"Through the name of this restaurant, located along an attractive, narrow pedestrian street in the old quarter of town, the aim is to pay homage to a traditional form of fishing that, through the generations, has been fundamental to the livelihood of owner-chef Antonio Novas’ family. It boasts a bar at the entrance that is reminiscent of an old Galician tavern, a welcoming stone-walled dining room on the first floor, plus a private space for small events above it. Here, the cuisine is centred around top-quality ingredients and touches of contemporary and international influence, including daily recommendations that never fail to impress. Standout dishes include the signature croquettes (including those prepared with cuttlefish in ink), fish of the day and, for dessert, the creamy baked cheesecake with seasonal fruit jam." - Michelin Inspector
We weren’t looking for such an elevated dining experience on this night of the Camino but we found it. A cosy spot with stone walls on either side, we were placed on the second level and enjoyed all the best of Galician seafood. Can confidently say I had the best mussels of my life here along with great seafood rice and an oyster the size of my hand. Wonderful.

We were able to be seated on a Saturday afternoon for lunch without reservation. Perhaps because we were the end table outside, I hope not because we were weary pilgrims just getting to town, but service level was noticeably less warm and present than the other tables. Forgot our bread, and in general wereshort, somewhat dismissive when they remembered we were there.
I ordered the octopus which was tender but lacked any flavor. There was a great show of pouring over the sauce which sounded great but had no flavor at all and concealed very quickly. My friend had the mussels which had more flavor, but was a small portion.

Good friendly service, English speaking. Reasonable choice of dishes that arrive fairly quickly. Suggest to reserve in advance, as fills quickly.

Good food experience overall, with some truly tasty dishes, good quality ingredients, and nice presentations.
On my visit, the only slightly disappointing dish was the tomato salad, it was fresh and good, but honestly not worth €13.

Very nice food and service. They fitted us without reservation (thanks for that) in a high table in the bar, day was a little chilly ( and there were a lot of pepole in and out),but it did not stop us from enjoying the meal. Really tasty fish rice and pumpkin dessert.

An exceptionally good meal. The team seem to be passionate about producing really fresh and exciting dishes with local produce. Friendly service and good recommendations for the wine list.

Great food, very friendly service at the bar. Enjoyed the cod fish fritters and Choco fritters. Choices of red wine by the glass were very good. Will visit again next n the future
