shirt and a knack for stocking shelves, but oh no, Joe is more than that—Joe is the silent warrior behind my perfectly grilled chicken and those sneaky little mini rice cakes that keep me fueled for my next set of chest flies. I stroll into Trader Joe’s like I own the place, and Joe—let’s just call him the Obi-Wan of grocery stores—is always there to make sure I get what I need. Need some protein-packed yogurt? Joe’s got it. Low-calorie ketchup? Joe’s stashed it in aisle three like it’s some secret treasure only the worthy can find. Seriously, this guy might just be the key to my chiseled abs. But Trader Joe’s isn’t just a store—it’s my one-stop shop for keeping my body ready for whatever life throws at me. Whether it’s a mid-afternoon snack, a post-workout meal, or something to keep my girlfriend from glaring at me while I’m meal prepping, Joe’s got my back. So yeah, I guess you could say Trader Joe’s is kind of a big deal. And Joe? Well, he’s the MVP making sure I stay sexy and well-fed while I conquer the world—one grilled chicken breast at a time.

Google
Overall decent experiences at this Trader Joe’s, but my piece of feedback is regarding the poor and almost frantic line management. Please prioritize customers who have been waiting (and have less than 30 items). There needs to be a better system of checking out those who have been waiting longer and have fewer items.

My local TJ's. Usually very clean and not too crowded. I never have to wait in line behind more than one customer. The staff is always friendly, but I will note that always ask to see my ID when I buy wine even though I'm in my 40s and go there almost every day.

Google
My very favorite Trader Joe's of all Daniel is always so helpful with new product suggestions and Andy as well. Whether I go day or night I know I will get something extra special with those two working! They are always cheerful and so encouraging! I love this Trader Joe's because of them!

Sadness. It was so pet friendly before.

Yelp
Best TJs in the world! I love the choices and of course amazing people that make that place so special.

Yelp
Today, I stopped by Trader Joe's to pick up a few items and was once again surprised by the condition of the bathroom. It was very unclean, and honestly, it's disappointing to see a space in that state--especially knowing that maintaining cleanliness should be manageable. I also noticed several associates outside the restroom who didn't appear to be particularly busy at the time (though I understand they may have been occupied with other tasks). Still, the condition of the restroom felt unacceptable. One suggestion might be to keep some basic cleaning supplies inside the restroom so customers can help maintain cleanliness if needed. It's not ideal, but it might encourage people to clean up after themselves. I just wanted to share this feedback because it really stood out as something that needs improvement.

Yelp
I live in Atwater Village, but drive to West Hollywood for work. I stop by this location on the regular because I very much prefer it to the Silver Lake location. I always get a parking spot, it's not too crowded too often, in fact, it's comfortably quiet or busy most days. The layout is good and the staff has always been nice. I'm glad I work near this location for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
The current policy says one carton of eggs per person. If you are there with more than one person each person should be accounted for. This interaction was embarrassing and demeaning. I understand we need to restrict people buying 12 cartons of eggs during this shortage . But if two people are present they should be aware their sign is flawed and confusing. And not shame you at the check out counter. Patrons behind me were judging me while I was trying to understand this very flawed concept. If it's one per family. That's what the sign should say.

Yelp
Great selections / Great prices / Great quality ~ as expected at Trader Joe's! The employees are very helpful, too.

Yelp
I go to a few different Trader Joe's stores and this review is for all of them. Every TJ's I've been in has a lively atmosphere, is well-stocked, is staffed with friendly people and is an overall enjoyable experience (as grocery stores go) I can't get everything I want at TJ's but what I can get is specific to this chain of stores. I love their products. I'm a satisfied customer. I'll keep coming back!

Yelp
I had never been to this location before and needed to know where things were. Unfortunately, 2 of the employees ignored me, almost to the point of avoidance. A nice worker named Keyla assisted me in locating some Tahini. She was busy but stopped what she was doing to help me. She made the rest of my shopping trip pleasant. She made me laugh and feel comfortable. She is a real gem! I will return to this store knowing I will receive great service from this young lady. Great service thanks to her.

Yelp
Thanks to this branch of 'Trader Joe's,' of being here in West Hollywood, CA. I had to use the restroom before heading back to Downtown LA's 'The Music Center,' so I was able to easily locate this branch here. I decided to support this biz as well: who doesn't need anything from Trader Joe's?! We didn't even need to repark our car, because we found out it was down the same side of the street we parked on. What's more was: our meter parking time hasn't run out yet! Anyways, I ended up buying: Organic Green Tea, some dried fruits such as dried mangoes and a pack of seaweed snack. This branch is also just as clean and organized on top of being efficient. Will be back next visit down this region!!!! Thanks for being here, Trader Joe's of West Hollywood, CA.

Yelp
This is the BEST location because they always have everything in stock. The only downside here is the parking. Every time I come I have to wait for parking. Besides this everything is great, the employees are absolutely awesome!!! I will continue coming here regardless of the parking situation.

Jim P.

Yelp
Trader Joes is simply awesome. I wish x1000 that they had these in my town. I dont think I have ever gotten their version of anything that I did not like down to their in house beers. All great.

Yelp
Great service from the time you park to the time you are exploring around to shop. Got more than what I came for and even a box to carry the multiple flowers I picked up. First hour parking is free with validation but not sure of how much it is after an hour because I'm usually in and out bc mainly come to this one when the trader's by me is out of stock. It's my overstock Trader's lol

Yelp
I want to give a shout out to Denny who I believe is a manager at Trader Joe's/Santa Monica Blvd-West Hollywood . Without going into a lot of detail, Denny went above and beyond his job to be of great assistance to me. His empathy and compassion blew me away and I will never forget it or him. Trader Joe's is very lucky to have such an amazing employee like Denny to represent their brand. He's a great ambassador to any company; I will never forget his incredible kindness.

Yelp
5/5. Fresh selection and variety. It is fairly small, but it is great for convenience. It is reasonably priced and healthy with vegetarian options to choose from.
google avatar

Yelp
This location had a good selection of orchids in at least 3 different sizes. You can get mini orchids which I haven't seen elsewhere. There is a large parking lot in the back but it does get busy back there. On a weekday afternoon I did not have to deal with getting a ticket or parking validation. I wish all Trader Joe's locations were like this.

Yelp
love this place it has everything I need the best place to buy flowers , cheese, staff are very helpful

Yelp
This is my favorite Trader Joe's location of them all. TJ's is known for its notoriously bad parking. I never have trouble snagging a space here no matter when I stop by. The store is a little smaller than others, which makes it easy to navigate and get in and out quickly. For a smaller store, it has almost everything I could want -- I recently checked out the larger TJ's closer to La Brea, and found they didn't have as many of the items I find at this store. Staff has always been friendly to me, and I've never had to wait too long to check out. Love this location and will continue to frequent it!

Yelp
My favorite Trader Joe's location to shop in the area & it is close to my home. I like the layout of the store & they have a good size parking lot for customers outside the entrance. The employees are friendly & most helpful with recommendations.
google avatar

Yelp
I like this location since it's close to a lot of other shopping so I can get things done in one shot, and the other reason is that the 1-hour free parking lot is actually not too terrible! Used to the stores on Crescent, Vine, or SM Blvd. further east, this is a newer location for me, and I've visited more than enough times just in this year (yes, it's only January). Layout is fine, and although I had to ask where a few things were, the people working there were very helpful in tracking things down. And as others have said, the parking attendant guy (Stephon/Stephan?) has to be one of the nicest people I have dealt with in a long time. Manners are scarce out here, however he has always been polite with the little interaction I have had with him. For some reason, when someone I deal with for less than 10 seconds can make me smile, this stays with me for the rest of the night (or at least until I get home).

Yelp
One of my favorite Grocery store I like to buy for food from there because portions it's convenient for lunch or dinner , they have own parking spots , the store clean and neat and employees always ready to help you and they are friendly with honest opinions, respectful ,all of them flow CDC guidelines (( wearing face mask and gloves to protect themselves and us )). a lot of products with different flavor which give idea what's for dinner They cashier always smiling with senses humor
google avatar

Paulito O.

Yelp
clean facility and friendly staff. It's a good location but parking can get crowded. It can get quite busy a peak hours, I know the staff are friendly which is great, sometimes though people just want to get groceries paid for and get home.
google avatar

Shaniek D.

Yelp
This may be my favorite Trader Joe's so far. I love how big the store is and how much great stuff they have in stock. I'm a fan of this location and it's offerings. I'll be back.
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
I've come to this Trader Joes most of any for as long as I can remember. Over time, I've encountered a problem multiple times here thats becoming a little more consistent: they're out of things I'm planning on getting when I go there. Could just be my luck, but I have routinely Not had the same problem at the one further down Santa Monica next to Smart & Final or the one on Sunset. To be honest I go to the other ones when I can because of it rather than risk wasting time. Its not like its a bad store in any way but its still worth noting.

Derek R.

Yelp
BEWARE: FOOD POISONING AT THIS LOCATION I had the tomato soup from here. I know for a fact it was the soup. My boyfriend and I had eaten the same exact foods all week long. Always had meals together. I bought tomato soup here Saturday. I ate the soup and my boyfriend didn't have any because he wasn't hungry. By Sunday early in the morning I was VIOLENTLY puking and diarrhea. Seriously, thought I was going to die. I kept puking up the red tomato soup. I'm just starting to feel better now albeit very dehydrated. AVOID this location, clearly the staff aren't handling the foods properly, or there is a contamination with their soups.

Yelp
It's so sad watching this store getting worse and worse as time goes by. What happened to the amazing customer service Trader Joe's used to provide? And the explanation why they can't move their lazy asses for anything or anyone are just unbelievable! If there was a NO STAR or NEGATIVE STAR review, I'd do it right now. Somebody do something!!!!!
google avatar

Sam B.

Yelp
What a lovely Trader Joe's. If you are here you are probably already a fan of the chain market, like I am so I will skip the praise of Trader Joe's in general and focus on this location. The market was clean and well-stocked. It was easy to navigate and find what I want. They have their own lot (you can also park on the street). I was extremely impressed with the customer service here. They greeted me and helped me find what I needed. I think that's what makes this location very special. I would definitely come back here again. While I was here I tried a sample of their peanut butter granola which they had paired with strawberry yogurt. I highly suggest this combo if you are looking for something different for breakfast. Both items were kosher as well. Would definitely come back and purchase this.

grace d.

Yelp
Bought this spicy lentil wrap and thank the lord almighty I didn't consume it. I will no longer purchase anything at Trader Joe's I'm baffled at the quality of food they sell. Not only is this gross it smells like poop a doop! Steer clear! CAUTION DO NOT CONSUME FROM TRADER JOES! I gave it one star because the staff is awesome.

Yelp
One of the best things about TJ is .............drumroll please.............the WINE!!! I know what you may be thinking but bc they get smaller productions from wine producers and companies they get the wine priced well but also allows different styles of wine to be rotated through CHEERS
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
I love this location because the parking is convenient, the staff are super helpful, kind and friendly and they have everything stocked at all times! Victor was very helpful, kind and gave me an outstanding service this evening. This Trader Joe's never seems to disappoint! Also, they have beautiful plants and I highly recommend this location!

Yelp
I just want to please beg you guys to let employees use gloves for protection!!!!! Also protect them for they are also playing their part on these difficult times

Yelp
Whenever we're in Los Angeles, this location is our "go-to"spot because it's conveniently located to our home-away-from-home and has a fairly large inventory. We like marketing for Niman Ranch meats, fresh produce and cheeses here. TJ offers products for most dietary or nutritional needs. Since we don't have a Trader Joe's in Hawaii, we end up "stocking up" on TJ-branded edible goodies (cookies, almond butter and confections) and their French-milled soaps. Yeah, we're DEPRIVED! Now, most people can understand picking up edibles for snacking while we're on the road or to bring back home with us. However, we've gotten several odd looks and comments because we'll often buy at least 12 bars of soap (lemon-verbena, green tea, lavender and Tea Tree). Friendly cashiers who recognize that we're visitors have joked with us about really loving to bathe. Ha! We happily tell them we're not experiencing drought conditions like California. Oh, while shopping in this friendly market, take a moment to enjoy the music being played. It's often NOT Muzak "elevator music" but you'll find more popular and current genres and artists being featured. Looking around, I could see many patrons smiling, singing along and strolling down the aisles with a little "kick" in their steps.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Great service! Everyone I've encountered here is beyond polite, courteous, and positive. They offer sanitizer at the door and appear to keep everything clean. Really great for a quick shopping experience. Cashiers are friendly in the lines, but efficient and keep things moving. No chatfests while people are waiting. They also are attentive when things pick up and another cashier is needed. I just moved to the area and so far this is my favorite one.

Gregory G.

Yelp
I'll be generous & make my 2 a 2-1/2. I live near this WeHo store & have shopped here since it first opened. (I remember when this TJ's used to be WeHo City Hall). I used to walk there sometimes a couple times a day. However as the quality began to slip, I started shopping at Pavillions again, also on S.M. Blvd, but their prices have gotten seriously out of control. (Pavillions even started raising the prices on their backroom discount shelves!) May sound funny. but it's true. I could give you countess other examples of Pavillions overpriced stuff, but why bother? So I more recently introduced myself to Smart & Final for the 1st time, (also on S.M. Blvd in WeHo) & am very excited about both their products & their prices. And the prices of their fresh bakery goods are excellent. (Pavillion's prices for baked pies went from $8.99 to 9.99 to 10.99 to 11.99 to 12.99 & I think $13.99 now). I think TJ's frozen rice dishes have gone steadily downhill & not only taste from funny to bad, but the vegetables in the rice dishes, after heating, are tasteless & rubbery. Their "Peruvian" rice dish I tried recently was the worst yet. I've tried so many of their frozen dishes that are so bad that I threw them out, so I don't bother to "try" any of them anymore. So now I go to TJ's to buy my wines & their hard liquor when I need it. love their chocolate milk - it's the next best thing to a chocolate shake, & their fresh fruit & vegetables, cartoned juices, eggs, pasta sauce, some salad dressings, potato chips, some boxed cookies, English toffee, flowers & most importantly, doggie treats. So there's plenty for me to still drop by TJ's for, but they're no longer my first choice, which S&F has now become, even tho by default. But I can see that TJ's is still doing big biz at "my" location, so they're obviously doing very well without my reduced number of visits.

Anita Y.

Yelp
Unfortunately, if you've shopped at Trader Joe's you've seen the massive amounts of single-use plastic packaging. Plastic clamshells, wrappers, bags, trays... and most of it ends up polluting our environment. Please join us in asking Trader Joe's to reduce their ridiculous amount of plastic packaging!

Yelp
Thank God for Trader Joe's West Hollywood! Always a great experience, from the most wonderful parking attendant who is always smiling with welcoming me in by my name. Helpful staff and good food at great prices and wonderful checkers at the cash register.

Yelp
My local Trader Joe's has been an absolute delight to shop at during the pandemic. Rarely a line. Happy employees. Always stocked. Here's a pro tip for the yummiest, savoriest, easiest breakfast ever - the Shakshuka Starter. Thanks TJs!!
google avatar

Rob J.

Yelp
Is it possible for a parking attendant to make a shopping experience so lovely and revolutionary? There is a man with curly hair who always greets you with a genuine smile - he just radiates warmth. I've talked to other people and they feel the same way. The world is not the easiest place right now but this man immediately makes you feel special and happy. Well Mister, I want you to know you are special. Trader Joe's, this one is great. Talk about making grocery shopping life changing! :)
google avatar

Tammy E.

Yelp
Awesome little TJs in a great location! They had so much more in the prepared foods section than we get in WA state! We stopped by when we first got into town to stock our fridge with healthy goodies. I was super impressed with their sheer selection. Usually I am in and out of TJs in 10 minutes but we found ourselves enamored in each section and ended up being here for about 40 minutes filling our baskets. They were only out of stock of their sparkling wines - interesting! The lines were a bit longer than usual on a weekend but as usual they got everyone checked out in a timely manner. Good customer service as always!
google avatar

Catherine H.

Yelp
This has definitely got to be a first - reviewing a grocery store. But it's because this place and the people who work there are WORTH IT! I went during the coronavirus pandemic and what I thought was going to be really stressful and scary turned into quite possibly my best trip to Trader Joes to date. I am so impressed by how many people they limit to go in the store, the arrows on the ground telling you the flow of traffic, and the cleanliness measures they take in store. Everyone has on masks and gloves, you're not allowed to bring in your own reusable bags (they were super apologetic but they won't charge you for paper ones so its no biggie!) and everyone is careful to keep a friendly distance. Right before going in, I was about to wipe my own cart handle, when he informed me that any of the carts I was about to grab are good to use because they are hosed down and cleaned after each use (and there was evidence of that when I left too - they were really scrubbing them!) Maybe because there were so few people in the store when I went, but it was great. I didn't feel overwhelmed, I literally only had positive interactions from the moment I parked, especially during checkout with a lovely blonde girl (thank you for not judging me for my VERY full cart and being so nice about it!) and additionally the guy helping her bag asked if I was making banana bread (at first i thought huh?) I said no, he told me I grabbed too soft a banana and ran to the banana display to get me a NEW ONE - FOR FREE - I got both bananas. So cool. Anyways I now have a favorite Trader Joes in LA and I don't even care that it's a little far from my house, I'm never going to any other one now. Thank you essential TJ workers!!

Yelp
"Can I just say...and I mean this in the best possible way...this is the most anal retentive Trader Joe's I've ever shopped in." This is what I said to my checker in her Steelers jersey on this fine NFL football Sunday. First of all, the bathrooms at this location are superb! Clean, stocked, and fairly private if you have a shy bladder...and if you don't mind hearing the TJ's employees passing through the hallway outside. And the store! Let me tell you, this is the most logically organized Trader Joe's I have EVER shopped in. The minced garlic is stocked where all the seasonings are stocked! All the frozen potato items...ALL IN THE SAME PLACE! The shelves were fully stocked on a Sunday afternoon! What???? At my TJ's the minced garlic in the jar is on a low shelf with canned goods! Why would minced garlic be where canned goods are located? But not at the WeHo TJ's! No sir! You can find the minced garlic...in seasonings!!! This store is a joy to peruse through. I have shopped in many TJ's in my day and I have to say, this is my favorite! Logical, fully stocked, and clean! What more could you ask for? It's not in my 'hood, but I would consider making a trek here on the regular

Yelp
I don't think I've ever had a lousy experience here. Ever. They carry tons of great everyday products that suit me fine. The nuts are pricey, but that's everywhere. OH! One thing to avoid: ready-made pie crust (in the frozen section). I typically make my own, but thought, How bad can it be? Well, it was so revolting, I threw it out and wound up making it from scratch like I normally do. The staff here is always friendly. Gotta luv the bagel seasoning. OMG ridic.

B K.

Yelp
this happened before and today again long lines slow checkers people taking forever pa he's store, then a man I think a manager comes takes guy behind me to a new checkout helping him I was in line 20 mins waiting he takes guy who just walked up. Why are you not taking next person not last one rude and ridiculous
google avatar

Alec W.

Yelp
It's near where I live, it's near my gym, it's really convenient and it's a Trader Joe's. It literally has every single lunch breakfast dinner snack item I could possibly want. The employees here are nice, the parking lot is good (unlike the one at Westwood/National) and it's a Trader Joe's.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been living in West Hollywood for a little over a year and am a frequent Trader Joe's customer. This is going to change due to in the last six months, the staff's positive and helpful attitude has majorly gone down hill. While I must admit, it isn't the entire staff, but more than half. Today while shopping, I asked a staff member where the sunflower seeds were? He answered "YEAH WHAT?" I was shocked for a moment at how nasty he was. He then told me "They are over there, in the next aisle" I didn't bother to say thank you after the way he treated me. What has happened to your staff? On a whole, many do not greet the customer, smile or are remotely helpful. This is a big change from when I first started shopping here a year ago. I'm going to try the newer store, located at 7310 Santa Monica Blvd. to see if their staff is anymore courteous and helpful. I would be more than willing to talk to anyone in your management about this ugly situation. Very disappointed, Juliana Perel

Yelp
I'm the person that doesn't love Trader Joe's. There... you've found her. Really, I've walked into several of these stores and just left - buying nothing. I don't get the hysteria these places elicit. But this one isn't awful. At least, on a weekday afternoon before 5. There's a smallish parking lot (you need to get your ticket validated - we forgot but were only in the store for 10 minutes so the attendant nicely gave us a pass). The store is sort of oddly pie shaped, which doesn't really make the traffic flow any better I suspect, but it's an interesting idea. They have the usual stuff. It's not a particularly large location but you'll find enough organic frozen quiches or sea salt baked pita chips to keep you happy - and the requisite cheap wine selection. Our check out guy was very friendly and talkative - didn't even give us a speech when we sheepishly admitted we had forgotten to bring in our own grocery bags. So this wasn't a terrible experience. I do think given the location (downtown WeHo), this could be an absolute madhouse on the weekends. But if you MUST, this place is clean and staffed with friendly, helpful people.
google avatar

Angeline L.

Yelp
While I was browsing through the grocery store I found a bottle of wine named after me! How cute is that? The inventory at Trader Joe's makes this store extra special. Some of my favorite finds are the Indian cuisines, matcha teas and 90% cocoa bars. Trader Joe's supports not only local businesses but also global businesses! You'll never leave the grocery store without finding a unique product at a reasonable price!

Yelp
Wish I remembered the kind employee who rang me up so I could give her a shout out but unfortunately I'm an idiot and forgot... Although this Trader Joes is rather small the employees are always so genuinely sweet and take enough time where you don't feel rush but fast enough to get everyone through quickly. I live nearby so I like to do my morning run and end at TJs, then walk back with my groceries. The employees always pack my bags perfectly so that I never worry about the crushing or breaking during my walk. And I never feel uncomfortable even though I'm usually red and sweaty from my run. In addition, the times where I do drive it's always pretty easy to park, despite the parking lot's small size. I also really appreciate the parking attendant how gives and takes your ticket as you leave. Quite honestly this TJs embodies the relaxed LA spirit that I love which I probably why when me and my roommate are bored we treat ourselves to a snack night and start it by coming here. Thanks for all that you do kind humans!
