10 Best Towns to Visit on the Amalfi Coast, According to Locals

"A beloved family-run restaurant where attentive, homey service meets a kitchen proud of its heritage; the tubetti ai totani (squid pasta) is a highlighted dish when available and reflects a menu tied to the day's catch." - Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz is a writer and editor based in Rome. Interview With the Avino Sisters of Palazzo Avino in Italy - AFAR

"A small, very local, family-run restaurant in nearby Scala favored by the hotel’s owners for simple, excellent cooking. The operation is generational—Lorenzo with his son Luca front-of-house and brother Gerardo in the kitchen—and is recommended as a relaxed, go-to spot where diners trust the staff to choose the best dishes." - Laura Itzkowitz

Google
Truly, an unbelievable find. Extraordinary restaurant with staff to match. The owner could not be more gracious, as well as the entire weight staff and chef. The restaurant itself is in a fabulous location, gorgeous fuse and overall comfortable, relaxing, and casual dining experience. The owner made us feel like we had been there once a week for the last 10 years and not in a phony way at all. The food was absolutely outstanding with not one thing that we turned around and said I wouldn’t have gotten that again. We started off with a selection of appetizers that the chef put together that allowed us to taste eat different items off the menu followed by a pasta dish with shrimp and a fillet that was wonderful. The lemon cannoli was outstanding!!! A true must…forget hotel dining, overall amazing!!!

Adorable spot, with friendly service and great wine and food suggestions. It’s not fancy but it’s very nice. Also my husband can’t eat dairy and we still had a fantastic meal.

This place has a beauty all its own, We had a pre wedding dinner for my son here, and the most amazing night of our lives to remember, with music and dancing with a stunning view. The courses of food are just divine and tasty tiramisu dessert made on the spot, exceptional service with a smile and the waiters joined in our happiness. This restaurant is a treat. A wonderfull relaxed Atmosphere with beautiful stunning views. The service was impeccably perfect. Loved every moment.

A great place to have a family meal or in our case 5 families, but they killed it! Awesome staff the entire night and an absolutely wonderful 4 course spread. You will enjoy a spectacular view of the village above and below all around! Hope we get to stop in again.

We had a great dinner here last night. Food is simple, yet fresh and delicious. Raw fish platter and fish of the day are the signature in my view. The langostino pasta is made to perfection too. Everything is perfect from food, to service to atmosphere, hence giving it a 5 star. I can’t wait to go back next time!

Had a fantastic lunch in this beautiful trattoria in Scala which is the oldest village in Amalfi area. Must try the fresh pasta with langoustine and the pasta a vongole.

Yelp
Come for the ambiance but the food is..... Not bad not but not great for the price tag. The views are outstanding but the price was not good for the portion size. There are better options in the area. Very over priced for a mediocre product. Don't let the view fool you.

Yelp
Very nice ambiance but you can't eat the ambiance. In retrospect, I was lured into a very costly meal. They didn't offer a menu--that was a tell. Every other restaurant I have been to several places here when they presented a family style meal it was very affordable. I ordered the house wine which ended up being $50 Euro per bottle. Much higher than the bottles they actually had listed on the wine list. Good food but VERY overpriced, GO TO EL PINGUINO--better prices and better service--2 meals for the price of one and great house wine. They won't scam you. Even without the price gouging I still wouldn't go back.
