Mighty Quinn’s Is Adding Two Madison Square Garden Locations | Eater NY

"Taking over the Guastavino-tiled former Food Emporium space under the Queensboro Bridge, Trader Joe’s will occupy a distinctive, vaulted location that had previously seen Michael’s in talks to lease it." - Tanay Warerkar

Visiting Trader Joe’s for the first time was an enjoyable experience, thanks to my friend’s enthusiasm for the store. While I wouldn’t say I share her level of obsession, I can certainly appreciate the appeal. The staff was genuinely courteous, contributing to a positive atmosphere. My only drawback was the store’s crowding, which made navigating the aisles a bit challenging. Overall, it was a good experience that I would consider repeating.

Google
This Trader Joe is smaller than most store (I think 🤔) it doesn’t have too much product. I was really fast in and out.

I love TJ's! They have unique and yummy food and snack options. Staff is always helpful and friendly. They need a bigger store in a less congested area. It can be challenging to get in and out of the parking lot. I'm completely addicted to the coconut flavored almonds. The trail mixes are very yummy. Loved the gyro meat. So many great options. The pound chocolate bar is incredible.

Google
This Trader Joe’s felt bigger than other Trader Joe’s I’ve been too. I also ready enjoyed the artwork of the cows on the beach and the cypress trees

On 07/27/24 was our first time to visit this location. I haven't been to Trader Joe's in years. They have such a variety of items. We ended up buying the Gimbap rolls, Green onion pancakes, Soup dumplings, Salt water taffy, Sour gummies, Chocolate candy bars, and a few other items. 🙂 The cashier that checked us out, he was very nice and he wore a very cool Dia de los muertos colorful shirt with skulls on it. I know that when I go back, I want to buy the Trader Joe's chocolate croissants. They're supposed to be very good. I would highly recommend coming here to see what all they have available.

Google
They have everything you need to survive and thrive as a human! I love their sweet potato gnocchi, taquitos, power berries, and if you need pure personal care products, TJs is the place to go! I'm a decades long TJs shopper and always will be.

Google
Found you!! 🤗 Amazing store with a great selection. Found out.. they did discontinue my favorite Lobster 🦞 Ravioli 😢 hoping maybe they'll come back at a later date! 🙏🏼 So, I tried the Pesto ravioli since they were out of the mushroom, it wasn't bad just not my lobster or mushroom! Ill be back 💯

It's that time of year....Trader Joe's chili is my go to for my meatless chili, spices, etc.

Yelp
This is a new TJ's in the area and the layout is spacious compared to other TJ's. I love to go when it's the Fall time as they have many specials only found this time of year. I also enjoy all the unique products they carry. They have plenty of staff to help at times and they go out their way to help. All things pumpkin right now.

Yelp
Today I actually saw for the first time what people love about this place. I went in just looking for flowers, and there were SO many, so reasonable, and lovely! Every single staff member that I came across talked to me and asked if I needed help. There were so many people in there so it was overwhelming but I really enjoyed the customer service and the abundance of reasonable flowers.

Yelp
Always a great experience. Customer service on point. my only my only complaint is please bring back the baby kale.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
I still wish they would put a store in the Jacksonville area so I don't have to drive 1 1/2 hrs to shop. The outside is clean. The inside is clean. Employees are helpful. Though a few of my products have been discontinued I still find yummy things. I love the peanut butter cups for .99. I give them as a thank you when I travel. They are also a sweet treat for hotel staff overseas. I love the sweetened dried oranges, great price. love the individual quiches. This time I picked up beautiful sunflowers for $4.99. Thank you for not taking away the Indian frozen food. To the staff- 5 stars.

Yelp
Had a great experience, as usual. This location really knows how to keep things running smoothly. The hot food bar was packed, but the staff kept everything stocked. Impressive teamwork.

Yelp
We love Trader Joe's. Unfortunately we don't have one in Augusta so I'm always on the lookout for a Trader Joe's in any city that we visit. Today, they had a little sampling station of graham cracker with honey goat cheese, and it was delicious. I'm glad I got to sample the cheese because I wouldn't have purchased it without trying bc I don't typically care of goat cheese. We purchased a lot of meats for a charcuterie board and my husband can't go to Trader Joe's without buying a ton of snack food, including the brownie or brookies if they have them. I was hopeful to find some Birria today but they didn't have any or the tiny chocolate chip cookies.

Hallie E.

Yelp
I love Bianca that's all. She's so cute give her a raise . I also enjoy the macaroons . Keep it up, Joe.

Yelp
This is your typical Trader Joe's store. If you like TJ's you will like this location. The shelves are always stocked and as with any TJ's it is a credit to their employees that this happens as the stores are never empty. At this store I have been impressed with the number of cashiers that are available at all times. The store is busy but the wait to check out is never long. They have all your TJ favorite meals and plenty more to try. I great experience and again if you like TJ's you will not be disappointed with this location.

Yelp
Can't even say how thrilled I am to live in a city with a TJ's now that I'm a Wilmington resident as of the last 24 hours!! Of course it HAD to be my first stop today for some grocery items to get me through the week until move in day Friday. Didn't stock up on all my usual favs (gyoza, Indian frozen meals, trail mix, fresh veggies, sweet treats, wine) but instead a few quick meal items, as pictured. As always, the store is well maintained with the characteristic Trader Joe's layout, signage and friendly staff. Can not wait to make this a regular stop on my grocery run and explore all the lovely season things in addition to remaining stocked with all my usual staples. No more planning trips with friends to travel to my nearest TJs - hooray!

Gloria S.

Yelp
I went to Trader Joes looking for the lobsters so I could get my prize. I wasn't sure how many lobsters there were so I asked an employee and she said "umm we don't have lobsters, we have Seahawks" and I look up to the left corner and guess what I see....a lobster! I cannot believe I was lied to and manipulated like that. Then, I went off searching for the Seahawks. After hours of arduous searching, I found them! I went up to receive my prize and all I got was......a lollipop Please rethink your prizes and stop discriminating against lobsters Thank you

Yelp
This is the only Trader Joe's in Wilmington, but it is a good one. I've been here many times, but over the past week I came in several times. I came in and bought fresh roses for my wife and I was super surprised at the affordable cost of a dozen roses. They also had different kinds and sizes. You can spend between $4-11 on flowers. I also came in to buy ginger beer for some Moscow Mules I was planning to make and I highly suggest the ginger beer here. It is spicy and tasty. The ginger beer they have in stock is non-alcoholic, which was a slight disappointment. They have a small, but good selection of beers and wines in the store. I would say the largest negative about Trader Joe's is the parking here. The lost isn't too big and it seems to always be busy. Due to its location there always seems to be traffic. Besides traffic and the parking lot this is a great place to buy groceries.

Yelp
The people who work at Trader Joe's are Saints. Sweet, helpful, knowledgeable and most importantly they all have a wonderful sense of humor. Love interacting with them. Whether it's talking about how to prepare something or their favorite secrets about products, they take tremendous pride in what they do. Also, as a single person the portion size is better here than anywhere else. Keep up the great work but please open another store in Porters Neck to capture the Hampstead market.

Yelp
Trader Joes is forever my favorite grocery store! This location, specifically, is great for their large stock and wide variety of seasonal items. They also have plenty of beautiful, well kept flowers and eucalyptus arrangements! Like every Trader Joes, the parking lots are small and if you go at 5 o'clock on a Monday it may be hectic. Just don't do that silly! The staff work quickly though, even in the busiest of times, and I've never waited more than 7 minutes even during rush hour. They're polite, funny and know how to multitask efficiently. A+ for staff here! TJ's often has really unique items and all natural and/or organic options for the lowest prices in town! My favorite items I consistently purchase and would highly recommend would be the organic free range chicken wings, extra cream gouda, stuffing kettle chips (Fall seasonal), wild frozen blueberries, organic kale in the bag, pink lady apples, cranberry juice, greeting cards, and organic apple cider vinegar. There's so much more but that's the best of it. I wouldn't recommend coming here hungry or you will spend double what you were planning. I always do, anyways! Favorite store hands down.

Yelp
I love this trader joes! Every time I go, I am always greeted and met with wonderful workers that are there to give guidance to where products are and give great suggestions of new products. They also always have a great produce selection.

Yelp
Best prices great wine selection and quality food. Also. Friendly staff and great service

Jinnette H.

Yelp
We absolutely love our Trader Joe's store. Everyone is very friendly and helpful! I do a majority of my weekly shopping here bc of the variety of quality goods and a lot of merchandise when one has a more restrictive diet! They are very creative and offer samplings of many foods for you to try and then they become a household staple- garbanzo beans by TJoe's and mix with Taboulli salad!

Yelp
We stopped at this Trader Joe's when we googled it and that there was a Trader Joe's in town. We just flew in after a red eye flight for the 1st time in the Carolina's area. When we got to the cashier, we just did small talk and letting her know that we just got into the area from CA and it's on my Birthday. Before we left, the cashier said I'll be right back. She came back and got me this cute flower bouquet for my Birthday. Wow what a nice welcome to Wilmington. Cashier was great and great service. We always love Trader Joe's. I think they have the best snacks and food there.

Yelp
Parking is always chaotic. So that alone, it's craziness before you even walk in. When a package is damaged and after dealing with oat milk all over my counter and floor, the last thing I want to hear from a TJ employee is that replacing the item will take time IF I don't have a receipt. When I called to ask about a replacement (not choosing a different item/replacing the same item), she made it seem like it will be a big hassle, explaining all the "steps". For a simple exchange? They will need to "look" for my receipt despite the container having Trader Joe's written on it. And the woman's exact words are "it could take some time". (All for a simple exchange of a product where TJ packaged poorly?) I'll stick to Whole Foods and Fresh Market. Lesson for Management: This is how smaller stores like TJ loses business to Whole Foods.
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
The staff at this TJ's are so genuinely nice! My very social kids and I appreciate their smiles and upbeat attitudes and stickers, of course. The location is great but the parking lot is a bit crazy. Thanks for always saying "hi" to strangers, it really does make a difference on where I want to shop!
google avatar

Yelp
I love this store. So many awesome things to try. Lots of organic food options. Beautiful flower bouquet. The staff are so nice.

Yelp
It was my first time visiting this location but it was much nicer than my own and more spread out. I liked going and it not being slammed pack. Our cashier was also friendly in conversation while checking us out. Everything was fully stocked and fresh. Won't mind stopping here again when we come back thru.

Shelly P.

Yelp
I went to Trader Joe's the other day. I am vegan and was excited to discover what vegan foods they had. However it was so cold in the store it was impossible to shop comfortably. It was akin to being in a very cold walkin refrigerator. All of the employees had sweatshirts on and looked dressed for artic weather while the outside temp was 80 degrees. I'm not sure why any manager would keep the store so cold other than to see how high the power bill can go. We left and went a mile down the street to Whole Foods and shopped there.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
I just have to give Trader Joe's a big shout out for their wonderful managers and employees. They are always so helpful and always have a big welcoming smile on their faces. Prices are great, too.

Yelp
Always great service & new wine choices. Can always find something new & interesting to try. Live this place!

Yelp
Listen, I love Trader Joe's! And the people at this Trader Joe's are very friendly and helpful. That being said, it's location is on the worse intersection I have ever seen! Unless you go super early right when they open or you go within an hour or two of when they are closing, good luck getting in and out. The only exception is if you are going right in and right out. They shelves are always stocked and the meat, produce and dairy is always fresh! Taking off one start for location...

Yelp
Always love going into shop. Great service and always provides lots of choices. #cookiedough

Yelp
Just got back from the store super excited for my Mango mochi and opened my box to find this! Total disappointment.

Yelp
Love!! Omg I just love Trader Joe's! Out of the many markets that I shop this is by far my all time fav! The prices are really good and in comparison to other markets it's just hard to beat. The variety of foods is amazing and things you'd never think to buy are right here in this fabulous little market waiting for you! So, I went in not intending on purchasing much , but before I knew it my cart was full! One thing I will say is I love fresh fruit and veggies! The avocados were nice and I was sure to grab some due to the price! You'll find many items in here from pastas, meats, breads, danishes , fruit , wine, sauces, vitamins and such. Not only that but they have a selection of beers and wines. We did grab two bottles of wine one white and one red for yes don't laugh $4 But! Before you go saying omg eww let me just say I will pay $28 for a bottle so I thought why not! Hands down I was blown away by the taste! Both bottles were good! So, when you go into Trader Joe's don't think that due to some of the low prices it doesn't taste good. It does! Lol Next I've feel in look with the white bean and basil humus oh dear it's just knock out lip smacking good! So grab some if you haven't already tried it! Oh! You can sample items as well and at times they are cooking things for you to try! There's samples of coffee as well!

Yelp
I LOVE Trader Joes! Very nice and open market. Manageable prices for a "boutique" market. Friendly, clean looking staff who are helpful and lots of options in a tight footprint. My last favorite boutique grocery (which shall remain nameless) was pretty much a piercing and tat convention. And I have nothing against that - but you're handling food. Call me crazy, but if it goes from your hand to my mouth, you better look like you just came outta medical school. (No cadavers in my chicken salad, please!) :-)

Gretchen T.

Yelp
I like the quaintness of the store. I'm not a label, brand driven buyer. It makes shopping quicker having mostly, Trader Joe brands. They have everything you need at a great price with excellent quality. I also like the associates, they are filled with great suggestions
google avatar

Barry L.

Yelp
A unique food market. The staff is very well trained. Helpful, caring and super friendly. Great variety of conventional and organic products. Many items you can only find at Trader Joe's. Many items are priced less than you could find anywhere else.

Kyle G.

Yelp
ok so i love trader joe's so i won't make this a one star but my cashier bagged all $50 worth of my groceries in one bag and he even saw that it ripped and still gave me it with no possible way for me to carry the bag using the handles, and he has the audacity to say "oh it ripped" like yea no shit it ripped maybe try putting some in another bag?? BUT, that was my fault because i should've said something but at the same time when he saw the bag ripped he should've done something, and it was my mistake for trusting my groceries wouldn't be damaged. in the pic i provided it shows how he bagged it and literally my eggs and bread are thrown in sideways and were squished and some of my eggs cracked so that's why im writing this. im sorry but my nan could bag better, and she has dementia.

Yelp
One of the criteria of moving from the west coast to Wilmington was that there had to be a Trader Joe's nearby. I love Trader Joe's - they have some of the most interesting fresh and frozen foods that aren't too expensive, so you can try a variety of items which may soon be incorporated into your weekly cooking repertoire. I have made entire meals and hosted big cocktail gatherings with only foods from TJ's. There are foods for any kind of diet or allergy issues and the prices aren't exorbitant. From frozen pizza to fresh basil plants to awesome lavender bath salts to private label champagne to cheeses- the assortment of groceries and general merchandise is wide and delicious. Greeting cards are all 99 cents- and perfect for every occasion. I stock up so I always have the right card on hand. TJ's staff is super friendly and they like to engage with you at the cashier station as you check out. If you don't like talking to real people, then you may want to send someone else in to do your shopping. The staff are from all over and I even met 2 whom I knew from the Torrance,CA store. The only reason I am not giving TJ's a 5 star review is that the bagged vegetables just don't have a long shelf life and I find myself throwing out salads and other veggies that have gone bad. Parking is fine- there are plenty of spaces (at least when I shop in the mornings). If you haven't checked Trader Joe's out- give it a try!
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
I'm a pretty big fan of all Trader Joe's in general. This one seems to have the least hectic parking lot. Don't ask me how because it is a very busy intersection in a highly populated area but I have never had any horrible experiences in this parking lot, unlike most TJ's. The staff here is awesome, especially the management who always take a minute to check in and chitchat while I shop. I know it's kind of a cult but somehow the work culture at TJ's is so warm and fun I can't help but get on board with the good vibes! If you are vegan or gluten-free check out Instagram because there are many pages dedicated to specialty items you can find at Trader Joe's. It really makes your shopping a lot more fun and interesting. I love shopping here because I don't get into a rut as far as my diet goes. There is always something new to try. I appreciate their commitment to non-GMO and natural ingredients.

Yelp
Trader Joe's is my first choice for buying groceries. Yes the location of the Wilmington store is terrible and parking is a bitch but I found if you go right before opening or closing hours it's a lot less chaotic. If you have never been here you are missing out. Not only is everything super cheap, like maple toffee sunflower seeds for .99 or bananas for .19 but the quality of the brand name products is also amazing even the freezer items like mac and cheese bites, and truffle pizza. I also buy fresh flowers here weekly because it's easier than actually cleaning my house and they are $3.99! I know for a fact you can't get flowers for that price anywhere else in town. The only thing I do not buy here is meat. For some reason every time I try to purchase chicken or beef it seems to go bad way too quickly. That being said I brought the meat back each time and was refunded even without a receipt. Customer service here is amazing and Trader Jose's goes out of the way to make sure you have a pleasurable and memorable shopping experience. Tip: You can sample anything here, even the wine. Just ask! I tried this the other day with some dried jack fruit I was considering adding to my cart. The employee grabbed a bag, handed me one and proceeded to distribute the rest to other shoppers. Another one of the many reasons why I love shopping here.
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
This Trader Joes is always well stocked, the staff is super friendly, if you cant find something, they will help you in an instant. The store is very well laid out (about the same layout as most TJ's) and it is very clean. The parking lot is awful, but that seems to be a running thing with all the TJ's I have been too. This is one of my go too grocery stores in the are.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Ah, TJ's... here is my belated welcome-to-the-neighborhood review, hopefully better late than never. Firstly, I am not giving you five stars for the following reason: I believe you are putting addictive chemicals in your white cheddar corn puffs. This is the only explanation possible for my ability to plow through an entire bag of what is basically flavored packing material in one day. No, but seriously - the real reasons for the docking of one star are a) I would love to see an increase in organic options (and a larger selection of produce in general), and b) some of my favorite things have a tendency to disappear from your shelves at random never to return, and that's just really hard on a girl. But mostly the produce thing :) Also - ditto those who've mentioned this corner location as being less than ideal. Getting in and out (and then having to inevitably make a U-y or go around the block to get where you're headed) tends to be a hassle. Now that that's out of the way, allow me to shower you with love and kudos. First of all, you must be using some killer, super-secret algorithms to hire THE FRIENDLIEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. Seriously - what are you feeding them at the beginning of their shifts? Because your staff consistently rocks my socks. Also, my bank account thanks you for your across-the-board amazeballs pricing, and my taste buds thank you for stocking your shelves with all variety of thoughtfully selected (and sometimes downright exotic) offerings. Thank you for making a paraben-free shampoo that costs less than $5 a bottle, and a zippy sparkling sake that's equally easy on the wallet. Finally, walking in your doors to a face (and nose) full of flowers is brilliant. No matter how terrible my day is, these buckets and buckets of buds perk me right up. And then one of your staff says "hello!" and I'm done for. So here's your proverbial apple pie and ambrosia salad - enjoy settling in, and I'll definitely be back for many a visit soon :)

Yelp
This is a "real" review of this place, not the constant glowing reviews posted by employees and friends of such. THIS STORE SUCKS!! DO NOT GO HERE!! Several months after it opened, I went to see what all the fuss was about. I didn't get it. The dirty, unkempt employees never leave you alone to shop and are constantly asking what you are looking for. Go away and let me shop! Here's one encounter of many during my only and nevermore visit to this cult grocery. "OH, Are you looking at our wine collection, it's the best in the world and we have the best cheese ever to go with those wines. What wine are you looking for, cuz it's the best and we have some great crackers and chips to go with that wine and cheese and do you like hummus, cuz ours is the best! The best! Can I show where those are?!" The staff never leaves you alone. Ever! Walking around that store is akin to being on a free time-share weekend in Myrtle Beach. No peace. No time for personal thought. They are like a Cult of Groceries, and mediocre ones at that. Look, they can order their minions to bomb this board with glowing reviews with veiled advertisements for their products, but clear-headed people like me see through this idiocy instantly. I'm not sure what's wrong with these people, but I haven't been in their presence since. (I was particularly disconcerted by the "greeter" during the fake "hiring fair" they had. He aggressively propositioned every woman who came through the door to apply for a job. And as he danced around, physically danced around in front of these poor women and telling them how "cool" and "awesome" he was, I could see the discomfort in the women's faces, some actually walked out.. He was the Creepiest Piece Of Crap I've seen in a while. Trader Joes. Creeps and annoying people at your service.) I wish Yelp allowed Zero Stars. But I'm sure the Cult of Trader Joes will bomb the hell out of me for speaking the truth. (Update, 3-30-17... I was bombed with hateful email and threats when I first posted this review, but now the Trader's Cultists have stepped up their game! They have my phone number, my email and my home address. Many threats.)

Yelp
Great store, wide isles and well stocked, no loud speakers or music

Yelp
I love TJs! I moved to Wilmington in July 2012 and was very disappointed with the terrible grocery options. I only enjoyed shopping at Whole Foods, but could not afford to shop there too often. When TJs opened a few months ago, I was very happy! It's always a pleasant shopping experience for me. Workers are much more pleasant than any other place in town and prices are competitive. Parking does sort of stink here. I always go during the day on weekdays, so I have been lucky enough to find a spot whenever I go. Therefore, they do not lose a star from me.
google avatar

Kristin W.

Yelp
The parking lot is atrocious. Every time I visit I get dinged. Tonight especially. The dude got out and said I did a bad parking job, when he blatantly hit my car really hard! And didn't apologize for being shitty! Terrible parking! I'm taking my business to Harris teeter.its not worth the regular car dings for the shitty customer service and poor grocery bag bagging. Not going back. This place is aweful.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
I make a monthly trip to Joe's, there are a few things I just gotta have. TJ's ketchup is great, no corn syrup Cheddar Horseradish chips are just really good. Some of their boxed soups are worth a try. Frozen Dover sole is only $7 a pound, a steal. Frozen cod is good too. The rest of the food I can do without, especially the frozen foods. Almost all of them are salt and/or fat bombs. Check out their "vegetable bird nests", each ONE has 30% of your daily sodium. Read the labels before purchasing.
google avatar

Donna H.

Yelp
Love the nuts, vegetables, wine selection. It's a real positive addition to grocery stores in the area.

Shawna D.

Yelp
My favorite place in the whole world. They have so many good things to choose from. Try the kringle or the chili garlic crunch omgosh, so good.

Liu C.

Yelp
Not as good as they used to be. The prices have gone up. And my favorite potstickers don't taste the same anymore. Too bad.
google avatar

Saba S.

Yelp
Wish their selection of beef was better. Standard Trader Joe's with health food and organic choices. Love the 2 Buck Chuck (Charles Shaw) wine selections! Yes, it's $2.99 a bottle...three please! Very concerned customer service. Will be here again.
google avatar

Charlotte R.

Yelp
Trader Joe's is one of my favorite places to grocery shop in Wilmington. I'm a college student, so I like to save money but I also want to eat healthy. Trader Joe's has great prices on produce which helps me to save $5 or so on my grocery bill when I go there. The workers at Trader Joe's are always very pleasant and helpful. I always have positive experiences when I go. If you've never been to a TJ's, you should know that some things are priced very well while other things can be a bit expensive. The only downside to Trader Joe's is that the store is fairly small and it's usually crowded when I go there. Other than that, absolutely love love love!
google avatar

Yelp
Trader Joe's has many unique and tasty foods for sale and for that reason I'll continue shopping here once in a while. My big beef is with the check out procedure. I've been here many times and almost every time the check out clerks are too chatty There is nothing wrong with being friendly, I think it's a good thing but here are some of the things that I've encountered when I've checked out at this store. One time, the check out person found out the customer was having a birthday, so she not only chatted about it an overly long time, she left her line of 4 other customers to go get the birthday girl some complimentary flowers. Another time, the check out clerk started talking to the customer about a moisturizer she was buying. They had a really long conversation about how good the moisturizer is, how inexpensive, how good. Etc... Another time, the clerk asked me what I was doing with the rest of day. Way too personal. How about check me out quickly, be friendly and say have a nice day. No extreme chit chat.

Just had the nicest experience with Ann at the register. She asked how we were and was super friendly, we told her my family dropped off my youngest brother at college this morning and she gave my mom a bouquet of flowers on the house! Such a sweet gesture. The employees here go above & beyond. Love this place!
