Out of all the incredible meals we had during our trip through southern Spain , this one stood out as an absolute favorite. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and had a refreshing creative twist. The appetizers set the tone beautifully—particularly the salmon with lime, which struck the perfect balance between vibrant acidity and delicate richness. It was a simple yet elevated start that immediately impressed us. Then came the squid sandwich, which was nothing short of spectacular. The squid itself was tender and flavorful, but what truly made the dish unforgettable was the bun—warm, freshly baked, and wonderfully soft. It brought everything together in the most satisfying way. The pork with cream and mushrooms was equally memorable. Rich, savory, and perfectly cooked, it was comfort food elevated to something truly special. Finally, the fried sea bass was a standout. Crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, it was a flawless execution of a classic dish. The dessert definitely added an icing to the cake. Mango sorbet mixed with a spicy sauce was very savory! Highly recommended to anyone visiting the region

Wow. What a place! You usually need a booking, but we rocked up at the right time and snagged their last table, which had a cancellation! Beautiful presentation of tapas, and Mains, gorgeous local wine! Would 100% recommend!

Google
Right next to the legendary bridge of Ronda, you can find this gem of a restaurant. We visited with a 1 year and 4 year old, and were welcomed with a smile! The staff were wonderful with the children, and made sure we had the best experience. The food is simply delicious. Especially would recommend the scallops, steak tartare and dry aged beef. Make a reservation! Yum!

Google
This is a must stop if you are in Ronda. Everything we had was excellent. The biggest problem we had was not having a bigger stomach. I have had really great Pastrami sandwiches in my life but this is one of the best. They use the same Brioche with the chorizo sandwich which is equally good. And leave room for the Flan, it's one of the best we have ever tried. Look forward to my return!

Google
Me and my family had a selection of starters and chuleton. The meat was excellent. The starters were amazing. I would recommend sitting inside the restaurant and not on the street. Inside is 5 stars, outside is 3. Great service. Book in advance!

Google
Amazing culinary experience. Each dish was better than the previous and the presentation was exquisite. A special thanks to our server that was fluent in Spanish, English and French.

Google
Very good food, seated in the terrace in a nice warm day. Would recommend sitting inside as the tourists pass through you outside and stare at your food 😅 but service was good and very tasty.

Google
One of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at in Spain. This restaurant is worth the visit to Ronda alone. Excellent, expertly prepared modern takes on classics. The chicken tortellini in the truffle cream sauce was amazing, the Asian style fried whole fish was perfectly cooked, and the beef tartare with bone marrow was spectacular — the presentation is inventive and tasted amazing. Don’t forget the starters — the smoked artichoke is one of the best we have had. Definitely seek this one out

Yelp
Ridunkuloisly good. Horseradish oyster. Mussels. Gazpacho. Do not miss the flan. The service was exceptional. Delightful. The place to go.

Yelp
Our dinner tonight was fantastic. After several days of cycling, we had a good appetite. We did not have a reservation, but showed up right at 20:00 and we were able to get seated. It was a Wednesday evening. Probably not possible to show up without a reservation on the weekend. Our first course was salmon kimchi served in top of half a lime. You inhaled the salmon whilst squeezing the lime at the same time. Wow. The next course was a tomato salad with fresh mint. Then we moved into smoked grilled artichoke with an egg yoke. Double wow. The fourth course was a tripe stew, something one wouldn't find in the estados unidos, but a traditional dish here. Served with a sort of farm sausage. We rested a bit and enjoyed our Ronda wine. For "dessert" we had pork iberico with roasted potatoes in a very flavorful minty smoked sauce. It was so good I made reservations to return two night later.

Yelp
Must try the bone marrow. Friendly service. The flan is pretty good and unique. Reservation is highly encouraged, but they will make best effort to accommodate you.

Yelp
Hands down the best meal I had in Spain. We got the lemon dessert and found it to be delicious. Then on a naughty whim, I also ordered us the chocolate dessert-- absolutely divine! Service was great. I can't recommend this place enough

Deborah Z.

Yelp
Service for sure. We waited at our table for about 15 minutes without being acknowledged. Then when asked about a recommendation for a Spanish wine similar to a Sauvignon blanc the waiter was condescending and said one wine had nothing to do with the other and had no recommendation to offer. The meal was OK. We had the croquetas, pork cheek tapa and the Caesar salad with fried chicken. All was ok. The chicken on the salad was cooked well but was a bit bland. Overall i expected more than just OK for a restaurant that had earned a Michelin star

Yelp
Wonderful dining experience with a great staff. Food was excellent and highly recommend

Yelp
The food here was scrumptious. The calamari Sammy, the beef with noodles, the bone marrow, and the chicken were all terrific. The chicken and bone marrow in particular left an impression! The service was meh - they know their food is good, they are are in high demand and sadly that may lead them to be less welcoming. That is too bad. I wanted to take a star for it but the food was too good!

Yelp
Modern contemporary Spanish food in a modern chic environment. You'll pay more, but you're on vacation and should treat yourself! Sometimes. Luckily I just wanted some snacks, so my wallet only took on light damage. €3 Calamari sandwich...its small, but on a soft delicious fresh black roll and with tasty sauces, order it! €4 Oyster...not sure what possessed me to order an oyster so far from the ocean. But it was fresh, chilled and delicious. €4.50 Dessert thing with green ice and mousses. It was weird, but still pretty good. If you've been in Spain for awhile and need a fresh twist on food, check it out. If you're a student traveler scrapping by, don't. Unless you're a trust fund kid with daddy's credit card.

Yelp
A lovely experience- marvelous service- decadent dishes. Sea Bass, hamburguesa, squid sandwich and Flan were amazing!

Yelp
Wow what a cool spot in the middle of tourist town in Ronda. This is the third restaurant in on casse nueva near the main plaza. It's old name was traga tapas but it is now tragatá. They serve a more gourmet version of tapas. No menu del dios but that's the price of great flavor! The oysters natural were served with a lemon foam and we're just tremendous. Flavorful and perfectly cool on a hot summer day. The Sangria has a nice fruity flavor as well. The sardines with olive oil were terrific. 12.50 euros but really worth it. The José Peña olive oil was really wonderful and rich. The fresh baked bread was light and crunchy. The asparagus was amazing. White and super large. Nicely done and severe cold with a terrific egg and chives sauce. The sardines was great as well with a nice bread and tomato to accompany it. The "pulled pork" taco didn't look like it came from Taco Bell :-) it was served as a lettuce wrap with saffron filaments on top. Delicious!

Yelp
Do it! The food is such an adventure who knew duck could be so delicious or crispy pigs ears could be so divine! The staff is so friendly and whether or not you speak English they will work it out to ensure you enjoy your meal. The inside is well done and the chef is a transplant from Barcelona. If you want to try unique twists on Spanish food with a wonderful wine list.

Yelp
Superb! This place is a cool spot for lunch if you're ever in Ronda, Spain. Highly recommend this place! Started with the oysters with lemon. It has a lemon foam on top. Amazing! Tacos with pulled pork. It has a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce and lots of cilantro. Salad with mozzarella, basil and raf tomatoes was so good and refreshing. Picantan Chicken is tender rotisserie like chicken with a stewed flavor. Beef tataki had a nice mixture of BBQ flavor and cilantro and noodles. Thai Seabass had a nice mild spicy flavor. Tip it off with cafe con leche as dessert.

Yelp
It is a modern high-end tapa restaurant located next to the Ponte Nuevo in Ronda city center. The menu is a mix of Spanish and international inspired dishes. The server(owner?) was a very friendly lady who we ended up meeting the next day as well. We were there in December and they said they serve Sangria only during summer months, which I soon learned is the case in most of the restaurants in Spain. So we settled for couple of glasses of their house red wine. We tried the 4 tapas, they were all good but it is less filing for what you pay. I really enjoyed the mussels and Patatas Bravas.

Yelp
This was the best restaurant we tried in Ronda and Spain! We went on a tour with local tour guides and they said this was the best restaurant in the city! We gave it a try and it did not disappoint! The Salmon,Saam, and squid sandwich were our favorite! Everything we ordered was delish! This is a MUST try- even if you go for just the salmon- best thing we tried!
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Cozy place, crowded. Ordered all the tapas, one each. The were good, I favored the pig's cheek. Very tender. Must try
google avatar

Robin E.

Yelp
Modern with a really good vibe. Probably best tapas I've had in Spain so far. Good prices too. And really nice staff :)

Yelp
Outstanding place in Ronda! Definitely need to visit. All we got was amazing: meet, duck, seafruits, sweets and vines. Highly recommend

Yelp
Great, modern takes on Classic Spanish tapas. We had the sardines on bread with tomato which was delicious, the Caesar salad which was lettuce with fried chicken twigs and crispy pieces of thin sliced ham, and the tuna belly with fresh tomato and olive oil and basil. Highly recommended if you want to avoid the tourist traps near the historic center of Ronda.

Yelp
Nice location in historical Ronda. Great staff with better than average food

Carrie T.

Yelp
Excellent food. Loved the tomato's with basil and olive oil and steam mussels. Everything was made with good fresh ingredients, not overly salty or saucy. Best place we've had food in the Andulusia so far.
google avatar

Sangsu R.

Yelp
Almost chef made tapas highly recommanded not a typical tapas bar, but like trendy.
google avatar

Mikie B.

Yelp
Outstanding tapas. Very creative, original take on tapas. Beautifully presented. If you are in Ronda, don't miss this little gem!
google avatar

Julia G.

Yelp
The best meal in Spain! Excellent! Delicious pork meatballs, spicy muscles, green bean and pancetta salad. Friendly service. Excellent wine. Delicious dessert. Wish could come back but leaving Romeo tomorrow. Next trip, maybe.

Yelp
Great tastings across many tap pas Favorites were mini dogs, pork tacos and the mini goat cheese pizzas. Their salads are great and a mean sangria

Sharon S.

Yelp
This restaurant was terrific! We had the duck, spinach salad with goat cheese, peppers, green beans and the burrata salad. Everything was beautifully prepared and extremely flavorful. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was hip without being too trendy. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Alexander Z.

Yelp
Food highlight of our stay in Ronda. Excellent classic tapas and some great creative new ones. Great location and very friendly staff!. Would definitely return and recommend it to people coming to the area. In a touristy area but don't be turned off.

Yelp
Overall a B-. We had a few tapas on a Saturday afternoon. The service was kind but slow and ineffective. The fried squid tapas was good, as was the mini wagyu burger. Otherwise not a memorable experience.

Yelp
I had high hopes for Traga Tapas after reading lots of great reviews from various travel sites, but it was an entirely disapointing experience for me because there were no vegetarian options. Traga is supposed to be one of the best places for inventive tapas in Spain, so I was expecting some novel items that would include something vegetarian, but no dice nor would they make something/change something on the menu to make it vegetarian. My husband had the beef cheeks with potato tapas, and said it was amazing.
google avatar

Chuck E.

Yelp
Great service and wonderful chef. We had pollito picanton and lomo de buey plates. Note it has new name "TRAGATA" - but same location, owner, chef.
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic! We tried all of the tapas on the menu, and they were all great--even the ones I was a little skeptical about, like the jawbone. The great thing about this tapas bar is that there are non-seafood options (although there are plenty of seafood options!) and a great outdoor seating area. Don't miss it if you're in Ronda!

Roobois K.

Yelp
Creative food at wonderful prices with terrific service. Like most restaurants in Spain, this is not one you have to dress up for, but this is even more casual than so many others. For us, it was a welcome relief after a lot of lengthy meals. Casual and fun vibe with really delicious food. We just did tapas, drinks, and dessert - - or two, it ended up costing 30 euros.

P O.

Yelp
Tragata has an asian influence in their tapas and they were delicious! Small restaurant that fills quickly. Luckily we arrived right when the restaurant opened or else we would not have been seated. This was actually one of our favorite tapas places during our entire 16 day trip all around Spain. I highly recommend Tragata and make reservations to ensure you can get in!

Yelp
Usually I find my Rick Steves guide to be very trusty in terms of reliable (if not stellar) recommendations. However, after going to this place I must say they let me down fairly severely. Perhaps they are just happy they got a good review and don't need to work at it any longer. We were met by a happy server who heartily endorsed our choices with a "it's very good, an excellent choice". However, seems that since we were not ready to order immediately she soon lost interest in us and somewhat ignored thereafter even though not busy. Also it was disturbing to hear her happily chattering to her coworker about her technique as to how she convinces patrons like us to order certain foods. It could've been somewhat forgivable but the food itself was in very small portions and also lacked flavor and texture. The wine which was not inexpensive, was also thin and much lower than the typical standard I came to expect from restaurants in Spain. It was also one of the more expensive establishments that we visited during our 3 1/2 week trip to this country. All in all, a place I would never go back to again. Oh well, you can't win them all.

Alexandros S.

Yelp
first i was afraid that the food wouldn't be good because the place looked hippster / chic BUT i was totally wrong! the food and the place / atmosphere was amazing. all dishes were prepared with care and love. extraordinary service. Hoda was our angel for the night. genuine smile and perfect food and wine recommendations. thank you for such a special night. :)

Lee L.

Yelp
Waited for to be seated, we were the only non Spanish in the place- food was average at best and service was lax! Too bad, Ronda is a touristy city we thought we could find a good restaurant, maybe next time.

Roy S.

Yelp
An excellent place to eat outstanding innovative dishes. On a Saturday evening, the restaurants on either side were empty; whereas, this place was hopping. And now, for the dishes: (1). Oregano de Carto Frits con Salsa Picante (fired pigs ear) Sounds gross, but they are in strips, crunchy and delicious with the salsa picante, which is slightly picante; (2) Coca de achieve, rabo de taro estofado y parmasaro (oxtail and parmasean on a bread) delicious; (3) Arragas blancos con salsa ravigot (white asparagus with a sauce) Very good; (4) Rollitos crujientos de pollo curry y gamba (crispy chicken curry rolls & prawns) Excellent; (5) Coca de Roastbeef de presarucola questo y payoyo tomato seco (roast beef, arugula and payoyo cheese) excellent); (6) Taco de pulled pork (Bar-b-que styled pork taco with cilantro, onion & chili) excellent. The last three will knock your socks off. We finished the meal with lemon & coco, a very light, fluffy mousse and the chocolate mousse. All in all, a really delightful meal.
