If you have lots and lots of money, you may enjoy seasonal mushroom dishes at Al Moro, one of the priciest places in town.

To all the negative reviews, it’s a price point problem I get it. Execution is spot on - every dish here is perfectly executed. Flavors on point - if you think Italian, this is it. Service - Italian, exactly as expected. House wine, burrata, lamb, anchovies, carbonara — all perfect. If you think differently you need to rethink your review. This is Italian. And it’s perfect. Get the wild strawberry tart. If you don’t know what that is, don’t go here. @Anne Mohan thank you for sticking to your guns.

The relatively mixed reviews would usually put me off. Our friends, however, insisted on going here and we are so grateful. Al Moro is an absolute Roman institution and if you think the prices are slightly higher than in many of the simpler restaurants or tourist traps, then you are right, but it is UNEQUIVOCALLY worth it. This is the best meal we have had in Rome — including some starred places. The lamb sweetbreads and strawberry cake were both exceptional. The menu is traditional yet interesting. Absolutely recommend.

The best artichokes ever - really! Great food and good service. A mix of tourists and locals (surprising for the location - would have expected only tourists). Very varied and complete menu, very nice wine menu, and great dessert.

Fabulous meal! The baba au rhum was the best we have had in the whole world . Sadly it couldn’t be pictured because we ate it immediately.

If you stick to the tried and tested dishes you'd be ok. The spaghetti al Moro were perfect but the caprese was weird, I can make better one at home- I'm sure there are better tomatoes out there and more basil leaves. My husband had a broccoli which was tasty but the 3 scampi...! €56! Good god, it makes us really apreciate the seafood in Vancouver. Yes, tables are very close together so not the time to share intimate secrets 😂 we booked a 7:30pm spot so service was fast, we were out in probably less than an hour. Best to go as a larger group to share more dishes.

Love the atmosphere of this place but it was overpriced for an average tasting food. Ordered a fried plate and there were three pieces, one was not properly plated and i couldn’t even eat it because the paper underneath were attached to it. I was actually shock to see the small portion for 7€ and they weren’t even good. Porcini pasta was quite good though (as it should). Service was attentive and the waiter was friendly for me. However, knowing the reputation of this place, the food and experience were disappointing to me.

Definitely overpriced, wouldn’t go back again. 24 euros for carbonara and the portion was not even generous or that tasty. The waiter had brought me I big bottle of sparkling water but I was alone, had to ask him to change it for a smaller one. Don’t recommend it.

In the heart of Rome, a small unexpected 'pearl' awaits with wonderful tastes, great atmosphere, chick and tasty menu and excellent service. Take their word on the wine, fabulous. Enjoy :-)
