The house noodle is the thing to order here. Food is solid. The lady owner speaks Mandarin with a hint of a dialect that I can't identify. Parking is in the back of the restaurant. The entrance doesn't face the street anyway. When you enter, there's a bunch of big tables that seem to be outdoors, but there's a high covering. Inside there is more seating. When I went up to pay with credit card at the register, I noticed all the board games on the shelves. They had quite a collection. Come here for solid numbing spicy noodle soup!

Google
The House Special Guilin Noodles are an absolute must if you're a fan of spicy food, even if you can only handle a hint of heat! The mild spiciness was perfect for me and added an extra kick to the dish. Not only is there seating available inside, but they also have plenty of outdoor seating options. And let me tell you, the lady who was working there was unbelievably kind. Her hospitality made the dining experience even more enjoyable. I'm already looking forward to going back for another visit.

Friendly waitress that treats you like family. Vegetarian option upon request and affordable. I always get the rice noodle dish with the bean curd toppings, pickled vegetables, green onions, and peanuts. I think the sauce has a Szechuan flavor to them. Yum! Noodles are full of flavor with spices and you get to choose the level of spiciness. Some people have trouble finding parking. It's in back of TS Emporium parking lot and next to Bank of America.

Google
Great food, had their spicy beef noodle for a while. The old couple running the shop are super sweet. Always worth supporting this restaurant as they keep prices low

Google
A good place to enjoy rice noodles. The portion size was quite big. There is nice outdoor seating as well. We also got the cucumber salad but the taste was not as refreshing as expected.

Google
🇨🇳 (Guangxi) CHINA (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - In the city of Guilin and surrounding towns, you will find vendors and restaurants setting out different types of thinly cut meats and all the other standard ingredients of the dish that are combined after ordering. The meats depend on which vendor you choose and run the gamut, but here in Monterey Park the house special Guilin rice noodles ($9.99) have beef and pork belly. Mix it all up with the pickled vegetables, peanuts, and sauce and you have an excellent economical meal.

Yelp
I was craving noodles but remembered 1919 is closed today. So I went back to a previous post of mine here and I finally made it to Traditional Guilian Noodles on Garfield and Garvey. Wow. I cant believe I've slept on this spot for so long!!!!! When I came in, the lady seemed so happy to see me, she was going on and on in Chinese. (I get it. I'm Asian and it is Monterey Park lol but I am Korean, not Chinese) it made me sad to tell her I am not Chinese. But I did. And she still ushered me to a table and gave me a menu. She recommended the #1 house special so I got that. With soup. Medium spice (next time im gonna try the numbing spice) I am not a fan of peanuts, I should have asked for no peanuts, but other than that this is amazing! Idk how I slept on this place for so long!!!! Its pretty dead, only 1 customer came in after me and is still sitting here eating. Beef AND bacon?! Whaaaat?!?! But this is perfect for me rn. I just wanted noodles and some alone time. If you havent checked this place out, please do so!!! I just wish there was boba near by. Ill need to come with a Chinese speaking person next time so I can try other dishes. My new favorite spot.

Yelp
I LOVE this place and it's just such an easy lunch. I can vouch for one thing and one thing only-- hot and sour beef rice noodles (dry, no soup) + I've only ever ordered togo, never ate there. They have a huge lot and plenty of seating though! For drinks I also really like their house made herbal tea (very herbal, medicinal acquired taste) and chrysanthemum tea (light, fragrant taste). I've tried their signature house noodle before but the special bacon pieces make it too salty for me. This hot and sour is perfect for me, no extra frills. They used to give you the sauce on the side (wedged inside the box) but recently the sauce comes mixed for you already!! It comes with meat, lettuce, picked string beans, peanuts, garlic and a sauce that is more fragrant than spicy. If you want it actual spicy then probably something like their Szechuan Mala flavor or selecting "Very Spicy" would be better for you. I personally like it like this where it's fragrant spicy (maybe considered medium spice max) + vinegar for a balanced combo. If you've never had Guilin noodles before their rice noodles have this "bouncy" feeling to them that I really enjoy. It's soft and slightly chewy. Together with the meat and the pickled veggies and the sauce mixed together ... it's just so so good!! The auntie who works there is super sweet and my food is usually made pretty quickly!!

Yelp
Our favorite Guilin Noodles restaurant is in Monterey Park. We've been there many times, and their food is solid. The weather was so comfortable on Sunday so we sat at the outdoor patio. We ordered the following items this time: -3 orders of House Special Guilin Rice Noodles -dry noodles ($13.99 each x3) -1 Beef Stew Rice Noodle in soup ($13.99) -1 Fish filet Guilin Noodle -dry noodles ($12.99) -1 Combo 3 special side dishes ($11.99) -1 sweet chrysanthemum tea ($2.75) -1 Sweet Winter Melon Tea ($2.75) My hubby and our daughters also liked the House Special Guilin Rice Noodles, and they order the same thing every time. The portions were generous and big. My mom also liked the fish filet Guilin Noodle, the fish filet pieces were cut into small pieces though. I ordered something different this time and the beef stew rice noodle in soup was very delicious and flavorful. I wish that they had more beef stew, and the noodles in soup had fewer noodles than dry noodles. If you don't have a big appetite, then I would suggest you to order the noodles in soup instead. For the combo 3 special side dishes, we chose pig ear, cucumber, and pickled shredded potato. The pig ear and the pickled shredded potato were very spicy, and I could only eat the cucumber. The Chrysanthemum tea was not sweet at all. Winter melon tea was a bit sweeter and tasted better than Chrysanthemum tea. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Yelp
Camw for lunch, there werent many customers but I hope they stay open since we enjoyed our lunch! ---Pig ear cold appetizer: thicker than I'm used to and the hubby really liked it ---iced chrysanthemum tea: i used to love a sweeter version of this as a child but have never found another restaurant who serves it until now! SO REFRESHING and nostalgic ---noodle dish: i can't remember which noodle dish we ordered but the waitress recommended a dry noodle the hubby and I shared and we really liked it ---wings: crispy but had an odd flavor, so this was the only dish we didn't like We've been meaning to come back but haven't had the time!

Yelp
A little hidden restaurant located in the back of a plaza. It's next to BOA and TS Emporium. They have a huge outdoor patio area and a few tables inside. Service: When we first sat down, the waitress (an elder lady) was pretty attentive towards us since we were the only table there. But as we dined, more and more people started coming in and it was very apparent that she could not handle the rush by herself. An older gentleman from the kitchen had to come out to assist by dropping off orders. When we were finished, we asked for the bill and were ignored for a good 5 minutes. We even went up to the register and stood there but the lady was too busy. Food: We ordered * the house special guilin noodles (dry) * the marinated duck noodle soup * fried steamed bun * a 3 item side (pickled seaweed, pickled shredded potato, and pickled cucumber) Everything was good but my favorite was surprisingly the fried steamed buns. I liked how they did not dilute the condensed milk. Maybe I came during a bad time when they didn't have enough staff working. I will definitely return for the food though!

Sunnie M.

Yelp
My mom and I always come here for their noodles! Service is good and food comes out fast. They can customize however spicy you want it too! Food is consistently delicious. My mom loves the roasted peanuts. The restrooms are a little spooky, though. They're dispatched from the restaurant, in the back and it's always very quiet and eerie.
google avatar

Lily N.

Yelp
Very mid. Not sure how all the reviews are 5 stars. Came on a weeknight and it was absolutely dead. No people, empty. Noodles came out fast but we couldn't finish it. It just didn't taste that great. They were very very average noodles. Service is nice, price is fine.
google avatar

Yelp
Now this is a place I'd call an SGV gem! Not sure but it was pretty empty when I came and seemed to be run by just two or three people in total. Was very quiet and modest, what you'd expect of a restaurant in the SGV. Just come here and get their house special Guilin noodles; comes in 2 variety of noodles (rice or egg, I recommend rice) and ~3 soup flavors (normal(3 levels of spicy), numbing spicy, or sour spicy). The bowl is pretty big and a good amount of noodles and toppings. It should get you full and makes for a pretty nice soup option in cold weather.

Yelp
This place never fails for legit guilin noodles that are satisfying, filling, and perfect bang for your buck. In light of being next door to the former dance studio with a sad past, they could definitely use all the support they can get! Service is quick and attentive. There's usually only a couple of people working the restaurant, but during down times it's not an issue. If that's not enough, they also have a wide selection of board and card games for groups that come by to kill time while waiting or eating! Their namesake house special guilin noodles are still unbeatable, with the perfect balance of numbing spicy and beefy flavor in a rich broth to hold the tender, chewy noodles and thinly sliced beefs. With all the extra toppings and spices, it's something you won't find anywhere else aroundhere. The beef stew hot pot is equally as delicious in its own right. There's definitely a pronounced herbal hint to it, but a nice balance of spices brings out the best of the tender beef pieces and beef tendon throughout the stew. It comes served with a side of rice, perfect for soaking up all the sauce in the stew. The stew is definitely portioned for 2 people, with more than enough to satisfy. I'll definitely continue to come here and eat up all the guilin noodles I can!

Yelp
This place is amazing. The number 1 is my go too The noodles are chewy and perfect They have the numbing spice which I love for Szechuan food' Their fried rice is sooo good Everything I've tried is so delicious! Must try! Loyal customer for a couple of years now.

Yelp
Came here on a week day and it was very empty. Unfortunately only Chinese speaking waitresses so could be difficult if you don't speak the language. The restaurant itself is very big and prices are affordable but the language barrier could be difficult expressing what you want. Otherwise, not bad!
google avatar

Yelp
I wanted to take some time to write a review for our favorite place to get Guilin noodles. We've visited this business several times: so many times that we've become regulars here and the sweetest woman working (often alone it seems) always remembers our order. The food is so reasonably priced and the portions are LARGE. The traditional guilin noodles are authentic and we always make sure to ask for it to be extra sour and extra "mala" or "numbing." It quite literally never disappoints and the soup always comes out in record-breaking time. This shop definitely deserves more business and it didn't feel right gatekeeping this hidden gem in the 626, so here's my review for yall haha. Traditional Guilin Noodles is in my top 5 of favorite places to eat in the area. Go give it some commotion and thank me later.
google avatar

Kristen Q.

Yelp
Can't really recommend. The portions are very generous. The side dishes are all loaded to be ALL spicy--when you order several, they dump all the spices onto every single side dish, even if the side dish by itself was not spicy before, lo and behold, it now is. In attempting to be polite, consider using the restrooms elsewhere before coming here..
google avatar

Shelley Y.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for rice noodles and these hit the spot for me! Huge portions and great prices. I ordered the spicy fish noodle soup and asked for it to be numbing (mala) spice and added pickled veggies for a sour kick. The soup was rich and the rice noodles were the perfect chew. Service was fast and the auntie who worked there was so sweet! Will be back soon - especially because it is getting chillier!
google avatar

Alan K.

Yelp
Um. Yum. Numbing spicy house noodles gives you a really nice dose of that distinct chili flavor with a slight numbing effect; it's not spicy at all. It's full of chili flavors paired with a slightly muted brightness from the herbs while delivering strong meaty flavors, and towards the end balanced out by the earthiness of the nuts tossed with it. The noodles themselves are nice and springy, and absorbs the flavors of everything that it's sitting around while retaining its rice flavor at the center of it all. It's a very well rounded plate of noodles that I actually enjoy quite a bit. Definitely recommend to try.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
Love this place! Always go for the pork intestine noodle soup, the broth and taste is so good especially during this chilly weather
google avatar

Suzanne W.

Yelp
We got the #1 and #20 both with soup. I got my vegetarian soup noodles with medium level spice which gave it a good kick. The broth is very flavorful and mildly tangy. I really appreciated that the vegetarian soup noodles came with tofu as a protein alternative instead of just omitting the meat as many other restaurants do. It was quiet and there was only 1 other group in the restaurant with us. This restaurant seems like the quintessential mom & pop kinda place which is really nice. The older woman who waited on us was super nice and recommended that next time I get the stir fried noddles with bean curd sheet which is not on the menu. We will be back!

Courtney C.

Yelp
I tried their noodles for the first time on a Friday night with some friends and had to go back just a week later. The texture of the noodles is just so good I've tried like 5 different flavors and all of them have been great. Highly rec!
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
Had a meeting with city officials here. The owner kindly provided some cool drinks like water melon tea, mums tea etc., fried sweet bean paste dumplings and pork pot stickers to about 4 tables. My friend loved the pork stickers and after the meeting she ordered a whole dish. I avoided noodles for health reasons and got a 3 item mix of eggs, beef shank and tofu. This is a little dry but would go great with soup noodles. Maybe I should try noodles next time as they looked yummy.

Yelp
If you want a full meal, especially some warm, hot, hearty, oily soup noodles decently late in the evening, this is the place to go since they're open until 10 PM. There's board games and lots of seating too, if you would like a place to hang out as well. Definitely a mom and pop, family owned restaurant vibe, so come out and show your support. We got the: 1) Mix and Match Any 3 Sides: -You can choose from either of the columns from their menu. One with meats and other "denser" sides and one with more veggies and is more "lighter". -We chose from the side with more meats which made it a bit pricier but no biggie. -We chose the hot and spicy shredded bean curd, hot and spicy beef, and hot and spicy beef. -Not super spicy, but it has a nice chili flavor with latent heat. If you feel that the beef in the soup isn't enough and you want more heat, this order is the way to go. 2) #1 House Special Guilin Noodles: -You get the option to choose your noodles, I believe rice or egg noodles and we got the rice noodles. -You also get the option to choose your soup spiciness/flavor with the choices being: no spice, light, medium, mad max, sour and spicy, and numbing spicy. -We got the sour and spicy flavor and ordered an extra add on, the marinated hard boiled egg. -The soup is a perfect balance of oiliness and spicy sourness that was absorbed nicely into the slippery rice noodles. There's lots of roasted peanuts in it and there is a good amount of meat in the order too. Like very thin fatty pieces of meat, super good. Loved the diced green onions as well. -For sure a heavy dish because of the oil, but boy does it hit the spot. Definitely would love to head back again one day.
google avatar

Tammy N.

Yelp
I first heard of guilin noodles from watching my wiggly friend on Netflix, and I was excited to see there was a place near me serving it! We both got the soup version and tried two different spice levels: mad max and numbing spicy. I liked the numbing spicy more since it had a stronger peppercorn flavor. The mad max was good too. It's an oilier dish than the numbing one. For the price, they serve a generous portion of noodles and soup. We tried the egg noodles, but the rice noodles go better with the soup. We also tried the cold pig ear, beef, and potato appetizers. I'd pass on the potato since it has a pickled flavor which wasn't for me, but my boyfriend liked it. I love the homey and quaint ambiance here. They have a surprisingly large patio area that would be great for groups. They also have games and wifi which I thought was interesting since I don't normally think of coming to a noodle shop and hanging out for hours, so that's cool. The restaurant seems to be a mom and pop shop run by a couple. The woman who served us was sweet and didn't speak much English, but that didn't make it hard to order. It's located in a shared lot so parking is easy. Overall, it's a solid noodle shop!
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
I have been to this location a few times, and in my recent visit, the food was exceptional. I normally go to the one by the San Gabriel Supermarket plaza on Valley but their flavor recently because very unbalance. This last visit at this location was amazing! Perfect amount of heat and vinegar and the noodles were perfectly cooked. It is one lady running the show. She takes the order then cooks the order, follow by cleaning the tables.
google avatar

Selene S.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Saturday during lunch hours and it was kind of empty. The outdoor patio was very spacious and had lots of shade despite that it was a sunny day. I could see some tables inside as well. Music played in the background, creating a nice ambiance. Service was fast. The lady asked us if we wanted to sit inside cause there's AC but we were okay. Then she quickly came to take our orders, recommending their homemade teas. The food didn't take too long to come out either, less than 10 minutes. I got the house special Guilin noodles with rice noodles in the soup. I choose the lowest level of spicy, expecting it to be hardly spicy but it still kind of burned my throat. Next time I'll ask for no spice. The portion was amazing for the price of $11.99. You just don't see that often in this economy. The wintermelon tea was only $2.50 and had no ice inside which means it won't dilute. The rice noodles were on point, nice and chewy with some slices of beef and peanuts in the soup. The tea was also good. Highly recommend for some yummy rice noodles that are reasonably priced. Also come try just to support this small business! They're right next door to the dance studio that had the shooting.
google avatar

Phoua T.

Yelp
First time here. My bf wanted to go here to support a local business and to find out it was lovated next to the ballroom when the shooting happened. Overall, the food was great. Spicy level was already spicy at a mild level. Bf gor the duck and it tasted vclean and not overally oily. Fried chicken and the cold appetizer was tasty as well. Definitely would go again for the eel fried rice. Service was great, staff was so nice and the service was speedy. Ambiance of the restaurant was decent. Theres an outdoor patio as well.
google avatar

Sheldon C.

Yelp
One of our recent go-to spots. So relieved that the very nice lady who works here is ok after the tragic Star Ballroom shooting next door. She greets us with a smile every time and even loves our senior Shih Tzu - who comes with us every time (we sit outside in the spacious dog-friendly patio). The Spicy Fish Fillet Rice Noodles with mild "ma la" spiciness was perfect. Proportion ratio from noodles to broth to fish was excellent. So good. And Pan Fried Scallion Pancake was thin, crunchy and chewy. A perfect blend. I personally prefer a thicker pancake but this one was delicious.

Yelp
The last time I had Guilin noodles was when I was in Guilin and purposes some roadside. It was served in a plastic bag, but it was one of the more comforting noodles I've had. Years later I noticed a few Guilin noodles place pop up. I decided to give this high Yelp-rated one a try! Food: Guilin noodles in soup with medium spice level - Thicker yet smooth rice noodles in a savory broth. Medium spice is perfect for me. Came with sliced meats and some pickled vegetables. Service: Very friendly wait staff. The waitress made various recommendations. She sold me on the chrysanthemum tea. It was good! Environment: The outdoor seating area is larger than the indoor seating. Came here on a weekday for lunch and it was near empty. Price: It's pretty reasonably priced for a large bowl of noodle soup. Food: 4 Service: 5 Environment: 4 Price: 5

Yelp
This place is oddly located behind the Bank of America and TS Emporium store. Luckily I decided to just drive to the back of the lot and found the entrance! Definitely a mom and pop restaurant catered to the locals. Actually found this place via a food app suggestion and decided to see what Guilin noodles are about! Never had this dish before, so it was a first for me. I came looking for some brothy soup noodles but ended up ordering the dried House Noodles Special with medium spicy due to some slight language barrier with the nice owner lady. Boy, medium spicy had a good kick to it. You really have to mix up the dish and swirl around as I've seen on YouTube food channels. Get all the oil and spices stirred up from the bottom as it meant to be done in Chinese style! I see a lot of people complaining about the prices here but I had no problem with it. We are seeing the 21st century inflation and I'd rather pay $15 for a freshly cooked bowl of noodles instead of spending it on processed fast food in this day and age! Cheers to small business!

Olivia L.

Yelp
My luv for guilin noodles! Been to a couple of spots in the 626 and this place is definitely the best! Can be a little difficult to find but it's in the BOA parking lot. Super glad my friend brought me here, will definitely be returning and telling more friends about it :)
google avatar

Celine T.

Yelp
i was craving guilin rice noodles one night and found this hidden gem! it seems like a mom& pop's restaurant hidden next to a boa. has plenty of parking and food was delicious. i ordered the house special rice noodles with a side of 3 -combo side dishes. i forgot what exactly were the marinated meats i picked out but hidden underneath the pile is sliced sour & spicy potatoes (highly recommend). for the noodles, it's really close to the flavor of guilin noodles i've been searching for. the broth is very flavorful and i'd definitely come back
google avatar

Devang S.

Yelp
Great vegetarian noodle soup. The broth is pretty light, I got medium spicy and could barely taste the kick, so you can definitely go higher. Love that they include tofu by default as protein compared to a lot of places that only have carbs for their veggie option. Added an extra hard boiled (tea?) egg and washed it down with some sweet chrysanthemum tea.
google avatar

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
One of my favorite noodle restaurants in town! Their house special dry noodle dish is delicious and today, I had their soup noodle dish with pig trotters, which was also perfect for a cold day. Easy to find parking and delicious homemade teas too!
google avatar

Ellen G.

Yelp
Best Guilin noodles I've tried so far, generous portions, super friendly service, and a huge outdoor seating area! The food is delicious, the warm and bouncy rice noodles coated with a flavorful savory sauce and heaps of toppings. I'm surprised I saw a review mentioning there was not enough meat, because all three of our bowls were filled with meat! The textures, seasoning, and portions were all spot on. Best part? All the dishes are adjustable! The number 1 can be adjusted by spice level, numbing level, and seasoning. My favorite was the number 1 with Hot and Sour seasoning (and my friend really enjoyed the Mala/numbing+spicy). All the other noodles can be made into a hot soup or dry mix noodle, perfect for any weather! If you don't like rice noodles, they can also sub out for egg noodles. The lady working was so friendly and frequently checked in to see how we were doing. If you are limited on your mandarin skills, honestly just point to what you want on the menu since they all include photos! The food also comes out very quickly, probably less than 8 minutes! The best part? Their outdoor seating is a giant courtyard, perfect for groups! It's not just tents set up in a parking lot. The decor is very cute at night and there are chandeliers and lamps dangling from the ceiling. It is slightly hard to find, tucked between the supermarket and a bank, but there is plenty of spacious parking available even on a Saturday night! TLDR: if you're a noodle/rice noodle fan this is a must try! It was so good I ordered one to-go for later.
google avatar

Luna M.

Yelp
I enjoyed the noodles here, but I'd advise caution when requesting water. I had an unpleasant experience yesterday during lunch; the water tasted strange, and shortly after, I experienced vomiting and diarrhea. I'm currently at urgent care, uncertain if it was the water or the noodles that caused it. Despite having their noodles before without issue, I wanted to warn others to be cautious when asking for water at this restaurant.
google avatar

Iris L.

Yelp
I wanted to try something new in the sgv area and found this noodle place. I felt a bit insecure when I first got to the place. I mean, it's the same plaza where they had the shooting happen around new year. I came around 7p on a Sunday and the parking lot is close to dead empty. You have the option to sit indoor and outdoor, and I decided to stay indoors. The booth that I happened to sit in had cracked leather seat, which was very unfortunately since I was wearing shorts that day. There was another 2-3 tables at that time so it's kind of quiet. I ordered their guilin noodle and fried rice. The noodle itself was alright, doesn't have a lot of ingredients in it. For the shrimp fried rice, it has good seasoning. But you can taste that they use low quality rice. Overall, if you're looking for something affordable and fill you up, this is that place for you
google avatar

Arie R.

Yelp
Ordered two house noodles, one with sour and spicy broth and the other with the mad max spice level. The sour and spicy broth was not spicy at all. It was actually really good, not too salty. Amit and both bowls was a bit dry but other than that the soup was delicious and a huge portion. You can get egg noodles or rice noodles. We went in there thinking we both wanted egg noodles but the worker suggested rice noodles and she was definitely right. The Mad Max spice level was not really spicy. Surprisingly not spicy actually for being the second to most spicy level there is, only one to numbing I believe it was. Anyways, I recommend this place! You have to access it behind the bank or behind the grocery store. You cannot see it from the main road. They have a super cute outdoor area to eat and then the inside is normal.

Yelp
For a hamburger price, I got the best tasting noodles with all the extra ingredients. It was so good that I felt heavenly afterwards. The food was authentic and great, the prices were very inexpensive. There was no deco per se, just bare walls and simple tables. There were six tables full of customers. Yet it seemed like the owner lady herself ran the whole show - she took orders, brought drinks and food to the tables, took care of bills and cooking all by herself. She was Superwoman. There were some precooked cold dishes available at the counter. I would have liked to try all of them because they all looked authentic and delicious, but with a limited stomach, I had to settle with basic dishes. We tried : 4*Hot Red Dates with Longan Tea 热桂圓红枣蜜: it was good if you liked it - it tasted like honeydew. Not for everyone. 5*House Special Guilin Noodles 桂林特色米粉(干拌): Guilin's signature dish. It's as good as the legend, spicy and tasty, stimulating and exciting. The rice noodle was cooked perfectly, not too soggy nor too chewy, just the right texture. A real testament to a great cook. 4* Shellfish Noodle Soup桂林螺肉汤米粉桂林螺肉汤米粉:included snails, it's Guilin's signature dish. It was good, but could be better. I wish more vegetables were added.

Yelp
Good portion size (enough for two meals!) and the broths were very flavorful. One of the better Guilin noodles in the area!

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly! I ordered the house noodles and it was delicious. Definitely seems like a small family operated restaurant. Love supporting local businesses. Pay them a visit!

Yelp
The food is really good and portions are huge. I don't understand why it's always empty when we go, even during supposedly busy times. I want this place to be busier.

Yelp
This family owned business tucked in the back parking lot of Bank of America (Garvey & Garfield), offers authentic Guilin noodles. They have outdoor patio area as well as a dine in area. Super low key and casual. The owner's mom is always here. Service is basic and the menu offers great pictures and descriptions. I've had their house special Guilin noodles where you can choose your type of noodles and type of spicy. This time I'm trying their beef stew noodle soup. The owner told me their specialty is all in their beef broth, where they cook it for many hours and they always save some reserve as a base flavor to start the next batch of broth. The soup does have many layers of flavor that reflect the many hours of brewing. Glad I was able to stop by for lunch to support small businesses like this one in my neighborhood.

Yelp
Tucked away in the back parking lot by Bank of America, Traditional Guilin Noodles' entrance is back facing next to the Bank of America parking lot. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and since most days are mild here in Los Angeles, I prefer sitting outdoors and enjoy the fresh air while I eat. Guilin Noodles is one of my comfort food. I did enjoy my bowl of noodles from this store - not too spicy, not too numbing, but I can definitely use more meat in my bowl. I was happy with my noodles, but I left somewhat unsatisfied because I wanted more meat in my bowl. It is a nice additional to the area. Service is good. It is worth a try if you are tired of everything in the area and wanted to try something new.

Yelp
Their noodles are very springy. There's an outdoor seating area that's great for kids. I would recommend the wintermelon tea.

Yelp
I never knew there was this hidden gem behind TS Emporium herbal store until I was invited to dine in there. It is also next to a Bank of America. Service: The host/waitress, an elder lady was very attentive to us all. It's like we're old pals catching up. She always asked how my family was doing when I am by myself. Food: Since I am a vegetarian, it's sometimes hard to find good spicy noodle dishes like the one I uploaded in the photo. It is originally served with meat, but she said it be can replaced with bean curd. I forgot what it was called, but she remembers whenever I come in and knows what to do. It's a rice noodle dish with with spicy oil, peanuts, green onions, pickled long beans(?) and shredded bean curd on top. So good! It was bursting with flavors in my mouth! Art: I love the hand painted art of a village on the wall, and the tables have Chinese antiquity style art on them too. There are also boardgames on the shelves if desired. I live far away, but when I'm in town, I will drop by again!

Yelp
this is solely for the operation of this noodle placed. while the food is great, the operation and how the business is being run is disappointing. twice I came here after checking both websites (Yelp and Google) for the hours but the owner decided not to open. There was one time I called and no answered. Later I found out the owner is on vacation when I messaged them and found out days later. how difficult is it to update the hours or leave a greeting message on the business landline? Tip: call before to make sure they are open.

Yelp
The most popular bowl, Guilin noodle, has a bacon studded broth adorning rice noodles and fixings. You'll find the satisfying bowl laced with peanuts, pickled green beans, preserved vegetables, lettuce, chili oil, and shaved pork. Service is friendly and straightforward with a simply arranged dining area inside and out. If you're a fan of bacon, noodles and soup, or never had bacon flavored broth, you owe it to yourself to give Trational Guilin Noodles a try.
