"Burano is the most popular Venetian island, with its rainbow of houses and photogenic fishing boats. To avoid the crowds, do your island-hopping at the end of the day, and take a late-afternoon vaporetto ride and a sunset stroll before heading to Trattoria Da Romano for your dinner reservation. While you can find a ton of excellent seafood like clams, mussels, and shrimp here, the signature dish is the risotto, made with tiny fish from the lagoon called gò, and served tableside. The last vaporetto back to Venice is just before midnight, so even though it might be tempting, don’t linger too long in the enormous dining room looking at the impressive art collection and books filled with sketches by Joan Miró, Matisse, and Giorgio de Chirico." - gillian mcguire

This was one of the top seafood meals I’ve ever had in my life! Besides, the Risotto is to die for. We shared Turbot, sea bass and shrimp all grilled. They brought the fish to us to show us then after grilling deboned and prepared it for us table side. It’s not cheap it’s a splurge meal but Wow!

Very nice freshly cooked seafood and excellent service from our waiter. Good view sitting out front. Tried the saor sardine and prawns which is a local pickled fish.

Our best Italian meal in Rome or Venice. This place was great. Little English spoken but they’re patient and you figure it out. We had a bottle Conegliano Valdobbiadne Prosecco our waiter suggested which was excellent and went well with both entrees. For main course I had the grilled seafood plate which had 5 different fish. I had never had grilled eel before and it was delicious. All of the fish was cooked quite well. My wife had the black ink cuttlefish pasta. We shared both and I must say if I went back I would get the black cuttlefish as it was unlike anything I’d ever had - the fish tasted like a delicate scallop. Sauce had tomatoes in it but we didn’t guess it. They make it fresh on site. They have a tray of desserts made on site. I had the sponge cake covered in the most perfect meringue. My wife ordered the almond “cake”. We also each had a cappuccino and their homemade grappa…wow made me rethink grappa! They were only open noon to 3pm the week we were there.

It was a delightful lunch that we had at Trattoria da Romano! The warm welcome and friendly staff created a wonderful atmosphere that added to the enjoyment. The fried calamari appetizer provided a crispy and fantastic start to the meal, perfect for sharing. As the main course, the grilled turbot was incredibly delicious, making it a hit with everyone. The overall experience was fantastic, and we're already looking forward to returning for another memorable family lunch and impeccable hospitality.

Very good restaurant for seafood and pasta. We got the fried prawn, cuttlefish, veges and spaghetti with clams. Both were on point and the portion can feed two pax. The restaurant vibes was very local and the staffs were friendly. Note that there is a 4 euro coperto charge for each guest.

Both food and atmosphere are good here. Enjoy and will come back when we visit Burano.

The place looked great, it was filled with character from its art covered walls and blown glass lamps and glasses served. That’s all there is to it, service was sub-par. Food was bland. I wanted to order the risotto romano but saw that there was a minimum of 2 persons. Hence I chose the seafood linguine ‘of the sea’. DO NOT order it, total waste of $$. It basically feels like eating factory-made pasta mixed with some cooked frozen seafood. Worst of all, most of the clam and mussel shells are empty as shown in the second pic. I’ve checked my pasta and there were only a few in them that’s edible.

Our guide Monica of Top Venice boat tours took us here for lunch. It is primarily seafood and all the fish are caught fresh daily. The entrees are about 25 euros and up but this is a high end restaurant. Service was outstanding and the place is spotless. Highly recommend
