Trattoria Alla Ruota

The team do a marvelous job offering wonderful dishes but on the day of our recent visit, a table of 12 was prioritized in such a way that service simply fell apart. Fabulous dishes were accidentally served to the wrong table where one of the dishes matched the order but that meant that the couple who ordered those dishes had to wait 20mins longer to get their meal. These things can happen anywhere so let’s focus on the food - it was delicious. From the appetizers through to the desserts. The decor is fitting for any event and the facilities are superb. Worth a visit.

Delicious food, great wine chart and modern-classic full renovated location. The view is spectacular. The antipasti are a must as the cakes.

This is a beautiful restaurant with luscious garden, nice views and the overall atmosphere was great. The food was a bit of a mix of great and average: antipasto was amazing, main meal very average for all of us, but the soufflé at the end was just perfect. However, the major turn off was one particular waiter with snobby, pretentious demeanor and a dismissive attitude. It felt like he was doing us a favour by letting us sit at his table. We asked a simple question able the menu and he just answered coldly and walked off. Not sure if he’s related to the owners but he’s certainly not great for the business. I also spoke in English to him as my children do not speak Italian but he constantly answered in Italian. It was a huge let down that ruined our evening and I regret not walking out. Worthy of the mention are also chipped water glasses. Not very safe for use and not what you’d expect of such an upscale restaurant.

To be honest, we were satisfied with the food here at beginning. However, everything turns opposite direction. The waiter served water continuously without asking, so we think it should be free. At the end, they charged 7 bottles on the bill. It’s not because of money, it seems a trap. Which has ruined everything although the charge of an untouched bottle was deducted finally. Prior notice before open each bottle should be a must.

Grande ! We had a wonderful lunch at Trattoria Alla Ruota. Chef Dante offers a very elegant interpretation of local cuisine with perfect cooking and saucing. Product are well sourced and super tasty, the ricotta I was served in my starter was AMAZING. The view from the restaurant is outstanding and oversees Valpolicella wineries and hills. Service staff was experienced but more importantly very friendly and hearty : we felt at ease immediately. We decided to taste local Valpolicella red wines but I would recommend any wine lover to have an eye on their French references : wine cellar is superbly filled. A must stop in the region, bravo !

We were overcharged here. We made a reservation for 4, one of the guests asked for a primi and a salad which according to the menu was a side dish to a secondi - so no actual secondi was ordered. The guest felt ill and had to leave after the primi arrived. We told the staff that the salad was no longer needed if it hadn’t yet been prepared. The salad was not served, and we were still charged 40 euros, which was the price for a primi+secondi. A secondi was never ordered. A side to the secondi was ordered but it never arrived. Ridiculous.

Wonderful family celebration! First we enjoyed aperitifs on the terrace with the lovely view to the valley at the sunset. The dinner was perfect 🥰

I LOVE this place!!!! Service was 10+, food was 10+. The beef tartare was to die for OMG. Sad that we haven’t been here earlier. The host Thomas was amazing! Told us some history about the restaurant which we really like. And give us some tips for our trip. Everything was on point and would recommend trattoria alla ruota to everyone. We had a great night, thanks👍🏻❤️
