The place is cool, it is in an old Pharmacy " Transfer Pharmacy" and they left the counter and stools in place as well as some of the original tile floor. It is worth going to see just this, but the pizza was very good. Kind of a cracker crust, but tasty. Service was great, Gina was our server and she was on it, personable joking around with us, it made the visit all that much better. Very accommodating as well. I will be back, you should check it out!

Google
We loved the food, service, and atmosphere! Visiting from out of town and stopped in for lunch. I ordered a garlic pizza plus green olives with gluten free crust. Best pizza ever, thin crust, amazing flavors, and excellent gluten free food safety precautions. Thank you!

Google
Our family just arrived at the city and we carried out a large Margherita pizza. We were hungry but the pizza was not good. As a pizza worths $23 dollars, the tomato sauce was not flavorful and was so wet that it soaked the crust. Cheese was hard. Basil leaves were dark colored and not fresh at all. Nothing tastes delightful for our first meal. Do not recommend it.

Google
Transfer is my favorite place for pizza! It has the perfect balance of fresh, crusty & chewy. Not salty, greasy or burnt. The salads and appetizers are delicious too. It's an easy going cafe with reasonable prices. The servers are wonderful and have memorized our orders! ; )

Google
Gluten free pizza that actually tastes like real pizza!! Server was efficient and friendly and manager even came over. Lots of good combos to select and all of them were available gluten free.

Google
I ordered a pizza with gluten-free crust and was pretty disappointed. For $19 I have to say this is a depressing pizza lol. And I paid $50 for 2 pizzas including tip, on a take-out order. I just don’t see how that pricing is justified. The quality of the pizza is not what is used to be. Atmosphere is great and staff were nice but at the end of the day, for how expensive the pizza is the quality does not match.

Google
Family took me here and said it was awesome pizza and they were right!! Everything from the atmosphere, staff, and food were amazing. We ordered two large pizzas and the spinach artichoke dip to share amongst 4 people. Plenty of leftovers!! We ordered The Dill (PERFECTION!!!). My first time trying a pickle pizza and they nailed it. It was delicious. We also ordered a garlic base with spinach and feta. That was enjoyed very much! Dip was also yummy and comes with bread. Love the artwork throughout the restaurant!

Google
This place was pretty cool 😎 the pizza we ordered came nice and hot but I think the large pieces of tomato could have been cut more and the cheese possibly a little melted. The caprese salad was delightful 😊 I can always enjoy myself a good slice of tomato and mozzarella.

Yelp
Came here with my husband and daughter. The service was great, very attentive from the start. We were seated right away and our server checked in shortly after. She did an excellent job throughout our meal. We started with the spinach artichoke dip, which was really good and didn't last long at our table. My husband ordered the Hawaiian pizza, and my daughter and I shared the S.M.O. The Hawaiian was solid but could've used more pineapple. The S.M.O. needed a little more seasoning, the crust was bland and the toppings didn't have much flavor. Overall, the food was decent, but I'm not sure I'd make the drive from the suburbs again.

Yelp
The service here is fantastic and consistent. The food is also very, very tasty. I am pleasantly baffled by how great Transfer's customer service is, over and over again. Everyone I've interacted with is friendly, courteous, and genuine. I've picked up carry out orders from here at least a dozen times and have never had a bad interaction. This is 90% of the reason why I keep coming back. The other 10% is for the food... their pizzas are really, really good. I loooovve the garlic special. Despite having sausage and a garlic sauce, it's on the lighter side, and very flavorful. The crust is really good, too. I like that they have several vegetarian and vegan options and some solid choices for salads, as well.

Yelp
Visited friends in Milwaukee and they suggested this spot. Lots of room for seating, cute diner style bar area. We didn't have any drinks at this stop but looked like a full bar. I ordered a classic pepperoni pizza but my two friends were vegetarians and there were tons of options. Pizza was so good, perfectly cooked crust and flavorful toppings. This could be fun a spot for friends or family. Kid friendly!

Yelp
We stopped by Transfer for an early Valentine's Day dinner and to use our City Tin coaster! We were able to be seated right away and they were just using the front part of the restaurant. It is such a nice environment and the staff is so friendly and on top of things. They even were able to hook us up with a special topping they don't normally have. My reason for not giving it 5 stars is that I think the pizza just might not be my style of pizza. I never gravitate toward it for some reason, but I know other people really enjoy it! The staff and environment are really great!

Yelp
Pie for pie the best za in the city! Transfer has been a staple in the MKE pizza scene for decades, and for good reason. They have an excellent variety of pizza options, but you must try one of their garlic sauce pizzas! 2 of our favorites are the Garlic Special: garlic cream sauce, cheese, sausage, mushrooms Or Garlic Lovers: garlic cream sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage You really can't go wrong with any pizza you order, although I will say the dill lacked any hint of dill flavor, so that was disappointing. The service is great, very attentive and helpful navigating the menu. Also fun: They have live jazz music every Thursday! Most pizza spots are made to carry out, but Transfer has created a warm and inviting space to dine in on some tasty za!

Yelp
Honestly some of the best pizza in Milwaukee. Great place to hang out with a group! I would definitely go back!

Yelp
We walked two blocks to enjoy Transfer Pizza's Latin jazz, which is held every Thursday night. It was wonderful--even the pizza was better than the last time. With no cover charge, this is the deal of a lifetime. Some of Milwaukee's best jazz musicians show up, their entire family in tow so bring your kids, to jam for our enjoyment. I forgot the name of our excellent server, but she was energetic, bouncing from table to table, from front and back, even from outside in, to make sure we were taken care of. Transfer represented all of Milwaukee on Thursday night. The usual segregation was nowhere to be seen. There were black people, Hispanic people, white people, Asian people, ugly people, pretty people, old people, and young people. It looked like NYC or Chicago! That was great to see. Bravo! We had our pizza, which was well done and crispy, like we ordered. It was delicious. After an exuberant two hours, we paid our bill and walked back to our apartment on the river. A completely different demographic was enjoying the nautical scene at the Bridgewater Grill. I'll take the scene at the Transfer Pizza Café.

Yelp
Food came out super fast. Was pretty good. They have nightly deals. Our waiter was a little pushy and seemed short with us.

Yelp
I always point people to this spot when they ask where my favorite pizza is. I love the unique combinations that they come up with. We got two pizzas and some spinach artichoke dip. Our server had a lot of energy and was very attentive. We made a reservation on a Thursday and I'm glad we did because the place was poppin. There was live music, too.

Yelp
A scrumptious Sunday evening meal! Hubby and I haven't been here in what feels like 5+ years so when someone reminded us of this gem we knew we had to go on our next date night. Such a cute atmosphere. We got a little two top but I'm determined to return at sit at the bar, it's such a vibe. I got the pear martini and would absolutely get it again, 9/10, sweet and refreshing which is exactly what I needed on this summer evening. We started with the Bruschetta, just the basic one, and boy was the flavor awesome!! For pizza, we opted for a large Diavola and added onion (because I'm obsessed w onions). And it was very good! I'd give it a 7.5/10. I feel like there's gotta be better pizzas on the menu but it's so hard to chose. My husband had the idea of a sampler pizza where you get a quarter of all different pizzas because it's honestly so hard to just chose one or two. We had 2 slices to take home (perks of ordering 1 large), and I will get to enjoy them for my lunch on Monday - lucky me!!

Yelp
Always great pizza and a great ambiance, the music on Thursdays is always a great experience. Also the staff is friendly

Yelp
We got there about an hour before our reservation and they still seated us right away! It was Thursday night and they had lovely live jazz music that was so nice to listen to. Our waitress was so kind and helpful with her recommendations. She recommended the cheesy garlic bread to start. The marinara sauce was VERY good! The cheesy garlic bread itself was okay. Clearly good quality ingredients but I think if they use the same type of dough as the pizza it would be much better. It also could have used more garlic/butter on it. We decided to try some of the specialty pizzas. We got the dill pickle and the bbq chicken pizza. The dill pickle pizza was great! Excellent garlic sauce, I wish it had more. Plus the replacement of bacon with pepperoni was really good. I liked it better, but my husband liked the bacon better. It was crispy and well cooked. The bbq sauce was more of a sweet sauce, which isn't my taste. But honestly everything we ate was quite good and they clearly use quality ingredients. The pizza dough was amazing and the pizza was cooked perfectly (a little crispy on the outside but chewy and fluffy on the inside). Also we asked the server about dessert and she gave us her honest opinion- which I greatly appreciated!! I'd definitely come back to try a more classic type of pizza!

Yelp
Fresh, quality ingredients and a delicious light thin crust. The customer service was wonderful as well! Great for pick-up or dine-in.
google avatar

Mike V.

Yelp
Great pizza joint with lots of options for everyone. They have a few different sauces which help act as the flavor base for the specialty pizzas. The Stacy's Special has bbq sauce with chicken, cheese, red onion and smoked gouda. The location used to be a pharmacy way back when and there's plenty of street parking.
google avatar

Yelp
I may be biased, since I work there, but I know that the people there put quality of food and care of the guests as a top priority. It is the first place my partner brought me when she brought me down from the Northwoods six years ago, and I haven't regretted one second since they hired me. The owners are thoughtful, community-minded employers, the food sells itself, the management looks out for its staff, and, with the exception of yours truly, the service is top-notch. The jazz nights are stellar. If you haven't been here yet, you should give it a try, but be warned: you too may want to work here.
google avatar

Laura T.

Yelp
We picked up our pizza (large pepperoni and sausage) from the window. Very efficient good service. Pizza was only average at best I'm sorry to say. Bland. Are the only decent places in MKE for 'za in Bayview (Anodynes prosciutto and arugula or Classic Slice anything)???

Yelp
I follow Transfer on Instagram so I get updates on their specials regularly. When they released that July's Pizza of the Month was the Elote pizza, I knew I HAD to come. I love almost anything elote and I chose to come here for a low key birthday dinner with my husband. We made reservations the day of on a Saturday, which was completely hassle-less. Our waitress was very talkative and friendly. My husband started with a Spotted Cow and I got a pear martini. My martini was delicious - the pear was very evident and still very much tasted like a medium dry martini. My husband then got a small Caesar salad and we split an order of garlic bread. He really enjoyed his salad and said the croutons tasted fresh and the dressing was on point. The garlic bread didn't look like much, but oh goodness was it delicious. The bread was warm and toasty, but simultaneously also soft and very garlicky in a good way! The marinara it came with was warm and had good flavor also. I was recommended by a friend afterwards to get it with cheese next time and I definitely will be doing that! We then obviously got the elote pizza; we got a small size since we weren't going home immediately afterwards and didn't want to carry around a lot of leftovers. The pizza was exactly what I wanted! The crust was delightfully crispy and there was plenty of corn, queso fresco, cilantro, and garlic sauce to keep me excited to keep eating it! I was genuinely so happy eating this meal. And then just when I thought it was over, our waitress came over with a slice of tiramisu with a lit birthday candle because she got whiff it was my birthday. They don't have a specific desserts menu, but they do have a few options available. I don't remember what the other options were, but do not sleep on this tiramisu!

Yelp
My most recent visit here was on a Sunday for a late lunch. We were one of three tables in the resturant and received stellar service!! We kept it simple and ordered the cheesy garlic bread and a large pepperoni pizza. OMG the cheesy garlic bread - the portion is huge, we split it between 3 people, and it is DELICIOUS!! The marinara dipping sauce is fantastic; I would definitely purchase jars of it if they sold it. The pepperoni pizza came out lava hot and equally delicious. At Transfer, simple does not equal boring. The crust had great flavor and texture, I would describe it as a thinner "hand tossed." Lots of cheese (I love cheese!) and pepperoni. Superb! I love the variety of pizza on the menu and there is something for everyone, including several vegetarian options and I believe most, if not all, pizzas can be made gluten free. Definitely one of my favorite pizzerias in the area. Recommend and will be back :)

Yelp
For Sunday lunch we had McKenzie as a server and Tuesday evening, we had Joe. The service staff here is always really great, warm and friendly, prepared with suggestions for drinks and eats. Tuesday night the radio had vintage 80s music on, including Sigue Sigue Sputnik, so great! When I come here for brunch, I like to get Ed's Brunch Special with bacon and sausage. It is the best breakfast pizza I've ever eaten hands-down, anywhere! For dinner, my husband and I split the Bruschetta Salami. I could eat it every day without getting tired of it. It's so fresh and delicious! Transfer, you NEVER disappoint. Grazie!!

Yelp
We brought our dog and enjoyed an elotes pizza outdoors. Their staff was very friendly - they brought out a water bowl for our pup and checked in on us several times. They forgot one of the items we ordered but took it off the bill and were super apologetic.

Yelp
It's so weird how coming out of the pandemic how excellent service can feel a little claustrophobic. And the service here was excellent, absolutely flawless. It was my first time at this Pizzeria and I am kind of smitten with it. I was able to order one of my favorite pizza combos (artichoke, garlic sauce, cheese, and anchovies). The anchovies were only a $1 up-charge, too. My date was able to get his favorite combo (sausage, onion, mushroom) as well. His pizza was more rustic with the onion and mushrooms thickly cut. The mushrooms were fresh and thickly sliced. His red sauce was also very fresh tasting. A small pizza, which is plenty for one person at six good-sized slices, runs 11.25 to 14 dollars and the large pizzas run 20-25 dollars. There are a ton of flavor variations but also a ton of additional options at very reasonable prices. The crust is my favorite kind, crispy on the bottom but chewy at the edge. The garlic sauce could have been more garlicky, but I'm a garlic fiend so YMMV. Decent beer list, solid wine list, you can order espresso at the end of your meal, and they offer desserts as well.

Yelp
My favorite pizza in MKE - been going since they opened. Couldn't imagine my life without them. Ok, enough with the dramatics. If you don't know about this place, you've likely been sleeping under a rock. It's a local gem who makes craft pies with fresh ingredients, killer drinks (my favorite is the $5 Bloody Mary's on Saturdays and Sundays) and always service with a smile. My favorite pizza is Garlic Lovers - garlic base sauce, pepperoni and sausage. I add a few more things like black olives and jalapeños, but it's amazing in its purest state. My husband loves the Carne Amore - swapping out the red sauce for the garlic sauce (did I mention that garlic sauce is INSANE?!). But no matter what pizza you order - I don't think you can go wrong - there is one thing that you cannot forget to order when you're here. The Salami Bruschetta!!! OMG OMG OMG The best thing in the world. So simple, so fresh, so delicious. Their garlic cheese bread is good too. Whatever you do, just eat there (or order takeout/delivery). You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Tired a different GF pizza ... but I will always go back to my sausage choice. But, choose your favorite, because you can't go wrong with your desired choice.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered transfer for takeout on a Friday night! My friend had recommended transfer after having 2 great pizzas! We order the Da Vinci pizza to share, one she had enjoyed before. This time something was missing. The crust was good but there was no flavor to the pizza. It was basically just bread, a few tomatoes and sprinkled cheese. Disappointed but will try again, hopefully it was just a fluke!
google avatar

Carie F.

Yelp
chill vibe, fantastic pizza. my date I both ordered a small pizza which were both delicious (see photos) & some garlic bread -- more food than we needed for two people but we couldn't resist. came on a weeknight and they even had a great drink special off half off a bottle of wine (twist my arm). something else that stuck with me is throughout the restaurant they had information on being green / sustainable (and how they're doing so). I regret not remembering the organization they were a part of that supports that initiative across many local businesses, but how cool!
google avatar

Na X.

Yelp
I really liked the options and variety of pizza they had here. Me and a friend shared 1 large/ medium and we def didn't finish it. I believe ours had like chicken and potatoes etc and it was moist and the bread was crispy af. Super delish And it was not to busy at all. Overall the decor is very cute and gives me vintage diner turned pizza joint. The cons are that parking is all over the place since half the street is no parking or like red lined. Additionally service is a little slow for how not busy it was. That's why I wish I could do a 3.5 star rating.
google avatar

Frank A.

Yelp
Came in with a group of 8 and they accommodated us right away. The pizza was delicious as well as the bread. We will for sure be back next time we're down in that area!
google avatar

Enxhi B.

Yelp
Delicious pizza and friendly server for lunch! My cocktail was kind of too strong lol I was wishing I had got the mimosa instead, but no biggie. Easy street parking and plenty of indoor plus some outdoor seating

Alexis P.

Yelp
Amazing food!! Very fast paced workers, super sweet! The pizza was cooked very well, and very crispy but not burnt! Amazing service, everyone make me feel welcomed and I got my food within 30 mins when the place was busy!

Robert P.

Yelp
Dined here before and the food and service was 5. Called tonight and to check how long the wait might be. Was put on hold for several minutes...hopefully the owner sees this.

Shane M.

Yelp
Amazing food and customer service!! i tried the Dill Pizza and it has to be one of the best in town! Will return.
google avatar

Torrie B.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and I couldn't be happier. I have been here before, but it's been a minute. I have been waiting patiently to enjoy the dill pizza, and ENJOY I DID. One of the best pizzas I have ever had. The crust, sauce, and toppings were delicious. My friend had a build your own pizza and loved hers as well. Our waitress was super kind and gave us our drinks for free when we experienced a long wait. She went above and beyond and we really appreciated her top notch service. The place was bustling but not too loud or uncomfortable. I love the atmosphere and highly recommend Transfer for anyone looking for a slice in a cool part of MKE.

Michael V.

Yelp
Amazing pizza, our fav is the La Bella! Been visiting since the first year they opened and have never been disappointed.
google avatar

Kathleen B.

Yelp
First Time here last night and is was a great one! We started with appetizers and goodness were they delicious. Simple but delicious. The bruschetta was fresh and the bread that came with it was freshly grilled. We also tried the spinach artichoke dip and it might have been my favorite spinach dip I have every eaten. It was warm and creamy and had great great flavor; again served with grilled bread. For dinner I ordered a small margarita pizza and it was very good. The crust was not as thin as I imagined it would be, which took away from the pizza slightly. The red sauce was good. Overall, a good option for pizza in Milwaukee but the apps were the standouts of the evening for sure.
google avatar

Shelly L.

Yelp
This was my absolutely favorite pizza place in the MKE area. I still love the atmosphere, wine , and live music. They must have changed their recipe and dough for the pizzas however! Very disappointing... the dough is puffy and chewy and doesn't have that crispy wood fired taste like I used to love . The toppings were just so so - we got a veggie pizza and the most bland part was very little (maybe none?) sauce on the pizza . We ended up taking about half the pizza home because we just weren't digging it and the craziest part was our server boxed the pizza like this- top of the pizza mushed together with the other top of the slice . Like a giant mushy pile !! Oh well hoping it was just an off night and the dough will go back to the stuff we loved
google avatar

Carina A.

Yelp
Great ambiance and solid pizza--including some unique creations. We tried the dill pizza (with their mayo-based garlic sauce) and a basic sausage pie. (Plus a cheese pizza for our kiddo.) Happened to be here on Vino Wednesday so enjoyed a half-priced bottle of house red. Staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. The crust was crispy and had a sour bite. The dill pickle pizza was great (I added some crushed red pepper), and the sausage was pleasantly caraway forward. I would absolutely go back.

Christine R.

Yelp
Cannot overstate how much of a staple takeout spot this is for our household. Love their crispy but soft in the center pizza. Our regular order is the Garlic special. If we're feeling cheeky we add in their S.M.O. Dine in for a laid back lunch or low key date night spot. Their food servers have always been wonderful and they have energetic, fun bartenders to boot. Give it a try next time you're in the area.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
Takeout. I've had a lot of different pizza in the area and this place is towards the bottom of my list. No love was put into it. The Sausage, Mushroom, and Onion had very little sauce that just wasn't flavorful, sausage was blah and the dough was super dry with very little flavor. The Da Vinci lacked the pesto flavor we were so excited about and the toppings were not evenly distributed. Dough was also super dry with very little flavor. Overall, there are soooo many better pizza places in the area, so I wouldn't waste your time here.
google avatar

Tyler H.

Yelp
Super cool environment, owner / bartender omg wonderful!! This pizza is amazing! Come eat and catch the vibe

Yelp
One of the best things about Transfer pizza is the customer service it make sure food taste even better. I've been going to Transfer for many many many years. Thank you for the wonderful service and food. I referred you today to top Chef. They're in town for two months there going to be stopping at your restaurant. I'm sure they'll be so happy. Keep up the good work.

Yelp
Called in for take out on a Saturday at peak time the wait was 40min! I thought that was a very reasonable time! The cesar salad was amazing! I would highly recommend! Pizza was good, crust was cooked perfectly and sauce was flavorful. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Clarence S.

Yelp
I had a great experience with the business. Since I have a walker for a few years now Since my last visit. The host was very helpful helping me by holding the door as I entered the restaurant. He was polite and helpful. He took my order and was very accurate doing the order. When I asked questions he answered them well to his knowledge. The food was very good and very delicious. Nice portions of garlic bread with cheese and the sausage pizza. The dipping sauce for the bread was awesome. When I was done the host boxed my leftovers and placed them in a bag. Their chocolate cake was good as well. They don't have a dessert menu but always ask the host and the person will tell you what they have. I have great experience with them and I would like to go there again soon.
google avatar

Kate K.

Yelp
I've done take out twice at Transfer now, and both times the service was great! They have dedicated curbside pickup which makes it easy. The pizza is also great - we love the variety of sauces for different kinds of pizza. The lunch special is also a deal!
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizzas in Milwaukee! They have plenty of great options for everyone. I'd definitely recommend trying one with garlic sauce.
google avatar

Alison P.

Yelp
Another phenomenal experience at Transfer. The La Bella pizza with garlic sauce is so good... I'm a huge fan of garlic sauces. Their bruschetta salami is a must every time we go/order from there. My husbands favorite is Stacy's special which is a bbq chicken pizza. We ordered one small pizza, one large pizza, and the bruschetta and easily got 2 1/2 meals out of it. The curbside pick-up is seamless right now as you pull up next to cones and employees outside assist you getting your order (that you placed in advance). The website worked well for ordering too. Their new event space is also wonderful!!
google avatar

Adam W.

Yelp
Just got the completely wrong pizza and their pick up process is so 2020. You have to call when you arrive and then they come out asking for your money, take it back to the counter and bring change/pizza. Very annoying
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
Our favorite pizza in Milwaukee! We love the variety and fast service at Transfer and usually order to-go!
google avatar

Gina S.

Yelp
Great pizza and delivers if live in range. Amazing choices are the la Bella, hot rod and diavola pizzas!

Yelp
Pizza delish w/fast service. Like the remake of old pharmacy, Only thing street parking but shouldn't stop you from going.
