I wish I could have taken better pictures. The food was outstanding! The best eggplant parmigiana I have ever had. The attentive and caring staff did everything to accommodate our late walk-in. I would eat here for lunch and dinner every day if we lived close by. What a fantastic meal!

Recently ate here with my daughter. The atmosphere is cozy and rustic. We were greeted by our friendly host and waiter. And we were promptly seated. We each ordered a pasta and shared a green salad. A lovely, local white wine accompanied our meal. The pastas were excellent and the salad fresh and crisp. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Google
Just a lovely little restaurant in Orvieto. Our AirBnb host had recommended this restaurant, so on our last full day, we had lunch here. The server was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the Bird's Nest Lasagne with pecorino and honey (out of this world) and my husband had the steak tagliata with balsamic, which was so flavorful. The tiramisu and panna cotta with fruit were both delicious as well. Would definitely go back!

Google
Wonderful food and very kind service—my friend and I ate here this evening & had a great time! When we ordered our appetizer, it was strange that the menu did not list the topping on the bruschetta—which I think was a type of pâte. Normally something like that would be listed on a menu—especially since bruschette traditionally have many different toppings, but it was tasty and was served alongside five or six different slices of local salami and prosciutto. The restaurant has a couple of dining rooms that are small and we sat in the front dining room. We stayed for around two hours. we were almost to the first customers to come in and by time we left the place was full. I'll be back sometime!

One of the most amazing meals we've ever had! Hidden gem in a quiet alley, this is NOT a tourist trap. Try the boar pasta or the traditional pigeon!

Google
Easily the best Italian food I’ve probably ever had in my life and wonderful service.

Yelp
There are many things we liked about this restaurant, but for me, the best part of the experience was the service. We arrived a little later for lunch without a reservation and we were told the wait would be about 20 minutes. We were seated in 10 minutes and the wait staff was very helpful keeping us out of the sun during one of the hottest days of the summer. For appetizers we enjoyed a fresh caprese salad, a cheese board and mixed bruschetta plate. All of these were well-prepared, fresh and a great way to start the meal. Continuing with our plan to eat local specialties, we got two dishes with Umbricelli, a local fresh pasta, one with a sauce of roasted tomatoes and the other with tomatoes and garlic. Our other dinner guest had cinghiale prepared alla cacciatore. This was our first time having slow roasted wild boar, and it will not be the last. We had other plans for dessert, so we will have to wait until we return to Orvieto to try theirs and I am certain that it will be fantastic.

Yelp
I can't believe I am just getting around to writing a review on this great restaurant. We were there a year ago and I still rave about this place. Be sure to make a reservation. Communication was a tad difficult as our Italian isn't great, but the staff (maybe owners?) really try their best to communicate with you. They were so kind. Now on to the good stuff- the food! We had the asparagus and pecorino appetizer and it was to die for. I had the fava bean pasta and my husband had the wild boar ragu. Both were exceptional. House white Orvieto wine was really delicious. We had no room for dessert. It was one of the best meals of this trip to Italy, and if ever in the area again we will make a point to eat here again.

Yelp
Spectacular lunch. Off the main road almost in an ally this rest is a hidden gem. Everything was delicious. We would definitely stop here again.

Yelp
Restauant Trattoria del Moro Aronne is highly recommended on a number of the food WebSites. Like most of the restaurants in Orvieto they either have an English menu or will help you with the translation. The service was very attentive. We had a nice dinner we enjoyed a salad, ravioli stuffed with ricotta and pepper, and grilled boar meat. All of the dishes were nicely prepared. Reservations are recommended as it is a small seating area.

Yelp
This place was on my list from my original research, and then again by my hotel. It is tucked away off the main drag, Corso Cavour. The menu seems to be traditional Umbrian/Orvieto fare. I came for the pigeon, which is a local specialty. The service was good, only one English speaker, but they are very accommodating. I had the piatto di giorno of ravioli with truffle sauce, which was amazing. The piccione, pigeon, was a lot of work, but worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant, if you want a more "local" experience.

Yelp
What a great meal! Well worth the drive on our way to Florence! We tried almost everything (rabbit, pigeon, tortellini), all worth some great praises! The host and waiter were the most gracious.

Alexandria Q.

Yelp
Went to the trattoria la Paloma for pigeon but they wouldn't give us a table so tried this place. Glad we did. Good was good. €€-€€€ as most places in this area are. Friend said it was the best dish we've had in Italy. Definitely rich and well done (maybe even a little too well done-- a little bit chewy and dry but still pretty good). Service is good and quick.

Yelp
This place has unreal food. Outrageously amazing wild boar and lasagna pasta dishes. We started with brushetta pomodora and olive oil, and fried zucchini. Those two together we fabulous! I had the boar with tragliatele pasta. My husband had the lasagna pasta with cheese dish and the two together were superb. I couldn't eat anymore but my husband had the boar and chocolate second plate with potatoes, the bite I had was so tender and flavorful I wish I had room for more. The waitress brought complimentary lemon dessert and that too was fabulous. We plan to return for another meal before we leave Orvieto. Seriously incredible authentic food! Oh and the wine was soo good and inexpensive! All our food and wine was 60 euro. Great food at a great price.

Yelp
A wonderful dinner. Great Pasta such as tagliatelle with mushrooms and sausage. My wife enjoyed a dish of tagliatelle with meat ragu. Also had a chicken dish , salad , tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella. Fantastic!! Outstanding taste and quality. Service was perfect and no language barriers. We returned again to try more menu items. It's all good! Oh, and the cost is also very reasonable.

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't review this wonderful family-run trattoria in September 2018 when we were there. This was, indeed, one of the best meals we had on a two-week tour of Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany. There was a vegetable (zucchini, maybe) mousse that is one of the most delicious, yet delicate, things I have ever eaten. The pastas were all fantastic: Cinghiale w/tagliatelle was outstanding. The boar with chocolate was delicious. We will be back here in early May to continue our "cibo affetto." Lovely family. Wonderful food. Can't wait to come back to Orvieto. Heaven on earth.

Yelp
Always a great place to stop. The pasta is where they really shine. Try the nidi! Anything with truffle is always a good bet. The main course plates are good as well but the pasta is why I keep coming back.

Yelp
This place alone is worth the trip to Orvieto! Best food I had during a two week trip. Staff doesn't speak much English, but will work with you to ensure you are happy. We had a very large group (12) and everyone was stunned by the quality of food. ALL dishes were good and very well priced, but the standouts were the ones with truffles and porcini. The lasagna is made of delicate paper thin layers, the wild boar and pasta is so tasty, the chicken and pork dishes all had very positive comments. The staff is very warm, while praising the restaurant in the alley outside with the few Italian words I know, our waitress/manager humbly was apologizing for not being able to fulfill our take away order ( out of fresh homemade pasta for the dish) and offered for us to comeback in for complimentary Limoncello or coffee. A true Italian experience.

Yelp
LOVE!!! The ravioli was the best I've ever eaten in my life. Seriously I cannot eat ravioli anywhere else ever again because it will never ever be this good. Charming place and lovely people.

Yelp
The meal I had tonight was a religious experience. The olive oil was the best I've ever tasted. Local from here in Orvieto. The whole meal was just amazing.

Amy H.

Yelp
Went as a family of four. Never got as far as eating. Sever was extremely rude and abrupt we are Italian Americans and understand a bit of the language but he was bothered by our questions. We eventually left more than enough money to cover the drinks and WALKED OUT. I have never ever done that before and this is the first review I was ever so motivated to write.

Mai T.

Yelp
Fantastic food! Great amount of sauce to pasta ratio, delicious flavours. Best pasta I've had so far in my travels. Mains took approx 45 mins to come out however there were a lot of people seated for lunch. Well worth the wait.

Lenka H.

Yelp
A really great place for a family dinner. The food was very surprising - it was full of taste and with many unusual combinations that are very unique and specific for the region and house. We had a little struggle with the waiter at the beginning and were actually ready to leave immediately, yet because it was late and raining we decided to stay eventhough. We definitely do not regret this decission. After the "mama" came and took care of us, everything was suddenly smooth, the service was friendly and helpful and the food really delicious. There was barely any weakpoint and it was definitely one of our best dinners during our stay in Umbria.

Sylvia K.

Yelp
You must eat hear. The food is amazing as is the owner and the family. Try everything , so this will mean you have to eat there more than once. Thank you Christian for for a delicious meal and the wonderful dining experience.

Gail S.

Yelp
I can't stop thinking about the amazing pasta dish I had in this restaurant a few weeks ago! I would travel across the world again in a moment to have just one more bite of their famous "Nidi di rondine pecorino e miele caldo" In four trips to Italy, this dish is one I will never forget!

Jonathan D.

Yelp
Quiet, just off the main road. Delicious, traditional Umbrian food. Good wine selection. Very friendly staff.

John E.

Yelp
The staff was very kind but be aware hey speak very little Italian. The food was a bit heavy. The wild boar was good. The spaghetti with meat sauce was well prepared. The truffle ravioli was very strong but good. The ambience is very calm and inviting. Here were a lot of English speaking patrons. The town and streets were wonderful. Based on the previous reviews we had very high expectations. The wine selection was impressive with many local wines. Overall we had a good dinner but it didn't meet the expectation set by other reviewers.

Bill M.

Yelp
This place is hard to find, but definitely worth the search! The dining room is small and not fancy, but the food is great and the service is friendly and welcoming. Helps if you speak a little Italian here. Some of the Orvieto ceramic tiles on the walls are really old and very interesting.

Wakako U.

Yelp
Although everything I ate here was not the best, and in fact, the panzanella salad may be one of the worst panzanella salads I've ever had, the mushroom pasta was unforgettable!! I was so happy to have an amazing mushroom experience in the region known for mushrooms!

M F.

Yelp
This is an incredible restaurant -my wife is a gourmet cook and feels this is one of the top restaurants we have been to . The vegetable pasta was perfectly balanced and the vegetarian meatballs are not to be missed . Slightly toasty on the outside with a perfect blend of eggplant Vegas, cheese and tomato . Plus the portion was large . We highly recommend this restaurant .

Yelp
A wonderful spot just off the main corso. I've eaten their twice. The first time the ubiquitous Rick Steve walked in to do a little quality control. It is a series of nice rooms with high ceilings and very comfortable. Christian the owner knows what he is doing. Last time we had a party of 10 and had him just bring dishes to share. They do have some strong suits and occasionally they hit a dish out of the park. It is well worth a visit. The staff is great and very helpful. Lots of locals go there as well. Thumbs up.

Yelp
Amazing food! Probably our best meal in Italy so far. We had three courses and each was delightful. Also far cheaper than Rome

Yelp
This is a hard place for me to rate. The lasagna was amazing--one of the best I have ever had. The house wine was very good as well. However, everything else was very so-so. My friend's boar braciole was very dry, the pasta with boar tasted like chef boyardee, and I make a much better tiramisu. The service was good and helpful. Overall, it was fine, but I would not go back.
